I'm not in Bellevue too much nor do I drink bubble tea very often. I was at Bellevue Square and had to get some stuff, but we noticed this frozen yogurt place is now a boba/waffle spot. It's on the upper level across the way from North Face. The smell of the bubble waffle waffled across my face and it smelled delicious, so we decided to check it out. We got one of each, the Original Bubble Waffle and the Chocolate Bubble Waffle, it was pretty good, the chocolate one tasted chocolate-y, made to order, nice & warm, we picked and ripped it up like vultures and enjoyed it. As for a drink, I honestly have no clue how to order these special boba drinks, half this or that, amount of percentage of this or that, I just pick something off the menu as is. I got the Classic Milk Tea add boba....kept it real right there because I'm not fancy like y'all. It was ok, tasted like as the milk teas I've tried over my days, boba was chewy and tasty, overall it was ok for me. Service was ok as well, one girl pretty much working the entire counter when we came by, she was taking the orders, making the waffle and expediting the drinks when they were ready from the other person in the back. Prices are what I thought it would be. If you ordered multiple items, drinks and waffles will come out separately so remember your order # and be on the look out for your # to be called again. Wow, I have tried many boba places and my brown sugar milk tea was genuinely undrinkable. My boyfriend and I visited and the line wasn't very long this time. I ordered one of my favorite go to's and the salt creama was delicious. However, when I put my straw in, stirred and got some boba/brown sugar from the bottom it was horrid. Incredibly bitter, thick and truly rancid. My bf tried the drink as well, because maybe my taste was just off that day, but no it was really just that bad. I dislike going back and asking for a remake, but the drink was undrinkable. They promptly remade it (which I appreciate) but it tasted exactly the same. On top of that, they blamed me for not stirring correctly, which isn't rocket science. I really really love Happy Lemon. My fiance and I literally plan our trips to Bellevue around getting Happy Lemon. I think it's safe to say, we are Happy Lemon fans. We normally go to the other Happy Lemon just because it's more convenient, but we'll come here if we're running errands in the mall. Came here on a Saturday morning (and coincidentally National Waffle Day) to get some Happy Lemon as breakfast before doing a lot of wedding errands in and around the mall. We got there about 10:40 AM ish and there was no line. I got a regular milk tea with 50% sugar and regular ice, the fiance got a milk tea with rock salt crema on top. We got 2 original egg waffles. The waffles smelled amazing. Our drinks came out first, and we were a little disappointed. There was less then the normal amount of ice, to the point where our drinks were still kind of luke warm in spots. The egg waffles were delicious as always. They're made to order, warm, fresh, and so so good. Still the best I've had in the Seattle area. They do have dips you can get, but the original is so good on it's own already. I think Happy Lemon has the best tasting crema out of all boba places I've been to. So my go-to drink is usually black tea or green tea with rock salt crema. So delicious and creamy! I also like their drink container.. makes you feel fancy drinking milk tea lol. The drink has a white foamy cream top. They are quite popular here. I try to keep my calorie consumption to healthier options, which means avoiding crema, milk (made with whole milk), and smoothie options, and instead choose fruit tea options, at either 50% sugar (when sharing with hubby) or 30% sugar (for myself). With less sugar, I can more readily taste the tea and the fruit, which I like better. About the egg waffle, there's the original option and chocolate option. I guess luck was on my side for the first part of my visit here. I found two posts outside with the menu info. Found this really odd and walked in. There was no line. Just a couple before me. When my time to order came up, cashier (super nice and helpful by the way) went off for some minutes. I found it odd again because "why not waiting for my order and then take a break?" But I didn't know that a lot of people was about to arrive just after 2:15pm. So if you want to get your order fast, go before crazy hour :D I even had the opportunity to choose where to sit ;) You can order your drink with different sugar percentages. The mere sight of a long line extending out the door and the shop packed with customers was enough to send me elsewhere for a bubble tea. Eventually, during a day off from work, I stopped by on a Tuesday and to my surprise, there was barely a line at all. Finally! Their menu includes a variety of tea series: milk tea, cremas, teas with fresh lemon, freshly brewed teas and seasonal beverages. I ordered a large Mango Jasmine Green tea ($4.5) with boba ($0.5), which is one of my go-to tea flavors. Similar to other bubble tea shops these days, I customized my drink by requesting 30% sweetness and light ice. The sweetness was just right as the next level up would have been too sugary for my liking, and they included a reasonable serving of boba. The mellow flavor of the tea itself mixed with the fruity notes of mango and chewiness of the boba made for a satisfying drink. TIP: For those who love a classic black milk tea with boba, try their Boba Milk Tea. Boba is already included in the price, so it won't cost you an extra 50 cents for this topping. Unfortunately, service is relatively slow compared to other bubble tea shops, which explains the long lines on the weekends. I'm not exactly sure of the underlying cause, but their store has an interesting set up with a wall separating the cashier's counter and the area where the drinks are prepared. I could imagine that removal of the wall would facilitate improved communication and possibly greater efficiency, but they must have a valid purpose for the partition, which I'm curious about. On the bright side, the cashier was very friendly and welcoming. After taking my order, she read it back to confirm accuracy, and introduced their reward program via an electronic stamp card that you'll see on an iPad to the left of the counter. It's so cute and innovative! Your card will appear after entering your phone number and they'll provide a "stamp" for each drink purchased. Buy nine drinks and receive your tenth free! With pricing being on the higher end, and each drink costing say an average of $5, I wouldn't consider this that great of a deal. A free drink after seven purchases would be more reasonable. I haven't had too many bubble waffles in my life but this was definitely one of my favorites. I went here on a weekday and got lucky because there was no line. I've seen the line wrap all the back to the next store so I was pleasantly surprised! I only got the waffle and had to wait about 5-10 minutes before it was ready, but it was sooo good! Texture was perfect, crunchy on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside of each bubble. I can't speak to their drinks because I didn't try one, but they but let me sample their taro balls which were SO yummy. They were chewy and in a sweet syrup, it'd make a great addition to any drink. Came here on a weekend and was not surprised by the long line. I've been here since their opening and they're always busy. The lines move quick though. One thing I wish is more space inside. It felt very congested inside with so many people waiting around while you're trying to order as well. I tried their bubble waffle one day when the usual line was shorter. The cashier was nice, and I did not have any complaints about their service. However, their bubble waffles were just so so to me. Although it smell really good outside the shop, the actual thing did not have too much of a taste. The texture seemed to be a little over cooked as well. After eating a third of it, my stomach was not happy, and I had indigestion all night. I do not know what is inside the batter, maybe some artificial flavorings is my guess. I never come here for "typical" bubble tea (milk tea, boba, etc), so no comment on them. I always enjoy their specialty drinks, especially the Mango Matcha and rock salt series. The opening craze has fortunately, died down and getting a drink was an easy and fast process when my friend and I came here on a Friday night while at Bell Square. I ordered the Green Tea and Mango with Salted Cheese and was blown away! I only ordered the smaller size, just to try it, since I've never had Happy Lemon before. But from now on, I am definitely getting the larger size. The green tea was very abundant, which I liked and loved the fresh mango! I actually tasted small chunks from the mango, which made the drink all the more flavorful since it's obvious they use fresh fruit here. Yay! But my favorite part of my drink was the SALTED CHEESE! It tasted like a salted caramel froth, with a distinct salty flavor that complemented the fruity tea. I recommend adding the salted cheese if your drink doesn't normally come with it, as this is something you'll want to try for yourself. It just adds that "oomph" or a little extra to your beverage! This place definitely has potential to be expanding and be a top contender to other bubble tea nearby. They have so far surprise me twice in a good way. First, I came here during a soft opening and they were passing out samples of the avocado matxha and it was soooo good and refreshing. I'm usually not a fan of avocado but I definitely wanted to go and order this drink. Unfortunately, the soft opening was only for invited guests, bit it definitely made me want to come back. I came back duringI the grand opening week and so they had a special for a free upgrade from medium to large and there was definitely a line. However, they were very efficient and the line moved fast and once we got our order in, it took about 5 minutes to get our drink. I got the Jasmine tea with the rock salt (cheese milk tea). The green tea was pretty pronounced, though not as good as the mi tea place. However, the combination of the rock salt and the tea worked very well and the made the drink really tasty. This place is known for their cheese milk tea and I can see why, it's definitely high quality. Prices are very reasonable as well. The one thing that I wish they had though are decaffeinated drinks for those who doesn't want caffeine. The only thing they have on the menu is a chocolate milk tea. So many new boba shops are opening up on the Eastside, but I was most looking forward to Happy Lemon. I have been anticipating their grand opening ever since I saw their "coming soon summer 2018" announcement in their BSQ space, and I absolutely needed to give their infamous rock salted cheese/crema a try. We arrived around 5:10 p.m. and saw a line wrapped around the store. Not as bad as we expected. We waited for around 30 minutes to place our order and I had such a hard time deciding what I wanted to get. I ended up choosing the Jasmine Green Tea rock salt crema, while my friend got the Black Tea rock salt crema, with added tapioca and regular sweetness in both drinks. We waited another 10 minutes for our drinks and I watched as the girl up front scoop a ladle of the salted crema into our drinks. I took a sip of my crema and wow it was amazing. I've had crema plenty of times before, but something about the coarse saltiness of this crema added an amazing touch to the tea. My Jasmine green tea was a bit sweet for my liking, but the black tea was just right. This is where I have to knock off a point - for their tapioca. Maybe it was because they've been busy making large quantities of tapioca for their drink orders, but our tapioca tasted tough and flavorless. They were also particularly tiny, almost as if it wasn't cooked thoroughly. Unimpressed with the tapioca, but love the rock salt crema. Hopefully they'll improve that! read more

I discovered this place while shopping at the Bellevue Square Mall. My boyfriend and I were tired and a bit thirsty so we stopped in here to get a drink. Even though at first I was like what the heck is apple green tea supposed to be, I ended up getting it with coconut jelly. We both got half sugar and less ice. After waiting another 15 minute to get our drink, we found somewhere to sit and try our drinks! The classic milk tea was delicious, and I like it because it's the least sweet out of all the Bellevue boba places. The boba is also soft and chewy, and we didn't bite into any hard ones! The Apple green tea though, is what makes this place amazing. It greatly surpassed my expectations and tasted very refreshing. I also like how they put the Apple pulp in the boba because you can tell that they used real apples! It was tart and sweet, and had the slightest hint of floral flavor in it. It is a bit on the sweet side though, so I would get less sugar than normal if you don't like sweet drinks. I'm glad I paired it with coconut jelly, because it's more refreshing than tapioca pearls. I love Happy Lemon so much that I've already earned my free drink. What's good .... everything I've tried. I love the taro balls. The jasmine green tea is amazing with and without the creama topping. The strawberry jasmine tea with lychee is also amazing. Now the bubble waffles is a puff of sweet yumminess! It's my first time having them and now I'd love to try more. Bellevue is really becoming the hub for bubble tea. I had ordered the rock salt cream milk tea. I'm still a fan of the cheese foam topping and wasn't disappointed. I also ordered their regular bubble waffle. The packaging is super cute! The waffle it self was meh. I am one Happy Lemon. Upon my last review, the business owner reached out to me to remedied the oversight on my last order. It was a kind gesture that is not very common these days. I finally had the opportunity to try out the Matcha Avocado, and I have to admit that it's pretty good. There's a good amount of matcha that doesn't overpower the avocado smoothie. It also has a perfect amount of sweetness, where it's not bland or too sweet. I would totally recommend this place, and would likely be back to try out the bubble waffles. read more
