Warning: Avoid Hawaii Moving Pros in Honolulu - Classic Bait-and-Switch We hired Hawaii Moving Pros in Honolulu after speaking with Chris a week ago. We accepted their quoted price, paid a deposit, and confirmed everything again the day before the move. On move day (May 9, 2026), Foreman Barak Segal showed up, looked at our items, and immediately demanded a 20% price increase. He said it was because he had to walk to the loading dock and do professional wrapping on our buffet and artworks. He told us the original price was "just an estimate," that he -- not customer service -- was in charge, and if we didn't pay more he would simply walk away. He even claimed he had already "invested over $1,000" in the job. We were extremely uncomfortable trusting our furniture and artwork with someone who changes the price on the spot like this. We declined. He left our house. Twenty minutes later, Chris (the sales guy) called and offered a $200 off. We declined and cancelled. This is very unprofessional and dishonest. They lock you in with a nice quote and deposit, then hit you with a big increase on move day. We are now fighting to get our deposit back. MOVE FROM HILO, HAWAII TO HENDERSON, NEVADA IN JUNE 2024: We initially contacted Hawaii Moving Pros back in April 2023 to get an estimate for shipping cost from Hilo, Hawaii to Henderson, Nevada. Mo was our initial contact in Honolulu, Hawaii. He did all the estimates, the updates and he kept in contact with us the entire time. Mo also helped us with coordinating shipping both of our vehicles from port in Hilo, to our door in Henderson as well. Mo was awesome, he is down to earth, very personable, courteous, extremely knowledgeable and he returned all our calls in a very quick and timely manner. Chris, in the Los Angeles office was very helpful as well, he was able to assist us and answer all of our questions and concerns. We finally sold our homes in Hilo and were able to move in June 2024. Hawaii Moving Pros pick up team in Hilo, were Tim and Ricky. They were very personable and handled our 32 boxes with care and the labeling and documentation were outstanding. The Hawaii Moving Pros deliverers in Henderson were Manny, Dave and another guy, we didn't get his name. They picked up all of our household goods from the port of Los Angeles and delivered it to our home in Henderson, Nevada. They were very personable, friendly and handled our 32 boxes with care as well. Very nice people to deal with. Hawaii Moving Pros made our move a lot easier and less stressful. if I could give 0 stars I would. Going to try and keep this short and to the point. This is for household goods delivery from Hawaii to California. 1. Never mentioned or offered us a "full coverage option" (when it is required by law). 2. Broke all of our big furniture. Offered us pennies for it (65 cents per pound). 3. Did not check in boxes as they were bringing it in to new location. They had no idea what boxes were delivered and what was not. 4. Boxes were packed anywhich way. Heavy items were packed over fragile items and liquids were placed wherever. No method to their packing. 5. We were missing boxes (because we checked off our boxes before unpacking or getting rid of empty boxes). They simply told us "we are not in possession of those boxes" and will not reimburse. 6. I received 2 of my commander's boxes. Because I know him, I reached out to him and let him know. He reached out to the company and they denied anything was lost. So he asked me to contact them, I did and sent them photos of his boxes along with a picture of him and his wife that was in the box. They changed their tune then. 7. Mover tried to get me to sign the final documents that said everything was delivered and in good condition. I mentioned all the broken items and that none of the damage was noted on the form. He said "we will note it at the warehouse". Total BS. So I went thru and noted it myself before signing and he looked Like he did not like that. 8. Customer service is a nightmare. I have sent 10 emails and called more times than that for my certified weight tickets so my finance office can reimburse me. Everything about this move was crappy. They subbed out the pickup to a unprofessional Unskilled crew who broke my bed frame before even leaving my house. They they drove around Oahu for two days with my shipment in thier truck. We had trackers in our stuff so we would. Know where it was. Stuff arrived Stat on pier in O'ahu for over a week because they didn't get it to the ship in time and had to wait for the next shil. Then it sat in California for a week before pick up. The driver was fast and delivered our stuff quickly which we appreciate. After unloading it was noted that some items were missing or damaged. I hand wrote on the sheet about the damaged bedframe as the driver told me to do. They were unable set up the bed because of the damage and missing parts. The driver said he was making a note of it. We noted at least 4 items were missing on the invoice. That night unpacking we were able to figure out what was missing at the same time the driver messaged me and stated he had found some of our items. He did in fact stop back by and deliver 2 boxes from the list but not the missing bed slats or screws and bolts for bed. I Immediately contacted Hawaii moving pros. I filled out thier forms. Sent pictures and notes. They asked me about my own insurance which I also had. So I contacted my insurance who advised they only covered the lost stuff not broken and since I had a $500 deductable and what ever the movers would pay they would deduct that as well. They estimated my value of about $1500 but I would. Only get about $300 after the movers pay. So I reached back out to HMP ​and they processed my claim. Then Jose contacted me and asked about my rentera insurance and I explained what I knew. They processed my claim. And offered me $24 and accused me of lying about missing stuff including bed slats. I refused their offer as the broken bed and missing slats cost me over $1200 not Including my missing bras, underwear, fan and memorabilia. This ended up being the worst move I have had and I have hired a lot of people over the years. The only shining light was MO the Custer service person who answered my 100 emails prior to the move confirming stuff. He went above and beyond and is not part of my complaint. read more

$14,000 to ship, with $6000 of damages!!!!!!!! This company is by far one of the worst logistical companies that I have ever worked with. They contract everything out. Will use the lowest bidder and won't care if your belongings get damaged. Customer support is just about as useless as the movers they use. Also, they have a clause that any damaged item is refunded at a cost of $.60 a pound... They broke your fridge. "Sorry, here's $60. You ship a family dresser. Broken drawers that need to be rebuilt. "Sorry, here's $40. DO NOT SHIP ANYTHING WITH THIS COMPANY, ESPECIALLY ANYTHING DELICATE, LARGE, EMOTIONAL TIES, AND AUTOMOTIVE! Their initial quote was very much a sales pitch to get you to hurry up and put a deposit, but I was in a pinch and needed to get my belongings moved. I was closing a divorce, sold the house, and traveling for military orders. They will ask for a deposit, send you the cost analysis and travel days after, then won't uphold to their own words... Less than 45 days is what they said from the Midwest to Hawaii. When a subcontracted company comes out to acquire your belongings. They make a list for you on an inventory sheet, labeling everything as "Box 1", "Tote 2", etc. They throw your boxes and totes into a rental truck. Hand you a paper to sign and say this is everything on the list, right? No, it's not everything on the list, and the items listed are not valid labels for what containers or items are. They left behind 5 large items that I had to hire a different company to ship. 3x Invoices later from an estimated cost went from 3.5k to 6.9k and then 9.8k... This all happened after they procured my belongings. Then I was told that there was an issue at storage, then an issue with the trucking, then an issue with the port security, then they couldn't pass inspection... 3 months later! They were 15 days behind their own schedule of delivery and fought with me for over a week about the proposed arrival time and actual arrival time. Each day late, they give you $15 in a refund. Receiving my belongings, half my boxes were significantly damaged. 3/4 of my storage bins are cracked. My tool chest is dented in 10 spots. Then the real kicker is they shipped my motorcycle (HD Bagger), which is not a small or light bike without a shipping crate! The representative that I had during this entire process ensured that my bike would be in a crate once it had left my residence. I read out to this representative several times with no response at all. He already got paid... When I reached out to Customer Service, I was interrogated on how my belongings were packed and how they were inventoried. I need to submit photos of before and after of each damaged item. HHP contracted a company to pack my belongings up, move them, and unpack them. How do I know what or how every piece was packed, and if it was packed appropriately? It's not the customer's job! I eventually got pictures of everything that was damaged or broken and submitted a 6-page "Claims List" to their request. A month later, I finally got hold of someone about this claim. The response I got was: "Due to our policy, our basic valuation of $0.60 per pound is all that we will refund. The list of items that you provided didn't match the inventory sheet, so we also won't be refunding anything that isn't on the inventory list. I can't tell you who to hire but look at my photos and make up your own mind. The staff in Hawaii packed my stuff well. The problem is the other side. My stuff was late. Weels late. Damaged and 4 boxes are missing. The team that showed up, 1/2 didn't speak English and they were the ones I was attempting to explain that boxes are missing. I've moved 6 times. I know how to pack. I know how to move. These bozos destroyed items that were secured in bubble wrap inside an individual container, in a box. That takes talent. I'll be reporting them to the BBB. And Richard- your "customer service" person. Useless. Oh and the movers who came left their crap on my front lawn. I'll have to hire someone to remove it. They refused to take it with them. The last piece of BS. They said they couldn't get a truck down my street so they charged me an extra amount to transfer to a smaller truck. I told them they could get a moving truck on my street. Move from HI to NH, ended terribly. Only needed a moving company to transport 1 piece of furniture. The entire reasoning behind hiring movers was to get a 90 lbs tv stand from Hawaii to New Hampshire and have them carry it into the new place. After spending over $4,500, and packing all of my own things so they just needed to load the truck, they managed to lose the largest and most notable item. When it came time for delivery, the service rep told me one day, then when that day arrived the driver called and told me the next day. Very frustrating to have to continuously accommodate their inability to communicate. Delivery day comes, and at the time the truck was supposed to be arriving, the driver calls to inform me he has just woken up and will not be arriving for another hour. Additionally, he tried multiple times to say his truck would not fit in the loading dock at the unit and that I needed to pay another $400. I understand this is the policy, however the 73' truck fit perfectly fine in the loading dock that is literally designed for trucks like that. Once he was done unloading the now beat up boxes, (a 1 man delivery team - maybe they just didn't want to carry the tv stand so they "lost it") we asked about the missing item and we were told the warehouse would be checked and we would receive a call back with information. DO NOT use this company. We had a 10 x 20 storage unit full to 8 ft high of mostly boxes and just a few pieces of furniture everything already packed and wrapped. My husband explained this in detail repeatedly to both our point of contact Josh and the estimator Michael. They were fixated on number of boxes which we could not give them a number for but based on the size of our storage unit they easily should have been able to compute the total volume of space needed in a truck and container for shipping. They misquoted us several times insisting they needed a number of boxes. The day before our move they asked for pictures which we sent and they admitted they never looked at. They contract with local movers who arrived from the Bay Area to pick up our shipment with a truck that was barely big enough, and we were charged a large additional fee on the day of the move because of the inability of Josh and Michael to make these calculations. Shouldn't an estimator be able to compute 10x20x8 for volume? The local movers on the mainland and in hawaiI both did a great job With loading and unloading. but any part of the move handled by Hawaii moving pros was a disaster, including the fact that our shipment was delayed at the port in Hawaii with no information from them until the last possible day it was supposed to be here. This company is awful! They tell you your stuff will arrive within 4-6 weeks. It has been 48 business days and my stuff still hasn't arrived. In the fine print, they have 45 business days to get your stuff to you and if not they only pay you $30/day delay. The customer service is really bad - they don't answer the phone, don't respond to email, continuously tell you that they have no way to confirm a delivery date. The movers that came to the house sat around and played video games saying they were trying to earn more hours. I asked them to have everything out in time for the cleaners. At this point, I am just hoping that ALL of my stuff arrives unbroken. Do not use this company!! I wish I had read more reviews before going with them. Check out reviews on BBB too. read more

BEWARE! This is a horrible company!! They will tell you what you want to hear. Once you have signed the contract things go south. Believe the poor reviews. I didn't and I suffered for it. A 38" computer monitor missing (stolen?). A 55" monitor damaged; cracked from edge-to-edge. Once they deliver your goods and leave as fast as they can, they go silent if you need to talk about damaged goods. Was assured my e-bike with battery could be moved. I had to leave this $2500 bike behind because the mover refused to put it on the truck even though we were continually assured it could go as long as the lithium battery was in a steel box, which it was. The rep outright lied. The manager says he bent over backwards for me, yet I paid for a service I did not receive. The lady that takes payment is just plain rude; just pay your money and shut up. I wanted to cancel but they started doing these things when we were too close to the move date and I didn't have time to hire a different company.
