We went to Harvest for a nice little gals brunch and it's the cutest little place at the Oceanfront! Perfect for summertime (we sat outdoors)! When you walk in, you go up to the counter to place your order and you pick up your food there as well. There's no hostess or anything so when you get your food, you sit wherever there is seating.. first come first served! There is some indoor seating on the first floor as well as some outdoor seating, both first and second floor! There is some coverage upstairs if you don't want to be completely in the sun, so that was nice :) The doors were left open to the indoor seating area so it was a little warm. There was a nice breeze when we went, so it was actually much cooler eating outside! When you walk upstairs they have a bar and a cute little plant wall! Around the corner there's some comfy chairs to hang out in as well. There was a good variety of food on the menu! Lots of drinks and smoothies to choose from as well. I ordered the chicken tacos which were ok to me. It was a little heavy on the sauce and it was a little spicy! I kind of wish I asked for some sour cream or lettuce on the side to balance it out a little more. I didn't get the chance to try the other dishes in the pictures since they were my friends', but they looked delicious! This place is definitely a vibe and apparently they sometimes host events! Definitely a cool place to check out if you're looking for a nice bite to eat down by Oceanfront.

Opened off season if you're looking to have brunch and drinks while in the area. Seating can be limited in the restaurant but the open air rooftop provides a great view as well as additional space for seating and hanging out. Coffee was good and food was fresh. The french toast was quite unique and delicious but also rich in flavor. generous portions for fair price.

I am a big fan of Harvest. I was first introduced to them from the "2022 Coastal Virginia Coffee trail" this summer and I've been impressed ever since. (Their Vanilla Lavender Iced Latte was one of the better ones on the coffee trail) Their food is fresher and of better overall quality than quite a few other places in the touristy Oceanfront area. The two sandwiches I had were amazing. The herb chicken ciabatta had an amazing chipotle aioli and the ciabatta was heated just right so it was crunchy yet soft (cause chile I hate a hard-ass ciabatta). The Buffalo Chicken Sandwich had the right amount of heat-to-flavor ratio and the chicken was nice and crunchy without being dry. Furthermore, It should also be noted that they make good smoothies. My "Blazing Star" smoothie was nice and thick and not too sweet. All in all, the food here is très fab. I also want to add that they have very attentive and friendly service, and the rooftop upstairs has a beautiful view of the oceanfront. Definitely put Harvest on your list if you're visiting or live in/near Virginia Beach.

While walking boardwalk strip around 10:45pm on a Tuesday night, I came across Harvest because of music playing from the rooftop patio. I did a Google search and it said they closed at 10pm. The sign outside also confirmed that. However, the door was open and I saw two ladies walk upstairs. I went upstairs too and there were several groups of people. I went to the bar and looked at the menu. The patio area is really nice! They have regular tables for eating and sitting. They also had couches and even swing type seating. I have no idea the proper name for it. You could see other local business from the roof, which was pretty nice. I ultimately got "Surprise Me", which is perfect for me because I can be indecisive. This drink means that the bartender just makes you something. He asked me what type of liquor I like and I told him Vodka. He asked if I like sweet and I said yes. He made it extremely quick. I looked away for a second and was done. It was red in color too. I grabbed a straw and took a sip... Y'all, it was nasty. At first, I thought he put something with coconut in it. I dislike coconut. After he said he didn't, I asked him what was in it. He said it was Vodka, sprite, and grenadine.... This was not unique at all. He gave me a basic ass drink. I'm not making any assumptions... but I will state that I made the observation that my friend and I were the only people of color there... Take that how you wish... So yeah, I didn't like it AT ALL... but of course, I drank it. My #1 rule with alcohol, is that you don't waste it!! So, I just sucked it up and drank it, lol. Plus, I really didn't want him to make me anything else. I thought about asking for him to add some juice but opted not too. As I sat at the bar and forced the drink down, I noticed bartender flirting with a young lady who had apparently been there previously from my minor eavesdropping. Serious question... is it eavesdropping if they're talking loud enough for others to hear? Idk. There was one memorable part of their conversation that was funny because of the girl's reaction, but I won't put him out there like that LMAO. I don't know his name anyway. But to continue with my story, the "Surprise Me" drink left a horrible taste in my mouth. I got another drink that I saw while browsing the drink menu called "Blue B Crush", which is blueberry vodka, lemon, fresh berries, and simple syrup. Unfortunately, I didn't really like it either. However, it was better than my "Surprise Me" drink. I realized that both drinks were mixing a key ingredient: Juice!! -Sigh- This was a disappointment. After that drink, I paid my tab and left. I have no idea how the food taste but I doubt I'd come back in the future.

I have to be honest. Not the best in VB, but not the worst. I should have known if the King of VB (J David H) said he wasn't a fan, I probably shouldn't have stopped by. I only stopped in because Harvest was on the Coastal Coffee Trail and I had to hit it to stamp it off. Hear me out, Yelpers. I'm not mad about my iced macchiato; it was ready in no time, even with it being crazy busy. It tasted great and I opted for oat milk for more depth but ended up paying a lot more for half the size of what I would have got from the greatest money-draining-thief of all time - Starbucks. So, I'm not completely sold on that front. I also purchased the recommended (by staff) gigantic cinnamon roll. I waited almost 20 minutes for the roll to come out it was ludicrous. If I knew it was going to be warmed up I would have not bothered as the wait for food was way to long for a takeout order. Don't get me wrong, it didn't taste awful, in fact it was rather delicious, but I thought it was a grab and go item. If you come here and wait as long as I did, be sure to check the rooftop bar area after. It is worth the extra few minutes, that I promise.

I am on a coffee trail. Harvest is listed. #1strike against them. They had the coffee menu covered by junk on the shelf in front of the menu. Make sure people can see your menu. Just scan the QR code and the menu will pop right up. Service is called fast casual. It says it right on the front door. You walk up and order at the counter and they will bring it to the table.. And it seemed a little cluttered downstairs. Under the stairway looked cluttered. We were sitting and eating at the table right beside the clutter. Hopefully you will read this and tidy up and clean the hall going to the restrooms. That is a narrow hall to begin with and if something is down there is just does not have a clean feel to it. Now for all the positive. I ordered the Horchata Iced Latte with almond milk. YUMMM. Oh so good. Perfect blend of flavor. Great job on my coffee. We also ordered the Beach Burrito. That was excellent. you add home fries and coffee for 3 dollars. GREAT Deal. I could eat my weight in their home fries. They have a lovely menu and a really nice variety. I was watching food go to the different tables. It all looked Really GOOD. They were very fast getting every ones food out to them. Ours was nice and HOT. We ate downstairs in the AC but took our coffees upstairs to enjoy the roof top. IT is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! They have fun and funky seating. A wall mural and then on the other side they have a WONDERFUL bar and a huge planted wall. I fell in love with the woven hammock chairs. Such a relaxed beach vibe. This place is sooooo close to being a 5 star. We will be going back in the future and hopefully can pop up my 4 star to a 5. They just need to tidy up a bit to make it a 5 star. But for now I am sticking with 4 stars.

I love beach front dining, and stumbled across this place in search of brunch on the beach with a killer view. The interior is very modern and aesthetically pleasing. There's also a roof top upstairs complete with a bar to enjoy the fresh salty air and basking in the sun. Normally beach front restaurants are known for seafood, however I didn't encounter any on the menu here at least for brunch. My brunch was a typical pancake with eggs and bacon, nothing special however, the presentation of the food impressed me. The beautiful blue dishes brought ocean vibes to my table and a cute Canadian leaf mold of butter on my pancakes made me smile:) The only thing that kept me from presenting a 5 star review was the table space and the quality of the alcoholic beverages. I ordered Mimosa flights and in my opinion they weren't mixed well with the juice or something was just off. One of the mimosas tasted like it was mixed with water. My hubby ordered a tequila sunrise and something about that just wasn't good either. I also didn't like how the tables were so small. When you order, your food will come on the most beautiful blue but large dishes that wont fit on the table unless your by yourself. Even our mimosa flight presentation came with a tray that we had to ditch in order to make everything fit on the table. Overall, its a very nice restaurant and I hope to return in the summer and explore the roof top more.

We were in town for a festival and decided to stop by here for breakfast. It's such a cute place and they also have a rooftop bar in sitting area. The food is reasonably priced and delicious. My husband got the Hawaiian waffles and I got the breakfast burrito. The orange juice was so fresh and the smoothie was flavorful and delicious. The staff was super friendly, other than the kitchen staff we ran into at the end. We weren't sure where to put our plates, and he just stood there at the busing station we were at and didn't say anything when we asked. We sat upstairs and the table was dirty with cigarette ashes all over, so I had to wipe that down myself. When you order food, you have to go back and get it yourself. I found it weird that someone else had their food brought to them though. So that was a tad confusing.

Harvest is such a cute cafe with a beautiful view of Atlantic Street with a peek of the ocean. Harvest motto is from farm to beach! Fresh, clean, real food! They serve breakfast, smoothies, sandwiches, cocktails and etc. You order at the counter, find a seat and listen out for your order when it's ready. It's like a self services restaurant. The rooftop is everything!! It has a lovely view of the strip and a bar to hang out and chill. The couple of times I've been, it seems I always get the same thing since it's my fave. So, I usually get the grilled avocado with pico di Gallo and the fries. Both are delish!! The avocado has the nice charred but yet still creamy inside. And the fries are crunchy shoestring kind. My absolute favorite type of potato LOL. The staff is great and it has been my favorite place to dine at the Oceanfront.

Very cute restaurant at oceanfront. I came here with a bunch of my girls for my birthday. We all met up for lunch and drinks and we haven't tried this spot yet and decided to come. We tried making reservations but wasn't able to. Luckily there was a huge table for us when we walked in. We all ordered our lunch and we headed upstairs to check out the rooftop bar for some drinks. It was cold and windy that day so we ordered drinks and went back downstairs. We had mimosa flights which was really good and we had a few shots. The food came out and the nachos were huge. I got a sandwich with shoestring fries. It was delicious. The staff were super friendly and noticed that it was my birthday. At the end of our meal the brought out a huge giant cinnamon bun for my birthday. It was hot, soft, gooey and delicious. Can't wait to come back here again when it's nice and hot to enjoy some drinks and food on the rooftop.

I must say after looking solely at their composite score of a 4.5 I was extremely disappointed at Harvest. My fault for not digging deeper into menu, prices and reviews from friends to better gauge. The location is an A+ just off the Virginia Beach Boardwalk with its own small private lot that few have. That is the best thing that I can say. I did use the FREE parking in rear. I had my teen daughter in toe after shopping and we're both starved! After discussing a few other places in The Vibe District we decided on Harvest with overall strong reviews and close proximity to their location. The signage outside is attractive and they do offer outdoor seating. A menu is right as you walk in. After looking at online and in person we both found items. Several others walked up around us to view and left. Our visit was after lunch rush around 130 PM on a weekday. Ordering is at the counter. The staff was super friendly. The ordering process efficient. I got steak tacos with chips & salsa after being told they were out of a potato mash thing that sounded more interesting. My daughter a BLT sandwich with fries. Unfortunately they combo up with a fountain drink and you do not have a choice. My daughter only drinks water, so this is a few dollars tagged on. I also typically get water as well. The price with a 20% tip came to a staggering almost $40. The dining room was empty so we could chose our seats. Everything on the floor to tables appeared clean. The atmosphere is bright with ton of natural light and that was super! However once seated I could see a layer of what almost appeared to be saw dust on top of the napkins which was gross. I assume this was from being a block off the oceanfront. Easy solution is to wipe down at minimum with tables during the day. I looked over at others and same. I looked at a shelving unit and even worse. At least one staff had nothing to do. This was a very big turn off prior to receiving our meal. I saw who I assumed was the owner come in bringing supplies, checking mail etc. meal came out within around a respectable 15 minutes. Both meals looked fine, nothing extraordinary for price. First bite of my steak tacos was good, however later I found fatty meat I had to spit out. Chips nothing exciting, but fresh. My daughter reported she liked hers. The sandwich was mammoth and no way would she ever eat it all. She was annoyed at the amount of break on the triple stack sandwich. Side of fries plentiful and hot, but mediocre. The staff made eye contact from behind the counter to gain approval of all good. I gave a thumb up. Why not just come over to the table though, it was still dead. Customers bus their own tables. I can't hide that this was a let down. I had Harvest on a to try list for over a year and after giving them a shot will not return. I believe management can learn a few things from what I mentioned that would help elevate. My review falls at a flat 3 stars which was generous for my dissatisfaction with the overall experience. Interesting to me no regulars on Yelp check-in with such high scores.

In search of adult frozen beverages, I stopped by Harvest after running Va Beach Half Marathon. I gotta say that I had a fab time and wished that I was not driving so I could have stayed longer and enjoyed more adult beverages. The upstairs bartender, Kristy or Kristen (sp?), was an absolute joy. Just be aware if you have drinks upstairs and want food that you will have to place your order separately in the restaurant - one of the reasons why I docked the place 0.5 stars. I deducted another 0.5 stars because I had to wait in another line for the bartender to run my card through the computer on the other side of the bar. I was a bit confused because I would think that it would be easier for the restaurant to print a tab and have customers pay from where they are seating . . . especially if they are at the bar. I'm sure Harvest has its reasons for having customers pay in this manner. For my dining experience, I had a breakfast bowl (I think it was called the South Side). Overall, the breakfast bowl was fine, but I found it a tad salty. Perhaps, the kitchen was having an off day because the restaurant and bar were pretty swamped on that Sunday afternoon. While this might seem like a rough review, I think the service, the proximity to the beach, the live entertainment, and the delicious watermelon vodka slushie outweighed these minor inconveniences. Can't wait to visit again . . . although I probably will just have adult beverages.

Really disappointed. The parking lot behind was a little shady so we parked elsewhere. We ordered 3 cups of coffee to go and it took some time. The cashier wasn't particularly friendly. The Coffee came with no lids and when I asked for lids, they said they were out of lids that fit that cup. The food here looked decent but not sure I would come back.

My only real complaint came when I watched the top of my sandwich fall off while a crew member was moving plates around. It wasn't enough to ruin the experience, but it did bother me and left an impression. I'm a chef myself and travel to different restaurants regularly, so I try to be understanding. That said, the service we experienced yesterday at Stock Pot was unfortunately some of the worst I've had in quite a while. We sat outside, and it honestly felt like we were being deliberately ignored. The restaurant wasn't busy, yet we had to wait long stretches just to get basic things. At one point near the end of our meal, we asked for a box and our check. Instead of bringing it over, the waitresses stood around talking with other waitresses, while we continued to wait. After sitting there for quite a while, we eventually had to ask for the check and box, a second time. Throughout the meal the service was inconsistent. We had three different waitresses checking on us, but were left to sit for about 30 minutes alone at one point, and it took almost 20 to have our order taken, once we ordered, we had to request our appetizer again, after waiting another 20 or so minutes. Upon asking, again, we found out they were out of part of the appetizer we ordered. After that it came out quick. The food, however, was excellent and definitely the highlight of the experience. That's why this review is disappointing to write -- the kitchen is clearly doing a great job. I just hope the service side improves, because it didn't match the quality of the food.

HISTORY ON AN ONION ROLL | THE EYE OPENER CONTINUES TO TEMPT TASTEBUDS, DECADES LATER…read more By Patrick Evans-Hylton For decades, the Belvedere Hotel was more than a place to stay. It was a familiar presence along the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, a backdrop for everyday rituals and seaside routines. Tucked inside was the Belvedere Coffee Shop & Diner, a true neighborhood constant since opening in 1969. It was where mornings began with hot coffee and friendly nods, where breakfast and lunch meant dependable comfort, and where the pace of the beach slowed just enough to savor it. When the Belvedere was torn down, it felt like losing a quietly important piece of the Oceanfront's collective memory. That sense of memory carries forward at Belvedere South inside the tony Moxy Virginia Beach Oceanfront hotel. The new space honors the past without freezing it in time. Bright blue walls set against crisp white instantly recall the diner's cheerful spirit. Large windows allow light to flood the space. Cushy banquettes are a comfortable welcome, inviting you to settle in and linger. The menu stays true to its roots with classic breakfast and lunch dishes that feel familiar and reassuring. Anchoring it all is the legendary Eye Opener sandwich, returned to its rightful place as both signature and symbol. In this new setting, the Belvedere legacy lives on, refreshed but recognizable, a reminder that some traditions deserve to be carried forward with care and confidence. The Eye Opener remains the heart of the menu, and one bite explains its legend. A perfectly fried egg anchors the sandwich, its yolk just rich enough to soften the layers beneath. From a choice of bacon, sausage, or ham, we chose the latter; each brings its own salty, savory character. Melted cheese binds everything together, draping the egg and meat in comfort. All of it is tucked into a lightly toasted onion roll that adds a gentle sweetness and just enough bite to stand up to the fillings. Chef Ray Ray Labuen, who wore the tall toque at the former Belvedere, is closely tied to the Eye Opener its careful steward. Then there are the tomatoes, the detail that elevates the whole affair. Thick slices are grilled, seasoned lightly, and finished with a generous snowfall of parmesan cheese. As they cook, the tomatoes soften and turn luscious while the cheese melts and lightly browns, creating a savory crust that clings to the fruit. They are warm, juicy, and deeply flavorful, adding richness and balance to the sandwich. It is indulgent without being heavy, familiar yet special, and exactly the kind of dish that earns its name at the Oceanfront. We also enjoyed rich, creamy grits and a damn fine cup of coffee. Service was exceptional. - I've been covering the cuisine scene in Coastal Virginia and beyond for 30-plus years, and have dined out at thousands and thousands times. I base my scores on the SAVORY system, which attributes values to six distinct attributes: Service, Ambiance, Value, Offerings, Repeatability, and Sensory Experience. That translates to 1 star = 59 or below ; 2 stars = 60 - 69 ; 3 stars = 70-79 ; 4 stars = 80-89 ; and 5 stars = 90 or above. Based on that, this restaurant receives my 5 star rating. This is based on a visit on Jan. 7, 2026 - I'm a Johnson & Wales-trained chef reporting on food and foodways in print (magazines, The Virginian-Pilot), television (morning shows, Food Network, WTKR TV-3), radio (PBS, AM 790 WNIS), and more. The restaurant has a great oceanfront location and the food was good, but our experience was significantly impacted by how staff handled my service dog. We initially sat outside, but constant biting flies made it difficult to enjoy our meal, so we moved inside. Shortly afterward, an assistant manager approached us and attempted to remove us because of my service dog. My dog was clearly identifiable as a service animal, quietly lying at my feet, fully under control, and not bothering anyone. As a Disabled Veteran, I should not have had to explain ADA service animal laws in order to eat breakfast. The burden should not fall on guests to educate restaurant management about federal disability protections. What should have been a happy and memorable morning before my wedding became stressful and upsetting. The issue was eventually resolved, and we were allowed to remain, but only after I had to advocate for my legal rights. Because of that experience, we chose not to return to dine inside the restaurant for the remainder of our stay. The food and location were good, but the lack of service animal awareness by management seriously detracted from the experience. I strongly recommend additional ADA and service animal training for all staff so future guests do not experience the same treatment.
