AMBIANCE: - It's a ghost kitchen and not an actual restaurant, but there are a few tables and chairs to sit at. Plenty of parking. FOOD: - The Honolulu chicken was tasty and had a good portion size for the price. It came with 2 sides: rice and mac salad

Ordered takeout yesterday and it was delicious. It was my first time trying this and I loved the flavors. Everything was wrapped really well for takeout. I wish there was more pineapple because it tasted so good in the chicken. I loved it and will definitely try again!

Huli huli chicken (left), luau pig (right). Amazing portions!!

Aside from the now customary "build-your-own" poke bowls, the Hawaiian food scene in Austin is surprisingly lacking. I live in downtown, and a Yelp search for "Hawaiian food near me" yields irrelevant entries like Jamaican or Korean food?? So it's great that Hawaiian Bros brings a cuisine that is otherwise hard to find in this area. I've included a photo of my latest order. The food tastes great and is a hefty portion size. I got the large combo for ~$20, and this lasted me like 3 meals! Talk about getting my money's worth! Definitely get the Luau Pig. A Hawaiian restaurant that can't do Kalua Pork isn't real! Luckily, theirs's is delicious. Any of their chicken entries are great as well - they have a fantastic sauce coating. This is a very carb-loaded meal, so I highly recommend replacing one of your rice sides for veggies. But do you want to know the main reason I give this place 5 stars? They have shown me that they strive to improve. I ordered from here nearly a year ago and wasn't as impressed. The mac salad tasted odd. The meat was good but the portions were disappointing. They are clearly listening and working towards a better service. From my order this week, I was very happy with the portions and the mac salad was addicting! My one constructive criticism: a lot of the chicken entrees taste similar. If you can find a way to diversify them more, or add a new entrée, I think that would greatly improve your selections!

Good food, bad ethics! If you order a large plate ($20), just know that there's a huge rice bed underneath the meat, they make it seem like you're getting this large portion of meat, when in reality it's just a normal portion over a nice fat bed of rice underneath it, and then they call it "LARGE". Too top that, they serve you a big fat rice ball as one of your sides, it's like who needs this much rice? What a joke! That's a shady way to run a business, freakin ridiculous! If I were to re-order from here again, I would definitely substitute my rice ball out for some more veggies or macaroni salad (the macaroni salad was so bomb!). I got three different types of chicken, and they practically all tasted the same, literally! The only way I could differentiate any of them was the fact that one of them had green onions, and one of them was a little bit spicy. Aside from that I don't know if I really would've been able to tell that much of a difference, and that's unfortunate considering that most of their menu is chicken. Everything was super filling, and it wasn't to bad, aside the fact that half the container was rice. I definitely don't think this is the most healthy place to eat, considering all you're getting is protein on top of carbs, with a side of carbs and another side of carbs covered in mayonnaise. If you are trying to be healthy they are gonna charge you extra for vegetables or fruit. Hawaiian Bros, you have potential, but you've got some work to do!

Didn't get what I paid for can't call anyone to fix rather drive to San Marcus than get played by here again this is the 3rd time I've had enough food not hot enough to be messing up peoples orders.

The chicken substitute for our spam musubi orders

My family wanted to like the food and be supportive since we love Hawaiian food. We ordered through Door Dash. We expected to get 1 huli huli chicken plate and 3 spam musubis. We didn't get any of the spam musubis. Instead they just gave us more chicken. Really disappointed that they didn't even bother to get our order right. In addition, the huli huli chicken tasted like day old teriyaki chicken.

I was genuinely excited to check this spot out and left severely underwhelmed. The good? Well, our server was attentive and nice. 10/10. The drinks were pretty on point for a tiki bar. The ambiance is primo, and it's genuinely a great place for a date to have drinks. The bad? The food was very lackluster. We ordered the following: Snow Crab Musubi: I honestly don't understand how you mess this up. The menu claims it comes with kewpie mayo (my favorite) and chives, but the quenelle of crab that was put on top of the rice was bone dry, falling apart, didn't appear to have any chives, and was served with a haggard lemon wedge. There was zero fat to coat the tongue, and it legitimately tasted like unseasoned crab with sushi rice that didn't even have a hint of acidity to it. As someone who takes pride in his work as a chef, at the $14 price point, this sort of rubbed me the wrong way. As a matter of fact, it felt borderline pretentious. This is coming from a guy whose mentor was the R&D chef of the best restaurant in the entire world. And no, I'm not being hyperbolic. I simply take pride in my work. This restaurant group actually has an R&D kitchen, and the best thing they can muster up is this half-baked dish? Do a light cold smoke on the crab, make a nice Knorr-based soy mayo for some umami, and top that f*cker with something to brighten it up. Preferably something that has synergy with... I don't know, Hawaiian BBQ. I felt like I was eating a lackluster Asian version of a Crab Louie Salad. It was absolutely bonkers. Slingin Shrimp: This honestly wasn't that bad, but the presentation and portion size could use a little love. The shrimp submarine makes it a bit awkward to eat. Butterfly the shrimp. It will sit nicely on top of the rice and give it more appeal. As mentioned before, the sushi rice had zero acidity to it and simply not well seasoned. Li'l Octo Karaage: It tasted great, but the guys in the kitchen need to know how to cook squid. It was far too chewy, which is unpleasant. This is a quality issue that could easily be remedied. I will also say the fryer oil appeared a little old because the fry itself had a fairly dark appearance. The drinks and ambiance were the only highlights. It has really cool decor and a cozy vibe to it. If you're looking to get a couple of nice drinks after dining out or you're pregaming? This is a solid spot. If you're looking to impress a date or a friend from out of town? That's going to be a nope from me, dawg. Admittedly, that crab musubi just irked me. So boring. No love. Just unfiltered nonsense that only the uninitiated would be impressed by. I actually applied to work at their R&D spot a few years back, and from the looks of it, they could use a guy like me. Again, I was very excited to finally dine at this spot. Their ramen establishments tend to be fairly on point. Their dashis are great. No idea what's going on at their tiki spot.

We just walked around a little bit and before we knew it our food was ready so we took our bag of food and went home to eat. Initially I intended to order the Mañanera Burger but it was not available. So I decided to order the Hawaiian Burger which comes with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, jack cheese, pineapple, ham, jalapenos, mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. I ordered my burger without jalapenos and without mayonnaise. I also ordered a side of onion rings. The burger was delicious. You could taste the char from the grill and it was cooked perfectly. Most of the other ingredients were fresh. The pineapple added a sweet flavor while the ham gave it a slight saltines. The cheese was melted to the burger. My burger could have used a few more small onions and some crisper pickles. The onion rings were really good. They were super crispy on the outside with a good sized onion inside. I usually eat my onion rings with ketchup but I didn't need any. The onion rings were tasty on their own. Overall this food truck had delicious burgers and onion rings. The service was good despite the online ordering system not working. It was a very filling and tasty dinner.
