I order from here at least once a week and it's always superb. Excellent food and reasonable prices. The meals are simple (rice, macaroni, meat) but they do it right and that's what I care about! Recommended 100%!!!

Ordered takeout yesterday and it was delicious. It was my first time trying this and I loved the flavors. Everything was wrapped really well for takeout. I wish there was more pineapple because it tasted so good in the chicken. I loved it and will definitely try again!

Huli huli chicken (left), luau pig (right). Amazing portions!!

Aside from the now customary "build-your-own" poke bowls, the Hawaiian food scene in Austin is surprisingly lacking. I live in downtown, and a Yelp search for "Hawaiian food near me" yields irrelevant entries like Jamaican or Korean food?? So it's great that Hawaiian Bros brings a cuisine that is otherwise hard to find in this area. I've included a photo of my latest order. The food tastes great and is a hefty portion size. I got the large combo for ~$20, and this lasted me like 3 meals! Talk about getting my money's worth! Definitely get the Luau Pig. A Hawaiian restaurant that can't do Kalua Pork isn't real! Luckily, theirs's is delicious. Any of their chicken entries are great as well - they have a fantastic sauce coating. This is a very carb-loaded meal, so I highly recommend replacing one of your rice sides for veggies. But do you want to know the main reason I give this place 5 stars? They have shown me that they strive to improve. I ordered from here nearly a year ago and wasn't as impressed. The mac salad tasted odd. The meat was good but the portions were disappointing. They are clearly listening and working towards a better service. From my order this week, I was very happy with the portions and the mac salad was addicting! My one constructive criticism: a lot of the chicken entrees taste similar. If you can find a way to diversify them more, or add a new entrée, I think that would greatly improve your selections!

Good food, bad ethics! If you order a large plate ($20), just know that there's a huge rice bed underneath the meat, they make it seem like you're getting this large portion of meat, when in reality it's just a normal portion over a nice fat bed of rice underneath it, and then they call it "LARGE". Too top that, they serve you a big fat rice ball as one of your sides, it's like who needs this much rice? What a joke! That's a shady way to run a business, freakin ridiculous! If I were to re-order from here again, I would definitely substitute my rice ball out for some more veggies or macaroni salad (the macaroni salad was so bomb!). I got three different types of chicken, and they practically all tasted the same, literally! The only way I could differentiate any of them was the fact that one of them had green onions, and one of them was a little bit spicy. Aside from that I don't know if I really would've been able to tell that much of a difference, and that's unfortunate considering that most of their menu is chicken. Everything was super filling, and it wasn't to bad, aside the fact that half the container was rice. I definitely don't think this is the most healthy place to eat, considering all you're getting is protein on top of carbs, with a side of carbs and another side of carbs covered in mayonnaise. If you are trying to be healthy they are gonna charge you extra for vegetables or fruit. Hawaiian Bros, you have potential, but you've got some work to do!

No veggies no sauce an no pineapple skewer smh

Didn't get what I paid for can't call anyone to fix rather drive to San Marcus than get played by here again this is the 3rd time I've had enough food not hot enough to be messing up peoples orders.

The chicken substitute for our spam musubi orders

My family wanted to like the food and be supportive since we love Hawaiian food. We ordered through Door Dash. We expected to get 1 huli huli chicken plate and 3 spam musubis. We didn't get any of the spam musubis. Instead they just gave us more chicken. Really disappointed that they didn't even bother to get our order right. In addition, the huli huli chicken tasted like day old teriyaki chicken.

Ask the Community - Hawaiian Bros Island Grill

So they're not actually Hawaiian but call themselves hawaiian bros?

Right. One of the managers answered a review saying that the owners were from Oregon. Someone else mentioned that they did research and the owners were from Kansas. The food certainly doesn't taste like anything I have eaten in Hawaii

My department is hosting a baby shower (at work), and our mom-to-be had one request: Franklin's BBQ. SO what mama wants, mama gets! Knowing my anxiety wasn't going to let me stand in the famous line, I placed a preorder and scheduled a pickup time. Best. Decision. Ever. When I arrived, I saw the long line outside and immediately felt validated. I drove around back and was thrilled to find dedicated parking for pre-order pickups. There was also a covered waiting area with seating, picnic tables with umbrellas, and a very organized check-in process. I gave them my name, and they started preparing my order while I waited. Inside, they have a great selection of merchandise, from hats, patches, keychains, and engraved YETIs to playing cards, trays, and even adorable baby onesies and toddler T-shirts. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions. While waiting, I mentioned I live in the Mueller neighborhood, and they told me about their new location (private event) nearby that I'd noticed while out walking. One of my favorite parts of the visit was chatting with another customer. Her family had flown from San Francisco to Houston, driven to Austin, spent around $2,000 on Franklin Barbecue, and planned to pack it in coolers with ice packs before driving back to Houston to catch their flight home. It was all for her brother's 40th birthday. That's when it really hit me how iconic this place is. People literally travel across the country just for this barbecue. When my order was ready, everything was packed perfectly with all the fixings. They even included a thoughtful little gift for the mom-to-be, which was such a sweet and unexpected touch. The hardest part was driving to work with that incredible smell filling my car. And then there was the brisket. Wow. It absolutely lived up to the hype. It was tender, juicy, perfectly smoky, and unquestionably the star of the meal. Every bite practically melted in your mouth. After finally tasting it for myself, I have to admit, it might actually be worth waiting in that famous line. We made our own sides to accommodate everyone, including gluten-free cornbread, regular cornbread, homemade mac and cheese, and fresh fruit cups. The barbecue was the centerpiece of a wonderful baby shower full of games and laughter, and it made our first-time mom's celebration even more special. If you've been avoiding Franklin because you don't want to stand in line, don't overlook the preorder option. It was easy, organized, and completely stress-free. I'll definitely be doing it this way again.

The Robot Ramen was light, yet rich, the meat was succulent (and not too thin, at the risk of being dry) and the noodles were al dente--both were cooked nicely. Really enjoyed the Pom mule drink on happy hour. The cucumber refresher was a little too sweet for me. The spinach dumplings and barbacoa dumplings were both great! Yuka-tekkan was a let down for me, just not very flavorful. Overall, would definitely come back for some rolls and the happy hour! We filled it out and chose our pickup time. We saw the truck in a parking lot, we parked and walked up to the ordering/pickup window. We told the person at the window that we placed an order online and she let us know that it wasn't working. So she asked if she could take our order. We agreed, placed our order, and paid. She let us know that it would take about 10-15 minutes as there were orders in front of ours. It wasn't a problem. We just walked around a little bit and before we knew it our food was ready so we took our bag of food and went home to eat. Initially I intended to order the Mañanera Burger but it was not available. So I decided to order the Hawaiian Burger which comes with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, jack cheese, pineapple, ham, jalapenos, mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. I ordered my burger without jalapenos and without mayonnaise. I also ordered a side of onion rings. The burger was delicious. You could taste the char from the grill and it was cooked perfectly. Most of the other ingredients were fresh. The pineapple added a sweet flavor while the ham gave it a slight saltines. The cheese was melted to the burger. My burger could have used a few more small onions and some crisper pickles. The onion rings were really good. They were super crispy on the outside with a good sized onion inside.
