12 oz. Angus Rib Eye w/ side of zip sauce
    Kimberly K.

My mother and I had concert tickets at the Music Hall and wanted to find a good restaurant within walking distance to the venue where we could eat and drink. Harbor House popped up and we both looked at each other and said Harbor House? I've passed it by several times and never noticed it. The reviews looked good and the food looked even better. While it is more seafood focused, the steaks are legit. I ordered a ribeye medium rare. It came out closer to medium which is still fine to me. I tend to order medium rare just for this reason. Every cook is different and their version of medium rare can vary. Our waitress suggested a side of zip sauce for the steak. Their zip sauce is delicious and definitely the best I've ever had. Including from high-end steakhouses. My mom ordered the crab stuffed salmon and it was excellent. The portion was huge. I feel like we could have shared the plate and still had leftovers. Our meals came with a dinner salad with and fresh bread. In addition to a side of your choice. I opted for steam broccoli and my mom chose Jasmine rice. We set up at the bar and enjoyed the ambience. The drinks were strong and reasonably priced. I had a Kettle One dirty martini for $10. Not sure but we may have been on happy hour. Either way for a downtown restaurant the prices were reasonable and the food was great. The only reason for four stars instead of five was the service was a little lackluster. We waited for a good 10 minutes before we were acknowledged. Then another five minutes before our waitress brought us a menu or our drink order. Not the end of the world but for it being an early dinner and not very busy the service could've been a little more attentive. Either way Harbor House was a great find with the location accessible to so many downtown venues.

Christmas tree in the waiting area

Had reservations for a Thursday night for 2. Went inside at reservation time and place was packed. Told hostess the reservation name, she looked at nothing, and said it's gonna be a 45 minute wait. Considered waiting, but after seeing the Christmas tree in 4 pieces on the ground of the dining room I can't imagine what the kitchen looks like. Went elsewhere

The waitress named "Brook" is the worst. She is rude and slow. And look at your receipt she puts a tip on it and she doesn't deserve it. Food is absolutely great, hands downs. Ambiance is nice.

I had the baby back ribs, shrimp, crab leg combo, and my wife crab cakes. Both dishes were delicious and the service was great.

Harbor house is more of an upscale restaurant. That sells top choice steak and seafood. It is a bit pricey but we'll worth the price. To drink I ordered the jumbo original margarita. Only $9 for a 24oz, and it was very strong. For an entree I ordered the double catfish Cajun fried with a Caesar Salad and an baked potato. The catfish wasn't too spicy and it was fried and seasoned perfectly. The baked potato came with butter and sour cream I ordered cheese on the side. My friend ordered three crab cakes for an entree that came with a mustard aoli sauce. Everything was delicious. Our server was very attentive and she was very helpful wand patient with our questions and taking our orders $$$ - pretty pricey 10/10 Worth it

Came to try this place on father's day. Made a reservation and was seated promptly. The website mentions they have lot parking, doesn't mention there is a cash only charge for it. Destiny was our server and she was personable. For some reason drinks aren't listed on the menu. why? Quick line about serving pepsi products will save your servers from repeating it to every customer. We start with bread and a cinnamon butter creation. It's ok if your into that. We were not. Next we had salads. Rather than apply the dressing to the salad they bring all these small individual containers of dressing. Seems like such an unnecessary waste. The fathers all had steak and shrimp which they seemed to enjoy. I had the shrimp scampi pasta. It was really just shrimp and pasta, no scampi flavor at all. I ended up taking all of this home to properly season it. This restaurant also adds 20% gratuity. I have no issue with tipping however... If your adding a mandatory gratuity make it well known from the start before ordering. Don't bring me a receipt to sign with a tip line when you've already included that. Additionally, when your server brings the final bill to sign bring back the detailed version so we can see the items charged at the same time. This seems a bit sneaky and an attempt to gain additional tip money.

They are shady with gratuity ! They totally add it right to your bill still . This must tip x amount is sick , i won't return until that's removed

1 .25 lb. Jumbo Red King Crab

Way overpriced for the amount of crab they give you. The lobster mac was great though. I'll give them that. Service was good too. Just disappointed by the crab and feel like it was overpriced

Was looking for seafood in Detroit and stumbled upon Harbor House. We called ahead and fortunately, there was no wait for our group of 4. We were seated right away. The restaurant is big and spacious, but a little dark. They served us complimentary soft, warm bread to start which my table of four devoured within minutes. I ordered the crab cakes for my entree. The crab cakes came with jumbo lump crab and a French ground mustard aioli. I chose broccoli as my side and added a caesar side salad as well. The crab cakes were tasty and the salad was fresh. My son chose the rattle steak pasta. It has tenderloin tips, peppers, onions, mushrooms, spinach, penne and cajun creme. It looked rich and flavorful. He ate it all. Our server was new, but he was fantastic. He was very friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The manager/owner also stopped by to check on our table. Great experience overall.

Nicole having fun eating crab legs

Four of us went for lunch all you can eat crab legs it was our first time at this restaurant . The crab legs were hot and fresh, it was a good experience. The waitress Jessica was friendly, nice and helpful. She was good at keeping the crab legs coming and having our beverages refilled. It was worth the price. I was the only one that didn't eat the other sides. Jessica serve was so good I give her more than a 20 percent tip. I will be going back real soon.

This spot was so awesome!! The service was exceptional from the moment we arrived. It's in downtown Detroit off Clinton and Brush. Walking distance from Greektown. Very quiet and chilled. Very much relaxed. The food was amazing! Babbbbby the steak bites, EXCEPTIONAL!! I don't know what seasoning they use, but it was aright with me! The drinks were also good! I plan to definitely visit again once I am back home in the D.

    Harbor House has amazing seafood!

Zero complaints about any of the dishes. My favorite dish was probably the artichokes and the steak. So delicious! The atmosphere at the restaurant was very fun and modern. You'll want reservations because it fills up quick. We were promptly seated and greeted my our waitress, Mary. She was very attentive and knows the menu. She explained every dish and made excellent recommendations. We all started out with an Aperol Spritz, because what says Italy more than a spritz!?! We ordered a few appetizers, artichoke, squash and asparagus. The squash was unique. It had pickled summer squash, a vegetable that I never considered pickling. Simply delicious. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and the sauce really enhanced it. Great side dish. I did not try the artichoke, but my wife and daughter both said they were amazing. For mains, I ordered the Aragosta fra Diavolo, my wife the Cappelletti and my daughters the Carbonara. All were delicious. The fra diavolo had a nice light kick of heat and loaded with lobster tail. Excellent dish. I highly recommend Shewolf. It's a phenomenal restaurant that takes pride in their food, service and the whole experience.

Our server was very welcoming and helped to set up our food order into courses that allowed us a very relaxing evening Cocktails were really good. I had a Last Word and it was very well done. The restaurant is decorated very nicely with warm wood trim. The bar area looked stellar and very French-bistro like. I will sit there next time No so Highs Food was good, but just OK. Between the two of us we had the beet salad, burger and steak tartare. Burger was good, but not the best smash burger that I've had. Beet salad was fine, however the cream cheese was a bit overpowering against the orange oil. It was dying for some citrus. Steak tartare was a bit dry, meaning that a small dab of olive oil would have added to the richness and overall mouth feel. I did not really taste the egg although I did see a dab of yolk on the tartare. Needed a bit of salt also to enhance the taste Menu was small, but it did cover a cross section of French bistro dishes. All in all, I thought it was a bit overpriced. So I will have to consider returning for a full meal. I would come back for a burger and beer at the bar.
