Came here on a Monday afternoon around 1:20 and there wasn't a line. The place has a clean aesthetic with lots of lights. I got the mulberry bloom, which I believe is mulberry green tea. I asked for the cashier's suggestion in terms of sweetness and ice level, she suggested less sweet with less ice with the complimentary jasmine jelly. The total came out to be $6.99, which I thought was gonna be more expensive, considering the hype. I like how much mulberry was in the tea, and it didn't taste super sweet and syrupy. Minus one star for the cashier interaction. I understand that promotions like BOGO can make things extremely busy and stressful, and I truly appreciate how hard the staff works during those times. The tea quality is always consistent and never a disappointment, which is why I keep coming back. However, during my recent visit, I had an uncomfortable interaction with the cashier. After placing my order, I showed my rewards QR code before he entered it into the system because on previous visits I had been told it was "too late" to scan afterward. He told me he needed to put the order in first before scanning. I said I understood and asked him to go ahead and enter it, explaining that I just didn't want to miss my reward again. He repeated himself, and I again assured him I understood and told him to take his time and scan it afterward. The interaction felt unnecessarily passive-aggressive, which made the experience awkward. I even noticed the customer in front of me was unable to scan his reward afterward, which reinforced my concern. I completely understand being overwhelmed during a promotion. It might help to have more staff scheduled on promo days so employees aren't stretched so thin. A little patience and courtesy go a long way, and I hope future visits feel more welcoming and less tense. read more

My friend and I came here on a weekend holiday, and it was packed! Although there are a couple of benches in the black and white themed boba shop, most people choose to walk around and enjoy their boba considering how crowded the shop is with intermingling lines between people ordering and people picking up their order. I ordered the Matcha Bobo Shake with less ice and sugar while my friend ordered the Cloud Coconut Blue. Even though it was busy, and they mentioned that they were understaffed, our order was ready within in 20 minutes, which I do not thing was a long time to wait. My Matcha Bobo Shake was rich in flavor and was quite refreshing! It contrasted the Cloud Coconut Blue, which had a strong coconut taste and was enjoyable to my friend's tastebuds. I visited Hey Tea on their grand opening day and tried the Cloud Crisp Grape and Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea (though they accidentally gave me the milk version instead of the milk tea). The Cloud Crisp Grape was extremely sweet, even with regular sugar and less ice. While they emphasize fresh ingredients, the artificial grape juice flavor was overpowering, making the real grape chunks barely noticeable. The cloud foam didn't add much, aside from a slightly creamier texture. For the Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk, the mix-up was a bit disappointing, but the staff did offer to remake it (with a 15-minute wait). I decided to just take the milk version, but unfortunately, it wasn't good--the milk had an odd, almost spoiled taste. The boba itself was chewy and well-made, but the drink overall was not something I'd order again. With Hey Tea opening in an already competitive boba scene, surrounded by places like Ume Tea and Hui Lau Shan, they have a tough road ahead. Parking is hectic and stressful especially during rush hours of lunch or weekend times, would definitely recommend downloading the app and ordering thru there, plus they have order coupons and points available directly on the app! I've experienced both kind and rude service. My biggest gripe is the inability to order ahead. I've seen it open up while I'm on the app and then shut off.
