First time here. It was fairly busy but the service was good. The food had good flavor but my chicken was a bit overcooked. They had a DJ that night that played good music but unfortunately they sat us right next to a speaker which made it very difficult to hear and was way too loud to enjoy our meal. We ordered the our appetizers and asked for lemon 3 times before we had to flag someone down for some. It took us 15 minutes to have someone check on our table, after sending one of my friends to look for our server. To get some water it took about 20 minutes for a refill. Great place to go after work. The happy hour is great and you can see that most of the costumer were coming after work . I think I will give it a try one more time to try other drinks and food . The place is good even for dates , birthdays or any other occasion that you will like to do. The bathroom is big and comfortable and is a one Per bathroom. I consider Havana Cafe a neighborhood gem because they have four excellent characteristics. Which are good fresh food, great drinks, polite, professional service and an excellent vibe. I am warmly welcomed to the cafe and seated courteously. Someone comes over with water as soon as Im seated. Shortly after, about 5 minutes later your server comes to your table and introduces themselves as my wait person. I asks about the drinks and they give their opinion and so far all recommendations have been on point. I don't think the wait time for drinks is too long. Of course when all tables are occupied it might take a little longer but the wait is not noticeable. I often read menus before I go out to eat so I'm not taking too long to decide what I'm going to eat. However Havana Cafe offerings are many and very delicious so I struggle a bit with what I'm going to eat. I like the name Havana Cafe. It helps me to feel like I'm in a cafe with good drinks, good food, cool people and great vibes. read more

Started coming here in 2017. It rapidly became one of our favorite places to dine. I'm a seasoned diner who dines out 2-3 times a week. Everything until Covid was great (food, ambiance, service) After reopening again the service started lacking with the new servers, hostess etc. Now after the chef got fired in December, some food has become inedible. We were here this past Sunday, June 22. Our server Oscar is the worse of the worse. We have to keep flagging him down for anything we needed or we'll ask the busser Toby I think it's his name. Oscar needs more training. His demeanor is very poor. Anyway I ordered that day's special which was the trio fajita with arroz con gandules. The food was disgusting. Why would you put Soy and Oyster sauce in the meats for fajitas? The tortillas taste old and felt like paper. I told Oscar about it and he didn't even apologize. All he said was "Anything else" and walked away. He told the manager on duty Freddy and all he did was take out the entree off the bill. That's not what I was looking for. I would have preferred for him to walk over to us and apologize and offer us something else if I wanted. The lack of good customer service lacks by a lot! It's unfortunate that we're no longer be visiting this establishment. Little by little it's falling apart. I wish I knew where there former chef went to. read more

Gave this place 5 stars in the past before for the ropa vieja, bc it was the standout item out of probably 12-15 different appetizers and entrees I've tried over the years, but unfortunately, the pricing no longer matches the quantity and quality of the entire meal. I've been coming to this place since when the ropa was a great deal at around $17, but it's now $26, and as good as it is and as rough as the economy is right now for all of us with small businesses, that is just too high for me. All of their menu prices have skyrocketed. Maybe when all this craziness is over and the price of doing business goes down a bit, they'll adjust their menu prices to more reasonable levels again. I mean, I get it....But imo, ain't no ropa worth over $30 with tip and tax. read more

This is my second time at Havana Cafe. The first was a few years ago for a group brunch which was phenomenal. This time my fiancé and I came for dinner and drinks on a Saturday night. We weren't sure how to make a reservation but saw Yelp waitlist as an option. It was pretty packed and we did wait a while but the dj was banging so that made the wait bearable. When we were finally seated Crystal was our waitress and we can't say enough great things about her. She was super nice, funny and very knowledgeable about the menu. She also understood the assignment and kept the shots flowing as requested. We ordered the special pork belly appetizer which came with a sweet chili sauce. Cooked to perfection and a very large portion! I had the coconut lobster dish with Maduro fried rice and my fiancé had the seafood paella. We were pleased with both of our entrees and definitely needed boxes when it was time to go. There were a lot of large parties celebrating birthdays and as mentioned the di was playing all the hits. Cuban restaurant. Best coconut mojito and the appetizers are large enough to be a meal. The mofongo and pastelon are my favorite. They also serve bread and black bean dip, great starter to your meal. Give it try. This place usually gets full Friday night, Saturday and Sunday, DJ usually plays good music but no dance floor available. I came here on a Monday evening and was seated easily. They sat me before my guest came too which I appreciated. I started out with a complimentary bread roll, which was coated in melted butter or oil. It came with a dipping sauce that had a black bean essence to it. I enjoyed it. For an appetizer we ordered the pastelón with ropa vieja (shredded chicken). I liked the mixture of sweet (plantains) and savory (meat and cheese). I recommend this dish for those who like melted cheese as that was the most salient flavor. The ribeye steak ($35) was a generous portion. It was quite juicy and the chimichurri sauce was delectable. I did not love the yuca mofongo that came with it as it tasted kind of dry and the flavor was dull; although it's my first time trying mofongo so perhaps I'm just not familiar with it. The Langosta Carribena ($32) was my favorite dish and the star of the night for me. They gave 6 mini lobster tails, which I think is a very good portion size! I loved the creaminess of the coconut in the sauce and how that paired with the lobster. The coconut rice was delicious as well. This is a nice chill place to go to after a long week of work. On a Friday it's packed by the bar and can be a pick up spot. It is highly encouraged to make a reservation as this place is busy. Parking is not bad at all in the area as it is on a main street. Meters end at 7pm. yI had the chicaron de pollo with tostones for the appetizers. The garlic sauce that goes with it is yummy. I had yellow rice with steak as the entree along with the chimichurri sauce. Reservations is highly recommended. If you do have to wait upon entry with RSVP, you can do it through Yelp. read more

The mojo had little lemon too much oil and over garlic- I am the queen of garlic so for me to say too much is above and beyond. No yuca con mojo??? The rice portion too small. I would say the black beans were close but not close enough on flavor. Croquettes - no jamon con queso? What part of Cuba did the chef study Cuban cuisine? Service was a bit slow to null. They had happy hour until 7pm I got their just in time to squeeze in 3 mojitos and boy those mojitos were good. For 5.99 I was like definitely worth it I got to try the classic , chinola and coconut. They were all yummy. I also ordered a platter with a variety of food. For side we got tostones and yuca fries they were both delicious. The platter had steak, shrimp sausages, pork and chicken. I went on a Friday night with my friends and honestly it was not what i expected at all. They had a great deal with happy hour and they had a live Dj that played great music. The drinks were delicious. I got the henny colada and the rum punch. To eat i got the Cubano sandwich and the sampler it was so delicious. It's an amazing place to hang out with friends and to have a couple of drinks. The ambience is great. The food is amazing and the staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I personally recommend the churrascó. If you like seafood; you must try the 7 potencia soup. My biggest recommendation for their Sunday brunch is MAKE SURE YOU CALL AHEAD TO MAKE A RESERVATION! They usually take reservations ahead of time so they're normally seated at full capacity within the first half hour to hour of being open. I learned this the hard way. However, the food made up for it. The Sangria brunch is the way to go. Their tropical flavors of sangria (such as the coconut) is a must have. From the menu I ordered the Madre y Hija which I ate rather quickly because it was smaller than I expected, but it did not make me feel too full which can normally happen when you drink. I always order from this restaurant via Uber Eats but Friday, Sept 8 I decided to order in person since I was in the neighborhood. I noticed all the Uber Eats orders came out first...duly noted. Cashier told me it would a 15 minute wait time which turned into a 35 minutes. I was charged $19 for the Oxtail, white rice, black beans and a sprite combo. I was given 4 oxtails..smh. (thin sliced) white rice, and two plantains. I get home an hour later and realize no beans. So not only did I have to wait longer than I was told but my order was incomplete.
