Great little shop we were happy to drive by and stop. We are big on our wines belonging to many clubs back home and doing lots of little couple day trips for tastings. We found the shop to have a fun selection of wines from all over. Price was a little high but to be honest I would expect that for a shop its size in the location it is. This trip was not about wine for us so we ended up getting little items for snacks versus any bottles. I would also note a good number of cigars there as well which if I hadn't of brought mine with me we would of surely bought. A good place to check out as the wine selections at restaurants on Kauai is just plain not good. read more

Wine Wine Wine. We were coming back from the beach and wanted to get a good bottle of Vino for a BYO place. Well, stopped at the lite we see a big ol sign for wine beer and cigars ... perfect! One of the owners was working the store and we found her both pleasant and knowledgable. We are from so ca and are fairly knowledgeable about wine. The store had many great bottles of both Sonoma and Central Ca (paso) wines. Turley, Paul Hobbs, Orin Swift, Lyme Callodo etc. Also good internationals ... Molly Dooker, lots of 90+ Parker wines if your into that. Note not many bordeaux's but high end opus and insignia if u want to splurge. Best part was the wines were very well priced ... Only about $5 more per bottle on the best prices I get at my deep discounters in ca. - defiantly a surprise on the island. They also had a great selection of cigars ... Although a bit pricey given the high local tax ... I think you get that all over the island. So if u know wine u will love this place ,,, if u don't but want a good bottle at a fair price, look at the WS and Parker ratings to guide you they have listed on shelf. read more

I was only on this island for a short time, looking for an independent wine shop to get a few nice bottles. Coming from the extremely large and endless wine shops of Los angeles, seattle, etc, this was unbelievably impressive. Small but mighty! Lots of truly fantastic producers from all over the world, sure it's a little bit expensive but so is everything in Hawaii, not unfair at all. Proprietor was very knowledgeable and helpful, not to mention friendly. Killer selection of cigars, beer, mead as well. A serious wine shop for serious wine drinkers who don't want to overpay. read more

We stopped in here on our way to the south shores in search of Kauai cigars. They had a very large selection. Unfortunately they were w bit more than my husband wanted to pay. But it was an education experience. The shop owner told us the history of the Island Prince Cigar company. Their cigars are made with locally grown Kauai tobacco. Leaves from some other country...sorry I forgot. I don't smoke these things so I stopped listening and investigated the wine selection. They did have a good size wine selection for a small store. They also had some beer in a fridge. We didn't end up buying anything. But it was a pleasant stop. I'd check this place out of you want cigars, they had more than just one from Kauai. They also had large quanatities avaiable too which is harder to find. read more

The wine selection here seemed relatively limited, but then again, perhaps I've just been spoiled here in Cali. They carried a number of very good wines from CA and they had a fairly good collection of local wine. The only thing that put me off from this shop was the fact that the guy working there when I visited literally read the tasting notes of each wine off the computer while I was trying to choose one to try. I know he was just trying to be helpful, but it became obvious quite quickly that he was no wine connoisseur. But that was okay b/c I don't typically ask for help choosing wines anyways. On another note, when my bf and I visited the shop, we were stoked to find that they carried our favorite cigars, Fuentes! That seriously made our day! All in all, not the best place on the island, but definitely not the worst either! read more

I am a big fan of this place for numerous reasons. First and foremost, the owner is extremely nice and friendly. She is the salt of the Earth, and she encompasses exactly the kind of aloha spirit one would hope to find on the island. I had called up on a recent visit to Kauai to inquire if she had pipe tobacco along with their assortment of cigars. I was told they do, and when I made a trip to the Wine Garden, I not only found a nice selection of competitively priced cigars and pipe tobacco, but I also found a very nice selection of wine. As stated before, their prices are competitive too. I found a bottle of wine there that only cost $2 more than on the mainland. In the end, I made numerous trips to this place during my trip for both wine and pipe tobacco. The owners of this place are doing it right!!! Thanks again!!! Aloha!!! read more

These people have a wonderful selection of micro brewed craft beers. The wine of course is a wonderful selection, but as beer drinkers my husband and I are constantly trying to find where we can buy craft beers on kauai. They are husband and wife, super friendly. Personal and caring business. I LOVE the Arctic rhino porter carried here, and as far as the selection goes it's always alternating, although they keep popular and highly desired items in Stock. The most uniquely diverse and reasonably priced selection of wines on the island, plus a knowledgable and committed owner.

We (the family and I) came to know and love the Wine Garden 7 years ago and continue to support Colleen in her efforts to sell fine wine to the locals and tourists of Kauai. The shop has increased in size and that translates to a better diversity of wine, beer and cigars that is offered. We visited again last night as they were hosting a tasting that included Pride Cab 08 (I've yet to see a shop on the mainland offer Pride in a tasting). WG's prices are more than fair considering that the wine has to be shipped and then go through distribution. Case in point, SeaSmoke Southing 08 for $72.99/each. This wine releases @ $45 or so, more than fair. Please, if you visit Kauai, consider shopping here, the people are friendly, the offering is diverse and the prices are more than reasonable. read more

My boyfriend and I love The Wine Garden! We lived on Kauai for six years but are both from the continental United States and KNOW that this place has the biggest selection of really good wines on the island. We also loved the selection of beers stocked here - beers you can't buy at a regular liquor store or at the grocery - and you can buy singles of most (maybe all), which means you can try new beers, which we did regularly. Collette is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, without being intrusive or pushy, and we tried many good wines on her recommendation. She also sells locally made products (Hawaiian salt / spices, candy, souvenirs), which are fairly priced (and hard to resist, even though we lived there!). We didn't go anywhere else for good wine or beer, and wholeheartedly recommend this shop (we just moved islands and miss this place a lot!). read more

I love this store! The Wine Garden had the best wine selection of any shop on Kauai. They had some fabulous labels I never expected to find on Kauai. And, on top of that their prices were great! About the same as what I've seen in California. And Colette, the owner and proprietor, was very knowledgeable and warm and friendly. The Wine Garden doesn't sell hard liquor, so you can't get that there, but they had a great selection of imported cigars and some very unusual beers that I hadn't seen anywhere else.
