Wait, wait, wait. There were two people ahead of me and only one employee working the desk, so I waited about 30 minutes to get my car. Since I'm a Hertz Gold member, once I finally reached the counter, the transaction took all of 30 seconds. It made me wonder why there isn't a faster process for Gold members whose pickups take less than a minute. I had reserved a four-door midsize sedan, but was told the only vehicle available was a two-door Mustang. Since I needed to transport family members to and from a wedding reception, this was not an ideal substitute. The Hertz representative suggested the issue was that I had arrived early. My reservation, however, was for 10:00 a.m., and I arrived at 9:35. I asked whether they realistically expected a suitable four-door sedan to arrive, be processed, and become available within the next 25 minutes. The answer was clearly no. To be fair, the Mustang itself was a very nice car, nearly new with only about 2,500 miles. It had the satisfying low growl of a muscle car, accelerated well, and handled nicely. But as you'd expect, the rear passenger space was tiny, and the low, deep front passenger seat was not appreciated by my petite companion. Overall, the vehicle itself was enjoyable, but the pickup experience and mismatch between the reserved and assigned vehicle left a disappointing impression. read more

I just needed a rental for the day. This location was able to accommodate my last-minute reservation and offered flexible, after-hours drop off so that I could make the most of my reservation time. The front desk staff were super polite, didn't try to pressure me into any add-ons but instead explained what was available in a way that allowed me to make an informed decision on what was best for me. No pressure. They did not have my class of vehicle in stock so they offered me something a little smaller (and cheaper). The vehicle was clean, free of odors, and drove well. Even with the additional insurance add-on that I opted for, it was still a great prince for the rental. Drop off was a breeze. When I was ready to return the car, I simply parked it in the area neat the office and used the drop-off box to return the key. The following morning I received a return confirmation and receipt. It could not have been any easier or any more convenient. I am very pleased with my experience. read more

I had an extremely disappointing experience with the Hertz location in Littleton (East County Line Road). I rented a car through GMC while my own vehicle was in for warranty repairs. When I picked up the rental, the staff assured me that all costs were covered by GMC, including partial insurance, and encouraged me to accept it. Later, I found out that the insurance was not included. I immediately chat with them on March 28 through their website and the agent said to call the number 800-552-8482, which I did on April 3rd to cancel it, and the representative confirmed that it had been cancelled from my rental. Despite this, I was still charged nearly $720 for the coverage I was explicitly told had been cancelled. I feel that I was misled and taken advantage of, possibly because English is not my first language. I trusted the information provided by the Hertz staff, and that trust was clearly misplaced. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will seek legal action for misrepresentation and negligence. I do not recommend this Hertz location. Be very cautious. read more

I am absolutely appalled by the complete unprofessional experience that I received from the Hertz car rental location at 311 County Line Rd. in Littleton Colorado. To start with I reserved a car online one week before my rental was to take place. When I dropped my car off at the dealership for Repair they reached out to Hertz and said that I would be picked up in 10 minutes or so. After 40 minutes of waiting, I called and an extremely rude lady by the name of Stacy, I believe left me on hold over 10 minutes then proceeded to say that because I was paying out of pocket they would not come pick me up, she said hey only pick up for insurance customers, I ask what was the difference? Money is money regardless who's paying for it? I'm still renting a car there. She finally agreed to have someone come pick me up at the dealership, The gentleman who picks me up apologized profusely for her rudeness on the phone. When I get to the Hertz rental counter. I was given a Kia Soul as my rental car . I explained that I had reserved a full size premium sedan and question why I was getting a Kia soul. She rudely said that that's all we have and asked do you want the car or not? When I explained I had reserved it a week prior online she said well. website is wrong. We don't have premium sedans . The gentleman sitting next to her, saw that I was becoming frustrated and said check back in two days and I will find you something better to drive. I had no choice but to leave in the tiny box car Kia soul. On the second day I went back to hopefully change out the car for what I had actually reserved a week prior and was told they had nothing to offer and maybe check back tomorrow. I drove up the street to Enterprise Rent-A-Car and they were more than pleasant. Said they absolutely had a full size sedan that I could have immediately and apologized for what I had experienced From Hertz. I gassed up the the Kia Soul and took it back to Hertz and explained since they could not fulfill their contract. I was going to just simply return the car pay for the two days that I drove their car and call it good. . The man behind the counter could have cared less that I was returning the car and going else ware. He proceeded with my closing out of the contract and then handed me a receipt for more than double the amount on my rental agreement.. When I questioned the dollar amount going from $28 a day to $70 a day he said well it's because you canceled your contract. I said the only reason I canceled my contract is because Hertz could not provide the car that I had reserved. He said that's not my problem because you broke the contract we have to charge you a higher rate. He said if I was unhappy with that, I could call an 800 number which I have proceeded to call three times today to no avail. Sitting on terminal hold, after what I experienced I'm guessing that the customer service line is overwhelmed with complaints and that's why the hood time is so excessive and nobody ever answers. This is just another page of the downfall of Hertz rental. Hertz proceeded to charge my credit card more than double the rate that was contracted. His only explanation was that I canceled the contract, therefore, the rate was higher. I again explained the reason I was canceling the contract as they could not provide the car that I had reserved. Keep in mind when I pick the car up I explained that I had rented the car for a week and one day with the estimate that if my car were finished earlier, I could bring it back and they said no problem now today he's trying to tell me that because I canceled the contract that they could not fulfill that I got charged a higher rate. I saw that this location had a lower overall rating than Charles Manson. And I still let my insurance company book my replacement rental here. I called and verified the reservation 2 days ago. Everything was good. The Body Shop I dropped my car at told me good luck...Hertz is a nightmare and I could expect the staff to be completely incompetent and rude. I remained hopefully optimistic. When I arrived at Hertz at the appointed time... "sorry, no cars. Don't see your reservation regardless.". Tried offering my confirmation number but got "Oh here it is, we tried calling you like 5 times but it kept rolling to voice mail to let you know your reservation must be at a location down in Castle Rock. Sorry we didn't leave a message". I showed Zero missed calls. I make my living from that phone. I generally don't miss calls....and I return them when I do miss them. Back to more bald-faced lying: "Don't know when we will get cars because you never know when customers will actually return them." It was like a Seinfeld episode. My mother and I rented a car from Hertz for our trip to Germany on 11/28/23. We picked the car up from the airport, and checked into our VRBO that night and parked the car on the side street in front of our VRBO. The following morning, we were heading to the car and our VRBO host stopped us and informed us that we had a flat tire. I called Hertz Roadside Assistance and sat on hold for approximately 10-15 minutes. When no one answered our call, we opted to carefully drive the car exactly one mile away to a neighborhood mechanic; whom our VRBO host had recommended. After looking at the tire, the mechanic informed us that it was damaged beyond repair, and he did not have the size of tire in stock. We headed back to the car, still parked in front of the mechanic shop, and proceeded to call Hertz Roadside Assistance. After an hour of waiting on hold and being disconnected numerous times, we finally reached a gentleman who took my information, the address where we were waiting and the license plate number of the car. He assured me that someone would be calling us within the "next few minutes". Two hours later, we were cold and hungry, still waiting in the car for Hertz Roadside Assistance to call us back. I began calling them repeatedly to try to get ahold of someone. I even called Customer Service in the US to try to speak to anyone who might be able to help us. With no success, we decided to take a taxi to the airport to see if we might be able to rent a different car from the Hertz Kiosk at the airport. The agents at the kiosk insisted that they had no cars available, and we needed to call Roadside Assistance. They repeatedly confirmed that there was nothing they could do to help us. We took a taxi back to the car and continued to wait another two hours. At this point, we were all hungry. We decided to walk, with my 75-year-old mother, in the freezing cold, back to our VRBO to get some snacks and get warm. Around 4pm our VRBO host knocked on our door and informed us that the mechanic shop (where we had left the car) had called him to inform him that there was a tow truck there to take our rental car and they needed the keys. Our host offered us a ride back to the mechanic shop to meet the tow truck driver. We grabbed the car keys and drove to the shop, hoping to find another car waiting for us. There was no car to exchange for our car with the flat tire. The tow truck driver informed us that he was not affiliated with Hertz. He had just received notification that there was a car to pick up at that address. With that, we handed the keys over to him and he towed our rental car away. We were left standing there, with no car, and never hearing one word from Hertz. We were literally stranded. We are still trying to get our money back from Hertz and we now have a lawyer involved. read more

Okay so I rented a vehicle from Hertz and it was ann electric vehicle. I've never driven and electric vehicle. I went in and was greeted and quickly taken care of. I asked the gentlemen taking care of me to show me how to charge the car at home. His response was that it is easy and I should have no problems figuring it out. Off I was car was excellent and really nice! Night before returning the vehicle I go into the trunk and find the charger get it plugged in but it had no way of plugging it into the 120v at home. I wrote a note attached to the key fob explaining this to them as I dropped the car off before the y opened. Jordan the store manager calls me back and says it is my fault that I am still responsible for it not being charged and that I will still be charged extra for the car not being charged even though the team member wouldn't show me how to charge the vehicle. Jordan did not have professional communication and or customer service during our phone conversation he just kept repeating himself and did not take accountability for the lack of showing me how to use the device. My hope is that Jordan and the crew get more training on customer service communication and treat their guests better moving forward. If you make a mistake as a company you should own your part and sometimes it may cost you going the extra mile which customers will appreciate and value your company more. I really hope this company does well I think overall a good company just lacking good customer service for management/ownership. read more

I had a rental car from this Hertz location through insurance company due to my new truck being wrecked by someone who apparently doesn't understand how common sense, traffic signals and intersections work. Car that I had was ok, a tad small for me and didn't go very well in the snow even for a front wheel drive. I'm used to driving pick up trucks and don't care much for riding in a car honestly. It was clean and didn't smell like butt or real funky like other rentals I've had in the past. Everything was taken care of through Hertz and no issues really. Location is kind of far from me, close to the body shop I used for repairs though. I wouldn't have any issue using them again if I had too. read more

It would be a long story to tell. It's the worst experience ever with a rented car. The car itself (a Toyota) was good. The reservation was set up more than a month before and the car wasn't ready. We had even called 2 days before as a reminder. The car was given terribly dirty. Unbelievable! Clerk wasn't concerned about it. The office is the ugliest, old fashion, in ruins office ever. My husband needed the restroom and he couldn't believe how dirty it was. He mentioned it to the clerk and he responded it wasn't intended for customers. This response is rude and a lack of respect, in my opinion. Clerk gives a very bad service. I would never go back to this place. His personal appearance doesn't speak for Hertz at all. This location is a miniature version of a real Hertz. It's located in a strip mall a couple of doors down from the DMV and does not have a fleet of cars out front. Just be aware of this when you book, because your pickings will be very, very slim. I was rear ended about a week after buying a new car and needed a rental while it went to the body shop to get fixed. My insurance company and the auto body place said they work with Hertz a lot, so that is who I used. I am a Hertz Gold member and have always had good experienced in the past. No complaints. Fast forward to yesterday. The very nice gentleman from Hertz promptly picks me up at the auto repair shop. Thank you, Hertz! My complaint is that they tried to give me a kia soul when I had asked for a larger car. Then he said they had a Nissan Rogue, which was front wheel drive only. Nope, that won't work either. The last choice for something "bigger" was an Expedition. It's huge and has four wheel drive, so I can't complain, but it has 16k miles on it and seems like a well used vehicle. Usually, rentals are pretty new and clean, not like you are borrowing your friend's husband's car. The people at this location are incredibly friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to use Hertz again, BUT I would request a specific car in advance. Especially if you want to have all or four wheel drive when we are supposed to be getting snow. read more

We were told that this Hertz location would pick up their rental car from the repair shop after we picked up our repaired vehicle. They did not. Hertz let the car sit at the repair shop for a week then charged us for it. The repair shop has records of their calls to Hertz to come pick up the crap rental car and Hertz never did. And again, we have been charged for a week of a rental car that we didn't use. Don't listen to Hertz and bring your car back on your own or they'll pull this. It's on Hertz 100%. Plus, when calling to get this resolved, Hertz didn't do anything about it for 2 weeks, then tells us we have to wait 2 more weeks to get this figured out. Unbelievably ridiculous, the incompetency is staggering. If you can go with another rental location, do yourself a favor and do so. What a unprofessional business location. After I told one of the associates that I strictly NEED a full size SUV or Pick Up, he kept telling me that they only have two cars available, Jeep Compass or some Toyota Mini Van. After I decided to go with Jeep I waited for the car to be cleaned. 15 min later Jeep was ready and after inspecting it, I noticed that the tires were so worn that it wasn't safe to even leave their location. Another sales associate agreed and told me that he can give me GMC Tahoe. I was speechless. The minute I came in I kept telling the associate that I need a full size SUV and he kept saying that he doesnt have one, when the car that fitted my needs was in the back. Again I waited for the second car to be cleaned and after 30-45 minutes I was on my way. Great way to screw over your customers when refusing to offer the car that was available after being told multiple times that that I needed specific size car. As others have mentioned, it's slim pickings on the choice of cars. Most of the cars that I pick up from here smell like corn chips and farts covered up by cheap air freshener. The service of the staff can vary. Some want to give smart responses to everything and practically dig through your pockets to see your ID, while others are laid back and understand that Gold members likely know the drill. Some let you take the car and go, while others insist on taking pictures of the outside and inside. Taking the pictures always make me question what's going on and make me very uncomfortable as a customer. But it's cheaper to rent a car to the airport than Uber/Lyft so I'll keep returning. read more

There are lot of things that went wrong with my rental. Here goes the list of issues: 1). I was suppose to be picked up for rental from my collision shop. After 30 minutes of waiting on the phone (in 2 separate lines) to get picked up, I walked to the rental location in cold temperature. 2). At the rental shop, There were 8 people ahead of me in the line. It took literally 45 minutes to get my car. As a result, I had to miss my work by 90 minutes because of Hertz. 3). When I got to desk to pick up the car and do the paper work, I was offered the smallest car. As a VIP member, I was expecting a bigger car. Rather I was offered smallest car rented. I believe it is NISSAN VERSA or smaller. I called few days before to ensure I am getting comparable SUV and was confirmed as a YES in the phone before coming. Here I am dealing with a compact car issue. What in the world is going with this rental place and Hertz? 4) Finally, after some hassle, they offered me Ford Explorer that was not cleaned inside and outside. As I am already running late, I did not have time to deal with car cleanliness. What a bad experience. 5) I returned the car with full tank that was checked by the guy that took the car and notice a fuel charge on my credit card. I filled the tank on my way to return at Sams Club which is less than five miles from rental place. Now, I am dealing with fuel charge on my bill. 6) At the time of return, my receipt did not indicate partial tank. However, the bill I received today (at end of the month e-return) I have over $15 of fuel charge. This is ridiculous and looks like the location manager is after money in every possible way. I am not at all impressed with Hertz experience from this location and absolutely will not recommend. read more

My first experience with a rental. I was getting repairs done at a local body shop. The rep from Hertz picked me up right on time and took me back to the Hertz location and filled out paperwork in a timely manner. I returned the car and a Hertz rep dropped me off at the body shop to get my vehicle. The whole experience was painless. I had been warned about car rental places and how they are pushy about selling you extra coverage. They didn't do that at this location. My interaction with staff was pleasant and I plan to use them again. The only complaint I have is that the vehicle I used had dirty seats. read more

If negative starts was a thing this place would get -100. Absolute worst costumer service I have ever received in my life and biggest waste of time. I called ahead to make sure there was a car ready for me and the guy told me there were plenty of cars and I had nothing to worry about. Shockingly when I got there 10 minutes later somehow all their cars had disappeared. After going back and forth with my insurance for over an hour the guy settled and finally gave me a car, even though he had previously said there were no more cars available. He pulls up the car throws me the keys and walks away without doing a walk around inspection or anything and demand I be back at 8 in the morning or I would be charged for an upgrade. There I am at 8 am sharp and still no car to swap out with. As I am waiting very frustrated and impatient the two male workers were absolutely no help and profoundly rude and unprofessional. After another hour long session with management and the insurance I leave with the same car I started with. And after all this they still tried to charge me $200 when the insurance had it all covered. Long story short this place sucks and I repeat NEVER COME HERE! Since I had my 4 year old and her car seat, I was told that we would be picked up in our actual rental car. NOPE. So had to install the car seat two separate times. I was also very clear that we have two kids/car seats, so need a small SUV. Was promised that we would received a small SUV. NOPE. Just a sedan. And when I asked to speak to a manager to see why nothing I was promised happened, I was told that there wasn't one. Don't go here unless you have to. They had to drive me up the street to get another car, which was extremely dirty and smelled!! When I went to return the vehicle there was a problem with insurance.
