It gives accurate waiting times which is way better than waiting in the long line! Sometimes the app ordering isn't available, but keep refreshing and it may open up later. Hey Tea uses real tea with no artificial flavors which I love. I also like that they have a 0 calorie sugar substitute that you can add for free! Some of the drinks have toppings included in the price too, like the sago drinks and the grape cloud. My favorite drinks are the cloud crisp grape, coconut mango boom, and mango boom! Hey Tea took over a small boba spot that was originally there, but closed down sometime last year. I didn't really know what to order, but I got the following to try out a good variety. I ordered: -Regular Coconut Mango Boom -Jasmine Matcha Latte I believe with tip, my order came out to be like $18 which is pretty steep for boba IMO. When I came here Sunday night, there was no line at all. There was a mobile kiosk by the door, but it was not working so you had to order at the cashier. I ended up ordering and asked the cashier some recommendations for milky + fruity options, which is how I ordered one of the drinks. I paid fairly quickly, but good lord it took nearly like 25-30 minutes for my drink to be ready. Thankfully, I was doing laundry near my apartment, so my husband and I drove back to finish the rest of our laundry and came back to pick up our drinks. I would recommend ordering ahead of time versus ordering in person to get a better time estimate. It would be good to walk around Westlake rather than wait inside for your drink. There is also a screen mounted above the wall that will tell you what order they're preparing and the wait. The store itself is fairly small and there are a limited amount of seats/tables available. REVIEW OF DRINKS: -Coconut Mango Boom: This was pretty good! It's a less sweet version of a coconut mango sago that I enjoyed. However by the time I picked it up, the mango part was already melting. The coconut was very refreshing. 4/5 -Jasmine Matcha latte: This one was good too! I didn't really taste much jasmine, but the matcha itself was very smooth and not bitter at all. On a weekend afternoon, my friend and I did not bother sitting and waiting inside the boba shop, even though we enjoyed the minimalistic white interior. I ordered the Brown Sugar Bobo Oat Milk Tea. Cheese Cloud FTW! As a lover of Happy Lemon's salted cheese series in like 10+ years, I got so happy when I tried Hey Tea. For the first time, I found one that is comparable to my go-to drink in HL. Comparable being the key word as they are not exactly the same recipe-wise. Hey Tea for me is all about being extra. I ordered the Cheese Cloud Green Tea. The cheese topping is super thick by default not just in terms of consistency but also the amount in each cup. I do not have to pay for extra cheese topping which is a plus! It is very creamy with just the right taste of cheese. Also, the green tea is MORE floral and fragrant which gives a nice finish in every sip. Tip: download the app and sign up for 15% off your order, up to $5. One of the staff will come around with the menu and mark down the orders on the paper, which then you'll give to the person in front of the counter. This made things much faster. One thing I noticed is that some ppl were allowed to order more than one BOGO.. which is kind of unfair to everyone else. I had a coconut mango boom. Why it didn't meet my expectation: 1. Qualify issue with the ingredients. I had quite a few bad mongo pieces in my drink, so yucky (spoiled or contaminated taste) that I had to spit them out instead of swallowing down with the drink. That bad. 2. This place has quickly become my go-to spot for boba! After three visits, I thought it was time to share my experience. During my first two visits, I had trouble ordering through the app, likely because it gets pretty busy and app orders are temporarily unavailable at peak times--totally understandable. On my third visit, I could finally order through the app, which made the whole experience much smoother. I ordered the coconut mango boom and the bobo milk tea on their app. I was very easy to use and order ahead. Even though it said it would take 20 minutes at first, it ended up taking less time to be ready. I went to pick it up and it was super quick and easy. The drinks were right there on the counter ready to be picked up. The bobo (or boba) in the milk tea was soft and sweet, just the right texture and the milk tea was the strength I preferred. My coworker enjoyed her mango drink. The only thing is she found a small piece of foil in it, but mistakes can happen. 4.5/5 stars in reality. They currently have around 8 to 10 people behind the counter making those drinks, which is why they make them quick since they are still brand new. Successfully got to get our orders in! We ordered online on the app because there's always a line outside. We ordered the grapefruit mango boom and coconut mango boom and it was ready in less than 10 minutes. Located in a shopping plaza, there's some direct spots outside the store but tons of parking in the lots not too far and a parking garage in the back. I got the grapefruit mango boom and I loved it! The grapefruit was a good touch and not too strong. The drink reminds me of an Asian dessert like sago, not like a typical boba drink. Also not too sweet. My friend got the coconut mango boom and it was similar but you can taste the difference in flavor. Huge fruit and jelly pieces. I can't want to try the other drinks they have to offer! Service is quick, tons of workers, there's very little seating inside and people hangout outside sometimes and the store has a nice modern sleek look. read more

I'm obsessed with boba but my boyfriend isn't so every time I convince him to take me to the boba shop he does it to make me happy. We decided to try this spot since it was on the way home and we'd seen it before on Doordash. As we walked up on a Friday afternoon there was a line out the door, which I took to be a good sign. There is a screen displaying orders in progress and estimated wait times. There was a kiosk to order but also a cashier who took the occasional order between calling out orders that were ready. The counter was full of drinks so I'm assuming we came at a busy time, Friday late afternoon/early evening. I hadn't previewed the menu ahead of time but it was clear that everyone was getting something with mango, and the cashier was very patient with explaining the menu items to us first timers despite everything else going on. I ended up getting the Regular Coconut Mango Boom with Less Sugar and my boyfriend got the Regular Mango Grapefruit Boom with No Added Sugar, No Sago, Add Brown Sugar Bobo. I would say that the drinks here are on the pricier side, but also that the ingredients used are fresh and justify the price, just wouldn't necessarily call it value for money. We also had to pay extra to add the brown sugar bobo, subbing it for the sago was not an option. I tried some of the brown sugar bobo and will say that it is incredibly soft, clearly made fresh, but too soft for my personal liking. I was a big fan of the coconut milk jelly that came in the coconut mango boom though, and it actually inspired me to make some coconut jelly at home the next day. The best part was that my boyfriend really enjoyed his drink, so I'm glad to have discovered a spot that we both approve of. As fitness people, we really appreciated how Heytea is one of the few boba shops with calorie information readily on display. Boba is by no means a low calorie beverage but you'd be surprised at how many calories can come in a cup! I downloaded the Heytea app after we ordered and will say that it is one of the better ones in terms of boba shop apps on the market. To add to this already shining review, one of my coworkers mentioned a few days after that there is a Heytea location in San Jose as well so I'm definitely looking forward to visiting that location soon! read more
