We had a nice dinner at Harry T's last night then stayed for karaoke and our server would not clear our table even though we told her we were staying. No worries we decided to put all the plates on a different table but still that should not be be a thing. I would give this place a 2/10 on a good day. If you want to buy in on a tourist trap this place is the place for you. They will get you okay food fast then find a way to make you leave. Despicable service today. Sat outside. We are locals and took our out of town friends there, as we have had a couple good meals in a row. Our server was argumentative, left us waiting for long periods of time (to the point we had to get our own drink), and messed up two of our orders. She continued to argue up until the bill came from everything from available menus to substitutions. I have to say I don't recommend this place any longer. Once again, Harry's did not disappoint. We brought our daughter back for her birthday meal and she left with a smile on her face. After our experience with Margaritaville and just trying to get a drink my husband and I walk upon this place. The hostess was amazing from the time we first walked in to the time we left. We told her we just wanted to get drinks and besides the bar she pointed ya to the upstairs area where we could get anything we wanted plus have a view of the bay. We get upstairs and our waiter immediately greets us and gets our drink orders. You know it's a good day when the restaurant has Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy on tap....WINNING!!! We sat here for a good 45 minutes to an hour before our girls found us. I asked for sodas for the girls and he was super great and didn't even charge us for them. We paid our bill and on our way. I've always recommended Harry T's for sunsets and boat watching but it's been a while since we've had more than drinks there. My husband and I got the Grouper a couple different ways, it was perfectly cooked with tasty sauces. Portions were huge so I got lunch the next day out of my meal. Lots of 40+ price points for grouper in the Destin area so was happy to pay less than that. Also, my wine pour was huge. I spent $30 on my dinner and then had to pay $20 to get out of the parking lot. It is a flat price no matter if you're there 30 minutes or all day. There isn't validation with dinner or anything. So, if you're solo and don't mind nearly doubling the price of your dinner, enjoy. Otherwise, there are plenty of other restaurants in the area that serve the same quality food at the same price point without parking fees. Am I bitter? Good not so good. 'Award winning' gumbo has almost no seafood, was mostly okra and sausage and was slimy. Served with supposedly corn bread that was more like a yellow layer cake square. We did have the 3 dips which we enjoyed. Drinks are steep. I did not enjoy my first drink which the server said ''well it's just x and y' even after I was gracious and told him to leave it on the bill and then ordered a different drink. I asked for another linen napkin since I soiled my original one and he brought us a roll of paper towels. Billing is electronic and the server stood over us while we paid and tipped. While edible, nothing spectacular. Wife had the fish tacos, light on actual fish, loaded with filler. I had the tuna appetizer, what ever they drenched it with made it almost inedible. We love, love, love Harry T's. ALWAYS our first meal out when arriving in Destin. The view is unmatched and the people watching on the water is great. Gumbo is always worth ordering. Shrimp platter is generous including hush puppies and fries. Slaw not worth eating. If you are in a group and happen to have a kid's table, it is fun to see the s'mores dessert delivered complete with a little fire to toast their marshmallows. Usually, one would expect the touristy food that permeates Destin and other vacation spots, but not Harry T's. The food is truly top notch, and the service is on point. I started with the Cream of Crab. What a fabulous dish. Really well done. Highly recommended. Next, I had the lobster croissant. Again, top notch...now it's a $16 croissant that should cost $12 anywhere else, but the view and the atmosphere is well worth the small mark up. This place was delicious!!! We had fried shrimp, kids burger, a side salad, the gumbo soup and mahi-mahi fried sandwich. The mahi was the best!!! The view is the real treat when you are visiting Harry T's. The restaurant is next to the water with great outdoor seating. We have been coming here for years. The Seafood Nachos are a great appetizer to share with 3-5 people. I had the Flying Harry T cocktail which was a very fun tropical dream. There is a good selection of other food & drinks as well. I will say I was disappointed to see that there were hardly any staff members wearing masks or following precautions.
