Pretty much everything about Hello Robin screams Capitol Hill - in a good way. It's clean, bright, hip, and has an interesting take on dessert. They are able to take a good product - Molly Moon's Ice Cream - and combine it with another good product - their store-made fresh-out-of-the-oven cookies - to make a great product. I tried an ice cream sandwich with a Mackles'more cookie and a Habanero Orange Chocolate Chip cookie with Scout Mint ice cream in the middle. The Habanero cookie came right out of the oven, and it was definitely nice and gooey in the middle, the way a cookie ought to be. It had a little kick to it, but it wasn't too spicy, and I actually appreciated the contrast of spiciness to the sweetness of the rest of the dessert. The Mackles'more was a graham cracker with a chocolate chip cookie over top of it - cool concept, and it worked for me. The ice cream was good, as to be expected from Molly Moon's. And so as previously mentioned, the combination of all these good things was great. A few downsides of the place included the limited seating, due to the small amoung of space in the store, and a somewhat higher price point (in my opinion) of the ice cream sandwiches - I ended up paying $5.33 for two cookies and scoop of ice cream. But it's in Cap Hill, where most things are on the pricey side, so it's not too bad of a deal. They had about 8 different kinds available so let me get one of those, one of those, one of those and two of these. Great cookie flavors like the mint choco chip, snickerdoodle and the mackles'more cookie (not a fan of the rapper) but a good play on words. Cute little ice cream and cookie shop! My friend recommended I check this shop out while in Seattle and I'm glad I did! Street parking was easy and right in front of the store. It was also free. For the ice cream I chose the yeti and the salted caramel. The yeti was amazing! Highly recommend. The salted caramel was at first delicious but after a while got to be way too salty and overwhelming. Next time I will stick with a neutral flavor for the ice cream. I could see how this would be amazing if the cookies were hot and fresh! Mine however were not but they were still delicious. I am slightly cringing as I give this place a 3-stars. I cannot say the idea is poor - molly moon's ice cream crushed between two homemade cookies? Best. Idea. Ever. But, execution wise, I cannot say that I am screaming "yes yes yes". Most definitely, the cost for 1 cookie and 1 scoop of ice cream is equivalent to the cost of 2 cookies and 1 scoop of ice cream, so people, do yourself a favor and opt for 2 cookies. I came with a friend of mine, who has consistently raved about the combo of cookies + ice cream, and selected their "Big Bad Bourbon" chocolate chip cookie (if I recall the name correctly), it did not taste like bourbon but instead had a hint of rosemary which I liked, and their S'mores cookies (cause who doesn't love s'mores right?), which I enjoyed especially the fact that the graham cracker was very crispy and perfect with the ice cream. The fault that I find in the dessert is as follows: (1) The cookies should be warmed before being served, as a cold scoop of ice cream between two regular temperature cookies allots for the cookie to harden, making it hard to eat. My friend has said she has notoriously waited to see which cookies were fresh before making her selection, which has made her experience all the better. I wish they did this consistently. (2) The scoop of ice cream is tiny, I found myself wanting more ice cream to eat with my two cookies! Okay so I've tried all the cookie bakeries here in Seattle and this is by far the best ones I've had. These are completely balanced in sweetness. They are equally chewy and crunchy. They are moist. They are flavorful - especially those chocolate options and the s'mores one! I just can't get over how great these are. Like. Just perfect. The mackels'more cookie was amazing, soft delicious s'more cookie on a graham cracker vessel. Perfection. The ice cream sammie...I got the sea salt chocolate chip and Mexican chocolate cookie with scout mint ice cream. It was okay. I asked if the cookies were soft and the Mexican chocolate was more crunchy than anything. Eating the sammie resulted in ice cream spillage from all sides, so the ratio of ice cream to cookie was just eh. Also, I know I shouldn't compare but the cookies at Diddy were softer, bigger and cheaper (their sammies are a $1.75). I thought this place would be over hyped but I actually really liked it. Hello robin is on cap hill and if you're ever lucky enough, parking may be easy to find! In my case it was. I recently came here on one of the blazing hot days in Seattle and the lines were long but they surprisingly went by super fast. Service was nice! Between taking orders and having to deal with hungry customers, the two workers found time to bake some more cookies in a space that was available for all to see which was pretty awesome to me. The decor is really cute and I love the baby blue and white, it goes really well with what they're trying to sell. Anyways for $4.50 +tax you get two delicious cookies of your choice ranging from the classic chocolate chip, to the macklesmore, to the orange snicker doodle, ect. And your choice of molly moon's ice cream! I had the orange snicker doodle and chocolate chip ice cream sandwich with earl grey ice cream. It was a perfect ice cream Sammie to say the least but the issue I had was that I couldn't hold the darn thing to eat due to the ice cream melting, so I just pretty much ate the ice cream first then had the cookies afterwards. The cookies were baked to perfection and the chocolate chip had a lot of chocolate chips which made it very gooey and yummy. Overall I really liked it and the whole concept of their shop. Since they are unable to do gluten free cookie cakes I got 2 dozen of the Flourless Mexcian Chocolate cookies. They were nice enough to write CONGRATS across a few of the cookies for me too.
