This place makes good shaved ice. They offer a lot of flavors and let you mix a few. Super casual fast place. There's some seating around around. Service was great. The employee was so nice and patient with us. We weren't sure what's the month of flavors were. We also didn't know what li hung mui was, and she was so great in explaining it to us.

This is my favorite shave ice place! They have all kinds of toppings from passion jam to condensed milk, to ice cream and candies. They also have boba drinks and slushees. As much as I love the shave ice, my favorite thing here is the halo halo! It's not too sweet, and so uniquely delicious.

Having Pina Colada shaved ice on 10/9/22 at Hawaiian Ice Cones

On my visit 10/9/22, I ordered a pina colada shaved ice with ice cream and pineapple chunks, tacos and Mango smoothie. I must say I was impressed with all of it. The Pina colada shaved ice was enough for two people to share. The tacos were also on hit and helped to curb my hunger pangs. For $8, you get two tacos your choice of chicken, pork and streak. For $5, they have lots of different flavored choice of smoothies. I asked for a Mango and noticed that was not on the menu but they made it for me any way. Line wasn't too long when i got there but it had gotten longer as I waited for my order to be made. Apparently, it was only one lady working so the rest of the people waiting in line had to wait for her to finish making my order before they could be helped. Maybe she was short staffed on this particular day.

I think nostalgia hit me, coming here after visiting Hawaii twice before. However, after visiting other shaved ice places, this wasn't as good as I remembered. The ice wasn't as soft as other places. Outdoor seating. It's fine if you're there and want shaved ice or whatever, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

We stop here and have some shaved ice. It seemed decent enough to us, but then again we are tourists who don't know any better. The one thing I found very odd was I had to leave my driver license' to get the key to the bathroom. Not at all sure what that is about.

Now these folks were super friendly and informative about ube ice cream. It's just a small stand right outside of a parking lot with Longs Drug store. They have vanilla or ube ice cream to add to your shaved ice. I got the pineapple colada, lychee and blue Hawaiian mix. It was super delicious. The portion is huge as you can see so you can share if you'd like. I loved learning about the ube ice cream and will be looking for this on the mainland. It's very delicious and this was my first time having it.

Outstanding shaved ice. Beats everyone else's with natural flavors and fine shaved ice compared to the artificial flavors and grainier ice we've been served at several different locations in Kona. Lucy has been there 20+ years and has this down pat. Highly recommend you try her out to see what I'm talking about.

We were in the area and were excited to stumble upon Hawaiian Ice Cones. It was 1:35 and when we arrived at the the door a sign was posted "will be back at 2pm" So we mulled around for 25 minutes to kill time, arriving back to the store at 2:05 only to see the sign changed to "will be back at 2:30" Screw that and screw Hawaiian Ice Cones.

Absolute Shit. Kailua Kona on Palani Rd.. Shaved ice was EXTREMELY tasteless. They water down their syrup till it has no flavor. I got my refund immediately and suggested they taste what they are serving. Also I mentioned how shameful and dishonest they are to have locals and tourist pay for that crap. Do not support them as they truly are taking your money without any shame.

This place needs some justice. Y'all sleeping on this little shave ice kiosk. I used to come here every weekend with my mom for halo-halos. I left for college and came back 5 years later and it's still the same aunty working here. The same bomb halo-halo with boba. They ain't stingy on the ube ice cream either! The ratio of ice to topping is on point, no argument. I see a lot of reviews talking about the wait, but trust me 5 years ago it took way longer lol. We on island time. I think it's worth the wait, only so many people and machines can fit in the shop comfortably. Overall worth it and get the halo halo if you're a real one!

I loved the halo halo here. It had boba which I wasn't used to but thought it was an amazing addition. If I was every in the area again, I would definitely return!

It's just ok...... not the best Shaved Ice on the Island... tastes more like snow cone vs shaved ice.. and is super expensive. I will say the taste is good they are generous with the syrup so I met them in the middle of the star rating

Pale, chunky lifeless ice on top.
    Jason G.

Super disappointing as my Big Island guidebook highly recommended this place. I've had great shave ice and this was not it. Ice was chunky like a basic snow cone and the flavors, with which they were not generous, were pretty bland. I tried the Strawberry Colada, Honeydew and Melona flavors. They all pretty much ran to the bottom, leaving clear ice at the top. Service was friendly-ish but slow as molasses. The one bright spot was the ube ice cream on the bottom, which was creamy and packed with flavor. If you're wanting good shave ice, try Scandinavian or Ululani's instead.

This was the FIRST halo halo this trip. Today's was 3-4 inches smaller

Kids loved the rainbow shaved ice. Simple yet effective for the kiddos to eat. Toppings can be kinda pricey however.

We were only $20 short of reaching the $300 spending requirement for the free gifts, which should speak to how frequently we visited and how much money we spent at this store. Despite being repeat customers, every visit was met with the same poor customer service. All of the cashiers who helped us were rude, curt, and could not even acknowledge the smallest greetings. The customer service was so unpleasant that it was not worth the experience. The food is not amazing, the prices are not great, and the only thing this place has is convenience--nothing more to offer. In one instance, I got a burger and a black milk tea with boba. I specifically told the cashier that I wanted boba, but she did not ring it up. When I inquired about the missing boba, a young employee addressed the matter with the cashier. They talked, and I said that if it cost more, I could pay for it. She rang up the boba with zero acknowledgment of her mistake. Nothing came out of her mouth. Complete silence. In another instance, I asked a cashier what the gifts were if we reached $300 in purchases. She did not say a word. She simply reached for a card with images of the gifts and placed it on the opposite side of where I was standing. She said nothing. I asked if those were the gifts, and she said yes. She then pulled out her phone while I looked at the card, and I simply said, "Okay, thank you." These are just a few examples of the many disturbing encounters we had with all of the cashiers. While on vacation in a tourist area, this is not the type of conduct or customer service one expects to experience. It was disturbing, and we dreaded going there despite the convenience.
