The room that I got my mani/pedi was very clean (it helps that this location has only been open a month), and the nail technicians were very nice. I was even offered a cup of hot tea! The only caution is - be ready to prepay for your nail service. While it makes sense, I haven't been to a nail salon that makes you pay for your services upfront. I had a great experience here. I've been to another Heavenly Massage and it wasn't so great, but this location was fantastic. I called on Monday morning for a Tuesday appointment and it was no issue at all. I had purchased a Groupon for an 80 minute massage. I was hesitant on who I would get because I'd had a not so awesome experience, as stated above, but my massage therapist was amazing. My therapist was Kayla, man was she great! Went for my 90-minute massage today, and was pleasantly surprised (thanks, Groupon!). Made my reservation last night, and they were able to accommodate my requests (time + female therapist). Sheila was very knowledgeable and very good! she made sure that I was comfortable (temperature, pressure, exposure), she asked where my problem areas were (it's my shoulders), and she took time kneading out those stubborn muscle knots. She was very pleasant, too. I've been to a lot of Spas in the city, and I would say that she did better that the higher end ones that I've been to. I just wish that the products they use are nicer.. Went here with my boyfriend who surprised me with a couples massage for my b-day. I had an overall good experience. My massage therapist (I can't recall her name) seemed new but took her time and really focused on my problem areas. My favorite part of the visit was the steam shower though. I felt rejuvenated and stress free afterwards. They lose a star because: - We weren't offered water or tea as we waited in the lobby area. The receptionist offered refreshments to other clients but not us :( - There is no relaxation room available. We were sent straight into the massage room to quickly undress. I felt a bit rushed. 5 stars because Heavenly Massage can usually fit you in with a one day notice, and today they fit me in with a mere 15 minute notice. I nearly walked past the front door since the sign is rather small on the outside. Once inside and climbing a flight of stairs(there is an elevator if needed) I knew right away they were a serious shop. I was greeted by a friendly army of staff asking to take my coat, make me tea, and checking to see if I found the location alright. Good hour long Swedish Massage followed by a very nice steam bath. Normally i come to Yelp or another site for revies but I ended up choosing this spot b/c of an ad they had in a local city guide. So glad I did! The space is wonderful. New, large rooms, quiet. Located downtown, i walked from my hotel. No waiting, they get right to work. Very profesional and friendly staff and the prices could not be beat, literally. Some other spas I checked out wanted $95 for a massage and that seemed to be the norm. Heavenly massage had a special happening...$49, 1 hour message. I ended up getting an eyebrow wax and bikini wax too...everything for $90! It was great!!! If you go for waxing ask for Iwona (pronounced Yvonna). She is all about geeting the hair off of you, lol! My boyfriend got me some sort of package deal with a Massage, Mani-Pedi, and a Facial. I also got my hair colored once here. My first impression was that the front desk staff could be friendlier. Mani-Pedi: above average -Clean tools and facility -Massage chair -Lots of color options Massage: LOVED IT (although it was my 1st so I can't compare it with anything) -Relaxing music -Comfortable bed -HEATED blankets underneath my body, which was amazing. Since this place is walking distance from where I live, I decided to give it a try and Lynn, my massage therapist did not disappoint. She asked me which part of my body would I like to be focused on, and which part I did not wanted to be massaged. Real professional. I enjoyed my steam shower after the massage. The only disappointment is the generic/bad shampoo and conditioner. For the price of $50 for 50 min, you really can't complain about the bad products I guess. Carrying some light bags back from Jewel after my massage told me that the massage did not do the trick. Urban Oasis is just one block away so I'll be going back there. I was so impressed by the massage and service I received at Heavenly Massage, I felt compelled to write this review. In short, the massage I received from my massage therapist was by far one of the very best I have encountered in my life. The things that set her massage apart were ,(1) she took her time, she went over what seemed like "every inch" of my body with the same attention and care as the previous body part she was working, working out all knots and kinks every step of the way, and not moving on to the next until she was satisfied that the previous body part was sufficiently relaxed, (2) generous use of massage oil, she did not skimp on the massage oil which made for a more soothing and comfortable experience, (3) relaxing and not overly invasive, she checked a couple of times during the massage to ensure the pressure she was using was to my liking, which I appreciated and showed me her great attention to detail. The setting was typically relaxing as these places tend to be, complete with beautiful receptionists with great eastern European accents. My only complaint, if I had to have one, parking around their salon can be a little difficult. This place is top notch, comes hightly recommended by me, and I will definitely be going back. read more

I have been here a few times not consistanlty, but I can say its a pretty nice day spa. I was able to get an appointment on a weekend day with no problem only two days before. The day spa located in a nice area where you can grab a bite to eat, get a drink, get money, etc within walking distance. There is limited street parking, but there are several lots where you can get a deal. When you enter you can take the stairs or elevaor. Its a bit confusing with no sign on where to go, but you can easlity figure it out. Its pretty clean and the receptionist is friendly. They have some great deals on massages ad/or mani/pedis if you are on groupon or the email list serv you get the good deals. Soon after being seated within 5 minutes and after completing paperwork you are called back for your service. Each massuse is different. I have been there sporatically and they all have a different style I have enjoyed them all. They all listen and I feel relaxaed and good afterwards. They are good with providing the correct time for service. I must say that occassionally you can hear communicaiton in the background while getting your service so the rooms and hallways are not sound proof. Let's start with the positives. Good location. Fairly nice aesthetics upon entering. Comfortable and large waiting area with a decent amount of seating. Free coffee, tea, water at the front. Seems like they also offer a lot of promotions. I paid $60.00 for an 80 minute massage w aromatherapy. Appears to offer a lot of services so I could imagine someone coming in and getting a nice little pamper day here. Close to public transportation. Walking up to the place, there was a cute little farmer's market up the street so if you time it right, you could visit that after your service here. Efficient check in process. There aren't a million forms to fill out. Didn't have to wait long for upon arrival to be taken back to my room. Decent rooms, comfortable, fairly decent noise control. Large bathrooms. Now onto the review. Unfortunately, it was not a good experience at all. To be fair, the place looks like it gets a lot of positive reviews as well so I am assuming my poor experience was due to the specific masseuse. The masseuse was... interesting. I would not describe her as overly professional. She perhaps leaned a little more towards the overtly casual, somewhat inappropriate side. She did a lot of talking and told a lot of stories, including casually swearing in her stories - lots of f bombs! - talking about how she wanted to punch people in the face, how she could really hurt people, how she got fired from another job, how she was going to use her old massage oil from home that she didn't like to use it on people here. It was all very odd. But this was during the first 30 minutes or so when she was working on my legs and it was such a random, weird experience, that a part of me was also curious to see how inappropriate it would get. Plus, I was already completely naked in the middle of a massage and you know how that goes... The massage itself was... interesting. Honestly, it felt like she was trained once, long ago, and probably not really well, and hasn't really been checked on since. She didn't have the finesse that you expect from a masseuse. If I were to estimate, I'd say she spent 2/3s of the massage on my legs and feet and 1/3 on the rest (back, arms, head, shoulders). Most of the massage was her slathering mineral oil on my legs over and over, then digging her elbows and knuckles into my back and shoulders. At one point, I actually yelled out from pain - something I have never done in a massage - from her digging her elbows into my shoulder. It seemed like she was applying more and more pressure as she went. I told her to use less pressure, and at best, she managed to tone it down a hair and keep it at that pressure. Since it was a deep tissue massage, I figured pressure could be hard to manage on her end. I've gotten A LOT of massages in my life and there was definitely an awkwardness about her moves. She was really rough with how she was handling me and also with manipulating the covers. I was definitely overexposed a few times and she didn't seem to get it. Some of the strokes, she would stop right before the targeted muscles. She didn't use her hands on my back - it was all elbow, knuckles or fist. At one point while I was facing up, she was trying to slide her hands under my shoulders, she shuffled her way down under my back with her fists. At another point, she seemed to be struggling with getting around the table, so she started moving the table around, pushing it here and there in the middle of the massage, with me on it. She spent way too much time on my legs and feet. She actually started spraying my feet with something and probably spent a good 5 minutes wiping my feet with a cold towel. When I asked her about the spray, she told me it was alcohol. She said most people like it. The scalp massage was decent. All-in-all, it was not good. It's a shame because I was really excited when i walked in. Seems like it has potential, but unfortunately, I just had a bad masseuse. I can't really recommend it. read more

My husband and I just returned from massages at Heavenly Massage. This review has nothing to do with the massages themselves - those were very good - but rather the deceitful business practices of this establishment. I called this morning to book two hour-long massages for my husband and me. We added 15 minutes of reflexology, for a total of a 75 minute massage. When we arrived, we were charged right away - $95 each. After each of us were taken (10-15 minutes late), we enjoyed our massages and came back out to the lobby. It was then that we saw ads flashing on their digital signs promoting a "Black Friday" deal that's good for all of November... an 80 minute massage for $60. When we saw this, we were confused why nobody had told us of this discount. We certainly would have opted for this option, given that it was 5 minutes longer and $35 cheaper. We asked if the Black Friday deal was good for all of November. The receptionist said yes. We then asked if we can get that deal for the massages we just received. At first, we were told that it was only good for e-mail subscribers. False. Nowhere on the signs did it say that. When we continued questioning, we were told that reflexology is a "different technique". We have gotten enough deep tissue massages to know that we could have simply asked the masseuse to focus on the hands and feet during our 80 minute service. The receptionist told us she would speak to the manager, who at one point walked past us during the conversation but rather than addressing us, hid in the back room to put the poor receptionist in an uncomfortable spot. Ultimately, we were told we could get $10 refunds back, which is equal to their first time client special. (Reminder: we were NEVER told that there was a first time client special and we each paid $35 more than we should have). After I told her that I was planning to write a review, the receptionist said she could give us a total of $20 each but that's all she could do. Exhausted, we left, short changed $15 each. The massages were good, but if that's how they're going to run their business, there are enough other massage parlors in the city to take our business elsewhere. read more

This was my first ever massage experience. My friend bought me their 50% off coupon as a gift and we went in the afternoon on a Monday. The staff was very nice and the facilities are clean as can be. Simply gorgeous! As for my massage, we both got a Swedish. For a 90-minute massage it was very relaxing. The masseuse is very consistent and spent a lot of time on my most painful areas, though this wasn't pleasant after a couple turns it ended up losing my muscles after 2 years of ill-comfort and helping my posture. She was very quiet throughout my session but always asked about her pressure and ensured my first time was great. Overall, I was pleased! Afterwards they offer you a glass of water, a shower and hot water towels. Heaven!! I would LOVE to return, but the regular price is still a little pricey. Today, I got my first prenatal massage at Heavenly massage. Tanya who has prenatal certification did my session for an hour. She was calm and made sure my position is comfortable and safe. She used three different pillow to support my legs and arm. Whole session was as side position for my belly/back support. She was thorough from head to toe. I was relaxed and comfortable. I recommend this place for prenatal care. The reason I am not giving 4 star is that I've experienced better before. They only had one mani/pedicurist when we got there...but that was okay - my daughter and I just soaked a bit longer. We were on a mini getaway, so we didn't mind the wait. I had Therese, a Malaysian gal, who was nice. We had a good chat about Asia, China Town, etc. It was a really great experience! As luck would have it, there's a great tea shop across the street too. This was my first time with Heavenly. I received a gift a spa day which included massage , facial, and mani/pedi. Massage was great with Kasia. I'd go back to have another massage with her. Facial was by Tatjana and it was ok. She was a bit rough at rhe end , not sure if it was purpiseful technique or what. This wasn't my best facial. Needles to say would not go back for one here. Mani and pedi was also by Tatjana and it was also just ok. She was meticulous to remove dead skin from the feet but nail polish painting was very sloppy. As far as mani went, it also it seemed that she was really working on the cuticles but the next day it didn't look neat at all. Nail polish was applied very slopoy as well. Few nails have nail polish running on the cuticles. Needless to say would not have another mani pedi with her. Overall a good experience and most likely will come back for massage with Kasia and mani/pedi with someone else. read more

I have a groupon deal, I am not going to be judgemental, Heavenly massage is clean, to the point, no frill type of place. I have had a few massages there in the past and each time I had a different therapist (probably high turn over rate?) Their quality is not going to be consistent because of that, but a deal is a deal, you cannot compare this to other better places. I'm really particular about my manicures & pedicures (borderline OCD, lol!), and I was so pleased! The nail tech was incredibly attentive to detail: the polish was perfect and my feet/legs & hands/arms felt so silky afterward. Next was the massage and the space was dim, calming, quiet & clean. My masseuse was super sweet and continuously checked my comfort level without breaking my relaxation. Hands down the best no-chip manicure I have ever had! If you know anything about me, i don't enjoy spa treatments. They are a chore for me not anything to relax about. I dread manicures, facials, waxing, hairdressing and make up applications. I get them done because i have to, not because I want to. So I tend to procrastinate getting them done. I always go to see Kasia, and she does such a great job. I like going in just for swedish massages, medium pressure and it's always perfect every time with Kasia.
