If I could give zero stars. I would. Every since JC hasn't worked there. The food has been awful. This is my second time getting a steak on different occasions and my steak looked like a patty. $25 for a ribeye and it looked like pork chop without the bone. And it was ridiculously flat. Needless to say. They didn't even bring out my broccoli. And I'm at the bar and the service is horrible and I'm not upset. But the bartender acts like she has an attitude. So I said I don't want anything. I'm not Sending no food to the kitchen to get made over. And better yet. You figure a manager would come over. NOT EVEN!!! read more

This was my second visit for lunch and it was excellent on both occasions. Today I ordered the crab cake salad. The crab cakes were small but very good. The salad mix was fresh and chilled to a acceptable temperature. My business partner ordered the pecan crusted redfish. It also was very good. Service is impeccable here. We had a wonderful experience at Harvey's! The food was very tasty with great portions sizes. And, the staff were wonderful and very attentive. We were celebrating our Anniversary and the manager came to our table and told we were getting a free dessert in honor of our special occasion. Arrived around 12:45 and got a table after an hour wait. Then after waiting almost an hour at the table all we received was an appetizer and drinks (even had an error with that) . Our waiter was more interested in chatting with other patrons than taking orders. Our food was only brought out after wishing to speak with the manager. I wrote to the manager directly about the situation and received no response. We will not be returning - there are better places to go in Columbus read more

Went for a birthday celebration at the one in Columbus on 2/12. Got there and ordered at 7:30, didn't get food until over a hour later. The food came out cold. Sent food back. They brought our food back out at almost 10 in a to-go bag. We waited 30 more minutes for our tickets that were all wrong. The managers were not a bit concerned. Called in to speak with district manager last week. Still not call back. Went back in the restaurant to eat yesterday and spoke with a manager. She did not seem to have a care in the world about the situation. On 2/14, went to the one in Starkville and had a bug in my drink. Nothing was done about that nor have I received a callback in regards to that either. Harvey's is my favorite restaurant, but these past experiences within the past week have really made feel different. read more

I ordered eggs Benedict. The waiter asked how I wanted the eggs. I have never been asked how I wanted a poached egg before and I told the waiter that. He insisted that I told him how I wanted it cooked. Instead of arguing I said medium. When I got the eggs Benedict the eggs were fried not poached. The piece of ham was so hard I couldn't cut it with a knife and there was no hollandaise sauce on it at all. read more

This restaurant sucked. The cajun redfish was awful and the baked potato was cold. How does that happen? Our waiter (William) was MIA most of the night. When we complained about the fish and baked potato he said, "Maybe next time you should order something else." He also said, "It's the day after Labor day so nobody wants to work so that why the food was probably bad." The only good point of the night was when the hostess seated us. read more

When my son went to the Mississippi School of Math and Science in 1996, Harvey's was the standby place we would go eat dinner when visiting or when my son had off campus privileges. My son had three standbys he always enjoyed there- the french dip sandwich, the fried cheese appetizer, and the teriyaki rib-eye. Passing through Columbus for the first time in almost 20 years, I decided to stop by for lunch. I ordered the fried cheese appetizer, which was still the hand breaded original. The fried cheese is still prepared with thick logs of cheese, hand breaded with a light flour coating, fried up crispy and thin. I was sorry I was alone to enjoy this appetizer but finished it slowly as I remembered pleasant times in the good old days. The teriyaki rib-eye was equally as good as I remembered. Thoroughly marinated with a deep beef taste, this steak is outstanding because it lacks the syrupy taste of teriyaki coating found in so many places that don't take the time to marinade properly. It was a great lunch with a vegetable kebab as the side which was fresh and tasty with a real grill char. Really hated that I couldn't try the french dip sandwich but I'll have to save that for the next time. read more

Columbus is fortunate to have a few excellent eateries, and Harvey's ranks near the top. The food is very good and the service, friendly & efficient. The Delta Chicken came highly recommended, and didn't disappoint, although I might opt for something with a little less gravy, and a few more veggies, next time. read more

The Fettuccine Romano is outstanding -- Italian sausage, ground hamburger, onions, garlic, crushed tomatoes, roasted red bell peppers, olive oil, parmesan cheese and fresh basil. Now be forewarned, this is fairly greasy -- they could probably stand to use a bit less olive oil and I'm not a big fan of the basil. It's pretty strong. But this is still a great dish. The bread pudding is to die for, and I don't even usually like bread pudding. A big slab of French bread baked with vanilla custard, granny smith apples, and pecans, DRENCHED in bourbon sauce and dusted with powdered sugar. This stuff is heavenly. The atmosphere is kind of fancy -- the type of place you would take a date or have a business lunch. I always preferred to get my food to go. You can pull up to the curb in the back and they will bring it out to you. It's expensive, but I usually got three meals out of it. read more

Perfect blackened catfish. Wonderful spinach. Couldn't get enough of the grits (and I don't really like grits). Even my roll and salad were great. I ate at the bar and the service was flawless and very personable. I couldn't have felt more at home. The crawfish salad, prime rib sandwich, Cajun pasta, and delta chicken are the best entrees by far. They have some really spectacular cocktails on the menu and the margarita is fresh and delicious! EXTREMELY IMPRESSED! I had the filet mignon with the cheddar/jalapeño grits and broccoli. The filet was out of this world, I ordered it medium and it was cooked perfectly. I rarely write reviews but I felt I had to for this. The filet was one of the best I've had in a while. Alex served me tonight and did an outstanding job. He was friendly, attentive and on point. Steaks great here - my kids love the chicken tenders - good hamburger- chicken and fixins good!! My daughter got crab cakes tonight!! Excellent!! Husband got surf and turf which he said was great!! They usually have fresh fish selection and I get that but tonight halibut was fresh fish I did not want that!! Finished with amazing bread pudding!! We went here with the big boss for dinner on the company. It was okay, not great, but pretty decent. I had the almond crusted grouper with rice pilaf. The fish was very good, but the pilaf was just over salted rice. I'm not a big rice fan to start out with, but pouring tons of salt all over it only makes it worse. The place was packed on the Thursday night that we were there, and our food and drinks were handled by about six different servers, which is always annoying because they never know who gets what. read more

Went here last night with high expectations. They were not met. The waitress that finally waited on us was very good, they just weren't sure for a bit who was waiting on our table. Crab cakes were good but minuscule in size. My wife had the teriyaki steak on skewer that she described as good but wouldn't order again. For my order, the Caesar salad was good, potato was small but hot and cooked well, the 4 cheese macaroni was cold and would've been good had it been hot. Finally the prime rib. I should've complained but it's not something I normally do, I ordered rare and this was almost well done, not juicy at all and virtually no flavor. This was my first and last trip to Harvey's. Obviously others have eaten better food there but for me it was the worst prime rib I've ever had and I get prime rib almost every time it's available where we are eating. read more

Their to go service is amazing. I would go here just because you don't have to get out of your car. You call, place your order, and then you just have to pull up to one of two designated spots. They bring the food right to you. The steak sandwich I got was fantastic. There are tons of regular parking spots, too. read more

Harvey's is a very middle-of-the-road restaurant. There are dishes here you will not regret eating but nothing that will excite you and require a return visit. That said, there are not a lot of good dining options in Columbus and Harvey's is one of the better choices. The prime rib sandwich is usually dependable. The rosemary chicken kebob is tasty. The lemon pepper chicken is decent. I enjoy the club salad. The craft beer selection is slender. read more

The other steakhouse was closed on Sunday, so I checked out this place. Curiosity of YELP. I decided to drive 2 miles and check it out. It was Sunday and around 5pm. As I pulled into the parking lot, it wasn't full. I thought, a dump or a treasure. I found a treasure. I walked into the place and sat at the bar. The bartender, a nice young lady, was very good at service and very attentive. I ordered a Lazy Magnolia Brown Ale. It was good, I looked over the menu and the options were plentiful. Randi Lee(?) asked me if I would like an appetizer. Beer was my appetizer. I ordered the NY Strip(medium), with a Caesar Salad and the Smoked Cheddar & Jalapeno grits. I got my salad first and it was a typically Caesar salad, only problem 4 croutons. A couple more please. I ordered another beer, same one, and my food came. Everything looked great. The Grits were awesome, and the Steak was cooked excellent. Nice pink and a nice char. I was really very,very,very, satisfied with my experience. Just Great!!! read more
