The hostess was great, but our server was awful, making snide remarks throughout our time there. First she assumed that we'd complain about the boneless wings being dark rather than light meat. Then she refused to allow our 50-something friend order a drink for her husband. Then she refused to split up our check stating she couldn't do it and we should have asked beforehand. I had planned to and tried, but was interrupted by her. I didn't catch her name, but she seemed to hate her job and customers. The food is overpriced and with the terrible service it's highly unlikely that I'll go there again. And there are still no healthy options on the menu and few vegan options---unless you want to pay full price for a meaty salad with no meat. The Hardrock used to have a fun, rock, vibe. I was surprised as to how much I enjoyed my last visit to Hard Rock. Our server Dan was fun, quick and efficient. I ordered their new spicy atomic burger and it was tasty. My husband got their jumbo app sampler and it was huge. Their drink selection is extensive. I'm not going to complain about the prices because there's always a markup at the casinos. Hard Rock Cafe at Foxwoods has a good thing going for them - decent bar and a great space. For all of the alternative restaurants (there aren't many) that aren't the usual casino food establishment, is where the touristy Hard Rock Cafe comes in. Their late night hours are just perfect for the droves of gamblers who frequent the place past midnight. The food on the other hand is a whole 'nother story, just edible enough to eat and expensive enough to keep wallets empty. The ceilings are ungodly high, almost like a church but with all of the usual memorabilia (album covers, records, etc.) and t-shirts no one wants to buy. The lunch hour is usually dismal on a weekday and barely there during the weekend. Usually the best time to come here is during the evening, when they're open late and when there is a good crowd. Service has been surprisingly chipper each time I've been here. Customer service has been good, everyone smiles, and they're attentive. My last lunch here was mediocre, but the service acknowledged the issues with my food and had it changed out almost as quickly as it was served. Over the years I've found a lot of restaurants at Foxwoods Casino to be hit or miss, but this Hard Rock Cafe tends to be fairly reliable. It's always consistent. It's my "safe bet" place to eat when I'm at the casino. I've been to only one other HRC (Shanghai China) so I hardly consider myself to be a Hard Rock expert or groupie. This place serves "Chili's-type" food. The menu is somewhat of a ::yawn:: but I'll typically try to order something on the healthier side. For example, I'll order a big salad or chicken fajitas. The layout for the restaurant is sort of unusual where there is one large open room with a high ceiling with a large bar in the middle. There is a smaller room on the side too. The rock memorabilia hanging on the walls was probably considered fresh when the place was built, but it's starting to get a little dated. They need some newer recent rock memorabilia in my opinion. Plus the memorabilia hanging 20 feet in the air is kinda lost because it's too high to see clearly. So what keeps me coming back to this restaurant? Two things. First, the bar is so large I can usually find a seat. Second, I actually like the music selection played over the speakers. It's a very good mix of both old and new music read more

To start off, we need to talk about the wait time. I had to wait about an hour to receive my food expecting it to be a cuisine made by Gordon Ramsey himself based on how long i waited. We made a reservation for 8pm to get some dinner, drinks and watch Collective Difference play. The restaurant itself was typically busy for a Saturday night but our waiter looked super busy. When he came over we order a beer and a signature hurricane drink. He told us the kitchen was backed up so there would be a wait on food. We decided to wait on the food because we wanted to drink and watch the band play. It was after 8pm and noticed they weren't playing so we asked why and he told us the band played one song and then decided to eat dinner in the middle of the gig. Also that many bands that play there are awful to deal with and demand free food/drinks etc. They eventually resumed at 8:30pm and did sound okay. Later I was looking through the menu deciding on dinner when I overheard the next table try to order nachos and the waiter told them he didn't recommend and that he personally thought they were terrible. So after that we decided to just finish our drinks and leave. We got dinner at Johnny rockets instead. We came in on a Sunday night around 9:00 and there were a few specials for football. $4 Bud Lights and Half price appetizers, but the choices were pretty slim on the food menu, which was surprising for a chain restaurant. We got 2 beers quickly then ordered some nachos a little while in. We were sitting there talking and watching the game and I realized it had been 25 minutes and no food, but one of the only other 5 people at the bar had gotten more appetizers from what they originally had. So I asked and shockingly, they came right out.. it's just cheese on tortilla chips and sour cream/beans. They were pretty good, but we never saw the bartender again, she totally avoided us until check time so we paid and left. Slow and poor service when there's no more than 10 people in the whole place? For my wife's birthday, I booked a table for a large group and confirmed in advance via email. When we arrived, we were told that unless we had half of our party, we could not be seated. I wish we knew that in advance. We were 1 person short at that point. We waited at the bar and soon others arrived but we weren't given our booked table. We went to High Rollers and then Caputo's to spend our money. Later we also went to Roadhouse at Mohegan Sun. Very poor process. If they sat us right from the beginning, we may have stayed and had our meal here. The bar service was good. We had a few drinks. Luckily we found other places quickly and easily. I had a chicken caesar salad that was big on salad and had an ok amount of chicken. Would've liked a little more cheese but it was ok. Dining companion got the cobb salad and that seemed a bigger hit. Lots of chopped ingredients. On prior visits, I've gotten chicken, wings and other items. And I've always left with the notion that I wanted this place to be better than it is. Service was up and down. She asked for our order and even brought over water refills without asking. I hadn't been to the Hard Rock in years. We are talking maybe 16 years or so, so my impression hadn't changed much from the first time I went. It's really the ambiance and nothing else here. You've never heard anybody say "Let's go to Hard Rock tonight, I love the food!" because the food in all reality, ain't that good. It's sub-par. What they bank on here is that you'll drink enough to ignore the glaringly obnoxious reality of the food - it's just "ok." My boyfriend got the Twisted Mac 'n Cheese with Chicken. He likes it. Nothing spectacular. I ordered the Little Rock Burger with bacon. Just a smaller version of a big burger. I asked for the burger to be cooked medium. It was more toward the well done side but not overly dry. The fries and burger were warm at best. When our food was delivered, we asked for ketchup. Had to ask again. And had to ask for knives as well. Our waitress brought ONE. Is there a knife shortage? I wasn't aware that we have to pay a cover charge to have more than one knife. Whatever. It's the novelty I guess. $75 for lunch was a little steep. But, I'm putting it out there. Foxwoods food choices are SO limited it's embarassing. Save yourself the trouble and just go to Mohegan. I would have had a better meal at Johnny Rockets if I'm being honest. Two and a half stars really but 3 because our waitress was very nice. read more

Great place with fantastic service! We had a party of 11 on New Years Eve. The waitress, was spunky, upbeat and obviously loved her job. She was attentive, personable and represented her company very well. The food was good, a little on the pricey side but you are in a casino... so you just grow to expect that. The drinks-also expensive so I recommend you look carefully at the menu to try to get the most bang for your buck. I got this cool little meddler thing that was a strawberry/ vodka / lemonade sort of thing that was delicious and I was able to get 6 drinks for $14.99. Not impressed with this one at all! After going to an awesome one in Montreal many years ago I had much higher expectations for this one. The food was mediocre at best and was very overpriced for what you received. (I know they hike the prices up at casinos and tourist locations but still!!!!) I had chosen the mixed super appetizer - pretty hard to get wrong but somehow it was very unappetizing. The drinks - you would think with a pretty decent size bar and band playing they could at least get the drinks right - WRONG - the mixed drinks were horrible. The waiter brought my bf's beer out and didn't even offer him a frozen glass or anything. The waitstaff didn't seem to care that you were there. We were left waiting at times for drink refills for what seemed like a forever! We will be going any place but here the next time we visit! read more

The bones were soft and I inadvertently was able to bite through it. Service was aggravating as the person at the door checks your ID and as the bartender (note: the bar was dead. 2 other people were already sitting at the bar, my friends who I was meeting with) watched the door person check my ID as I sat at the bar I was ID'd again.
