We tried the hibisco disco and Lil'koi sour. Both were delicious! Everyone here was kind and made the experience even better. Definitely worth the try if you're visiting the area! :)

Managed to sneak in a visit during their soft opener. Sampled 75% of their tapls and everything was solid. After a bunch of tasters I went for a full pour of the Galactic Haze. Delicious! The space is bright and comfortable and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I wish them every success.

Awesome owners, cute place, super friendly and informative and had great recommendations around the island. Tried the flight, the rice later and various ipa's were awesome. Got to try the new chocolate port, and it was delicious. So glad we got to try this new spot.

    Their menu on 4-16-26!

But what really got us all excited was how juicy the Kalua pork sliders were; it ends up dribbling on the plate. Maybe we caught them at a bad time, but the food and beer were mediocre at best. I enjoy trying local beers as close to the source as possible, so going to local brewpubs is something my wife and I try to do regularly. It was our third day in Kauai, so made this our lunch choice, and we were hungry after a long tour. There was plenty of parking in the dedicated lot, and it wasn't too busy when we stopped in after 1:30 on a Wednesday. We were greeted promptly and got to choose where we sat, in a picnic table with plenty of space. Chose two house draft beers: Honopu Hefeweizen ($9) which was not good...very weak and watery. But the Hanakoa Cream ale was worse ($9)...chose it because of a local cream ale from Wisconsin that I love. But it tasted more like a glass of lite pilsner, more like a Miller Lite than a cream ale. I had to finish both...should have just ordered one. The food came out a bit later. We wanted to share the local Style Smoke meat plate (sounded promising), which was a plate of pork shoulder ($16). Plenty of it, but it felt like leftover meat, reheated in a sugary sauce...looked and tasted like Tocino (which isn't my favorite), not like pulled pork/kalua pork. It came with a scoop of white rice. I got the spicy Poke ($19) which used good quality raw ahi tuna. It had lots of tasty, spicy mayo and was enjoyable. But the rice was not cooked well (it was mushy), and I had to ask myself: why has the rice been so mediocre for our first two days? (It got better as the trip went on). My wife got the Huli Huli Veg & Rice plate ($25)...not good. Just two pieces of chicken breast meat (coming from frozen) with a very light sauce (flavorless) and the carrots were big chunks, candied, which is not what we expected. Brought most of this back to our hotel (since we had a fridge), but neither one of us touched it for the rest of the trip. Pricing is inconsistent (the chicken plate should have been the cheapest item considering the ingredients and prep work). Payment was done through Toast, and there was a 3% service charge for using credit card.

(Note live music in Kauai seems to be loud all around) we yelled to the host that we wanted inside seating. We were seated quick. Staff checked on us often and offered insights on the locality. I got a flight of decent brews, and my wife got a special drink made up for her as recommended by staff. We ordered a pizza which was enough for four people. Great taste, and not a long wait. This is the most western brewery in the USA, and it is a great watering hole when cruising the southside of Kauai. Recommend the strong local vibe and friendly staff. It is a bar first, then an eatery. I wish I had more time to look upstairs as there seems to be a lot of retro pinball machines somewhere. I hope to make it back.

For a business that proudly advertises itself as family- and child-friendly, this was an incredibly disappointing experience. Apparently, that welcome only extends to families whose children fit a certain mold. Not every child can eat restaurant food. Not every family wants to publicly disclose their child's personal challenges to satisfy a hostess. A little compassion, discretion, and common sense would have gone a long way. Instead, we were made to feel unwelcome and chose to leave. Families with children who have sensory, developmental, medical, or other special considerations should be aware that they may not receive the understanding or accommodation they would reasonably expect from a "family-friendly" establishment. We will not be returning.

Every day is a different experience as they use different rums and premixes. We came on the Mai Tai day with about 10 others. When signing up, it looks like they can sometimes charge, but there was no cost when we signed up. It is located across from a modern shopping area, next to the local highway (not fast). You enter the plantation area that is a wide open flat grass kept area leading to large older building and entertainment like plantation tours, train and restaurant. Drive the little winding path to the left side and there is the Koloa building with a gift shop and tasting room. When you check in at the gift shop you can browse or wait on the porch. They will check ID and confirm no children. In the bar tasting room, you will be given a large shot and then tasters, not more than 2 shots total in liquor. You can ask for water, and you can use one of the two shot glasses to pour any leftovers into if you don't like one of the rums. NO SHARING, it is part of their license requirements. Great rum. I will not explain because that is part of the experience and they do it much better. Friendly staff. No pressure. After the tasting, they offered to take pictures and answer questions. I noticed this place was nearby, so a group of us grabbed a quick and inexpensive Uber over there. There are several shops in the area, but the main gift shop here was definitely worth the stop. They had a huge selection of merchandise along with just about every rum they make from mini sampler bottles to full 750 mL bottles. One of the best surprises was finding out they offer a free rum tasting every hour. We happened to arrive about five minutes before the next one started, so we joined in. The bartender running the tasting was fantastic... super knowledgeable, funny, and engaging. He made the whole experience a lot of fun, even for people in our group who weren't big rum drinkers. After the tasting, all of us ended up back in the gift shop buying something, whether it was rum, shirts, hats, or souvenirs. Since I live in California, I checked Total Wine online while we were there to see which bottles were available back home so I wouldn't have to pack everything in my luggage. I was pleasantly surprised they carried quite a few of their products. I ended up buying several of the mini bottles that aren't sold in California, along with a hat and T-shirt. Before heading back, we grabbed some pineapple ice cream from the stand outside while waiting for our Uber, which was the perfect way to end the visit. We all had a great time here, and I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area, even if rum isn't usually your thing.
