Bought 2007 BMW from this dealer/garage. 6 weeks later transmission malfunction light came on. Herbs Garage refused to honor limited warranty received w purchase to pay half of cost . I won a judgement against him in Superior court in Orange County. He refuses to pay full judgement awarded. Interesting how this business is either 5 stars or 1 star.. Arman and Darren are very dishonest and do not stand by judgements handed down by the court. Now, I have to file a Lien from the State of California to collect debt. Beware! read more

I went in to buy a used Subaru down the street and contacted Herb's garage, by a referral from a friend, to see if they could look at the car before I purchased it. They took me in right away. Darren was great. Checked out our car and gave us an estimate of the cost of repairs. This helped us in negotiating a lower price for our Subaru. Excellent customer service and shop. These guys were resourceful and found tools to undo my little mistake then put it on for me the right way. Definitely Shady. I stopped by their shop yesterday because my car had been leaking a little bit of oil recently. I politely asked if they'd reach under and tighten my oil filter and explained that I was almost positive it was from the oil filter, my buddy did an oil change for me a few months ago probably didn't tighten it enough and now that its getting cold the seal shrank a bit and I drive pretty hard.... The younger guy that works service ( I'm pretty sure owners son) thinks for a second and then says "what he did was double sealed it, when he took off the old filter he left the O ring and that's why it's leaking probably". I could see right through his BS. I said no, my buddy's smarter than that, he's a good mechanic, he says "then why don't you take it to him?", "because its not convenient right now and my cars leaking oil"...."we'll I'm gonna have to charge you like $20"... "ahh no thanks, that's alright". Then he gives me a snotty "alright we'll good luck" as I'm leaving, to which I reply "thanks a lot, you've been a big help, a great salesman" Then I crawled under and tightened it myself. read more

I've been going to Arman's since 2006. They have always treated me right and made sure my car was tip top. I have never felt that I have been taken advantage of or that they have tried to up-sell me. I live in LA now, but I will keep bringing my car down to Arman's! read more

Let me start out by saying I do love my new mini cooper that I got from Herbs and I do not regret swapping cars. But their service sucks and they are now avoiding my calls. It takes a lot to make me want to complain about a business and I am usually pretty understanding. But I believe this business deserves the review I am about to leave. I traded in my camry for a mini cooper about 2 months ago. It was an all-around easy transaction, it was pretty much an even swap. The mini had some dings that needed to be touched up and it needed new visor mirror covers. It was written into my contract that they would replace my visors, and Darren assured me that he would get new visors even after we told him that they could just replace the covers or the visors could be second hand, it didn't matter to me as long as they looked nice and the mirror lights were covered. The next day I took my car in and they fixed the dings (which was not written in the contact). The paint job was pretty good and I am happy with it. Now with the visors...3 or 4 weeks later I called Darren he said he had them in. I took my car in...apparently they didn't have them in and they were just planning to take them off 2 other mini coopers that they had. The funny thing is...they all happened to be broken and this wasn't checked before I brought my car in. So I got a free car wash. Then he told me he looked up the prices for new ones, it was $126 each for 2 new visors and that I would have to pay for one because it was too expensive and he couldn't find cheaper ones. That is not what was written into my contract. I then talked to Milton who said he would figure it out and talk to Darren and they would get them ordered. I have called 3 times now Milton is either not there or they leave me on hold for 10 minutes. I even had my boyfriend call to see if he could get through and as soon as he asked about the visors they then put him on hold for 7 minutes. After that I had my boyfriend research it as this is his area of expertise selling parts and what not at dealerships. What we found out is, it is $126 for a pair, $85 for just the mirror covers, or $85 for a pair of visors off ebay. So what Darren told me is bs. Through all of this I had never received a call back like I was told they would do and they never even called me to pick up my car when it had been painted. I give them one star because Herbs does not honor contracts, and I would not trust them with my car. UPDATE After I wrote this review...I surprisingly got a phone call saying they ordered them and that they were sorry Darren forgot to order them {obviously bs). But they would be there that Wednesday. I got another call two hours later saying that they already had them...weird. But the next day I called them again just to make sure they had them and got them put in that day. Second had and not broken...which is all I wanted. They still deserve one star after all the bs they put through just for SUNVISORS! and I still would not take my car here or recommend this place to anyone. read more

On my way to the Dentis, was on time for my appointment but something weird happen to my car on the way there. The gas pedal stop picking up speed. So I pull over the gas station. Open the hood and find out my radiator hose is crack. So the air pressure keep pushing out. There are almost no more coolant water left. My temp. Meter was up to high. I was so luck that Herb's was just around the corner. A young man cam over to help me out, his name is Daren if I don't remember it's wrong. His personality is very friend and helpful with the information on my car. In my head I though this gonna rip my wallet apart. But I was wrong, with the part is around $50 he only charge me $10 for labor. WOW he really make my day. And I drove down here from Vegas for my Dentis appointment. And I need a nice man. It is hard to find a honest an reliable auto shop I have been using Herbs garage for the past couple years and I am grateful I found them. I own a fully modified Nissan GTR and a lifted Toyota Tacoma and they do a great job on all my servicing needs. My vehicles are specialty vehicles and I am normally really weary about using shops because I put a lot of money into my vehicles. My Truck got keyed earlier this year and their paint shop also did a phenomenal job. They are a one stop shop and do everything you need on your vehicles I even asked Herbs if they could work on my boat and have been doing all of my boats maintenance. I could not be happier with the customer service and since have recommended all of my friends and family to the shop. Okay soooo...I'm not the best driver at times. However, I was driving my Volkswagen bug down a residential street and the specific house I was visiting had a very, very, deep driveway. Not paying attention, I made a sharp turn and banged the bottom of my car so hard I'm sure my mom felt miles away. I ignored what I did and started backing up. When suddenly....my oil starts pouring out like the Nile river--panicking I turned off the car and rushed out. I called a friend who referred me to herbs garage. Called up the shop and spoke with Daron, he assured me that it could be taken care of the same day. My car was towed by my handy dandy insurance company and once he gave me the diagnosis, I knew the repairs would be costly. I called other locations to get quotes for oil canisters, on my stupid German car, and all were over priced. Daron agreed to charge me significantly less than what the others were charging. As he promised, he completed the job the same day and it drove better than before. Friendly customer service. Was able to complete my brake service as estimated and even mentioned would have an extra person to assist to complete before I had to go to work. Thought labor charge was a little high considering 2.5 hours ended up being $250 in labor; however, I'm okay with that because the job was completed on time and they did show me the rotors needing replacement before replacing them. Better priced than Costa Mesa Subaru dealership considering they quoted me $300 more for the same service. read more

GREAT EXPERIENCE! I've been bringing my 2013 MB here for a few years and have always been EXTREMELY happy with the service, the prices and professionalism. I am a single mother and car repair is WAY down on my list of things that need to get done, so it is often neglected. Darren goes through the car and keeps me up to date on what needs to be done now, what needs to be done in 6+ months and if I am looking at any major upcoming repairs. I always dread that call from the repair shop hoping there's not a laundry list of items that need to be fixed ASAP but Darren is always reassuring, "We'll get it fixed, get you safe and get you back on the road." :-) We had gotten into an accident (I wish I knew he did body work at the time as this would be our first choice) and Darren even went through the repairs that were done by another body shop just to make sure all looked good. As someone who doesn't really know a lot about cars, car repair, etc....I have been and could easily again, be taken advantage of but Darren and crew are so HONEST! My ex even looked at a bill to see what was done and his comment was, "oh this is fair pricing...actually this is REALLY fair pricing and they did a great job." I mistakenly trusted them to repair my classic Mercedes when I saw a similar car parked in front of their shop. That car belonged to Arman the owner. Nearly $10K spent in repairs and the car drove worse than it did when I brought it to them. They were supposed to rebuild my climate control system. 3 times I got a call that it was ready to go, the AC was blowing cold. Each time I picked it up and driving it home had no cold air. I told Arman early on I only wanted him repairing the car since he knew the car better than his son. Come to find out it was his son doing all the repairs. Arman finally agreed to split the cost of having the climate system repaired by a specialist they knew, even though I had already paid them to fix it. The specialist rebuilt the system and it works well. I paid my half, Arman refused to pay his. I wanted to take them to court but other mechanics would not testify to what Herb's did not correctly do. I finally got referred to Marx Mercedes who saved the car. He fixed the timing and everything that Herb's claimed they repaired. It drives better than ever now. read more
