Wow!!! I was in town to go to the beach and came across this place. This is a nice restaurant, they have indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside now the service was slow at first but they made up with such amazing service. To eat I really wanted the seabass but its only sold on weekends. I opted for salmon, shrimp skewer, mashed potatoes, salad and mixed vegetables. To drink I cant remember the name but it was a sweet wine and great as well. For dessert we had the apple dessert it was spongy but it paired so well either the icecream. When I say everything was amazing seasoned so well. Surprisingly upscale for being at the end of a strip mall. I love that they had outdoor seating available as well, although not much ambience there. I asked the waiter what he recommended for an appetizer and he recommended the steak bites. Although they were a bit steeply priced for an appetizer at.$29. they truly were delicious. My friend had the chicken livers and he said they were very good as well. The side salad was fresh and refreshing. Cloth napkins too! read more

This place is a must every time you're in the Pismo Beach area! Some friends of ours stumbled upon it and told us to check it out if we were ever in town, and it did not disappoint. I'm a little ashamed to admit we've been about five times now, but this is the first time I'm writing a review. Still, we make a point of having a meal here every time we're in the area. Everything on the menu is outstanding. You really can't go wrong. Whether you're a vegetarian, a meat lover, or somewhere in between, there's something for everyone. They also have rotating specials, and we haven't come across a single dish we didn't love. Each visit, we try something new, and it's always mouthwateringly delicious. In this photo, I ordered the beef shish kabob, which comes with two filet mignon skewers, grilled cherry tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers, served with hummus and tzatziki sauce. You get to choose two sides with your entrée. The options include rice pilaf, a Greek salad, grilled veggies, or French fries. I went with the salad and rice pilaf. This is one of the dishes we often return to. For me, it's a classic and it never disappoints. Another dish we often get is Kevin's style oven-roasted lamb shoulder. The meat is fall-apart tender and served over mashed potatoes. It also comes with broccoli and fire-roasted bell peppers, all tossed in a house-made tomato sauce and topped with fresh basil and feta cheese. This is one of our absolute favorites. The flavor is always unforgettable and absolutely worth coming back for. The oven-roasted lamb pasta is another go-to. You can choose between linguine or fettuccine noodles. Both are excellent, but this time we decided to go with the linguine noodles. The slow-braised lamb shoulder is melt-in-your-mouth good and served with broccoli and fire-roasted bell peppers, all tossed in their house-made tomato sauce and topped with feta cheese. It comes with a side of bread. The rack of lamb chops is another standout. It includes five lollipop lamb chops that are perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection. This dish also comes with two sides of your choice and a house-made chimichurri sauce that is incredibly fresh and complements the meat perfectly. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. The food is consistently delicious, and the experience is always well worth it. However, there's more... Another cool thing about this place is that it's also a wine bar and specialty shop. I'm not sure what to call it exactly, but they have a massive selection of wines, beers, and premium spirits, including some that are distilled onsite. Lastly, the service has always been great. I thought no big deal and called them to refund the items they didn't give me. I was told they couldn't help me and the manager would contact me the next day. OMG, what a find! We had done some business in Arroyo Grande and were going to head back to Carpinteria but lunch munchies delayed us. A Yelp search found, of course, many options. So, after a little discussion we agreed on Hapy's and entrusted GPS to get us there. We were a bit apprehensive when we discovered that the restaurant/bar is in a shopping mall but, as we didn't have that much time we agreed to risk it. It was right next to a large garden and outdoor stuff suppliers. Happy locked in distinctive from the outside but we persevered. Upon walking in we were charmed by this wine bar, beer bar, distillery. We were promptly seated in back at some nicely configured tables on their modest but nicely appointed covered outdoor seating. They have heaters for those below 60 degree days but this breezy little spot was very pleasant. Nice tables, tablecloths, and real chairs that don't fold. Alright so far, now to the menu. Again, wow. An interesting and creative menu that orbits in a contemporary Mediterranean vibe. Middle eastern things like hummus and falafel, creative Italian and Greek dishes. OK, but how will it taste? I ordered a falafel burger with fries and my lunch companion ordered crab cakes, fries, and a Greek salad. Well, here's another OMG. These folks really know how to cook these dishes. The burger, which used hummus instead of mayo, revealed a symphony of flavors. Fresh lettuce, purple onions, delightfully fresh tomato and a truly fresh bun caused any gustatory anxiety to melt away. And the fries were air fried. Not greasy. Not burnt, just delicious. I didn't taste the crab cakes but I did sample the salad which was fresh and tasty. After we finished those items we ordered coffee, and I couldn't resist trying their baklava. Now, I grew up in Chicago, so I know how authentic Greek cooking tastes. They nailed it. On top of that, as we were walking out we exchanged thanks and pleasantries to our attentive waiter. He then showed us their small but beautifully designed still where they make vodka and ouzo as well as a few other fine distilled liquors. (their beer and wine selections are also rather large and apparently lovingly chosen). This place fires on all cylinders producing delicious high quality food and drink in a classy setting that makes you forget the "mall vibe". And it is a few easy turns that put us back on the 101 driving with happy tummy's. Now all we need are more excuses to go to Pismo Beach and vicinity. We left Hapy happy and will be back. I have been coming to Hapy since they first opened. What I love about this restaurant is they are so consistent. Everything I have ever gotten is delicious! I usually order some of their fresh pita bread with one of the hummus platters or steak and mushroom bites. Their Avgolemono Soup is one of the best soups I have ever had. A couple of my favorites also include the steak and mushroom bites and chicken skewer plates with their rice pilaf and fresh salad. The service is always great. This is by far one of the top restaurants in SLO county. The food is incredibly delicious - they truly understand good flavor. Dolmas - Handmade, fresh in house. One of, if not the best I've ever had. Mushroom Hummus - Amazing. Delightful. Brilliant combination. Again, one of the best hummus' I've ever had all over the world, including in the Mediterranean. Falafel - Perfect texture & flavor & expertly cooked. Some were even heart shaped!! I loved them. French fries - yummy! Not your average fry. Very good. The service was super friendly and on top of it. The ambiance is nice, definitely more of an upscale restaurant with a diverse drink menu. Great spot for a date or special occasion. Located in an unassuming shopping center, the overall branding and design could use a little upgrade to match how wonderful the rest of this place is. The inside is nice with a back patio option, but some tweaks to beautify the interior (kinda basic inside) and exterior (the lotus flower logo looks like it could be an Asian restaurant or yoga studio) could go a long way. Overall, I would highly recommend for foodies in the area seeking fantastic flavors and service for lunch or dinner. This place is pretty special. It's rare to find a place you can tell everyone working cares about the service and food quality. We opted for old fashions, bacon-wrapped dates, lamb kabobs, stuffed chicken, and carrot cake. Every dish was delicious, but the stuffed chicken is a new favorite. Although we chose table seating, I couldn't help but admire the "twinkling stars" installation above the bar, which added a magical touch to the restaurant's overall atmosphere. Imagine the best falafel you ever had...then go to Hapy and get one just as good, if not better!!! We had eaten there a couple of years ago, and my husband and I wanted to try it again, as I was on the lookout for restaurants that are continuously open from lunch through dinner. I remembered a delicious meal with a Mediterranean vibe and wanted to explore the menu again. We arrived early for lunch, around 1130 am, which turned out to be a wise move. We chose from the well rounded wine list, then examined the menu as the patio filled up with lunch time customers, many of whom seemed to be regulars. There were co-worker groups, families and couples soon filling the pleasant outdoor patio. It was fresh and breezy and on a less sunny day, there is probably a view. The waiter soon brought out the glass of Timbre Sauvignon Blanc that I had ordered because I was curious about it being "On Tap". He kindly explained that they buy it in big 5 gallon jugs and pump it out. It was light and refreshing, and a bit more economical than the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. I decided to try the hummus platter appetizer, and my husband ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich, which the attentive waiter recommended. I thought that the prices were slightly high for our area, until I saw the size of my appetizer! It could easily have served four people! Very nice place (not cheap). High on a hill. We stopped in for lunch on a long drive home from visiting our grandchildren. I had the bacon wrapped salmon bites with balsamic glaze. SO good! My husband had the kefta kabob and enjoyed it. He said the hummus was exceptionally good. The service and ambiance were much better than expected given its location at the end of a strip mall with a big parking lot. We hope to go back on our next visit! read more

Seriously so good!! Incredible flavors and well priced. Really fresh veggies. I usually don't eat Mediterranean food but I really liked this one and everything it came with. The bar has a really pretty glittery star ceiling too that I couldn't stop looking at! My friend got the mushroom steak appetizer with pita and that was also a 100/10 and comes hot on a sizzling plate. I liked that one even more than mine, and I really liked mine too. After seeing so many positive reviews, we tried Hapy and are sorry to say that the quality did not meet our expectations. Pros: The encrusted salmon was fairly tasty, cooked properly and a nice sized portion. Service was pleasant. Cons: The crab cakes arrived barely lukewarm and were heavy on the bread crumbs and very light on crab. The Kevin's oven roasted lamb was over-sauced, contained almost zero lamb, and sat on runny mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, we probably will not return, but hope the owner or manager will consider this constructive critique and make needed improvements. read more
