Seriously so good!! Incredible flavors and well priced. Really fresh veggies. I usually don't eat Mediterranean food but I really liked this one and everything it came with. The bar has a really pretty glittery star ceiling too that I couldn't stop looking at! My friend got the mushroom steak appetizer with pita and that was also a 100/10 and comes hot on a sizzling plate. I liked that one even more than mine, and I really liked mine too. Very nice place (not cheap). High on a hill. We stopped in for lunch on a long drive home from visiting our grandchildren. I had the bacon wrapped salmon bites with balsamic glaze. SO good! My husband had the kefta kabob and enjoyed it. He said the hummus was exceptionally good. The service and ambiance were much better than expected given its location at the end of a strip mall with a big parking lot. We hope to go back on our next visit! read more

Hapy Restaurant is a hole-in-the-wall restaurant located in the same strip as Ross and Outdoor Supply Company. The entrance looks like nothing special but the inside is very nice. Our service was good but they seemed a little short staffed as the bartender was the one taking our order and getting us our food. The food was delicious. Highly recommend their lamb burger and chicken gyro was great but ask for extra garlic sauce on the side. read more

After seeing so many positive reviews, we tried Hapy and are sorry to say that the quality did not meet our expectations. Pros: The encrusted salmon was fairly tasty, cooked properly and a nice sized portion. Service was pleasant. Cons: The crab cakes arrived barely lukewarm and were heavy on the bread crumbs and very light on crab. The Kevin's oven roasted lamb was over-sauced, contained almost zero lamb, and sat on runny mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, we probably will not return, but hope the owner or manager will consider this constructive critique and make needed improvements. read more

My husband and I are staying in Pismo beach for a week vacation, we came to Hapy for the first time, we have a catering business therefore we are a bit demanding when it comes to food. We were impressed by the service of all the staff and absolutely delighted with the food which exceed our expectations, my husband had the grilled octopus and vegetable and a bowl of lentil soup and to my surprise I had the best chicken caesar salad I've ever eaten, I enjoyed every single bite of it. The owner had a beautiful welcoming attitude and personality, he offered us a complementary bread pudding for us which was also amazingly delicious!! we are so grateful to find this wonderful place to eat, we will definitely come back here to dine when in the area. I have been into Hapy several times for dinner and lunch. Hapy is a hidden secret. It is off the beaten path in the Shopping Center where Big 5 Sporting goods is at. Don't let the location make you think this isn't a top quality restaurant. Every time I have been to this restaurant I always enjoy a great meal with variety and quality. The genre is centered on Greek style food. The service at Hapy is above par. Greeted at the front door, given an option of choice of seating (standard low table or pub style higher), given water and option for drink order right away, and then continual checking in as food was on the table and afterward. The owner Sam is always cruising through making sure everyone is Happy with their choices and if there is anything that needs attention. He is training his servers well and it is reflective in the overall service and impression. The wine and beer selection is AMAZING!!! If you can't find one you like here or in your price range, you're not looking. They literally all around you. Also a little secret about Hapy is that they have one of the best Cigar Humidors in the county. You'll find all the top names and up and comers here. Quite a surprise but nice to know. My buddy and I will stop in here just for the Cigars on the way to a poker game with the boys. On the last visit last night, my wife and I started with the Crab Cakes. We both agreed that they were outstanding. I had the Salmon with rice pilaf and Greek Salad. It was perfect and paired well with a nice Chardonnay. My wife had the Lemon Soup and it was fantastic! Had the chicken kebabs and wife had the filet kebabs. Must say, some of the best I have ever had. Greek salad was amazing too. Nice touch with the chopped up olives. Kiddos had the kids chicken tenders. Fries were fresh and were like extra thick in n out fries. Tenders had to be homemade with some type of amazing batter. Kids went bananas over them. Summary: What an amazing "hidden" gem. You walk in to a wine/beer liquor store, then pass through to a cozy, enclosed back patio with a little view, comfortable setting, amazing service, and stellar food. Our server Carston/Carlson (apologies if misspelled) was superb in making the whole experience fantastic, in addition to the food. The gyro and falafel were highlights. My wife, her parents, and I went here on a Monday evening for dinner after a solid day of wine and beer tasting. As usual, we found it via Yelp, and made our way there from Santa Maria. When we first entered, we were surprised to see a large set of refrigerators on the left full of beers and wines of various sorts, and then a number of shelves of wine on the right, and bar in the back corner. There were a couple of small tables as well, but when we made our way to the bar we were then greeted and escorted back to a table in the outside patio. The patio is enclosed, but has one side that faces downhill into the valley. There are heat lamps above for when it gets colder, but it was quite comfortable. We were seated, and then met our server and were given an overview of the menu. We spent some time picking beers to try from the extensive list, then began with some appetizers, including avocado hummus and the Brussels sprouts. We then ordered our entrees, and settled in to enjoy our meal. All along the culinary journey, we were well tended to by our server, who gave excellent descriptions of various items, made sure we had everything we needed, and engaged us in some casual conversation throughout. All of the food was excellent, and was a great value for the cost (as we had leftovers to take home). This is a wonderful place to visit for lunch or dinner, and we look forward to returning the next time that we are in the area. read more

The place was very clean and the atmosphere was very lovely. There's a back patio where most of the guests were sitting. We opted to sit inside and enjoy our meals in a quieter environment. Actually, really good Mediterranean food. Plenty to choose from and a full bar. The waitstaff is pleasant and everything is clean. Definitely a place to revisit and bring friends to. I had chicken bites and lemon chicken soup. Be warned, the soup is lemony! The chicken bites are a full meal, at least for me. Husband got the pasta and ate it gone. Updates Review: This place is still amazing. The high quality of service and food has kept up over the years. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. They know their menu inside and out and are happy to answer any questions you might have. The food is freshly prepared to order and comes out in a timely manner (even when they are busy). My favorites are the Gryo sandwich, Gyro salad, the bustle sprouts (I know I was surprised too) and their date are tasty as well. The lentil soup is out of this world. Hapy does indeed make me happy! Part wine bar, part Mediterranean restaurant, Hapy has a lot to offer. Shop for wine, or buy a bottle and enjoy it at your table. They also feature a humidor for you cigar aficionados. But for me, the star at Hapy is what comes out of their kitchen. Gyros are not a popular food item here on the Central Coast, and a good Gyro is hard to find (because the Arby's "Gyro" does NOT count). Hapy's Gyro sandwich is incredible. It's everything a Gyro should be. The tzatziki is fantastic as well. I'd recommend the dinner menu, featuring their rib eye steak. Salads are generously portioned, and the kebabs are authentic. The staff is accommodating and responsive. In the couple of times I have frequented Hapy, the experience has been positive and I leave satisfied... hence the 5 stars! read more

I was looking for something different for lunch in PISMO and came across this Mediterranean restaurant on my Yelp app. The Lamb sandwich and lentils soup looked promising. After enjoying the hummus my soup and sandwich arrived. I can honestly say the Lamb sandwich with goat cheese is amazing! I topped it all off with a cold glass of Fig Mountain Brown Ale. We're in town for a weekend getaway in Arroyo Grande and wanted to check out a local restaurant. We checked out Yelp and decided to check out Hapy. We're glad we did! The food was amazing and the service was great. It looks like a regular restaurant from the outside but when you walk in, it's like a restaurant with a mini bevmo! There are fridges stocked with wines, beers, and other beverages. Plus wine racks as well. You're able to buy some drinks with your dinner for sure. The restaurant patio was beautiful and had awesome heaters on a cool night. We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer, and both got kebab plates. My bf got the beef/lamp Kefta kebab and I got the beef shish kebab that was filet mignon. Then we got a side of falafel to split. Everything was SOOO good. Everything was seasoned perfectly. The filet kebab pieces were perfectly cooked. The falafel was crunchy and so good. Service was great too! Parking was easy as they are in a shopping center. I would highly recommend! read more

Missing Food - More Money - No Response... I didn't want to write this update to my original review, but poor customer service left me no choice. My wife and I bought around $100 worth of food through Doordash (plus tax, Doordash fee and tip). My entree was halibut and Doordash had a box on their ordering form which asked "if the halibut isn't available, what would you like to do?" I checked the box "management has discretion to substitute". When the Doordash guy arrived, he said Hapy was out of halibut and gave me seabass instead. I replied "no problem". NOTE: After dinner, I saw a message on my phone from Hapy saying they were out of halibut. Until this point, I didn't really have a reason to write an update. However, my seabass was supposed to come with 2 vegetables - mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus - and it only had the potatoes. In fact, the Hapy website shows a nice picture of the full plate. Still, I wasn't ready to write this update...even though I had missing food and the seabass was worth $3.45 less than the halibut I paid for in advance online. So why did I finally do it? I called Hapy the day after my dinner and spoke to a smart-sounding guy who said he'd relay my message to the manager who would contact me. After waiting 3 days for a response, I decided to post this update. And for the record, the seabass was overcooked. read more

Cute wine bar serving mediterranean food. The interior is strange in that half of it is set up as a wine bar/restaurant, but has glass-door fridges along one side, which makes it look like a neighborhood bodega. The upside is that they sell all kinds of beer and wine that you can drink alongside your meal. The food was okay. Large portions, so that was a good part. The moussaka was kinda meh. What a great little gem of a restaurant! Nicely decorated inside and had what looked like a pretty spacious outdoor patio. The Mediterranean food was wonderful, pitas fresh and delicious. My husband said he'd return for those alone. But his shawarma chicken sandwich was well seasoned but just a bit dry. The chicken caesar salad was a generous portion of fresh lettuce with loads of chicken and croutons. My Pastrami Sandwich was generous and juicy, a little salty for my taste, but well seasoned and sauced. (Think Reuben sandwich with dill pickles instead of sauerkraut) Service was attentive and pleasant. We were there on Mothers Day and didn't feel rushed. We highly recommend! read more
