Used to be great grub, went in there today for the classic beef teriyaki... it wasn't teriyaki, it was just minced up beef with a couple sesame seeds on it. Must have changed hands. Do not confuse it with the place by the same name about 2 miles north on 82nd. That place is legit. Ordered one teriyaki chicken and rice plate which was honestly pretty good. Also ordered yakisoba. Not sure if the problem is their choice of noodle or the way they prepare them, but it's definitely not authentic. When I order Yakisoba from an authentic place the noodles are fried in a way that they almost have a char to them, these are soggy and remind me of spaghetti noodles. My request for no veggies was ignored either by the clerk who may not have understood, or the cook, not sure. They offered to remake, but I'm not driving back there. Honestly if it was cooked authentically the veggies wouldn't be a deal breaker. 3 stars based soley on the teriyaki chicken being pretty good. Inadvertently ended up here as we were searching for a Vietnamese spot. There didn't seem to be one on the left and Happy Teriyaki was the only place we could see in the fight side. So 5 of us made our way in and we were all pleased with the portion, the taste, and satisfaction. It's definitely a teriyaki spot that does it right. Doesn't stray from the standard selection. Big pictures of their selections, mixed meat plates and sushi - 4 kinds. It was a cold night and hot tea was readily available and gyoza/potstickers were crispy and worthy. 3 and growing as the older Asian man taking orders seemed to be a seasoned vet as he took orders efficiently and with purpose. As I took pics I noticed him sitting stoically behind the counter out of sight and just waiting for us to call if there was something needed. Prices are great, I spend less than $10 on a filling chicken teriyaki bowl with veggies, almost half of what I'm used to spending and the quality is delicious. We grabbed take out and it was so good! The chicken was juicy and not dried out at all. Their teriyaki glaze isn't overly sweet but well balanced. The rice is perfectly sticky yet not mushy. Something usually overlooked, too, but is my favorite are the veggie sides. The cabbage, carrot and broccoli mix was cooked perfect. They were cooked through yet still had the snappy crunch. This place has two things going for it - close to my work and fast. Most times I can barely get my Yelp app open to check in before they're giving me my order. (As you can see, I have quite a few check ins) For six bucks, I get a side of white rice, chicken teriyaki, pot stickers (except crunchy, what ARE THOSE CALLED) & steamed veggies. Basically, a crap ton of food that's pretty tasty. I would never say it was gourmet or anything, but still delish. Food is good but I walked in and NO ONE is wearing a face mask, not the cashier, or any of the cooks! Also, didn't see anyone in the kitchen wearing hair nets or gloves. Pretty good! I didn't feel like driving all the way to NE for my usual joint so decided to seek out a closer SE alternative. Glad we tried this over another chain. Craving teriyaki and out of our element around Clackamas Town Square, we headed north on 82nd through the sea of endless strip malls in search of a yummy destination. As the terrain thinned out and got a little... skankier (sorry, I don't know what else to say)... we saw a little building, neat as a pin and promising... Happy Teriyaki. I did a quick Google -- we were hungry enough such that unless I saw a headline that told of recent multiple deaths as a result of the food... But instead I found a few solid reviews about a generous portion of no frills teriyaki. And that's just what we got. For just over $6 for the chicken and gyoza plate we each enjoyed a plate heaped with chicken, rice and a small serving of veggies. The cabbage was steamed -- very steamed -- and I wish it would have been more crisp. Along with it was brocolli and carrots which were right on, however. The chicken was grilled and was done but not overly so. Adding flavor was an optional house-made sauce that tastes like a mix of Siracha, sweet chili sauce... and I'm not kidding, but maybe ketchup. That sounds odd, but it was really so, so good. They have the usual array of noodles, meats, etc. and the big picture menu that looms to the left of the counter overpowers the smaller menu to the right of that which explains there are more things like sides and a few more entrees. We ate in; the dining area is small, basic, and a little... sticky. There was a steady stream of take out business. The place gets 3 stars instead of two for the good value -- big portions. read more

I went to this location for the fact it was close to work and had a parking lot haha that being said it wa a great amount of food! So I called in the order and asked for half noodles and half rice. I came in and picked up my order, got home and found that there was no rice so I called up and the person who answered, who was also the person who took my order, told me to come in. I told her it was too cold to go out again and she hung up on me! I thought we were disconnected but when I called back she yelled at me that she was busy and hung up on me again. Who does that? She messed up my order and instead of apologizing she hung up on me! And to top it off, the food was horrible. The noodles were terrible. They tasted like soap or some kind of chemical. My fiance and I ate here for the first time on Saturday evening (3/10/18). When the woman at the counter finally acknowledged us, she was clearly sick. She was coughing everywhere and grabbed a napkin from the stack on the side of the counter and proceded to blow her nose and throw it on the counter right in front of us...at this point I was so grossed out but my fiance had already paid and reassured me that she isn't the one making the food. When we were sitting waiting for our food, the woman is still coughing everywhere, and into her hand then touching everything and going into the back where food is made! I know she can't help that shes sick, but maybe cough into your elbow? Anyway, the food was ok. Neither my fiance nor I finished our food (I can devour a whole plate of yakisoba when its good). Happy Teriyaki doesn't make me sad. I wouldn't say I'm singing from the hills, but certainly not sad. Their spicy pork, does make me quite happy. I like that they have some steamed veggies, and good deals on lunch specials. They have lots of side order options, pretty good prices and portions, and are easy to get in and out of quickly. I had no urge to vomit after eating their food and that is all that was memorable about getting take-out there. I never been a huge fan of teriyaki: you get a scoop of occasionally-fresh rice, some of the batch-cooked chicken, defrosted/reheated gyozas, and cabbage that's been steamed long enough to serve an entirely infant/geriatric customer base. Happy Teriyaki is average-at-best on executing on this business plan. Their prices are somehow even higher than nearby noodle and Chinese places that considerably more effort to prepare your meals. I wish I would've read the reviews before stopping in. It wasn't good. I popped in for a quick lunch before my next meeting and ordered beef teriyaki with fried rice and an order of shrimp tempura. I paid $16. The teriyaki has so much oil and juice that it was almost like soup and on top of that it was bland. I had to cover it in sriacha to make it more appetizing. The soda machine was out of syrup so my soda cheat day was wasted. I let the lady know that it still didn't taste right, she fiddled with the machine and never got it fixed. My fried rice was also bland but the worst part was everything on my plate was a bit less than luke warm. It's like they nuked it in the microwave for 30 seconds and called that a meal. Way disappointed and won't be back. I feel so ripped off. read more

Cool place. I had the chicken teriyaki with brown rice and teriyaki beef. The food was delicious and cook promptly. I called ahead. The restaurant is very clean and casual. I supposedly good for a quick bite to eat if you worked nearby. I have taken my food to go several times and it's a bit of a mainstay four people at my work. Rude, rude, rude!!! Been ordering once every 2 months for 6 years. My daughter went to get a phone in order and it wasn't ready. When it was finally ready and paid for she noticed that the order was wrong. When she asked them to fix it she was told they did it right so they couldn't fix it. When asked for a refund they refused. When I called and asked to talk to the owner I was told I had to come in tomorrow and the woman on the phone wouldn't even give me the name.
