The beef bone was satisfying. Loaded fries was layered with pull pork, jalapeños and melted cheese which was good. I had the meat plate with burnt ends with the cheesy mashed potatoes. The burnt ends were disappointing. It was saturated in bbq sauce and was tough and dry. Burnt ends should be caramelized, savory, slightly chewy but still tender. read more

Came here after seeing our cousin in her high school musical and had forgotten that we visited this place once before. Memorializing this trip so we don't make the same mistake lol. The brisket was dry, really dry. Other happy hour foods were decedent for the value. Pulled pork was solid. HH nachos were good. Garlic fries were a little soggy and not fresh. Chicken wings had no flavor to them at all; wow how did they manage that. However the vibe is nice, lots of outdoor patio space and games playing, and the service was sweet. I love barbecued ribs. I have eaten them and barbecued them for over 60 years. The meat on barbecued ribs should stick to the bone and not fall off of it. Hazy barbecue overcooked my barbecued ribs. The meat fell off the bone. Their sauces were good. The service at hazy barbecue was excellent. I received my ribs shortly after ordering them. Maybe that was part of the problem because the ribs might've been sitting around and warmed and that's why they were overcooked. I don't know. Ended up sitting next to Ryan, the manager, at the bar and he was incredibly nice and insightful about the business. We talked about the prep and the smoking process and the entire business. Hazy Barbecue served me possibly the worst tri tip I've ever eaten. The service was okay, she was new - no problem. But the food took a very long time - the brussels sprouts were probably the highlight, with the honey's fried chicken being very mid, but the tri tip was downright awful. When I first got the plate I wasn't sure what I was looking at. It was very fatty and where it wasn't fatty it was hard. Hazy Bbq was a huge let down this year for Thanksgiving. Like previous years, we ordered ahead our Thanksgiving meat from them. The item listed on their online menu was "Jumbo turkey leg". I called to ask how big that would be and was told each was about 4lb. So we ordered accordingly. At pickup on Thansgiving day we found it was just drumstick (not leg) that was barely 1lb, for which we had paid $15 each! My husband called them to ask why we were given a drumstick when we had ordered a leg. He was told their vendor only sent them drumsticks this year. They were apologetic, but didn't offer anything to fix this mix up. The worst part was the thigh was overcooked and stringy, and barely edible, so we couldn't even eat it. Good brisket is just SO hard to find, but I finally found a place that has it! They let you pick between three different leanness / fatness and I'm all about the tender fatty brisket so I went for the fatty cut and it was the best brisket I've had outside of Texas. Pro tip, the tenderness kind of goes away after it cools down so eat it fast while it's warm! Also it goes great with their "spicy" BBQ sauce that is pretty mild but has a little kick to it. I also got 1/2 pint sides of brisket beans and creamy slaw but those were just ok. The beans were actually very bland and I had to eat it with BBQ sauce. Their guava sour beer was tasty. I got recommended this place by a reddit thread about people who moved from Texas to the bay area and immediately started looking for any mention of brisket! Chicken, brisket and ribs - one beans, one mashed potatoes The brisket was very dry, and all of the meat felt as though it was from the day before. I can't believe that I had neglected to write a review as we have eaten at Hazy BBQ for years. Recently, my girlfriends took me out to lunch at Hazy Barbeque. Because the weather was absolutely gorgeous outside, we ate on the patio. I ordered the Diablo Burger because I wanted a burger and brisket at the same time, and I can't say "no" to jalapenos! My friends ordered healthy meals with salads. When I order a salad here, my kids and I love the Middle Earth salad without feta because we never eat feta, and when we commit to salad, then we want it SUPER healthy with the dressing on the side, and the Middle Earth salad sans meat is kind of a perfect salad. We were considering Hazy as our wedding caterer and stopped in to try a few things. Oh my goodness was it good! The tri-tip was my favorite and the mustard sauce was a stand out! I'm not a sauce person but I really enjoyed that one! They also had this sweet potato mash thing that I still dream about. We almost went with them just for that! The service was awesome. I'm gonna say i really want to love this place. i kinda do. I'm a Primos guy, there everyday after school with my kids to eat and watch whatever sorts game is on. Primo's food is always done right, but they don't have burgers. Been hanging there for years, but one night when an NBA Golden State Warriors game was on, think they were playing OKC. Big game, and the other group in the other room watching some blowout baseball game like 8-1 had control of the TV's becuase it was playoffs was the straw that broke the camels back. Dozens of people with warriors jerseys had to watch the game on the little tv's above. 4 big tv's and not one of the local warriors game. Me and my boys paid the bill, got up and went to HAZY next door. I've been to hazy plenty of times but this time for personal reasons. Hardly anyone inside and the Manager put on the game with sound for, not only me but another warriors fan. awesome! Since that day I've been coming to hazy with my boys after school for their hazy double cheeseburger and fries and local beers. I like Hazy because its new and clean. Here's the rub; the food is 100% inconsistent. i swear on my moms grave every time i order cheeseburgers they come out exactly how the cook feels like cooking them i.e.; with ketchup and mustard, without. sometimes with onions.. My kids are specific. One has double Hazy ketchup and mustard only and the the other no mustard. 100% their both wrong every time. they add or take off topping as needed. The cooks doing what they want as per staff. Here's the reason i wrote this. My son loves pickles on his burger and he had one with a plastic scan tag on it. Literally did not remove the tag, cut out and pickled it. (of which i just found out they pickle and sell their own onions, jalapenos and pickles) i digress. The kitchen is a mess and needs to be fixed. At some point another place will pop up and have good atmosphere and food and well be gone. I made a joke to my middle son after discussing and laughing about how every day the order is messed up and in this instance a barcode on the pickle. I said tomorrow were coming in at 2:30pm as usual and I'm gonna ask for 2 double hazy burger whatever the hell the cooks want to make and a beer and my son couldn't stop laughing. even he knows how ridiculous the cooks are. either they can read or just don't care. not sure which Said my peace. This place can't get ANY better. They have awesome music on Fridays on the patio, they have an amazing selection of salads and bowls - so you can eat clean if you're watching your calories. This restaurant experience FAR surpassed any expectations I had for this place. The ambience was warm and inviting (especially thanks to the hospitality of Ryan) who made us feel right at home. The food was incredible and there were even some surprising offerings available. We tasted the full menu and were n incredibly impressed with both the meat and the sides. Even the things that I would normally shy away from At bbq restaurants were home runs here. My husband is a big fan of bbq so we decided to try Hazy Barbeque for his bday dinner. They have their own parking which makes it convenient and there is also a public lot nearby within walking distance. They have an exterior patio which is great for groups. In fact, when we arrived it appeared a private event was being hosted. You order at the counter. They have a wide selection of meats. We opted for the BBQ & Side Pack. For additional $, you can upgrade your proteins and sides so we got the Ribs (instead of Chicken) and mac and cheese in addition to potato salad. They also have an extensive beer list. The pulled pork and ribs were both tender and juicy. We both enjoyed that. They have 3 different sauces that are self serve and it was fun to choose. We both liked the mac and cheese. Potato salad on the other hand, we probably won't order again as we prefer more of a mayo based version. Little disappointed with the garlic bread. Garlic bread is included with the meal but the bread was too chewy. Pickles/pickled red onions are also included and these however were outstanding. I normally pass on condiments but these were crunchy, fresh, and turned out to be a delightful accompaniment. They have a lot of seating and televise sporting events so it can be a fun place to hang out but it was bit hard to have a conversation. The booth that we first picked, the seat had some leftover food/grease stain. As I mentioned, there was a private event and noticed few of the tables were reserved so it was a bit of challenge to find a clean spot. Service could be better and staff a little more welcoming but again, there was a separate event going on so perhaps that might have had an impact. Since it was only the two of us, we weren't able to try their other proteins. The food was overall tasty so I think we will be back to try their Tri Tip and Brisket next time. read more

Updating from last time I reviewed, came here recently with a couple of old teachers and my bf. We ended up getting the large bbq sampler in which it didn't disappoint for the most part. Everything was good as per usual, however, bit of a shame the tri tip isn't included in the sampler. Been here before and the tri-tip was amazing! So I think the pulled pork should be substituted with tri-tip. The pulled pork itself was dry. However having tried the ribs and chicken for the first time, it wasn't bad. The ribs were pretty good. Chicken was well, chicken. I'm not huge on chicken breast since it tends to be dry, but this was alright. The brussel sprouts were amazing however and being a person biased against brussel sprouts, this was a surprise. Cheesy mashed potatoes was still just as good as before. Pro-tip: check out their daily specials.. on Monday, they have a tri tip family meal that comes with 1lb tri-tip, full size salad, pint of Mac cheese, garlic bread for $39; it was a huge serving of meat. The sides were pretty average as well. Nothing to complain about at all, friendly service, lots of options but the food was just average. They do have a large beer selection as well as fun frozen adult options. It's fast casual so you order in line, get a buzzer and you pick up when it's ready. There's a huge patio (with fire pit, tv and music) and large indoor seating options. I wouldn't make a special effort to come back because the food was average but it's a nice space so would return if friends wanted to try it out. There are lots of tables outside but it is just as noisy due to the road noise. The service is from the counter. You can watch the food bing prepared as you approach the cashiers. The menu Is simple, ribs, chicken sausage and brisket. We all had ribs. The meat fell off the bones. It has a peppery dry rub and you can help yourself to their three sauces: sweet bbq, spicy bbq and mustard bbq. All we had left on our plates were bones. We had the creamy coleslaw and sweet and tangy brussel sprouts. The sprouts were tender but flavorless. It seemed like they had been sitting around all day. Be aware on the weekends. Hazy really caters to events and large groups. Coming here on the weekend has become difficult. The last three times we have come here on a Saturday, they have had the patio closed (90%) as well as half the restaurant (on one occasion) for a private event (2PM on Saturday). Absolutely nothing listed on their website informing people that the patio was almost entirely closed. Probably won't be coming back much as a result. The main thing we like about Hazy is the size of their patio. Somewhat pointless when it's often closed when we visit. read more
