Good Burger. I'd go back. Not much room to eat inside so I'd suggest getting it to go. Oddly, the lady behind the register asked for $1 more for me bc she "didn't charge me for the bigger burger." Very tasty food homemade feeling. The only thing that bothered me was the darn flies that kept buzzing in the window while I Was trying to eat. They never came out of the window so they may have been trained but I was on guard the whole while I was eating. Another complaint of mine is there is only six spots to eat at in the business and that is a bar on each window that sits three people a piece and they are close together. So if you are looking for somewhere to take the FAM bam. this is not a good place for small kids. Unless you are getting your food to go. My favorite food was the onion rings and poppers they are a lil prices you get four large poppers for 3.95. The burgers are around five or six dollars. If you want fries or onion rings I think that is an xtra 3 or 4 bucks. Overall it is a great place to chow down. read more

ABSOLUTELY , hands down, without a doubt, THE BEST and MOST DELICIOUS BURGER IN DALLAS!!!! It came out fresh off the grill, cooked to perfection and steaming hot!! For those that don't eat meat: there is a veggie burger option and I plan to go back just to try it! Drink choices were plentiful. I chose a drink called Mexican cola and it was quite tasty! The atmosphere is "urban neighborhood", because well, it's an urban neighborhood in east Dallas-the REAL deal. The place looked a little sketchy on arrival. Nothing fancy, there appeared to be a homeless camp nearby, and I noticed a pawn shop across the street, HOWEVER, just park your vehicle and walk on in. You will be greeted with genuine smiles and hellos. Refreshing in today's world. There are no tables, just bar style seating across the windows with old fashioned round-seat bar stools. Noticed a lot of people coming in for carryout orders. Possibly most of their business comes from carryout. The decor was Coca Cola plus fun antique-y AND Dallas-ite, with photos of the neighborhood and a script of why one loves East Dallas. The owner?/manager? Came out to see how we were doing and if we were enjoying our food! Then he said, "Have you ever tried our onion rings?", I said, "I've never been here before to try them!" He called back to the cook, "Order of onion rings!" Then he brought the ABSOLUTELY hands down BEST onion rings I have EVER had!!! Wow this place rocks. Unassuming little spot serving great burgers, fries, dogs, onion rings and other fare. The half pound burger was tasty and better with the addition of jalapenos. The hand battered onion rings changed my life for the better and the house mad chips with queso were great. The employees were friendly and helpful and the owner was grateful that we stopped in. Harvey B's doesn't raise cows out back that they gently massage and then lightly kill for your eating pleasure. They don't grow artisan black Mongolian potatoes for their spiral cut fries. The don't serve you on an oblong plate crafted by Peruvian peasants, and sure as hell don't garnish your plate with frickin baby pea shoots. Great greasy spoon burger! This place is one to add to your dive burger tour of Dallas. Reminds me of an old burger shack you might find way out in the country. OK so I ordered 2 bbq bacon cheeseburgers with the old school fries and a chili and cheese fry. Got home and the order was not what I asked for. You're thinking why did I give 5 stars? Because they were soooooo NICE about it! He (didn't get his name, an old guy with white hair ) Insisted I get a complimentary drink, even tho I didn't want it because I wasn't angry I just wanted my burger Lol, and he practically poured it for me. Do not be fooled by the simple, unassuming exterior. I stopped by this afternoon and was delighted to experience one of the best burgers I have ever tasted. The patty is the perfect combination of a fresh off the grill, crispy exterior coupled with an expertly cooked, tender interior. The bun was light and (unlike me) managed to retain it's composure without getting soggy. I feel like I owe that burger a date after all the "mmmmms" and "oooohhhhs" I uttered while devouring it. Super tiny place with literally nowhere to sit except 8 benches and a small counter. However the food was absolutely delicious. Hot fresh greasy old-fashioned burger that was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Also got a sampling of their onion rings which were also made to order, hot and tasty. They were also just a bit peppery for my taste. The owners were very sweet and attentive and also very generous. Parking was not too bad right out in the front but the indoor seating is certainly an issue for me. Otherwise I thought it was very good and I would gladly eat there again. read more

To me the burger was a 1 star, but I'm being generous considering it was delivered and perhaps the delivery time added to the experience. First, the bun.... was extremely soggy, like mushy in my hands... the lettuce and tomato had practically wilted to slime, and my burger patty was charred crisp amd dry and falling apart into pieces. I took 3 bites and couldn't finish it. The fries I was so excited about were burnt, like inedible burnt, and the onion rings were, I am convinced, just thick fried chicken batter with nothing inside. One cool thing, the tall glass coke bottles you get if you order a coke. Very unique. I would give this place one more shot, take away in person, and if it has improved I will update my review. read more

I like this place, they have good burgers for a reasonable price. Now, I do feel they can improve on the tater tots chili cheese portions, which is the major reason I downgraded to one star. But folks, who are not aware of the neighborhood, ya'll just keep an eye out. It's not to bad, but a quick look around before you go inside won't hurt. read more
