This is my very favorite Harris Teeter for multiple reasons. I would like to share today's experience. I was in the dairy section of the store and two employees Tee and Bryan (who were stocking the refrigerated coolers) asked if they could help me find something. I was looking for two particular flavors of Yoplait yogurt. Those varieties were not there. Tee went to the back storage and he came out with three boxes of the varieties I was looking for. Needless to say, I was elated! But what truly impressed me the most was the kindness and helpfulness of these two high school students. They both are planning to go to college and pursue degrees. Needless to say, I am sure they will excel in college and have successful careers. I stopped by to talk to Kyle, the Store Director about today's experience. I praised his store and his staff. I have never had a disappointing experience at this H-T. It is obvious that there is outstanding leadership (and team members) at this location. Where do i get started. My daughter went to harris teeters starbucks...well wont be going again to say the least. They went to the starbucks so happy to get a nice refreshing drink but little did they know what was to come. My daughter's friend ordered first it was a pink drink and a coffee. Well the coffee came out 40 minutes after they order but the pink drink is no where to be found. My daughter order a strawberry açaí refresher and it was literally water. Btw this happened when they were on the way to school which they left 40 minutes early to get starbucks and they were still late. Now this might not seem that bad but they served so many people who were way back behind the line. This is absolutely ridiculous. Horrible or slow you pick. read more

I have been doing pickup orders since I moved here in June and they are fabulous! In the beginning it was because I wasn't familiar with the store but now I find that it helps keep the impulse buys way down. The people who do the selections are awesome and I haven't had any issues, even with produce. Love the store too when I am in there. Helpful people and love the layout. read more

This was the WORST starbucks experience i've ever heard! Do not get ME STARTED. My daughter and her friend went to this harris teeter JUST this morning at about it 7:50, excited to get their yummy drinks before school, right? Not. The workers, (Ivan and Taylor) were HEINOUS! They did NOT show professionalism. HONESTLY, i'm not surprised. The harris teeter workers always have low effort. My daughter and her friend got the worst drinks of their life. The strawberry acai was STRAIGHT WATER AND RED FOOD DYE, and the coffee i'm convinced was just black coffee. DISGUTING! And did i mention that they ordered THREE DRINKS? Exactly. I hadn't been in this location in quite a while. I chose to get my CoVid vaccine here because they had same day appointments. When I walked in, I noticed a security guard leaning against a trash can. He was on his phone so I wasn't certain if he was on duty or not. The entry way wasn't very clean. It needed a good mopping. The pharmacist was very nice and I was given my vaccination. After that, I decided to shop for some things. There were many items that were out of stock and fruit and fresh produce didn't seem fresh so I wound up leaving without purchasing any items. We live in the area so come here regularly. My main complaint is with the prepared food section where we regularly picked up something to eat. Now the buffet style food is often stale and dry with excess amounts of sodium. The pizza was the worst! Salty, tasteless with an overload of the pizza tomato sauce base. If you compare the sushi with the Fresh Market, this sushi will fail miserably...yet it costs about the same. Harris Teeter could definitely do better . read more

Went to Harris Teeter to the pharmacy to get my medication. First time on Medicare. My medicine was $47. I asked the lady if it was different on good RX. She said we can only do one or the other. I paid my $47 and walked away. I went around the store and looked up good RX it was $23 cheaper. I walked back to the pharmacy and showed her. I have had other pharmacies look up good RX for me and show me what the difference is. But not her. After looking at other pharmacies around nearby I found it for $16. My problem is instead of helping me she just told me that I could use one or the other. I got my money back and walked out read more

This has to be the worst store in the HT system. The reasons are numerous, beginning with understaffed checkout stations with poorly trained checkout people. At peak traffic times there are only two stations open with long lines of customers at each. This is a regular occurance and it's maddening. Plus, management is dumber than a box of rocks. Yesterday, I needed a credit back to my card for an erroneous transaction at the self checkout station (self checkout due to the long lines at the TWO open regular checkout stations). It took three people 30 minutes to figure out how to issue a credit. Unbelievable! Never again. I'll shop at Lowes. It's a little further from my house, but worth the trip. read more

Been shopping at HT for about 20 years and I have finally had it. Their prices are high and their produce is some of the worst in Greensboro. I return a bag of Fresh Express lettuce that still had 4 dates left on the sell by date. It was turning brown and soggy. We moved here from Colorado about a year ago and when I learned that Harris Teeter was owned by Kroger I figured we would have similar experiences to the stores we had back in CO (King Soopers, also owned by Kroger) wow, I have been SO disappointed. My biggest gripe is the produce department at each of the HT's I've been to. I am appalled at how bad the produce is. I have found moldy produce on the shelves for sale. I have wasted so much money on produce that goes bad so quickly, strawberries and raspberries in particular, I will buy strawberries that look great and within 48 hours they are a moldy mess in the refrigerator. The apples are another frustrating thing, if I want to buy enormous, overgrown, tasteless apples I can buy them singly, if I want small apples I am forced to buy a 5lb bag of apples (and no option for small organic ones) where half of the 5lb bag is bruised from sitting in one place probably for a long period of time. I am also really displeased with the very few private label organic items. At King Soopers Kroger had a label called "Simple Truth Organic" and so many products with a name brand option had a Simple Truth Organic versions, here there are a few HT Organics options but not nearly as many. I would usually shop at the Lawndale or North Elm location and I am so tired of wasting money at Harris Teeter and am happy to have finally found Fresh Market. read more

I'm a long time fan of HT, but this location is disgusting. 1. It's filthy. One whole register line is used to prepare Express Lane orders so there are papers everywhere and today someone's coat was flung over it. 2. There are always long lines and the employees are so apathetic - nobody seems to care AT ALL that people are waiting. They move at glacial speed. Even the person who seems to be the manager looks up at the lines and then just walks away without pitching in or encouraging the employees to step it up. It's like they're all zombies. 3. The meat department is so gross. Cuts of meat look like they've been slaughtered, not cut by a well trained butcher. I just threw away over half of a steak that was inedible (photo posted). I've only shopped here because it's convenient to me but no more. This location is no better than a Food Lion. The positive reviews on this location (both from early 2014) are either from when there was a different manager, or they're not written by actual customers. Trust me, this place is vile. A wide variety of products and groceries. The staff seems on top of things and the products are high quality. When there's lot of people they open all the registers so check out never takes too long. Free samples are pretty standard here so expect a little snack. Prices are kept pretty low especially if you sign up for a VIC card. Overall, it's definitely a five star grocery store. read more

They didn't have half of what I needed. Banana Popsicles, boneless skinless thighs, unsweetened almond soy milk, and shelled soybeans. They only had one cashier. They didn't even open another line when she got held up with a coupon problem. I was in line 15 minutes. I had to have the cashier take my vanilla Popsicles back because they wouldn't make it home. The cashier was great but she needs a manager to respond to coupon problems more quickly and there should be more cashiers. read more

This store says it is "open 24 hours" but the manager does not seem to understand that. I have had two occasions where there was pretty much no one working. 1st occasion: I went grocery shopping late one night (probably 9:30-10:00 pm). I had a full cart so I did not want to use the self check out so I looked around and not one single person was at a register (there were hardly any employees in the store at all). I found the manager and asked if there was not someone who could check me out and she replied "well its 10:00" I asked "I thought this store was open 24 hours?". She said "Yeah well it is but....." and didn't finish her sentence. She then walked off annoyed and asked the only other employee working to check me out. How is there only one employee in the whole store and no one is at a register? That's ridiculous! They obviously need to staff the store with employees who are willing to work at night. 2nd occasion: I went to this grocery store at night (9:30 pm) to only pick up a few items. I already knew that nobody would be at any registers, which was fine because I only had a few things. I headed to the self check out and there were two people in front on me. There are 4 total self check out registers in the store. I literally watched the manager walk up to two of the registers and turn them off. Now there were only two registers left. One of the registers had a lady who had a huge amount of coupons and was going back and forth with the one employees who still seemed to be on the clock. So that register was basically backed up. The 2nd register was the only one that was in use. A lady was using the 2nd register and she kept getting an error message, but no employees could help her because the 1 employee working was helping the lady with the coupons. The line is at a stand still and I looked behind me and there must have been 10 people behind me now. While all this is happening, I am watching employees clocking in and out, no regard for the long line of customers waiting. Finally after about 10 minutes in line waiting, someone thought it would be a good idea to open the other two registers up again (the one's that the manager had originally closed) and the manager must have asked an employee who was trying to leave if she wouldn't mind checking some people out. I was just amazed to watch this whole situation. To think of closing two self check out registers when you only have 4 available is not very smart honestly. Things could have moved a lot smoother if that had not happened. I don't know this managers name, but she seems to work at night most of the time (an African American woman maybe in her 20's-30's). These are two instances where I have had issues with this store. It is convenient to my house so that is why I mostly go there, but the lack of care for customers and the lack of realizing that you are a store open 24 hours and not staffing adequate people during night hours is mind blowing. read more

I go to this store because of convenience, but I really don't wish I had another good close option. I thought it would be ok because I LOVE Kroger, and they're owned by them so I figured it would be similar experience, but boy was I mistaken. The management is terrible- there are constant lines at ALL times of day. I've been in the morning, during the day, lunchtime, after work, and late night, and no matter what there's always a line. There are frequent long delays for managers to void or price check or whatever, which further holds up the lines. Most of the employees don't seem concerned with the lines and don't try to expedite things. In addition, the produce is really hit or miss. I've had box salad go bad within a day or two of buying it, seen moldy fruit fly infested veggies on the shelf, and had bad shelf life with a lot of veggies once I get them home. Also, I heard from an employee that rather than discount produce and floral department, they just throw them away, and that there are boxes and boxes of food thrown away on a daily basis. So. Much. Waste. I wish there was a Kroger in this town, I would shop there exclusively. read more
