I'm glad I had gotten to finally try this spot especially after seeing Devour Power coming here so often. Needless to say their whole contactless operation was pretty smooth. We had done the waitlist thing and came to wait about 10 minutes for the next table to finish up. We had gotten seated and ordered our food online. I took about 20 minutes to make and everything is made to go. I had the hot thigh chicken sandwich and he had gotten the parmesan crusted burger. Both of these were okay, 6/10. It was just one of the spots that looks better in pictures than it had tasted. I think I had high expectations and was just let down cause it tasted pretty much regular. Harlem Public and I have a love love relationship. I took my best friend there to announce that she was pregnant in the afternoon with some drinks and amazing food. I've also been here at 4am drunk out of my mind. Regardless of my state of mind, the service is always amazing. The staff is awesome. The food is awesome. The drinks are.. you guessed it.. awesome. During the fall this pub was one of my go to spots! Their food menu is really fun, the service is quick and the drinks are interesting. I've tried a handful of the Appetizers (Mac and Steez, Doritos Quesadillas etc), Burgers (something Daddy and Grilled cheese!), and Drinks (twizler drink and pop rocks marg). These cool combos and recipes are always tasty and I can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can go back. PS. The portions are really big, two apps and one main to share is probably enough unless your shimzzed and starving PPS. The Mac and Steez is seriously delicious, like me and my fiancé literally order Mac and cheese everywhere we go to find the best tasting ones. Friday night was worth a climb to the end of the week as it is always difficult before it becomes easy. I was lured by the high praise by one of their signature cocktails as the reason for my visit, Twizzler Lemonade $12. The reviews of this drink is accurate. It was refreshing cool and contain one piece of Twizzler candy. The drink is not strong but a good consistency combination of Twizzler infused vodka and fresh pink lemonade. I actually enjoyed to the last sip as a nice cool down in summer's heat. After my visit I trekked to the nearest retail pharmacy and purchased one package of Twizzler candy. This business is easily accessible by 1 train at 145th Street subway station and walking distance in Harlem on Broadway intersecting between 148th Street and 149th Street. Outdoor seating is available in front of the facade with weather permitting. I always prefer indoor seating with air conditioner and without the boisterous loud sounds of street traffic while I imbibe my drink. There are no hooks under the bar counter for bag and jacket placement and the bar stool has no backing. The bottom of the bill embeds "suggested tip" of 20%, 22% and 25% ergo patrons do not have to calculate the arithmetic sequence. Credit or debit cards are accepted and will appear on billing statement as "TST HARLEM PUBLIC." My server Dawrlin M. is pleasant who produced a sincere smile during my visit and was attentive to check-in if I needed anything else. My female server who did not disclose her name did served me well as she was the one who initially welcomed me upon my entrance. It was the calm before the storm for a Friday evening. Based on my experience entering any restaurant, bar or cafe around 5 pm, as the power of one, I usually able to attain a seat. Dinning alone enables me the freedom to come and go as I please wherever the location, the genre of business, the day of the week, the time, the cuisine selection without waiting for anyone, without flakes or cancellations and especially without one dispelling negative complaints of dislikes. Are you a freak like me who frequently dine alone? How to cultivate sustainable happiness? I was able to sit at the bar comfortably, but my one complaint was their air conditioner was very weak and I still felt hot being indoors on a hot humid summer July. I ordered one platter of plain (no toppings) tater tots $7 which ate my fill as my dinner. I am always enamored for tater tots as it reminisce of my childhood of public school lunches. I am very traditional conservative who enjoys tater tots plain but only ketchup as condiment as I do not care what the world critique me as boring for plain and consuming without toppings. My first trip into Harlem and a delicious one at that. This place came highly recommended by a good friend of mine who lives on the upper west side and so all four of us went and had a great experience. First off, let me just say that the Peanut Butter Burger is insanely good. The homemade peanut butter and the candied bacon make such a fantastic flavor combination that I really think has to be experienced at least once. This burger was cooked a perfect medium rare and was so juicy and well seasoned too. The sweet potato fries are nice and crispy as well. The bun, was perfectly soft yet still held up to the toppings of the burger without being too heavy (not an easy task) Everyone loved their food too. My wife got the Parmesan crusted burger and loved it, and my friend got a salad, he swears by them too. And his fiancé, the brilliant woman she is also had the peanut butter burger. Absolutely love this place. Have been several times and always enjoyed every version of their outside-the-norm burgers, sandwiches and sides. Of course you have to try the peanut butter burger, it's truly unique and delicious. I'm also a big fan of their tots, and their sandwich with Doritos on it. I think I've lost count of how many times I've been to HP. The food is just too damn good and every time I visit I fall in love with something new. Finally had the chance to visit for brunch this past weekend and woah. First of all what the hell took me so long? Everything on the brunch menu sounds amazing but the BBLT with tater tots is special. Brown sugar cured bacon? Yes please! The avocado and sourdough were just a plus. I also tried the Cap' n Crunch French Toast and it was perfect. Very fluffy and not ridiculously sweet. As for drinks, since we were a group of 9 we got to try a few. The Janine's Berries was delicious and I'm not even a fan of vodka. The Brunch Adalyn was great as well - never knew cucumber could mix so well in a cocktail. The Peach Bourbon Iced Tea was good too but very strong. Honestly, whats not to love? HP quickly made its way to my top brunch spots and I will def. be back sooner than usual. What a great place to grab food and drinks with outdoor seating as well! They have an extensive beer collection. I tried the blackberry apple cider beer, which was good and not as sweet as apple cider beers I've had before! I really wanted to try the stout they had, but didn't get to it! I ordered the burger and fries! The burger comes with lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. They have additions for extra money like mushrooms, onions, etc. The bun was a great brioche with Harlem Public's name burned on top! As you can see, other yelpers have posted photos! Okay so for appetizers I got honey sriracha wings and it was a 5/10. Would not recommend. My friend got garlic parm wings and those were 0/10. Was not fully cooked and we returned it. My chicken sandwich was a 5/10, also wasn't fully cooked. My friend chipotle chicken sandwich was the only good thing which was a 8.5/10 and you can't go wrong with sweet potato fries. Solid neighborhood staple that I would frequent often if I lived in NYC. FOOD is impeccable. Think slightly greasy & totally hearty bar food. I had the Chipotle Chicken, which was grilled chicken, beans & corn slaw, pepper jack cheese and chipotle mayo on sourdough bread. I devoured the whole thing. My friends equally enjoyed the Wake & Bake, Parm Chicken Pesto and Parm Burger. They actually make the Parmesan part of the sandwich the bread instead of the meat. It sounds strange, but it's perfect; trust me. Fries were mouth watering, and I saw them pumping out wings like no tomorrow. SERVICE leaves a lot to be desired. I think the hostess was super confused on how to run the head of house position, and quoted both us (a party of 4) and the couple behind us a 30 minute wait. Less than two minutes later she seated them and kept us waiting. At one point, instead of seating us, she let a man (with a reservation? with his name on the list before us?) sit down with ONLY him out of his party of 4 present. He sat by himself for 20+ minutes. To add insult to injury, she then decided to separate two 2-person tables that were both empty and have us wait "a little longer" for a 4-person table since she said, and I quote, "told you guys the wait would be 30 minutes and it hasn't been 30 minutes yet." WHAT?!?! That's some serious shade and left a very bad taste in mouth. Normally I am no where near Harlem in a typical year. But I was in the area for a service and I was starving. Found this place on Yelp. I aimed to get food "to-go" but I ended up having a drink while my meal was prepared. I had strawberry cocktail which was really tasty. I ordered the PB burger, tots, wings. The tots were tasty. Burger is big and I think I ate it in 2 sittings. I am not sure if I am fan of the PB, the PB was a bit hard for me. I think if the peanut butter sat softer on the burger it would have been easier to eat. I kept getting the feeling that the PB was getting stuck to my mouth. Either way I did devour it all. I found myself countless times in mid-sentence telling my brunch guest "Hold on girl this my song!". At the corner of 149th and Broadway is where you will find Harlem Public and brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday from 11 am - 3 pm. Although they are known for serving up some delicious burgers, their brunch menu means business as well. They have your traditional brunch entrees such as chicken and waffles and French toast, but they also creative dishes such as Buffalo Shrimp & Blue Cheese Grits and Breakfast Poutine. Harlem Public is not a bottomless brunch spot, but they do have unique cocktails for brunch time such as Peacock Sangria, Peach Bourbon Ice Tea, and Maggie's Boozy Mintmosa. If you are a fan of the more classic brunch cocktails, they also serve mimosa and different variations of Bloody Marys as well. I recommend getting to Harlem Public early because this is a favorite amongst the neighborhood and with outdoor seating that is also dog-friendly seats do fill up fast. So this place is a winner all the way around.....I went in on a Friday evening after work.....when I arrived around 6 pm.....it was not too crowded....I was able to receive a booth seat by the window .......I went in for wings and a cold beer....but let me tell you all the food look great.... Another great brunch spot and so close to home! Harlem Public has been on my list to visit for awhile after hearing good things from friends and family who have eaten here before. The restaurant is located right on Broadway alongside a strip of other restaurants and shops. It has a trendy steampunk design with laid back vibes. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We made reservations using the Yelp waitlist option. I surprised at how smooth and easy it was to book the table. As soon as we arrived, our seating was available. The brunch menu has a nice variety of food and drinks; all of which sounded great! Once I spotted the Chicken & Waffles, I knew it was a must try. Easily one of my favorite dishes pretty much anywhere. The food did take a little longer than expected but I assume it's because everything is freshly made. The chicken was crisp and juicy; a perfect fry. The waffle was nice and fluffy! Together with the maple syrup and butter, it was perfection. I ordered the Peacock Sangria to go with my food, as well. I enjoyed this drink even though it was on the light side for me. Didn't pack much of a punch but it has a nice flavor. The pricing is decent and not exaggerated like some brunch spots.
