We waited the full time -- and yes, it is extremely busy on Sundays. Once inside, the process is a bit different from traditional table service. You're seated with a large menu, then you get back up to stand in line to place your order at the register. Drinks and coffee are ordered separately, and you pay upfront (with an automatic 15% gratuity added). After that, you return to your table and wait for your number to be called. At first, the flow can feel a little overwhelming -- especially after already waiting 90 minutes. However, here's what stood out: The wait is part of the experience. If you do not have time, this may not be the place for you on a busy Sunday. But if you plan ahead and prepare to spend some time, the reward is absolutely worth it. The food is fantastic. The quality is excellent. The pricing is fair. The staff is kind and welcoming despite how busy it gets. What truly made the experience special was the personal touch from the chef. She made herself available throughout our visit. I met her at the entrance when we first arrived and recognized her from an article I had read. She was incredibly kind and has a wonderful personality. The hostesses -- three or four of them -- were fantastic. They greeted us warmly, were patient, and thoroughly explained the wait time and ordering process. They made sure we understood exactly what to expect. As for the atmosphere, it feels like a blend of concepts -- a little homestyle restaurant, a little coffee shop, a little brunch café, all under one roof. When you pull into Harvest Kitchen and Bakery, it just looks like any strip center restaurant. But when you open the door, WOW-it is so beautifully decorated it kind of took my breath away-just because it was so unexpected. The friend I was meeting for lunch knew to join the waitlist (even on a kind of random Monday) so we were able to get in line right away. I was glad I was with someone who had been to the restaurant before because the procedure is different than most restaurants. You join a waitlist, and when your name is up you are given menus and then stand in line while looking at the menu-beautiful pictures (check out their web site) of every dish-it is a LOT to go through while in a short line. After ordering at a counter, you are given a number and your food is delivered. The plates look gorgeous-just like the photos, and everything was delicious. Clearly they take a lot of pride in their restaurant and it shows! So why am I not giving 5 stars? The food deserves 5 stars-it is very good. The prices were a bit high in my opinion. I had a brisket grilled cheese which came with a cup of soup and small salad. This was $21. After adding a drink, tip was automatically added (even though it was not really a table service restaurant) and tax, my bill was nearly $30. I thought this was a bit high for lunch. And since there was a tip added, I expected some table service, but other than bringing out meals-there really wasn't any. No one checked on us, offered more drinks (even water). I live in Montgomery county area and Katy is about 45min drive for me. I did the waiting list provided here on Yelp. It is highly recommended as I was number 22 at the time of setting up wait list. So keep in mind where ever you're located you may want to do this and not just show up and hope to seat down right away there will be quite a few people ahead of you! Parking was not an issue here. The hostess are very kind and sweet. They will walk you to your table with a sheet paper with your name and number of ppl on your table. The paper will also notify the cashier/cooks of any allergies or special requests. The menu is given to you when you are at your table gives you time to look over the menu there are several options. Once ready you order and a separate line and go back to your table and your food and special drinks are delivered to you unless you decide you want regular coffee, tea or water there is self serve stations available to you. The food comes out hot and fast. Waitress would come by and make sure everything is okay with your order as well. I was very pleased with all the options I had ordered plus I love the real flower details on meals. They do have a sign on table to be mindful when it's very busy to try to limit your stay to 60 minutes. The outdoor patio area was very beautiful as well with great weather I would recommend! It comes with a small cup of salad, but still not worth it. And the chai has a LOT of cinnamon powder that it was kinda grainy. Matcha was alright, but I wasn't able/allowed to lower the sweetness so I assume it's from a concentrate/lower quality matcha powder that comes pre-sweetened. The berries were sweet and fresh. For the chicken tender, I chose medium as my spice level and that was just right. The seasoning is like the nashville hot seasoning. My sister's vegan magic mushroom sandwich was hugeeee. Mushrooms were fried to perfection, and they had a nice kick to them as my sister opted for the hot spice level. Even the potatoes were massive, and the skin was extra crispy. Harvest has gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options available. They truly cater to everyone and ensure that each dish is of the highest quality. This place can get packed, but they really have a great system going on to ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently. You can place yourself on the waitlist ahead of time and check in with the stand right outside the entrance when you arrive. We ordered up at the front and were informed of which table to be seated at. If you're going in a group, the whole group has to order together. You can't order first and then wait for your other friends to come and order. Additionally, there was a 15% dine in fee. The total for 4 dishes before the dine in fee + tax and tip was $76. After all the additional fees, it was $96. Harvest just keeps getting better and better- with the presentation and selection of their food and menus. Their online menu has pics for nearly every item! The in store menu also has some great photos. Service is phenomenal per usual. Chef Lori is so gifted in what she does, and she is so personable!! I don't know what wizardry they're brewing back there, but it's so smooth it should come with a warning label: may cause lifelong Starbucks resentment. Then came the peach French toast, which was basically dessert dressed up as breakfast. I'm not saying I teared up eating it, but I'm also not saying I didn't. The biscuits & gravy? Buttery biscuits smothered in gravy so rich it probably has its own offshore bank account. The eggs. My god, the eggs. Fluffy, perfectly cooked, and seasoned just enough to make you remember why eggs became a breakfast icon in the first place. Not rubbery, not runny, just golden perfection on a plate. Honestly, even the chickens would be proud. And then...the brisket breakfast tacos. Let me be clear: these are not tacos, these are a spiritual awakening. The brisket is smoky, juicy perfection, wrapped in a tortilla that somehow manages to hug your soul. If brisket tacos were an Olympic sport, Chef Lori would have more gold medals than Michael Phelps.
