Yeah basically the bartender Melissa got me hella drunk cus she saw I was 22 years old also made the comment, "you can be my daughter she was born in '03". I usually get this comment a lot from older folks and I typically don't have an issue it's cool I just brushed it off with a smile. So, I was charged 80 dollars for 1 entree which was a chicken quesadilla and 4 drinks after saying one of the four drinks was going to be on her yeah she actually lied about that just to get me pissy drunk and im sure if her manager was breathing down her neck she wouldn't even think to make such an inappropriate comment to "someone who can be her daughter" mind you im a whole adult and a whole paying customer at that. I'll never come back because I felt like she didn't care about my well being after I TRIED to deny her from getting a fourth drink I was just trying to end my night off with an espresso martini as a "dessert" she just had to push for a second espresso martini for me to consume and it just gave she only cared about the money I was so willingly to spend because I was so wasted lol. So she gives me the second espresso martini and then just gives me another cup with the left over from her shakers (this is when I caught on to her conniving ways.) (Food was excellent tho, will probably order to go next time, and avoid the bar entirely yeah it was a big no for me if I can give it 0 stars I would experience was actually awful.) I always love coming to Havana. Back in the day they had $5 dollar monitors for happy hour. Due to the pandemic, I'm sure a lot has changed. I came here last night and had a good time. The staff was very attentive and made everything worth it. We ordered a lot of food !! I had mango ribs with rice, beans, and maduros. Pernil and coconut rice also ordered. We had some fries calamari as our appetizer. I'm not big on desserts, but at the end we ended up getting coconut covered brownie with a side of vanilla ice cream! read more

If anyone knows Ruben, every restaurant he ever opens has every detail thought out, and this place is no exception! Staff is great and food is amazing! When they 1st came on the scene, the atmosphere was electric. They're probably do for some slight ambience modifications, but overall, it's a great spot! read more

This is proof that when they hit, they're great... Hubby, babes and I stopped by for an impromptu lunch because we were on the area dropping off his cousin who lives in the area. It's funny, because all I could think about was their salty, sticky rice and I wanted to go back. As soon as we entered we were greeted and sat outside because it was warm and shaded well. Our server, Carmalyn (sp?) was very attentive. We ordered our drinks and food, and everything arrived fairly quickly. The one thing I would have thought would be that they would have brought out our daughter's food before ours. I mean, you could tell that they likely prepared it last because it was piping hot which also didn't help, but it came out with the adults' meals and that's almost always a no no because of how impatient kids can be and our tot was being a bit of a handful this particular day. In the end it all worked out but having her pizza out earlier would have made things loads easier. Other than that issue with the kiddie meal, everything else was fine. I tasted her pizza and it actually tasted ok. The crust had a little sweetness to it and she liked it a lot, eating it all, which is most important. Hubby had the Cubano with fries and he liked it also. I had the steak sandwich with swiss, which tasted great but again, there was a mistake made with the food. I thought they accidentally switched my fries with my husband's because his had garnish and mine did not but his were regular also. I ordered garlic fries and was given regular fries and when I brought that up to the server, she came back with the sauce they put on the garlic fries. Originally, I was a little annoyed because it was an obvious mistake by the kitchen and instead of just giving me the garlic fries I requested, I got the sauce to season them myself.....BUT, and this is a biiiiiiiiig but, sometimes mistakes work out in your favor. I also ordered a side of their white rice and I swear I used that garlic fry sauce on EVERYTHING! I put it on my steak sando, the fries AND the rice. My breath could probably keep Dracula, himself, away for a week but it was good! Garlicky and herbaceous with a tangy vinegar kick. They need to throw that on everything they can. I would love some rice with loads of that stuff mixed in it. Mistake or not, it tasted great as a condiment. You just might be having any sexy time afterwards. The majority of the food was OK and it has always been when dining in but I probably still would not order takeaway or delivery just because of their obvious expediting issues. The accuracy and consistency is not on point. Having had issues with an order months ago, coming back to give them another chance only to still have an issue with the accuracy of my order again, says a lot. I would say that you're not going to be disappointed with your food when dining in but you should expect there to be minor issues. read more

I met up with some friends and we had lunch here this Saturday. I wasn't expecting much as I've been to this restaurant a few times. Once with my husband to have dinner years ago and another time to get some take out food. I had a better experience with the take out order. So now fast forward to my most recent experience. The atmosphere is always loud, I didn't mind that as much as I minded the food. Two of my friends had the shrimp mofongo and they were not impressed. My friend had the arroz con pollo, she said it was good but it was too much chicken and not enough rice. And finally, there was my dish. I had the palomilla and tostones. The tostones and sauce especially was very tasty. For I was disappointed by the palomilla. It was lukewarm as I took my first bite. It just tasted like a basic steak. This is the last time I will visit this restaurant. It's disappointing when you go out to eat and spend good money on food and the food is disappointing. 11.12.24 I visited this place with family. We visited during happy hour on a Tuesday. Their server Karen R. took our drink order but since one of my daughters of legal age failed to have her physical ID they refused to serve her a drink since a mobile pic of her ID wasn't accepted. my mother of 74yrs was refused a second drink all because they saw my 21yr old who had taken a sip of mine. Totally unprofessional to deny my mother a drink because of my older daughter not showing a physical ID. Then they have the audacity to charge a 18% gratitude. The food was okay. My uncles, dad and abuela (grandma) all seemed happy with their meals. I was highly dissapointed with the tiny bit of platano maduro they served. It was literally sample size. But the little bit that I did have was delicious as always. At first my lemon/garlic chicken was gelatinous which always grosses me out. I just planned to take it home and cook it a bit more. I am not a fan of sending anything back to the kitchen for any reason. But my uncle refused to honor my wishes of cooking my chicken later at home and told the waiter. The waiter saw how hesitant I was and that he would make sure nothing bad happens to my chicken. When the plate came back I chose to trust him, tasted it and it was no longer gelatinous and tasted very good so I ate along with the rest of my family and enjoyed every bite. I decided to treat my family and cover the meal with my credit card. I used this credit card once that day at this restaurant. Before this restaurant, I never used this credit card in public. This was a Saturday. On Monday, I received 2 alerts for unauthorized charges to my credit card. My credit card details were being used for online amazon purchases. I called the fraud in immediately, but am very disappointed because given my spending habits with this particular credit card, this restaurant failed at keeping my credit card information safe. read more

One of my sisters celebrated her 50th Birthday here a couple years ago and swears by it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Turns out, my other sister (and her husband) followed her footsteps, reserved in advance and treated our family of 14 to celebrate her 50th on a Sunday night (I....will not continue this tradition). Havana isn't a favorite restaurant of mine- but for starters, I was impressed because these folks made nice changes from the last time I was here. Style and the lively Merengue and Salsa music remain the same as well. I was also impressed with the new and improved menu as they've included hearty Vegan appetizers and a never-seen-before Vegan-only section with at least 6-7 entrees! Hubs ordered a Pastelón de Maduro filled with Zucchini, Red and Green pepper strips, carrots, onions and topped with Vegan Mozzarella "Cheese" for me- which was creative and very good I must say. Hubs got a Parrillada tray complete with Yuca fries and a heaping portion of different types meat- which he only ate 1/2. Mom on the other hand, had the Seafood Paella- which was cooked nicely. I mean...it's not a Spanish Paella- but for a Cuban restaurant, the rice was firm- not sticky and had good Seafood chunks. Tables were flowing with big portions and our blond hair, man-bun server was on alert the entire evening! We had a comfortable spot towards the back left and got to share a few bites my Mom, hubs, niece and her boyfriend who were sitting at my corner. Now that I have officially experienced both Havana Cafe locations, it's is easily for me to say that the Tremont location is better. The staff is more attentive, and the food even tastes better. Though this location did not have an unlimited brunch, I did not miss it. The drinks prices were fairly inexpensive and again I was just so impressed with the quality of my food. It is far easier for me to go to the castle hill location, but I will be making my was to this one going forward read more

Stopped by with a friend who lives nearby to try out this place for the first time. The food was very good, but the black beans needed more flavor, the taste was bland, so I asked for some olive oil which helped the taste. The service was adequate and the waitress was friendly. The ambiance was beautifully decorated with paintings about Cuba which was a nice touch. The only complaint we had was the LOUD Music the DJ was playing, we asked the waitress to please ask the DJ to lower the music because it was BLASTING, but the DJ gave deaf ears to our suggestion. read more

Great Spanish food and loud music. I went here twice, once for dinner and once for lunch and both times were great. The service is great, quick, and consistent. The first time we ordered an appetizer to share. It was a huge one for two and it had all kinds of meat, shrimp and yuca fries. We stayed there for hours and enjoyed the music and had a great time. First and foremost let me start by saying that I am a regular at Havana as I live in the neighborhood and always come here with friends and family for birthdays, graduations, and etc. The past two visits unfortunately have been TERRIBLE and I will not be coming back even if someone would pay me to!!! Regardless of the excuse, you do not treat PAYING customers with disrespect and humiliate them!! The waitress was kind enough to offer me a free drink or dessert of my choice but i declined as all I wanted to do was pay and get the hell out there!! Stopped by last night for dinner. Slow night, rejected request for a more spacious table by hostess, who never returned to inform us, our waitress ended up checking in on her behalf. Ignoring customers, regardless of answer, is never good. Ordered the Quesadilla Cubana, received a COLD plate of food with long pieces of chopped onion and thin sliced tomatoes which was supposed to be pico de gallo, as it reads on the menu. MORE IMPORTANTLY, FIRST BITE CONTAINED A HAIR IN IT. Absolutely disgusting! Also, have the decency to at least serve food/plates warm if it's not made fresh when ordered, which is the case. Sloppy, cold, questionable dishes are the tell tale sign of distasteful food, shows lack of care and respect for diners. It's the least the restaurant can do for their customers. read more

I have been a patron of this restaurant since it opened. The food was cold, was send back and was returned cold again. The waitress took it back and the it came back hot and hard. We order salad with chicken and the chicken came out 30 minutes later after the salad was eaten. I was extremely disappointed with the service, and this has been my go to place....my waiter never came to check and we had to constantly wave to him to bring salt, plates and napkins. First time here. It was fairly busy but the service was good. The food had good flavor but my chicken was a bit overcooked. They had a DJ that night that played good music but unfortunately they sat us right next to a speaker which made it very difficult to hear and was way too loud to enjoy our meal. Started coming here in 2017. It rapidly became one of our favorite places to dine. I'm a seasoned diner who dines out 2-3 times a week. Everything until Covid was great (food, ambiance, service) After reopening again the service started lacking with the new servers, hostess etc. Now after the chef got fired in December, some food has become inedible. We were here this past Sunday, June 22. Our server Oscar is the worse of the worse. We have to keep flagging him down for anything we needed or we'll ask the busser Toby I think it's his name. Oscar needs more training. His demeanor is very poor. Anyway I ordered that day's special which was the trio fajita with arroz con gandules. The food was disgusting. Why would you put Soy and Oyster sauce in the meats for fajitas? The tortillas taste old and felt like paper. I told Oscar about it and he didn't even apologize. All he said was "Anything else" and walked away. He told the manager on duty Freddy and all he did was take out the entree off the bill. That's not what I was looking for. I would have preferred for him to walk over to us and apologize and offer us something else if I wanted. The lack of good customer service lacks by a lot! Delicious Latino creole Caribbean flare food. I've heard of this place before . Went for countdown new years 2023... party atmosphere, noise lever 10 lol. It was New Year's Eve after all. The service was amazing and the staff very kind. I asked for a recommendation and was told . The bistec palomino.. grilled charred flank steak with garlic and onions over white rice and black beans with sweet plantains. Once you order make sure to order drinks right away because it's a bit of a wait. I ordered the arrow con pollo and it was ok. Didn't include the beans so ordered them separately. We ordered the our appetizers and asked for lemon 3 times before we had to flag someone down for some. It took us 15 minutes to have someone check on our table, after sending one of my friends to look for our server. To get some water it took about 20 minutes for a refill. I consider Havana Cafe a neighborhood gem because they have four excellent characteristics. Which are good fresh food, great drinks, polite, professional service and an excellent vibe. I am warmly welcomed to the cafe and seated courteously. Someone comes over with water as soon as Im seated. Shortly after, about 5 minutes later your server comes to your table and introduces themselves as my wait person. I asks about the drinks and they give their opinion and so far all recommendations have been on point. I don't think the wait time for drinks is too long. Of course when all tables are occupied it might take a little longer but the wait is not noticeable. I often read menus before I go out to eat so I'm not taking too long to decide what I'm going to eat. However Havana Cafe offerings are many and very delicious so I struggle a bit with what I'm going to eat. I like the name Havana Cafe. It helps me to feel like I'm in a cafe with good drinks, good food, cool people and great vibes. read more
