I met some of my high school friends for breakfast at the Harbor House Cafe on Thursday on January 27, 2022 at 9 a.m. This is my first time that I have eaten at this Harbor House Cafe for a Breakfast meeting. After about 7 classmates showed up at this Harbor House Cafe, then we started to order our breakfast meal. I placed my order with my server Arianna she took my order today. I ordered the one quantity of the CA Omlet it is filled with (bacon bits, scrambled eggs, diced onions, and mushrooms). The avocados are sliced and placed on top of this CA Omlet. The price is $13.95. Then I had the choice of choosing a side order like a serving of the home potatoes, 2 toasts, 2 buttermilk biscuits or one serving of the coffee cake. I had chosen the home potatoes for my side order this is included with the CA Omlet. I also wanted to eat a dessert. I ordered the one serving of the Coffee Cake. It has a Cinnamon and Sugar Streusel topping. The price is $4.95. Then for my beverage is the Decaffeinated Coffee. The price is $3.95. This total cost was $22.00. It took about 15 minutes until my CA Omlet with the home potatoes and the one serving of coffee cake was brought out to our table. While we were waiting for our breakfast orders to be brought over to our table, everyone of my Oceanside High School Classmates were reminscing about our Oceanside High School days and the events we did as a remembrance. It was a lot of fun for me to meet my classmates and it was also a long time coming. Our servers were very attentive like Arianna and Kristen. Arianna stopped by our table at least 4 times and she refilled my cup with decaffeinated coffee. Kristen was filling up all the water glasses. Arianna was very friendly, attentive, and helpful in helping me to choose one of their most popular dishes. Arianna recommended to me to order their CA Omlet with the home potatoes and their Coffee Cake. I ordered all of these 3 items from their menu. Arianna informed me their most popular dishes on their menu is their Belgian Waffles, French Toast, Omlets, their Egg Benedicts with the Hollandise Sauce, Breakfast Burritos, and their Coffee Cake. Everything that I have eaten was very delicious and flavorful. I will be going back to eat at this Harbor House Cafe soon due to their food is very delicious, I also received excellent customer service from Arianna and Kristen our two servers. Their prices are very affordable. I really loved the inside of this Harbor House Cafe. Their were Ocean scenery that was painted on their walls. It was very beautiful atmosphere and very relaxing. With decent ratings and in the area that this place is, I would've expected a lot better. I was strolling, appetite building all morning until I finally walked through these doors. Aesthetically the place was appealing but the food on the other hand? It took away my entire appetite. The vegetables were raw in the scramble I ordered, there was no seasoning and felt like it was thrown together by someone possessing a black heart. The cinnamon roll was a 4/10, below avg but not horrible. The other food was at most a 2/10. I can't believe this place is still open with the food culture present around the area. Service wise they were great and took the input we gave them, however I guarantee they won't apply it. My partner was working on the Pendleton base so we met here for lunch. It was not busy when we came and they have a dog friendly patio. The food was good and coffee was decent diner coffee. our server was expecting our needs before we could ask for things which was a wonderful change of pace in today's service industry. If you love supporting mom and pop small businesses then you have to come here. I've never had a bad meal here. The French toast, coffee cake, cinnamon roll, sandwiches or breakfast dishes are delicious! The service was great even when I heard them apologize for them being down 2 servers. Our food came out quickly and tasted great! The mimosas and coffee are a perfect start to your breakfast. We visited Oceanside over the long Labor Day weekend and before we stopped at the beach my husband and I wanted to have some great breakfast. After searching places in the area for a while we randomly picked harbor house cafe. Unfortunately, we didn't have a good experience which was upsetting because I love trying new breakfast spots in hopes that it will be delicious. I went with the veggie omelet which had mushrooms, tomatoes, cheese and avocado on top. Ingredients where not fresh and the egg had no flavor I couldn't eat more then a few bites. The vibes are amazing very clean establishment and you can feel the vibes of family restaurant. we were asked several times how we were doing by multiple people not just the waitress. Hey guys, So today was pretty productive. I took a day trip down to Oceanside and filmed some content for another food review and to highlight Oceanside, a video will follow shortly and I will updated asap. We thought the pier would be a great starting point to get some footage and get a vibe for the area, it was super chill! The real reason you're reading this is because maybe you're curious on Harbor House Cafe and I'm gonna do what I can to give you my honest review of first and foremost the food and the service, the two most important things I personally look for. Harbor House Cafe is a gem of a find not because it's in this great location with perfect beach front access, what I feel makes this place a five star local eatery is number one, the food tastes fresh and high quality and second our waitress, Paula was super accommodating and very friendly. She was very patient with us while we were filming our review of Harbor house, look for the updated YouTube link shortly as I'll update for you all to watch and get a feel for our experience. We all ordered breakfast, I personally ordered their Corn beef hash made with their house brisket which came with home potatoes and eggs, I went scrambled for my eggs. My guy Nick ordered Huevo rancheros with their homemade ranchero sauce and finally my guy Joey ordered the eggs Benedict with short rib, he also ordered a flight or Mimosa's. I have to say that I was very impressed with the quality. The freshness of the food was on point. I felt like I was just made a homemade breakfast. It was delicious. I also loved that they use what I would call "craft hot sauces" for you to try and let me tell you, they were really good! I can tell you we all had nothing bad to say regarding the food and service. Paula was fantastic. We ate outside on the patio but the inside was really cool not had this old diner feel but with a quirky nautical twist to it. I will warm you that for some reason they have an issue with flies outside and have done what they can to help alleviate that problem, so if you don't like flies and don't want to deal with that then eat inside. I won't in no way let that reflect my review as I'm reviewing their food and service. All in all, I really enjoyed the laid back vibe, the food was excellent, the service was great and friendly, what more can one want?! We ended the meal with a home made coffee cake and a cinnamon roll both which were delicious. If you're in the Oceanside area, make it a point of giving them a try. The service was for real on point, but the food unfortunately, was no bueno. We were a large party of 11- hostess was super chill and got us booths next to each other. I ordered the huevos rancheros. These were the strangest huevos rancheros ($9.95) I have ever had. Ever. The description said something along the lines of two fried eggs on top of corn tortillas and topped with rancheros sauce. What I got instead were eggs on top of A very fried corn tortilla, topped with rancheros sauce with unmelted cheese - super unappetizing and not the usual huevos dishes where the eggs + tortilla is simmered down to be wrapped into another tortilla. Oh man. No good. The pintos beans topped with unmelted cheese was also no bueno. To be honest, no one in our party was particularly impressed with the menu selection.
