I was invited by a friend to try Harry's Restaurant for breakfast so we could catch up on life, and this was my first time visiting. Overall, it was a really nice experience. I ordered the build your own omelette with tomatoes, cheese, peppers, grilled chicken, and spinach. It came out hot, well seasoned, and cooked just right. It was very satisfying, especially the grilled chicken which was very tender and juicy. On the side, I had a biscuit and cheesy grits. The biscuit was soft and absolutely moist, and the grits were creamy with a good amount of cheese. My friend ordered the spicy fried chicken plate with a biscuit and also tried the sausage gravy bowl. I had a taste, and everything was flavorful but the chicken really wasn't that spicy at all. You can taste the spice, but it really didn't give a kick. The orange juice was absolutely fresh, which I really appreciated, it definitely stood out. Add ice thank me later that's just me. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the raspberry jelly, but that's just personal preference since I'm more of a grape jelly person. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the ambiance stood out immediately. They have a beautiful patio if you're into outdoor vibes, definitely a great spot for conversations , relax, and enjoy a slow morning with good company. Overall, I'd definitely come back. For a first timer, this is a great spot for a laid back meal with good food and even better vibes.
I loved everything about this place except the wait you can't make reservations in advance! Our wait was almost an hour but well worth it!! Once seated, it didn't take for our waiter to come over and take our drink order. That frozen passion was delicious and just enough to start the day! After, we ordered our breakfast. That pancake omelet was chefs kissssss it was STUFFED!! The service was great, very attentive waiter! The restaurant was very clean as well! 1000/10
We made online reservations before going there and it was more than an hour before we got our table. The place was packed and had lines waiting outside the restaurant. It's a beautifully decorated place with bright colors that make you feel good. We ordered their Larissa plate, eggs Benedict, regular French toast, baklava French toast and some drinks. Everything tasted great but the best was their Baklava French Toast! What a great twist to the regular French toast. The server was good and very knowledgeable about the menu. When we complimented him about it, he said they have to go through a test to prepare themselves, which we've not heard of before. The owner of the restaurant was a really nice old man who was walking around the place, greeting all his customers and having a smile throughout. I would definitely be back here again!
If you have a group, get on the wait list before you arrive and ensure your party is complete once you check in. If two or more at the table drink mimosas, I recommend ordering the full carafe. You cannot go wrong with any of the food options and if you want to try different options, the portions are huge so sharing is caring. Harry's Restaurant is know for their bread which is thick and fluffy. Personally, I think the best way to eat the bread is have them slice it in half and toasted. As for the Spicy, Honey glazed chicken, go for an extra bit of crispiness, it will not disappoint. It gets a bit chilly on the inside so bring a light jacket or sweater just in case.
My waffles and spicy chicken were delicious. The chicken sausage and pancakes were good as well. The wait time was only 10 minutes and a great option to other restaurants in the same area. Service was quick and efficient. The tables are nicely spaced but was so hard to have a conversation. Adequate free parking adjacent to the restaurant.
I've been here twice. The first time was a while back where I had the chicken and waffles. It was solid but a little pricey at $18. This time I came back with a group of people and had the baklava french toast, $15. Also tasty, but just didn't live up to my expectations. Overall the service is good, the food is solid, but the prices are a little high for my tastes. Props for keeping my water glass refilled, and all the other people I was with seem pretty happy with their food and service. Depending when you come, this place can get pretty crowded. I recommend weekday mornings if you don't want to have to wait. Harry's is also a great place if you want to run into someone In the world of Houston politics at breakfast.
Stopped by Harry's with a group of friends, and we made sure to join the waitlist before arriving, so we didn't have to wait long to be seated. I ordered the Chicken & Waffles, and they were very good -- the chicken was well-seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the waffle was nice and fluffy. I also tried my friend's chilaquiles divorciados, and those were delicious too. The sauce had amazing flavor. Overall, I can definitely see why this place has such long wait times -- it's absolutely worth the hype.
don't let harry's fool you! it's always busy.. but why?!? after seeing the parking lot constantly packed and it always looking busy, i finally decided to see what the "hype" was all about. and it was definitely just hype. the server was really really nice and that is the only reason i gave 2 stars-- i wish i could remember her name! the hostess, an older woman.. was more of a warden and less of a hostess. she was not friendly at all. as she walked back and forth in the dining room, i did not see her smile once (not that i needed to see everyone bearing teeth in joy...but lighten up!). i also felt like she was overseeing what drinks were brought to our table... i only ordered two espresso martinis, and there was still a third of my first one in my glass when the hostess ran over to my table to remove my first glass because a second glass was dropped off.. and why would a hostess be overseeing what is going on at the tables? that is well beyond the scope of a hostess. i assume this "protocol comes" from ppl i guess taking dipping containers or something.. there are signs on the door spotlighting that behavior as "stealing". in addition to a warden-esque hostess, the food was boring AF. the flavors were flat and if a restaurant can't get a hollandaise sauce correct.. why would one ever return?! now, please take this review with a grain of salt. this may have been a horrible day for harry's, and they very well maybe, the best place in midtown for brunch... but i will not be returning. dining out is far too expensive to patronize businesses that do not make me feel accommodated or welcome. if you decide to visit harry's, i hope that you have a more pleasant and welcoming experience! bonne appétit
Enjoyed brunch with the girls! Service waa quick but you do have to wait for your entrie party just fyi. We had margaritas and mimosas. For entrees I got the spicy fried chicken with a biscuit and hash browns. The waiter suggested I got my biscuit grilled and it was PERFECT. Others at the table were the perfect combo with French toast and home fries and the spicy fried chicken and kale. Everyone enjoyed their food. Our waiter was the best! We will all be back again to try some more highly recommended dishes.
Mid. I live in Mexico and honestly food is better over there, fresher ingredients, vibes etc. Sysco + US foods provides lowest grade food for every single restaurant in America, and guess what? It all tastes bad. Maybe my standards are raised because Mexico buys from local farms (what the norm should be), but here ? I expected to get cherry tomato's for my eggs... bro. It was pico chopped tomato's... literally so gross. Then they accidentally put another customers plate in front of me and I almost walked out cuz I thought it was mine...it looked so disgusting. Skirt steak? DONT GET IT. Belongs on boots in Cavenders. The server was nice but not too fast with service. Anyways, do what you will but America and corporations need to do better.
Harry didn't meet Sally, it met Cabo. We had a wonderful experience at Harry's. The ambiance, lighting, decor, textures, and bar area were all exceptionally well done. For our meal, we had the American Filet, crab cakes, filet tacos, and seasonal vegetables. The bread with rosemary to start was heavenly, and the dipping sauce for the steak was light and delicious on our veggies. For dessert, we considered the chocolate lava, carrot cake, Harry's cake, and homemade ice cream, which all looked decadent. We were then pleasantly surprised with well-presented cotton candy at the end of the meal. Luis and Danny were the dynamic duo team. Their service was 5 star! I have been coming to Cabo for over 30 years. It is a delight to see so many new places popping up. I do miss much of old Cabo but there is no going back so trying fun, new places brings a since of freshness to a very familiar place.

I decided to try to establishment on a Sunday morning. We arrived there around 11:45am. Our wait was estimated at 40 minutes, after an hour of waiting I made my way to the hostesses for an update. She advised me, we should be seated within the next five minutes. FYI, I saw a few empty tables in view. We were seated and our server immediately introduced herself and took our order. The ambiance was casual and comfortable, definitely kid friendly. Our food came in an ample about of time. This by far is one of the best breakfast restaurants I had in Houston so far. The food here is pretty good! This is the place to see The Who's who of Houston. The pancakes are probably the best I have had. The bacon was good but not Waffle House good. Otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars. The service here is phenomenal, but it gets extremely busy on the weekends. This is great place to have brunch on the weekend and the ambiance is elegant. read more
Harry's was a great time and really good food! The service was exceptional. We had a party of 14 and everyone was pleased, the service was timely and she was very nice! The ambiance was cool. Regular brunch place with a bar. Nice touch having a bar you can sit at too. The food OMG amazing. Omelette, pancakes, grits, chicken and the biscuits delicious. Sliced and toasted on the grill was the best. The jam appears homemade, it is full of flavor. Great experience! read more

Food 5/5 Service 3.75/5 Ambiance 4/5 Went for brunch on a Sunday morning, luckily we were seated right away for a party of 2 and it was before 10AM. Any arrival after would definitely guarantee a wait. We sat outside on the porch area. There was decent airflow and they had fans to help with circulation. The table was a bit wobbly but nothing a few folded napkins couldn't fix, if you know the trick. The downside of outside, or just our waitress in general, was the service seemed a bit slow. When our waitress was serving us she was very friendly. She did ask my opinion on my food order and then told me after I got my food, my thoughts and that it's a hit or miss dish. It made me a bit apprehensive. For reference I ordered the Merenda Hotcakes. I'm a sucker for banana pancakes and they did hit the spot. My only critique would be to put the chocolate sauce between the hotcakes so the chocolate melts and can be distributed with each bite, instead of one big glob on the top. I ended up flipping my top pancake over to make a pancake/chocolate sauce "sandwich" to ensure chocolate and banana in every bite. I needed some protein and also had a side of sausage patties which were good as well. Also at the table chocolate chip pancakes and bacon, very tasty per my sister. Would definitely return, as this place seems to be a brunch stable in the area. read more

Our server, Gabriela R, was so real and attentive. I ordered a FROZEN PINA COLADA, the Churrasco Platter with lamb chops, and hot chocolate. The Hot Chocolate was DIVINE !!! You can tell it was made with real milk and love. I loved the lamb chops , they had a very neutral flavor that emboldened the flavor of the lamb. The achiote was soooo good, I'm so happy that the Sims 4 put me on to Ecuadorean Potato Pancakes. The pina colada was perfect ! Just enough booze to taste but mostly tropical fruity goodness. 10/10 place read more
Note to everyone: Harry's is almost always busy for breakfast and brunch - and on holidays when everyone is out-of-office, it's jam packed ... exclamations pointtt. Our expected wait was 30-45 min; our actual wait was 1 hour. Another tip is you can hop on their waitlist from their website. Ugh, it's Google. (Wish they used Yelp Waitlist!) We started with coffee drinks and ordered the gyro plate with a side of fries and the Spitiko (a Greek-inspired omelette with feta, mozzarella, green onions, spinach, and tomatoes with a side of hashbrowns and a biscuit). I asked for no mozzarella, and unfortch when the food came out, it had mozz. In a fainty state, I just kept the plate as is and picked off what I could. Service was good, food is good; I just don't think it was worth that wait. I'll give them another try on a slower non-holiday. read more

Great food! This was my second time eating here, and both visits were excellent. The first time I tried the spicy fried chicken plate, it was delicious and came with a great portion. This time I got the BALT wrap, which was super fresh and flavorful. The service is always excellent friendly and quick. Definitely one of my favorite spots! read more

I usually stop by Harry's at least once for breakfast every time I'm in Houston because it's my friend's parents' favorite early morning spot! We always asked to sit in Melina's section because she knows everyone's orders and treats us so well. Today we came in with a group of 5 around 7:45 and were seated immediately at one of the low tables near the bar area. I wasn't super hungry so I got the Churras-quito menu item instead of my usual Churrasco Platter; my favorite thing to get here are the llapingachos, which are delicious Ecuadorian potato-cheese patties. I've never had them anywhere else but I love the ones at Harry's, super cheesy, flavorful, and texturally interesting. The smaller entree also comes with a refreshing little side salad with avocado and a link of grilled jalapeño-cheese sausage, which has an excellent char. In the bigger platter I usually get the baby lamb chops -- they're a little pricy but the lamb is very tender. I also always get the fresh squeezed orange juice and it really hits the spot. Our food was great only thing was for my plate I had chicken and biscuits and it did not come with gravy which I found weird so had to order it additional. My kids had the pancakes and weren't too impressed they were pretty plain. My husband had an omelette and said it was the best omelet he's ever had. Our waitress was really good for her work environment being so busy she was on top of everything. Speaking of the environment if you plan on eating here give yourself plenty of time and I would recommend not have a big party. We waited an hour and it was just 4 of us. This place is busy and for a good reason! Everything we had was amazing. The baklava French toast was perfectly sweet. The ice cream adds a creamy sweeet topping to the nuttiness of the baklava flavor. The spicy chicken plate was loaded with so many good things. The churras-Quito was amazing. Yay, got to try Harry's!! So many years of driving by, always rushing to get somewhere. But now I totally get why there is always a line out the door here. First, the service was just delightful. Our waitress was a ray of sunshine, efficient, friendly, and knew when to check in and when not to. Hard to find, gotta say. The sunny side up eggs were perfect. Nothing beats a beautiful runny yolk. The bacon...OMG, perfectly crispy thick cut slabs of cured goodness. Another OMG dish was the grits (forgot the pic, sorry). Yes, the grits. Creamy without being too buttery or greasy, well seasoned...so good! read more

One of the best brunch experience I've had in a while, despite the long lines that greeted me when I arrived. It was about a half hour wait until I was able to be seated, but the food and service was worth every bit of the wait! I ordered the waffle and spicy chicken while my friend ordered the spitiko omelet. When the plates arrived, I was shocked by the portion size; let's just say my order ended up serving me for two nice filling breakfasts instead of one thanks to my air fryer at home. I definitely felt like I got value for my bucks when dining at Harry's, and I was thoroughly taken care of with my every need during my dining experience thanks to the attentive staff. My friend and I unknowingly talked till closing time, and no one bothered us during our conversations, and it wasn't until we saw that the staff were cleaning the tables and flipping up the chairs that we suddenly realized the time and got up to leave. It's not often that you see such accommodating service at popular restaurants, and for that, I wish I can offer an extra star! I regret finding Harry's so late in my search for Houston's top brunch spots, but it has certainly made a lasting impression and rose to be one of my favorites quickly. I'm looking forward to returning again in the near future. read more

Coming here for breakfast is always a great decision! The service is fantastic, the staff are very kind. The menu has all the breakfast classics and the margaritas are strong. This time around I got the American classic- eggs were nicely scrambled, home fries were a little crispy and not too salty, chicken sausage was juicy. The biscuit is always a must- especially toasted! Will always recommend this spot for breakfast/brunch. read more

Came here for the chicken and waffles because it looked good. I waited over an hour outside because it was that packed and honestly that's always a good sign when it comes to restaurants. I was seated and our drinks were brought out right away that was basically the only good thing. After that the service was just downhill. They brought us out our appetizers 30 min in between.. first was the fried yucca balls then the gyro French fries. The yucca wasn't very good it tasted bland. The gyro fries were actually very good this is the reason I'm giving it two stars. I got the fried chicken plate which was only dark meat and the potatoes were kinda hard and bland. For the over all wait, service and food it was not worth it. Save your money and go somewhere else.. (also they don't have ranch they don't have buffalo sauce for the chicken) big no for me read more

Harry's is a solid breakfast/brunch restaurant! I was looking for a place that was open pretty early for a week day brunch ~ 9am ish so was pleasantly surprised to see they start service at 7 am. The restaurant is very modern and clean inside with outdoor patio seating as well. Lots of parking in the lot and side street parking as well. The service at the restaurant is on point. We were greeted immediately upon entry and met with our waitress shortly after. Their drink and food menu has a huge variety of options which makes it a great choice for a picky eater. I ordered the spiced latte for my drink which was delicious! Just as the description said, not too sweet at all. The latte artwork was very cute for aesthetics as well. For my meal I ordered the spicy chicken (thigh) and waffles which I really enjoyed! The waffles were fluffy and soft and the chicken was super juicy/ not dry at all since it was a thigh piece. They also drizzled a hot honey like sauce on the chicken which paired well! read more

The ambiance here is business casual, a little more formal than your average family diner. It's a nice, upscale, and fresh option with lots of bright light. They open early too, which is a plus for early risers. That being said, it is rather pricy for the food. The food did not particularly wow me, it was average, especially for the price. That's fine, because margins are expected, especially for an aesthetic cafe, but a guest doesn't come in for specialty food, they should at least come in for the service. But even the service was mediocre. Our server did not seem like she wanted to be there. She forgot our sauce requests several times, did not bother to greet us or have any sort of conversation with us, and otherwise seemed unfriendly. read more

What time does the crowd usually start coming on a Sunday?
I would recommend being there by 9:00am. After that you will probably have to wait for a table.
Is it closed? I went today and there was construction going on but it says it's open.
It reopens tomorrow, October 2nd. Can't Wait. Will be there.
