The moral of the story: get mackles'more, but only when it's fresh out of the oven. I tried hello Robin when I first moved to Seattle. With the current trend of gigantic cookies, hello Robin's small cookies really stands out. I had the fortune to try mackles'more fresh out of the oven and omg it's crazy good. The gooy Marshmello goes perfect with the melting milk chocolate. The crunchiness of the cracker also contrasts well with the softeness of baked cookie dough. With everything being warm and fresh, the cookie didn't seem overly sweet. I decided at the spot that this place will be my favorite cookie spot. Fast forward to now I just can't forget about the mackles'more and came back when I had a doctor's appointment near by. Let's just say it doesn't live up to the expectations this time. The marshmallow has hardened into a sheet of chewy sugar, and the sweetness hit me so badly I didn't know how I finished the piece. The seasonal strawberry milk chocolate flavor has a nice strawberry kick, but it was really sweet as well. It'll probably be a while before I come back again. On a very cold and remarkably sunny day, my hubs and I tried the Chocolate Chip, Salted Butterscotch, and the Molasses. All of them were delicious and tasted like someone we love had just made them. The Chocolate Chip is classic. The Salted Butterscotch was a little too sweet for us because it was chockfull of butterscotch chips but that's just our personal preference. This is a great place to visit if you are looking for some good desserts. It not only has great cookies, but also serves Molly Moon ice cream (which is some of the best ice cream in Seattle). On this visit, I just had cookies. I was here during Covid times, but they have a nice window that works well. You cannot see the cookies, but you can kind of smell them. I took far longer than necessary deciding on what to get, but the lady at the counter was super nice and helpful in offering up suggestions! I eventually settled on the flourless Mexican chocolate and whole wheat fancy chocolate with sea salt cookies to go with a scoop of melted chocolate ice cream... Seriously, it's been three days since then and I'm still thinking about that Mexican chocolate cookie. So good! This place is definitely one of my favorite dessert places. I love Molly Moon's ice cream which is the ice cram they use, and I LOVE cookies. The cookie sizes here are really small, but they taste reallllly good. The cookies are definitely on the pricier side, but you're paying for quality. Open-faced sammie with mackles'mores cookie & birthday cake ice cream ($5.05 for open faced sammie + $0.50 extra for s'mores cookie): 4/5. The birthday cake ice cream isn't all that great... it's not the birthday cake flavor I'm used to. There's bits of iced cookies that have small sprinkles on them, but the ice cream itself is too sweet and sugary for me. I definitely suggest trying the ice cream flavor out before getting it. I forgot you could Some of the flavors I recommend are the scout mint, earl grey, and the stumptown coffee (has bits of coffee bean in it). I really like Molly Moon's vanilla too, but they didn't have that flavor. The s'mores cookie is a 5/5 though, there's a graham cracker on the bottom, and there's a piece of melted chocolate in the middle of the cookie. The cookie itself is $2.25. Last time I got a ice cream sammie with the mackles'mores cookie + birthday cake cookie + scout mint ice cream ($5.95 + $0.50), and it was a 5/5. SO GOOD!! There's not many seats to sit down and eat, but it's a dessert place so people don't linger too long. One thing that was disappointing was that I brought a friend from LA here for the first time, and her chocolate chip cookie was really doughy in the middle. The main problem we encountered was the ice cream we ordered- the salted caramel from Molly Moons, it really should be called Burnt Caramel. It was almost uneatable in my opinion, the burnt flavor bleeds through the ice cream and was so overpowering that I removed the cookies from the sandwich and left the ice cream behind. 2/5 for the Molly Moon flavor, but the cookies are a solid 4/5. I'm averaging the two for my rating. There are a lot of positive reviews here and I'll definitely make my way back, but ask for a recommendation instead of venturing off on my own. read more
