The food at this location was one of the best experiences we've had at a Hard Rock. Kevin was a great server, but dude, you basically scammed me into buying a hurricane glass. When I ordered my drink and you asked if I wanted it in a glass - I thought you were joking. I mean, of course I need a glass. I had no idea I was going to be charged $15.99 for a drink and a souvenir glass. Luckily it was the last day of our vacation and I was feeling generous. Went in for lunch, and there was a 15 minute wait so we decided to sit at the bar and have a beer. I ordered a Dos Equis and my husband ordered a Stella and something was seriously wrong the the draft system- the beer was not old or skunked, but smelled rotten and sou r. We let the bartender know that something was wrong with the beer and she argued and said the Dos Equis was a new keg. Waited an hour to get a table only to find out that they just weren't seating people on the 10+ open tables for some reason. Second time visiting Hard Rock Cafe Pigeon Forge and have not been disappointed. We sat at the bar this time to wait and the bartender, Northstar, was super friendly; acknowledged us quickly and explained the drink specials. We both ordered the platinum margarita, which was made super strong, but not too strong. And definitely yummy! We ordered a side of onion rings for an appetizer and they came out fairly quickly and were piping hot! They came with barbecue and ranch dips and both were excellent and tasted house made. We both ordered the big cheeseburger as a meal, which allows you to customize your cheese choices (up to 3!) which was delicious. It was fresh and cooked perfectly. I got the "premium" Guinness beer cheese fries as my side. It was a unique but delicious beer cheese. Overall, this is a nice location. They can tend to draw tourists as a chain restaurant, but they've got good eats. Service is great too! read more

Service: well after taking ou order we saw the waitress once to see if we needed water but not again until time to pay the bill, one member of our party never did get their order delivered. We had made a reservation for 7:00pm and we arrived around 6:45pm. We explained to the host that we were well aware of our early arrival but just wanted to ask to see if anything was open. With a snarky/rude response he told us that he wouldn't have anything open until 7:00pm, so to kill time we looked around in the hard rock shop. The shop was smaller than the men's bathroom and the items were bland, nothing id spend more than $10 on. Stood in the waiting area for a little longer and still had not been sat, their power went out and came back on multiple times and the host told us since the machines aren't working due to the power he couldn't serve us.....HALLELUJAH!!! But then again, so is Gatlinburg....They are always playing loud ,tacky, music(ie,YMCA) and you'll most likely have to wait for a table. Bought the souvenir glass for $4.99. Since we had dinner reservations for a dinner show some where else, we did not eat here, but menu prices were competitive for other local tourist places. This is Hard Rock's new location, moved in from Gatlinburg a couple of weeks ago. The service staff, I would hope are all new as well, as they were across the board not great at all. It took 3 hostesses and 6 minutes for our party of 5 to end up in a booth. The real ordeal started with me, a 29 year old man with a license that clearly states it expires in 2019 attempting to order a drink. Since my dog had chewed on one corner of my license I was informed that I could not use it to purchase a beverage here. The waitress drolled on on some long spiel about how it would be "just her luck" that the ABC would have a surprise inspection and somehow I would lose her her job. I can only imagine the complications from serving someone of legal age with a valid ID could bring down on her. Truly disastrous. When my companions' meals arrived we had a mixed bag of terribly overcooked vegetables and decently prepared burgers. I certainly hope their situation improves or it's just another subpar restaurant on the strip. read more

Honestly, we go here because its tradition. You pay for the ambiance. The music memorabilia is really cool, and each restaurant is unique. The food is basically what you would expect. It's decent, tastes fine, but nothing out of this world. Husband had the local legend burger, which was pretty good. I had the Caesar salad, which tastes similar to Outback's. Went in today for lunch and it was amazing! First time ever coming to one since I am from out of state and we don't have any back home. Walked in and was seated immediately and very nice and cool looking place. Very clean and kept up. Jesse was our waiter and he was awesome! Greeted us very shortly after we were sat and was quick with everything we asked him for. Always made sure we had what we needed and that our drinks were full. Food was amazing. It is a HARD ROCK CAFE for crap's sake, otherwise known as most crowded tourist spot/restaurant/trap in the world. My family and I got here late, around 10:30pm or so. There was live music when we arrived and the atmosphere was relaxed and upbeat. The food was very good. We had the large sample platter and grilled chicken mac and cheese. Was not disappointed with any of the food and wouldn't mind having that Mac and cheese recipe. The staff here is what really shines! I don't know who does the hiring here, but they hire top notch people! Our waitress was fantastic! We never had to wait for anything and always had a smile. The star of the night was a busboy named Howard though. Our five year old started talking to him while he was working on the table behind us and this young man could not have been better to my son. He talked with him and was very friendly. When we were ready to leave my son was looking around with a sad look on his face. We asked him what he was doing and he said he wanted to say bye to his friend. He walked to the kitchen door and the wait staff went and got this young man. He gave my son a hug and even posed for pictures with him as he obviously left a very positive impact on my son. My wife and I could not be happier with our visit and will return next time we are in the area. read more
