Sandwich Branding from Heskas Sugar Shack.

No more Subway and no more Jersey Mikes! Weve found a great Deli/Restaurant! Everything on our Sandwiches was fresh! No preservatives, just FRESH! A hidden GEM in the Mentone area! We will definitely be returning! Heska and Joe thank you for the conversation and the great food! A perfect, cozy restaurant!

Amazing everything I'm on a mission to try every single sandwich better than Jersey mikes. Better than subway. Best food in mentone hands down. And owners are amazing

AMAZING SERVICE AND QUALITY. Best homemade food anywhere you go. The service is amazing, true love birds with a story behind their cafe/restaurant. Cozy and comfy indoor and outdoor setting. Dog friendly and human friendly too. Treat the owners with respect, they don't disappoint! Fresh and good quality food. I go here every time I drive up the 38 or go to big Bear. They have live music too!

This place is super cute and has the most personable owners. I ordered a vanilla latte hot and it was perfection. I love the personalized mugs. The ambiance is very laid back. Check out their outdoor patio area too.

A gem in mentone, Heska is so fun to talk to. Not only that but the FOOD so so good my friends all got something different and we were passing our sandwichs around the table for each of us to try and trading because we all liked each others. Really cool spot, can't wait to bring my pups next time!

A great place to stop for lunch. Busy on a Sunday afternoon. Promptly greeted and order was taken quickly. Food as delicious, beef dip was excellent, oriental chicken salad was on the smaller side (ordered a large portion). Plenty of seating inside and dog friendly seating outside.

Oriental Chicken Salad Mongolian Beef Sandwich

Whenever I'm back in Redlands visiting my parents, I make a trip to Heskas for my usual: Mocha Frappe with the Spicy Mongolian Beef and Oriental Salad combo. This time I took my dog Yuki with me for a lunch date at their Bark Park. Joe, Heska's husband, was super sweet and went out of his way to accommodate Yuki with a water bowl and a Milkbone. I used to study inside by the window years ago, and the coziness of the Shack extended nicely to the backyard as well. Thanks for all the years of delicious sandwiches and Mocha frappes!

This place is always busy, both inside and with takeout orders, so I definitely recommend ordering ahead if you're in a hurry. That said, they are consummate professionals at what they do, and even if you walk in, the wait is never painful. My advice: check out the menu while you're in line and be ready to order when you get to the register. They're busy, and nobody wants to be the indecisive person holding up the line! Their daily specials are incredible, but be aware that if you want a special from a different day, it's not happening. Also, get there early if you want the special, because they can and do sell out -- which honestly just proves how good they are. Everything here is done right. The menu items are thoughtfully put together, balanced, and full of flavor. Portions are generous without being ridiculous, prices are very fair, and honestly, I think they may even be low compared to the value you get. The staff is always helpful, and the girl at the counter has been there as long as I've been going -- I believe she's family -- which says a lot about the heart behind this place. Don't skip the market, either. They carry some of the best Italian ingredients, and it adds even more to the experience. Saverino's is by far the best sandwich spot in Redlands, and I'd go out on a limb and put them in the top five on the West Coast. Family-run, local, consistent, and absolutely top notch. This place is a winner and deserves a try. Just one warning: THEY ARE ADDICTIVE!

Lovely fresh flowers on the outside of the building, crisp and clean interior, plenty of seating in indoors and outdoors. We chose the covered outdoor section, because of the weather was lovely today. My iced lavender latte was phenomenal, perfectly sweetened. My friend had the iced dirty chai, which she loved, as well. The menu was so vast that we had difficulty choosing what we wanted to eat. I've already determined that I will go back with my husband to try more items! But for today, I ordered the mushroom Swiss Panini, and she ordered the Caprese on a ciabatta bun. We chose these sandwiches already knowing that we would swap a half to be able to try both! We were not disappointed. The bread on the mushroom Swiss was buttery toasted goodness, and cheese to mushroom ratio was just right. The Caprese was warm and savory, and the balsamic onion jam was absolutely delicious. Very pleased with our visit overall!

Inside is all reclaimed wood and cozy tables, people working on laptops, the coolest Redlands City Limits sign, kids flipping through board games and books in the corner, soft chatter, good energy. Pro tip: get in line as soon as you get there because it fills up fast and the line can absolutely go out the door. I had the chai latte (so good), a cheese danish (dangerous), and an Everlasting Ferments kombucha...the Habanero Ginger is a sleeper hit. You can also snag breakfast burritos if you're lucky (they sell out), or freshly made stuffed waffles from a vendor outside, which somehow makes the whole experience feel extra charming. There are cute little café tables all around and a tucked-away, walled patio in the back that's perfect for bigger groups. Already planning future coffee dates. There are only a few places to eat open for breakfast and other times. Unfortunately, the place was under renovations at the time of our visit. I was not able to go inside or see what the inner decorum looked like. Instead, I had a nice meal outside in the seating area. The food is pretty standard in terms of early cafe. I was kind of expecting more of a brunch menu. Instead, it is mostly breakfast sandwiches and other cold cuts. I did order the namesake of the store, the Stell Club. For me, the food was average. I think the best part of the meal was the bread. It was crunchy and moist enough. The sandwich meats were definitely on the dry and salty side. I wonder if they were fresh cut. Similarly, there was some sauce but I did not notice it very much between the mayonnaise and other condiments inside the sandwich. I don't know if the idea is to make the sandwich extra salty so I'll buy more drinks. I would rate this place in the category of come here if you're starving, wait for a different place to open if possible.

The Reuben and potato salad combo was especially hearty and satisfying, with rich, savory flavors that felt very true to a classic deli experience. The Hungarian sausage had a great depth of flavor, savory and well-seasoned without tipping into being overly salty. The cherry strudel was a standout to end the meal, filled generously with cherries and syrup, wrapped in a flaky pastry that balanced sweetness and texture really well. The beer tied everything together nicely, cold and refreshing, and exactly what you'd want with this kind of meal. I still prefer Busy Bees in San Pedro, but this was a nice alternative within the IE area. Price: George's Market falls into a casual, reasonable deli pricing tier. Sandwiches like the Reuben and similar deli items are generally in the mid‑teens range, while sausage plates and hot meals can push closer to around $15-20 depending on what you get. Beer and imported items vary, but overall you can expect to spend about $15-25 per person for a solid, filling meal. Given the quality, portion sizes, and specialty nature of the food, the pricing feels fair. Ambiance: The space is part cozy German market, part deli counter, with a warm, wood-heavy interior that feels inviting and a bit nostalgic. There's both indoor seating and an outdoor area, giving flexibility depending on the weather or how busy it is. Beyond the dining area, the market itself sells a wide range of German groceries and specialty products, which adds to the charm and makes it feel like more of an experience than just a quick meal. Service: Service was good and impressively efficient given how busy it gets. There was a noticeable line when we went (especially on a weekend lunch time), but things moved steadily and the staff kept everything organized without feeling rushed or chaotic. Friendly and straightforward overall. Parking: Parking is one of the easier parts of the visit. It's located in a plaza with a large shared lot, so there's plenty of space and no real hassle finding a spot, even during peak hours.
