So this was my one and only tool store but not any more. Anything that is electrical from here dont expect it to last i went through four drills, two air compressors, and two electric screwdrivers. I have seen the service here completely go down the drain like this has become the walmart of tool stores. The item we wanted was in the back stock room. Went to the cashier to ask for it and she told an associate(probably the manager or supervisor) to get the item. Instead of helping us out he went outside to take a personal call on his cell phone. We waited 10 minutes before we decided he's not coming back in anytime soon so. I love this place especially this one on State college. There's a girl named Luz Lus, and she is seriously the best employee harbor freight can have in the retail and service components of the store. She goes around and asked customers how they're doing and if they needed help finding certain items and she was like a walking advertisement for harbor freight going around and letting people know what killer deals they are currently having. She was so nice to me oh, my gosh. And I was extremely and lucky enough to have encountered her at the register as well! She is absolutely socially inclined and knows how to talk to customers and make them feel comfortable about the purchases!. Thanks Luz! You always make my day when I see you at the store! I ended up buying over $300 worth of tools with the help of her suggestions and I ended up using all of those tools on my project. By the way, I still owe you two tacos! read more

Harbor Freight is a great place to get cheap tools and hardware made in China. Sure the quality may be on the lower end, but sometimes, it doesn't make sense to throw down big bucks for a tool that you will probably only use for a couple of projects. This particular location is a bit better organized and cleaner than their other locations. read more

This by far is the best, cleanest, biggest HF location in the area.Yeah people always complain about it all being cheap Chinese made stuff, but if your a DIYer/shade tree mechanic you can't go wrong, especially with specialty tools. Joined the Inside Track membership but is not really necessary with the Sunday paper coupons they send out all the time. read more

Pretty disappointed. Bought a Sanders some months ago and had not had to use it until just the other day. Opened the box and it looks like somebody used this thing to its last leg and mangled it. Somehow they managed to get this back on the shelf to sell. Can't find receipt due to too many random shopping sprees here. Because I did not buy the extra warranty, they will not return it, which would be fine if I was the one that actually got some use out of it and don't have to resort to painstakingly hand sanding. From their side is understandable, as I can imagine how many cheap f@%$ try to bring abused equipment back and pin it off as "this is how I bought it". But in my case, I really did. Lesson learned to always check before buying. I will definitely not be buying any more power tools here again. Looks like it's back to Lowe's to pay a little more but get some better quality and service. read more

I will no longer go to this store I had to change my sons diaper and the two cashiers won't let us into the restroom waited a good five minutes and they still won't leave the check stand to let us in saying they were the only two there ... really bad customer service especially since we had a child who needed to be changed I left without buying what I went in for due to the employees here. If you have a code on your restrooms you should be willing to give it out to your customers!!!! Or at least take the minute and let them into the restroom. They had what I needed but the employees sucked across the board. I went to ask someone if the blade I needed was the same size as the one in the box. So he cut it open... He thought I had already bought it. Really? What if it was the wrong size? Why would I ask if the thing is the correct size if I already payed for it? On what planet would I want you to open it if I had! If it was the wrong size would you have put it back on the shelf. So sad. No one out on the floor. Called in with a question, got put in hold for ten minutes, then hung up on. Standing in line only one register open, teller doesn't know how to make a sale, calls out the manager which was looking for any excuse not to come out, I could hear her over the radio. Finally comes out and takes a few minutes to finally make the sale. One customer had a question for the manager, which she promptly ignored and went back to her personal call (had her iPhone in hand, on speaker phone), customer says "tell her ill just go to another store". I finally get rug up, and the teller proceeds to give my change to the next person in line. Amateurs. Go somewhere else. read more

I was stoked when I saw a Harbor Freight had opened within fifteen minutes of my Casa! As a Gear Head some of their tools I avoid but there are lots of other items here which work fine for a hobbyist or occasional wrencher. I'm sure I'll be back again soon!! read more

I normally wouldn't do this...especially at this kind of store...you get what you pay for in my opinion. But this is regarding their times posted. They had a big coupon sale (big deal right) bit I plan to be there at 6:30-7 on my schedule and I was. They were closed up and then when I called about it the next day the girl just cut me off and said there was no big sale or anything this weekend. But I got an email with all their stupid coupons. I was actually coming to buy some stuff for the house that I needed plus grab a couple of the freebies. Anyways, kind of rubbed me the wrong way but Im going to ding them on yelp. They could of just said "Yea come down with the coupons and we will honor it." I would of come down and bought well over what that junk is worth. They seem real up tight for such a low level quality of supplies. What a crock of crap, the store manager gave me about doing a return. He claims that because they failed to ask for my phone number, now they cannot find my transaction so despite the fact that the item I bought is brand new and unused they want to only give me store credit. Granted my receipt was destroyed while trying to keep my house from flooding, but I only bought it two days ago, we never used it and I showed them the transaction on my credit union account. If sales are bad today, don't screw customers to keep them from returning something! Very poor service! May be my last trip to Harbor Freight, I will pay a bit more for Home Depot service!!! I shop here for mostly for single use tools, throw away, "can I borrow" tools, but some of their product is decent. Check their website before you purchase items as the reviews usually reveal if the product will last and function as intended. The lines here are always slow and long. The cashier will sometimes give you a extra free item without even asking. Always shop here with the coupons they send out. They send them in the mail, the newspaper, back of magazines, and in the Pennysaver. read more

you get what you pay for. duck tape 80 percent off...but dont stick like reg duct tape power tools - one time project use customer service....HA! as if theyre hiding from you but you see them all talking to each other about nothing batteries dirt cheap.....for a reason. Some dont even have a charge best thing about this location is the chinese restaurant behind it LOL Steel drill bits to drill through thin steel.....break in 30 seconds literally and dull in 5 sec. I bought a nozzle 2 weeks ago and it was leaking everywhere .. Looks expensive from the inside and it is crap made. Well to make story short went for an exchange and guy with a beard said no receipt no exchange store policy.. Unfortunately I lost the receipt... There newspaper ad said easy return or exchange... It did not say that you have a receipt for returning. I'm not coming bad to that store ever again and also they are the only one who carry that item. read more

I just tried to return a product intact with its original unopened package. Of course, I did not have the receipt and the manager would not accept the return initially. First off, it was a "Pittsburgh" product, only belonging to Harbor Freight. Second, my records are on their database. It show when I purchased it and for how much. The clerk, unknowingly, without the manager's knowledge looked it up, and saw my purchase. I asked the manager what is their reason why they would not refund or exchange my item without the receipt. She said it was due to fraud. I told her I just saw the records in their database and showed my purchase, there is no reason for this policy, unless it is to rip off customers. She said they were not suppose to look it up. The only conclusion that makes sense is Harbor Freight is purposely implementing this policy in hopes most people won't have a receipt. Harbor Freight is bottom barrel shopping with bottom barrel polices, hoping to make a buck on un-suspecting customers. read more
