Barely a four star, if I'm being honest. Ran out of water, someone else shared. Another ran out of water. I know it was busy, so I get it on some level. The CHIPS and house made salsa that comes with the breakfast burrito are so tasty!!!! I think the chips are my very favorite ever! I typically do not like thick chips, which these are, but their thick chips are very unique and crazy delicious!! The burrito is also REALLY good (but my cheese wasn't melted). Unfortunately, one burrito didn't have the chorizo that was added as an extra option, and we were charged for it. Our teen was not a big fan of the chicken strips. He said that they were dry. My hubby tasted one and he agreed. I took a bite and I thought they were "okay", but they certainly can do better!!! The burger was a "3 out of 5" according to my hubby, but we are quite spoiled when it comes to burgers. We have a couple spots where the burgers are beyond, I mean BEYOND, what is typically delivered. One location that we visit often is in Show Low for the BOMB burger!! This one did not measure up on that level, but basically as expected. We meet my ex-mother-in-law in this area. Came here for lunch with a friend and I was so excited. I got the corn bread, The burger sliders for appetizer for happy hour and the ribs to eat. Ribs were okay, nothing fancy or special. Cornbread honestly a disappointment and their honey butter idk what that was. Sliders was good. My friend got the fried zucchini not great but that was more preference she wanted to just eat the breading. Hey!!!! Have you been to Haymaker yet? The fried zucchini was on point. Hot, fresh and tasty. I got the AZ burger, hubs got the french dip, and for dessert we ordered mama's bread pudding. Burger was good. Fries came out cold. Hubs french dip meat, looked dry, but I guess that's why they have au jus? His fries were cold too. We both ate all our fries, despite them not being hot. Bread pudding was dry and hot. But it was microwave hot... Our server was great. The place was oddly quite at 5:30pm. I was thinking because they are more of a breakfast place? I don't know. We heard the people behind us say it was so quiet too, and they had never seen it this quiet before. We have lived here over a year and this was our first time eating here We loved the ambience and that they are open for full seating! They told us it would be about 20 minutes to be seated but, we were asked if we wanted to sit on the patio. The hostess (probably the manager) addressed me by name over and over which I appreciated. My husband ordered the American egg breakfast dish and I ordered I believe it was called the California or western Eggs Benedict. The eggs were cooked perfectly. Not a lot of places pull off a perfect eggs benedict and these were great... they were also made with turkey and avocado. I was able to add cottage cheese so it kept me on my diet. This place is awesome! The food is delicious and cheap for a sit down place! The bill was around $30 for two meals and two drinks. Both the burrito and french toast were amazing and I'd highly recommend. However, next time I'll be trying something new because there are so many items on the menu that look delicious. This was my first time visiting with my daughter, son in law, and grandbaby. We ordered the Sampler appetizer that has cheese curds, fried pickle spears, onion rings, HUGE fried zucchini and boneless wings. They were all hand battered, NOT pre made or frozen, and they were fresh!! I had the patty melt and it was juicy, gooey with cheese, and sweet grilled onions on sourdough bread. The mac and cheese did not come from a box. Everything is fresh, great portions and good prices. Our server Gabriella F. was attentive and prompt, always smiling and as sweet as can be!! As a former server, it heartened me to see that true customer service is alive and well at the Haymaker. Disappointing... I used to love it here. The menu changed and I've tried 3 times since and I just no longer enjoy it. This used to be my favorite place. My drink was ehhh... I don't know if they also made cuts from the drink menu but I saw nothing that interested me much in cocktails. Ordered a Cosmo. I attempted to order a grilled chicken salad, I wanted to substitute BBQ chicken since grilled always seems dry. I was told they simply toss it in BBQ sauce, so I ordered a half BBQ chicken with my salad (thinking that would be great). I also ordered a side of sweet potato fries, with the honey mustard to be served as an appetizer! These fries can save any meal for me! She came back and explained that there was no chicken for the 1/2 chicken. (The kitchen only had the frozen chicken breasts) I waited forever and finally food was served salad and finally fries (forgot my side so she went back to get that)... and she came back and I told her the fries were cold. She offered to get a fresh batch, but considering those were ordered as an appetizer and they came cold with the meal, I declined. She seemed to not noticed the salad was sitting unenjoyed. I sat while my husband ate (he said his meat in his sandwich was rubbery). We continued to sit, and wait... so we could get a bill. When she finally came she said it would take a bit of time to remove the fries from the Bill (nothing was said about the salad, mostly untouched) and we kept waiting.. so I picked up the phone and decided to spend the time leaving a review! Ordered medium eggs, and was served over easy. The yolk was runny. I told the server this, and he tried to convince me that those were indeed medium eggs. He was wrong. Medium eggs do not have runny yolk. Medium eggs have yolk that looks like jelly. I was shocked at his response, and just accepted the food I was given, because I didn't want to argue and then have him spit in my food. The avocado toast was overly salted, and basically just an avocado smashed up onto a toast with salt thrown on top. Not pretty or tasty at all. The ice water was great. We always sit at the bar and the ladies back there are so sweet and attentive. I love their lunch special way they make my drink. The food is very good too. Had a great weeknight dinner tonight at Haymaker Goodyear. Service is always friendly and efficient, and they are great at helping with menu suggestions if you're on the fence about an item. It was moderately busy, but we were seated right away and waited on promptly. Jenna was our server, and she was awesome. I always appreciate it when the server checks back once or twice during the course of the meal, which she did. I was dining with my husband, and we both ordered the same thing, the meatloaf entree, which came with a side of mashed potatoes and broccoli. The food came out fairly quickly, served nice and hot. We were both pretty happy with the taste. One interesting twist, they take the slices of meatloaf and put them on a grill, just long enough to add some char marks and a bit of a crust. Different in a good way. The meatloaf was moist due to plentiful bits of carrot and onion, always a plus. Texture and moisture level is important when eating meatloaf, nothing worse than having it be dry and dense (which this definitely was NOT). The potatoes were tasty, flavored with some type of herbs. Broccoli side, I wasn't excited about that, but it was actually cooked perfectly, and I appreciate only being served the crown (bud) portion, and not the tough stems. We asked for a side of gravy and were hoping for brown, but they only had country-style. Small up charge for that, which they informed us about... no worries. Very good gravy! All in all, we left satisfied, as we usually do at this location. Came here quickly to entertain and feed my 1 year old while my grandpa had a doctors appointment today for lunch. Just ordered some coffee for me and a scrambled eggs, bacon and fruit kids plate for my son. They got us a booth right away and the server checked in. Everything was stocked and clean at the table, but the server did forget to bring us his plastic ware after she removed all normal silver from the table once his food arrived. Biggest meh for me was the plate my 1 year olds food came on was SCORCHING hot. She did warn me as she handed it to me, but I wish they would've just replated the kids meal. Until I walked in, I had no idea that tis restaurant was also a Sports Bar. And, I gotta admit, it was a bit disconcerting to be seated next to the full-service bar, watching Sports (and a movie) at 7:30 in the morning. After walking in, I had a very short wait, before one of the waitresses showed me to a booth (strange thing though, they have booths for 2, but she seated me at one for 4; at least they weren't super crowed). I had planned on Eggs Benedict, but when I saw the Huevos Benedictos, I just had to try it. So, I ordered that with Hash Browns, and a small milk. The Huevos Benedicto (only had 1 ;-) ) was excellent. And, even though the muffin was a tad soggy, it was still very good. Unfortunately, the hash browns were barely room temperature, so I sent them back. And, a few minutes later, another order of was brought out. These were piping hot, just the way I like 'em. Unfortunately, they were not seasoned very well, and tasted a little blah. And, that was after I added salt and pepper. The staff was great! The waitress who seated me, the one who took my order, and the one who brought me my meal, and did the follow up, were all great. Friendly, but courteous and professional. So, over all, 3 Stars for Food. And, 5 Stars for service. I will probably go back again. But, to be honest, I seldom eat breakfast out. So, it probably won't be again, until next year. read more

I wish I could give 1/2 stars because it really was 3.5 to be fair. Friendly staff and rustic ambiance throughout. The happy hour on weekdays from 2 -6 is great (for the most part) great prices on drinks. The food is all over the place, we started with several orders of the sliders.....and when I say they were nothing to write home about they were NOTHING to write home about. Visually they seemed to be squished together almost creating a small hot dog shape, onions were tasteless and burgers could have easily been made at home but hey $5.50 so I get it! Now for my FAVORITE part....one of my favorite junk food ever is fried zucchini so I set the bar high......their fried zucchini is DELICIOUS! Huge pieces of zucchini lightly fried so you can still taste the zucchini, mixed with their ranch dressing superb! I would come back just for that. Pretty small menu for food on happy hour but good prices most of the table made due, my partner ordered a turkey, avocado and bacon sandwich off the regular menu and it was good it's double the price of the happy hour sliders but besides the zucchini and cocktails I'll hit up the regular menu next time! read more

Looking for a pretty solid brunch spot? This place is it- friendly service, plenty of booths and a great menu. I got the cheddar and chorizo omelette that came with a biscuit and home fries. My husband got the chicken and waffles. We both liked our food- honestly it was pretty standard as far as breakfast spots go. The flavors didn't blow me away, but for me all I really want is eggs and some potatoes in the morning. I am not terribly picky about what is added. Don't order the biscuit, it was very dry and crumbly. Unless you are going to saturate it with gravy, In which case please disregard what I said, and order away. My husband always gets me Eggs Benedict for Mother's Day and the "left coast" looked really good here! When he brought it home there was no hollandaise sauce, no avocado, and the eggs were way over cooked. From the time we arrived and we're sat down, we were made to feel welcome. The place is very inviting and has a very warm and friendly atmosphere. I ordered the eggs Benedict and Jamie had a Belgian waffle. We also split the biscuit and gravy as a side. All of the food tasted fantastic. It had great flavor and I would absolutely come here again. The Server was awesome as well. I ordered my eggs Benedict not runny and when they came out runny, he said absolutely we can fix it no problem. I was told her Prickley Pear Mimosa was pretty good too. I ordered a side Cesar salad with a side of salmon....i told our server, Jasmine, that I did not want my salmon overcooked....when the food finally came out my salad was warm and wilted, like it had sat under the light to long and my salmon was hard as a rock....i asked Jasmine to olease take it back and have them redo the salmon....when she brought it back out it was still overcooked and hard...i ended up not eating it, i took it home for the cat. my granddaughters brisket was dry as well.... one last thing we had to wait a long time for our check as well... Haymaker was a refreshing western dining experience! On a Friday night, having no wait time was unbelievable. I definitely didn't think it would've been as good as it was. The atmosphere was a western bar style vibe. The cocktails were great and the service was surprisingly fast and friendly. The menu has a lot of barbecue items however I was pleased to find out they serve breakfast all day! We opted for breakfast- the stuffed French toast and chicken and waffles. I didn't even get to take a photo of our plates because we devoured everything so quickly! Happy Hour lasts until 6 pm also! Overall Haymaker was such a good find.
