I am a Groupon customer, which is how I found out about Harmony. I bought the Groupon but when I called to book an appointment, the admin told me that the prices are available at the spa without buying a Groupon, so you can go directly through them. I bought a $40 deep tissue massage with back walking. The facilities: tucked into a small shopping centre, and a bit difficult to see from the street, but spacious inside. The reception area was modest but neat. There was a waiting area with chairs and magazines, but I didn't have to wait and was ushered right away into my room. I was in a room with two beds, both neatly prepared. The room was neat and calm. The massage: Once I was ready, my therapist began with around 15 minutes of walking. I had never experienced that before, so can't compare it to previous experiences, but felt that it did a fantastic job of working through some knots I my calves and thighs and lengthening my spine to prepare for the massage. The massage itself was thorough and relaxing. It was a very different technique than other deep tissue massages I have had - more quick strokes and not as much pressure and stretching work. I found this to be a more relaxing than productive deep tissue massage, especially because I have some serious chronic knots in my shoulders and back that take other therapists a long time of focused work to deal with. She managed my back, legs, arms, and face. I was particularly pleased with how he arm/hand and face massage felt and felt refreshed and relaxed at the end of the massage. The therapist also used hot towels to remove the oil from my body and did some massage through them, which I thought was a fantastic touch. She was not at all talkative during the massage, which I appreciated. After the massage, I dressed and she met me at the door with some water. I thanked her and tipped $16. She seemed very pleased with that amount and I was on my way. Note to the bad tippers who received disappointed reactions to their $7 or $8 tips here: that's a really lousy tip! I thought everyone knew that if there is a promotion for some service, whether massage, a meal, manicure, whatever, you tip on the Full Price, not the promo price. My tip was 20% of the regular $80 price for my massage. That is a reasonable tip. $7 on a massage normally $70 or $80 works out to 10% or less. Not reasonable. You're getting an hour of one-on-one service, so tip appropriately. The therapist likely lives mainly off those tips. TL;DR: good massage, nice hot towels, tidy if basic atmosphere, great deal, don't bother with the Groupon, tip on the original rather than promo price. read more

The person behind the counter (I assumed it's the owner ?!) was very unhappy that I bought it through groupon and claimed whatever I paid through Groupon, she only gets half of it. When I called to set up an appointment, she insisted that I take the 4 pm appointment and claimed only a few time slot is given to Groupon customer even though I requested for a later time slot due to work schedule and traffic situation. I obliged and by the time I got done and left the place, about 5ish, I'm surprised that I'm the only customer there ! Second issue is I bought a "One deep tissue massage with back-walking treatment" and she claimed I'm too small frame for a back-walking treatment. I told her I've already paid for that, but she couldn't care less and repeated rudely that "I've told you whatever you paid through Groupon, I only get half of it!" and hurried me into the treatment room. The difference was another approx $15 discounted Groupon price. I was determined not to let her spoiled my treatment mood, and went ahead with the massage first. I didn't want to waste my time talking with an unreasonable person ! Judy was an excellent masseur and I gave her a very generous tips ($10.00) even though I tell myself I will not come back to this place again! Very rude and bad customer service ! $35 for an hour massage is a pretty good deal. Everytime I've went they always do a good job. Those other asian places that offer similar prices are really inconsistent. They seem to know what they're doing here compared to those other places. They don't slap your head, put their fingers in your ears, or squeeze painful pressure points. Pretty awesome place. Went here for the third time and finally have time to write a review! This gem is located off Jacklin Rd in a pretty quiet plaza. I had arrived when they had just opened. The lady working the front desk was pleasant and went over the different services they offered. I usually go for the Swedish but decided to try Deep Tissue today. Amy was great! Eva hit all the spots during a 90-min deep tissue! One of the best ever. Downside is that the facility is a no-frills environment, simple decorum and basic waiting area. Low walls in massage rooms means you hear others as they come and go, can be annoying, like when the guy next door came and was talking to his daughter in the waiting area while he was waiting. But it was clean, and most importantly, it was a good massage at a reasonable price. $60 for 90min. I gave a $20 tip, which I felt was appropriate, but they made me feel it wasn't enough, and that left a bad taste in the end. Otherwise, I'll go back though. The great massage was worth the slight inconveniences and no frills ambience. Is $20 too little for 90mins? What's your opinion? I'm open to leaving more. read more

I have been coming here for years but will not be returning because of their horrible front desk staff. The front desk staff charged me extra for a $40 Deep Tissue (I asked for $35 Swedish). Let her know right away; she said credit card already went through but I could put the extra $5 charge toward tip. When I told her I would add $5 (making a $10 tip) she thought I was only tipping $5 total and said the minimum tip had to be $10. I said but you charged me extra $5 for massage and that should go towards tip. They are the only place that puts pressure on customers for tip and when I let her know that she said it wasn't for her-it was for the therapists. If you look at my receipt, 25% is already $10 so I don't understand why she said the Minimum tip HAD to be $10. Ended up asking for a refund and walking out. I always tip well but this is not the first time they have asked for more towards tip. read more

Dont let the look or the simple design of the place fool you!I've been to a lot of places and had a lot of massages, but this time i think was the best ever. It was my frist time going there and i needed a good massage that was inexpensive. They have this $35 full body sweedish massage,and their other prices are cheaper than other places. I wasn't expecting anything out of the ordinary. However, i was pleasantly surpised. The massuse named Grace was wonderful, I told her that it was ok to apply heavy pressure and my problem areas were my shoulders and lower back. It felt like a deep tissue massage and she worked out all my kinks, it felt wonderful yet hurt a bit when she hit certain points, but i felt the results afterwards and so worth it. No pain, no gain right? =P Theres a couple of downsides, and the only reason i gave 4 stars instead of 5: 1. the walls between the rooms have about a gap, walls are high enough that theres privacy, but you can hear the people next door if they are talking. I suggest you get a morning appointment or later on at night so its quiet. 2. you have to tell them what you want (amount of pressure, what areas to focus), otherwise they just say hello and start massaging. However, i dont know if this is just a one time thing or all the massues are like that. 3. Unlike most places they have you pay upfront. I didn't mind so much because they gave you the option of either putting in the tip on your credit card, or giving the tip aftwerwards in cash. They will have some kind of thing on the door for where you can put your tip. I paid upfront with just a basic 15%. If your looking for an inexpensive massage place compared to other places, and want to just get a good massage and dont really care on the personal chitchat with the massuse then this is the place for you. I will definitely go again sometime, and will probably give more tips instead of just 15%. =) read more

I wish I would be going back but they've ruined the experience for me. Last time I was here I left very happy and gave a 10$ tip. Today before my massage I asked for the 5$ upgrade to deep tissue. When she asked for the 5$ I handed her my card but she asked if I had cash because of a 1$ fee for card usage. So reluctantly I handed her one of the 5$ bills I was reserving for a tip. My massage was pretty good,only complaint is my massuse Judy could have her nails trimmed a bit shorter. When I went to leave Judy was not waiting for me with a cup of water like last time. Instead the front desk girl stopped helping the person in front of her to ask me how my massage was. I told her it was good and handed her my last 5$ to give to Judy. She then stopped me from leaving and repeatedly asked me to give judy more of a tip. At least 3 times. Even offered to NOW charge my card with no fee. If only she knew I am a repeat customer who ALWAYS leaves a good tip, then maybe she would have saved her words and not offend a customer. My husband and I have gone there a few times for body massages and once for foot massage. I'll begin with the body massages first. The massage itself is great. They apply just the right pressure and I always feel relaxed afterward. As for cleanliness, I have my doubts. One time I caught them not changing the towels (the one on the massage table) in the massage room. I was already 100% positive that they didn't and when I found a hair on the towel, that just confirms it for me 200%. I demanded that they change it immediately. Since then, I've been kinda paranoid and always checking their towels .. As for foot massages, you can tell that this is not their specialties. The pressure was light as if they were doing a swedish massage. If you are expecting the massage you get at a typical foot spa, then this is not the place for you. Another thing was their pricing. They have a sign outside that says "Foot Massage - $16.99/hr". When I called to make an appointment, I asked them if they still have the $16.99 special and she says "yes". When I checked in, she then told me that this pricing was for first time customers only. I told her that this is my first time at trying out the foot massage and she said "no, but you've been here before!". So I wanted this to be better than it was. Literally just got home from getting a massage from them. I call in to see if I can get an appointment. I tell them I heard of them from Groupon. They tell me not to buy it because their price in shop is cheaper for the deep tissue and that for groupon customers they were already filled for the day. I was also told I had to get an appointment because they didn't take walk ins. They do. So I got there two hours early. They took me in immediately. There was no one there. And when I say immediately it was seriously I walked in and signed my name and they took me back... no paperwork or anything. The place isn't that bad. Typical set up. The rooms are not separated by walls to the ceiling so you can hear everything going on in the place. The massage table and towels they use were not good quality. The head piece of the table kept moving and the towels were so scratchy I imagine they really exfoliated my skin. The masseuse came in and immediately started. No introduction. The massage was mostly elbows and a little super bony hands. Not good or relaxing. I know a bit of the techniques are taught in Chinese medicine so I didn't speak up for myself as I should have. But a few times her touch was so rough I jumped up and she kept going at it harder until I asked her several times to go lighter. She did have a hard time figuring out what I meant. Massage should not be painful the whole time! So about half way in she leaves the room without saying anything. I'm waiting like 3-5 minutes confused because I knew my time wasn't up. She had gone and gotten hot scratchy towels and she wiped the oil off where she massaged me. It was kinda weird but the rough towels hurt my skin. So whatever. She does get a few knots out. So at this point I wanted to leave them a 2 star review because the service was good (up to this point) but the massage was bad So afterwards I go to leave. The front desk woman asks me if I wanted to leave a tip. I gave her a few dollars. It wasn't good so I didn't really want to leave her one at all. She looks down at it and rushes over to the front desk woman who tells me that they gave me the Groupon price but that I should tip off the full retail price (which they suggest be $10 on a service I paid $40 for). I love this place! Been to quite a lot other massage places, Harmony has become my most favorite and frequently visited. I like the fact that their price is very reasonable, comparing to the other expensive ones. You get more for what you are paying for, and that's great for me! Each time I've been there, they did a good job for me. The masseuses seem to be well trained, and know what they are doing. I play sports a lot regularly, so having a good masseuse to relax my muscle is very important to me. Their massage is very nice. I tried several different kind massages that they offer, all pretty good. The masseuses seem to know how to combine the traditional chinese massaging into relaxing my aching muscle and bones. That's one thing in my opinion that's different and better than other massage places I've been to. I also have some joint pain from old injury, and their massage seems to have helped with that too. The ambience is pleasant, rooms are clean. It also helped to relax me when I'm under a lot of pressure and just want to have a good relaxation. The people are friendly. I bought the Groupon for Deep Tissue massage with Back Walking Treatment on Saturday and called to schedule an appointment for Sunday morning. After a very brief wait, I was led into a room and asked to remove my clothing, lay face down on the table and cover up with the sheet and blanket provided. The room was clean, dimly lit and relaxing. The massage table was clean and comfortable. I got a full 60 minutes of massage from Amy that included around 30 minutes of back walking. I have had my back worked on by professional physical therapists and never had it feel so good! The last thirty minutes was spent with more typical massage therapy, covering almost all of my body. It was amazing. When I left Harmony I felt like a million bucks. I will definitely be going back! By the way, I gave Amy a $10 tip and she (and the receptionist) seemed very pleased with that, so I don't know what all the tipping complaints are about. Being my first time getting a massage I called and was helped with any questions I had. I enjoyed the peaceful environment and had an amazing experience. Just OK. I've been going to $18/hr foot massage places that are noisy and provide NO privacy... so I've decided to give this place a try because they at least have semi-private rooms with proper massage tables. Also I'm frugal, so spending $50 for an hour massage at places like massage envy is more than i want to spend. This place had signs at street corners --- Spa $35 1 hour massage - so I expected to spend $35. I called to make an appointment for a deep tissue massage. They failed to mention to me that this would cost extra. Be aware, $35 is for swedish massage. deep tissue is $40 and up. I asked for someone who is strong and can give proper deep tissue massage. Bottom line: I ended up spending $50 ($40 plus $10 tip) for a massage that was NO better than the $18 place... both places use the same Chinese massage technique that very different from traditional European deep tissue techniques. The lady who worked on me (can't remember her name - there were only 2 women there) spoke NO English and was weak. She didn't get to any of the areas that i wanted worked on despite my attempt to explain to her by pointing to various places. Bottom line: I would not go back. I got the same massage as I did from the $18 foot massage place. In fact, I preferred the $18 place because the men there are strong and could work on my tight muscles better. read more

The experience at Harmony will not bring me back to this place again. the Good first: The massuese did a good job at deep tissue massage. the place is quiet and clean. The Bad: As you select your choice of a massage service, you are asked to pay right away. I said that I would pay after or I leave to another place and never come back. well, the receptionist still tried to justify for this practice. When it came time to pay, I used my credit card which happens to be my Health Spending Account, the receptionist withdrew from her desk a sign asking for $10 processing fee for FSA and insurance. On the webpage www.harmonytm.com, it welcomes FSA and insurance, but nowhere in the website does it mention this processing fee. A 25% charge on a $40 service is just too damn RIDICULOUS. This is a very shady practice of none-disclosure. Finally, to use my HSA credit card, I was charged $5 for being the 1st-time customer. Of course the massuese expected to get tip. To no fault of the massuese, I gave her the tip, but will not venture back to this place again. read more

After the massage they told him that the tip should be $20 which is $10 per hour. They told him that he was very large so they have to use extra power RUDE!!! I recently purchased a Groupon for this place, a couples massage to be precised. My BF and I desperately need a time to relax, having a 1 year old takes a toll on your body. When I saw the location for this place, I thought it was perfect because it was near by our place. After reading some Yelp reviews I told myself everyone is different and I should give it a shot. So I called them to set an appointment. Erica, whom I spoke to asked where I heard about the place, i said, I read up on it on Yelp (cuz that's where I really found out about this place). Then when I've already set the time and date, I mentioned to her that I have a groupon. Right then and there, she tried to change my appointment. I told her, I work by my schedule not by hers, and if she didn't have the specific request I have then she shouldn't have agreed on it. Erica said, well that time and day we save it for walk-in costumers. I was shock when she said that. Here I am, a costumer who spent $$ on their business but I'm not a priority due to the fact that I purchased our massage through groupon. She tried to convience me to change my time and day saying, she'll have better masseur on those days. But a min prior, I thought I was going to get their good masseur. After that I was totally turned off by the place. I gave it a chance to prove it self from all the negative reviews. I canceled my groupon and canceled our appointments. I had a 8:30 PM appt. I arrived at 8:25 Pm but wrote 8:30 since my appt was at 8:30 PM. I wanted a deeper massage than a deep massage so I asked how much was Acupressure and she told me 70 dollars for 1.5 hours. They had me pay up front which is fine. She than told me to take a seat, so I did. After 15 mins I asked the lady at the front desk is there a reason to why I am not in a room getting a massage. She asked me if I was in a hurry. I said No. So I sat there another 5 mins till I got into a room. I sat in the room laying down till 9 PM. The massage was terrible considering I thought I was going to get beyond a deep massage. It sure wasn't a Acupressure massage though. I don't even think it was a Swedish massage. The room was clean but being 6.5 tall I could almost see over the walls. You can hear everything going on in this place. I want to go back tomorrow just to ask for the the massage I never received.
