We usually have our go to sushi spots near home but we were out running errands and decided to stop in for sushi. The waitresses were super nice and attentive, the only reason I gave 2 stars. The sushi itself was left to be desired. The rolls were saturated in eel sauce and lo and behold I found a hair in my scallop sushi. Lost my appetite after that, thankfully they didn't charge us for what was left on our plates but we were still charged regular for the rest. $95 down the drain. We won't be back. read more

Came here with hubby on 10/3 to celebrate our 12year anniversary. We have been coming here for a few years. This is our fave sushi spot...we only go to AYCE spots. Lately they have been using a lot more crab in the rolls...I try to stay away from any rolls that have crab in them, but hubby's faves happen to have crab. My fave is the Aloha I add lemon slices to it. He likes the I shrimp loveand the Jessica ...and we both live the mussels for sure! Update. 3/16/20 Came here ...family of five. 4 on AYCE menu...we had edamame, miso, shashimi salad, chicken teriyaki, gyozas, baked mussels , 3 shrimp lover rolls, 2 tiger rolls, 1 heart attack, 4 aloha rolls and added lemon slices to it, 1 baked salmon, 1 Jessica roll, 1 baked volcano...everything was delish! Just don't! Ordered lunch box with gyoza, teriyaki beef, and spicy tuna roll. Got the Miso soup... dried seaweed was crunch in the soup. Broth itself was just nasty. Rice was not fully cooked. Gyoza was fried and so crunchy it will cut your mouth. Sushi roll was ok. Teryaki was too salty. Don't expect a traditional Japanese atmosphere...Adios instead of sayonara. Really disappointed in the direction this restaurant had gone. I've gone here for years, but have noticed a huge change in the service and quality since covid. But this past visit was so bad. My friend and I went for an early dinner, we were seated and we were beginning to order when a customer started vomiting on the floor near our table. Multiple staff refused to clean it up and it sat there for a while. I heard one server tell a customer asking her for help to address it that she couldn't because she had tables. My friend and I lost our appetites and left. We had to hop over vomit to exit. If they are okay continuing to serve food while there's a hazard there, I can't imagine how they address cleanliness of the areas we customers don't see. I won't return. read more

I FOUND HAIR IN MY SUSHI I ordered takeout and went to go pick it up. When I sat down to eat it, round the hair. And not just one random strand of hair- no, it was definitely 3-4 strands of hair, rolled horizontally into my sushi roll. I only found it in my last piece, but I felt like I swallowed hair before (it feels like when you accidentally swallow dog hair). After I kept getting that feeling, i decided open my last roll and found 3 strands of hair in it. Here are pictures. Hello Sushi, ranks in my TOP 10 Sushi Restaurant across the US. I had the yellowtail Sashimi. It was awesome with plenty of flavor, melts in your mouth, like soft butter. This was our 2nd time ordering take out sashimi and they delivered on the quantity, fresh quality, and flavorful. I rarely eat sushi rolls but I had their dragon roll that had a tempura shrimp imbedded with fresh avocado, and there artificial crab spread that was explosive to the taste buds, perfectly sear eel with a light krispy tempura crumbs over top. That's my description my wife missed order but came back with a delightful substitute for a spicy dragon roll. It was incredible and we will order it going forward. Well that's a great way to end June, to kick off the 4 of July holiday. Sorry pictures but next time for sure. read more

Wow as in wow that wasn't good. Let's start with the smell that hit me walking through the door. Like a bad air freshener trying to cover up a sewer smell. Moving on to the water (yes the water), it tastes like they've got a plumbing problem and need new pipes. And we're not at the food yet. The ginger taste and smell like a men's urinal cake. If you don't know what that is look it up. Ok finally the food and service. It must've been training day for the new girl. Why and sweet but super forgetful. It was something I could look past. Finally arriving with the food I was worried immediately when the nigiri was like warm. Hopefully I don't get sick tonight. I asked for sriracha and out came some type of imitation sriracha. I took one bite and it was terrible. The rest of the meal was ordinary cheap ingredients that didn't taste good. The only thing edible that I halfway enjoyed was the golden tiger roll. But the green mussels, house roll, spider roll and the salmon skin roll (yuck) were all enough to make this place a one and done. I guess they survive on naive people and college student who don't know any better and hardly venture out. I was disappointed spending $40 on a subpar lunch. They need to step it up and freshen up. Use better ingredients, fix your plumbing and get authentic sriracha and you'll be heading on the right track. read more

It's roughly 24.99 for AYCE and also the only available place open for Super Bowl weekend. Unlike other places, this place only gives you two rounds. To be honest, we're usually done by the 2nd round since we order so much in the beginning. So I don't think there's a downside to not having a 3rd round at all. Just order everything you want from the start and you should be fine. The quality of the sushi was really good and I loved that the proportions for each roll seemed doable enough. They have the same serving size of 4-8 rolls per dish like other locations I've been to. The only detail I can really pick on is the miso soup. It does taste a bit bland and could use a lot more flavoring, but that small critique doesn't really impact my star rating of the location at all. If we were ever nearby again, we would probably come back for sure. read more

This restaurant has been our go to for years. Literally YEARS. But the customer service with management is absolutely absurd. The servers are very nice though!! Anyway. I just ordered through Postmates (for the listed menu, which is not available online) and picked my order with tied bags. There was 7 items on my receipt. 2 bags w 3 boxes per bag. I asked the very nice girls if everything was there, of course they said yes. Got home to find a missing item. The most expensive item on my receipt. In my order. Of course. Called to inform staff, who were very nice, they go talk with the manager and come back to tell me that the manager blames ME. I get it, how could you possibly know I'm not a sushi thief, but really dude your first response is the customer is at fault here. Like really. How could I possibly be lying about missing a boxed item, which would have required ANOTHER BAG. But I left with 2 bags. Ridiculous. Simple math here. Do not ever take any pickup/Togo bags from here without ripping the bags open first and going one by one through the boxes. Also. The albacore here is fishy af. Also. Manager. If I could give zero stars I would. At first my husband said our waitress was trying...after time it was obvious to our table she was not. I understand being new! I work in customer service, but watching all of the waitresses they move slow, they lack customer service. Basic items that you bring out like the wasabi and ginger had to be asked for. Napkins had to be asked for, silverware had to be asked for. My husband accidentally spilled his drink and I had to ask for paper towels to clean it up... they left the spillage on the floor the remaining hour we were there, never asked if he wanted a refill, never came by to mop it up from people tripping over it. The miso soup which is generally the first thing to come out came 15 minutes after I was done eating (not that big of a deal but again not what is the norm). The waitress never came to check on us - I had to hunt her down and request all of the items above. I asked for boxes, never came until another waitress saw us just sitting there. I had to ask for the check. I have been coming here for several years as it was my favorite spot in Redlands. I won't be returning with my family or anyone else. Their prices have increased which would be fine if the service was even remotely good. Food is good but that is it. I'm a generous tipper and contemplated only doing a minimum, but that's no longer an option. They only give the option to do 15% or higher. I eat out a lot...this was the worst overall experience I can remember and that saddens me! read more

I attempted to placeultiple orders last night via Postmates. The staff attempted to place an upcharge of $6 on my bill, for which I received a text, and clicked through as instructed. However, someone didn't do something correctly, because the update button did not work. It was gray. In addition to that, while they said they wanted to add $6, the subtotal didn't change. I even CALLED them to them know there was something wrong to see if they could fix it. The person I was dealing with finally, after the first order counted down and canceled, because I couldn't do anything to ok the charge, told me to just place the order again, and they wouldn't worry about the $6, especially since the food was already made. Prior to placing the second order, I offered to alter my order, adding $6 worth of food to bring the total up, so as not to risk the app not cooperating with the requested additional charges, but not actually receiving the "extra food", just the food as originally ordered. I had absolutely NO problem covering the costs involved in the substitutions requested. The woman I had been speaking to assured me it was no big deal, it was only $6, and the food had already been prepared at this point. THEN, less than TEN minutes before they stopped taking orders via Postmates, I received ANOTHER request for an additional $6, with the exact same issue. I attempted to call them again, several times and it went directly to voice-mail. When it FINALLY went through, the person I had been speaking to said her manager decided not to make the exception after all, and that I had to pay the $6, whether there is a problem with the app or not. They had my phone number, yet no one bothered to call me to let me know what the manager decided, they just sent it via the app again, so the second message was more than just unexpected, it was maddening. It was received so close to their closing time, that, even had I WANTED to try for a third time to place an order in hopes that it would go through, the app would have locked me out before I had finished ordering. Whoever is responsible for training the staff on how to use this app needs to re-train the staff so they are better informed on how to make sure requests go through properly, and even more importantly, someone needs to reevaluate their take on Customer Service. I was happy, and joking with the staff member during the first call, and by the end of the second call, I was in tears. I am, or should I say WAS a fairly regular customer, but now I know that my business is neither wanted nor appreciated. read more

We were unable to call ahead (seems to be a new trend among restaurants during peak times?) as the voicemail box was full and no one answered after two attempts. Ordered through post-mates via google and had no issues. Food tasted fresh and the flavors were balanced. The sushi was generously portioned and the wasabi was tearfully strong (which is perfect imho)!! My wife is not a big fish fan, so she only got rolls, but loved the tempura California. Then right before opening the cans she told us no we don't. So we said what about fountain drinks. She said yes. The a second later she said no. We dont offer refills anylonger. I have been a long time customer but during the pandemic obviously I've been unable to dine with them. Decided to order delivery through an app. Was missing a few items, which is okay since that stuff happens. A few weeks later I did pick up/take out order through a food delivery app and it was missing multiple items again! Will not be doing business here again until dine in reopens since it seems to be a common occurrence for them to forget items when doing delivery/takeout. Can I give more stars!???? We found this place by accident. Pregnant daughter wanted Mexican food so I took her to Mr. Taco. Saw Hello Sushi right behind it so I ordered. The reviews were mixed but it was closer and I decided to try it. Sushi lovers, this was EXCELLENT. I got the baked scallops, the crab was REAL. It was delicious!! I also got the Sarah Roll, I believe. WONDERFUL. I got three California rolls for my daughter and we LOVED them. Prices were good, food was ready on time and delicious. What a great choice. The sushi was fresh. The Three Amigos tempura roll with thin onion rings on top was the bomb! It was my first time eating seared escolar . It is was seared in a lemony-pepper, very light oil (and seasonings I am unaware of). I can not describe how delicious it was!!!! Truly everything we ordered was excellent. The service was above par. We got a call saying they just got the order and it would take about 15 minutes. But because the cost of the order, they needed credit card info first. Wtheck. Ok that's fine, we have a baby in the car with limited time so please hurry up. We give them card info and drive around. Headed over about 20 minutes later. Still not ready. Took another 10 minutes. I'm mad at this point. Server didn't even apologize or offer a free service for our wait. Whatever. We get home, for 7 entrees, we got two chopsticks and two ginger packets. Wtheck again. To top it off, the sushi pieces on top of the rolls were like mice poop sized. Basically tiny. Why sell sushi like this. Never returning here again for anything. Please do better. read more

Went on a Monday, service was not great. One of the waitresses was rude; when we asked about the dishes, she gave a dirty look. We ordered the all you can eat, waited 25 minutes for two rolls that never came. Server never came to the table to check on us or explain why the rolls were taking so long. We had to ask 3 times for our rolls and the 3rd time we were told oh he's new sorry it's taking longer. We ended canceling the other rolls. Ask for the check and to speak to a manager no manager or supervisor on site and no one could give us the mangers phone number. Apparently, from what no one was in charge that afternoon. Due to Covid, still ordered delivery. This time, I got a lunch bento with veggie tempura and teriyaki chicken. The miso soup was nice and warm, to a taste I'm getting to like but no tofu inside. The house salad I got with the mustard dressing and it was DELICIOUS. It didn't look like much but it was more impressive than I had originally thought possible! I also got the avocado and tuna cut rolls. They were well portioned and very filling. Some were quite a bit larger than the others and exploded before I could get it to my mouth. (Oh, the sacrifices...) And on top of that, I got the egg sushi and it tasted great, as usual. Sadly, the only disappointing part of this meal was the teriyaki chicken. Why the low rating? They went under new management and took out some of their most tasiest dishes! Mainly my saba shioyaki. Also their all you can eat sushi is expensive. Anything you don't eat you have to pay extra! They got a bit more pricer too I think. They took out the dishes from the dinner combination plate too. So if you haven't been here in a while, be surprised that your items are limited. Sushi is alright, wasn't really impressed with them all. I actually got a headache after eating the all you can eat sushi O_O I've never had that before. The waitresses are nice as usual, but they're all young. They were also kind of slow. I think I spoke to three different girls in my one sitting. I wish the older ladies were back or at least there when I was. They were were attentative. Will I be coming back here? Ordered from this place through Grubhub twice. Mediocre at best. The most recent order, I got the bento box and the spider roll. The tempura was good, but everything else was not great. The crab in the spider roll was mushy and had an off taste. The chicken teriyaki, that came without sauce on it, tasted like boiled chicken that had been reheated. I hoped pouring the teriyaki sauce over it would cover up the dry, reheated chicken taste, but, sadly, it did not. I ended up giving some of it to my dog and throwing the rest away. I could only force myself to eat half the pricey spider roll before I got completely grossed out and had to stop. Based on these 2 experiences, I won't be ordering from here again. read more
