Tried out this new tea spot at Atlantic Plaza that everyone's been hyping up for their Triple Matcha Latte and Cloud Coconut Blue . The place was packed--tiny shop so everyone's crammed outside waiting for their number. They really push ordering through kiosk/app, which was cool since the app shows wait time + orders ahead (nice feature ). But pickup was a mess... no separate lines, just a crowd by the counter. Had to raise my voice just to grab my drinks . As for the drinks: Triple Matcha Latte: 7/10 - decent but nothing special, kinda wished it was creamier. Cloud Coconut Blue: 5/10 - nope. I've been trying to visit for the hype. The line is always long when I'm in the area. I finally decided to order there. Next time, I'll use the HeyTea app to order before I go to this plaza. I recently tried mulberries at a friend's house and learned it's sweet and good for you. So when I happened to want to try the latest new boba shop that was booming in the plaza I took a gander at the menu options and found they had this Mulberry Black flavor, which had fresh mulberry fruit with strawberries in jasmine tea. I had to try it. There were approximately five mulberry strands which gave it a rich feel. It was a refreshing drink and would definitely go back and drink it again. It's best to preorder your drink prior to arriving because it was super busy and no place to sit. You'll have to walk into the plaza area to find seating. Our drinks took roughly 25 minutes to get. Heytea is a great location for a quick to go drink! The service was very fast even on a busy night like tonight. Surprisingly there were many people out and about on a Monday but our drinks still came out fast and they were all delicious! The store itself is very aesthetic, but small and cute so don't expect to have much places to hang around unless you want to stand outside. But there is also a lot of shopping area to walk around near the boba shop. My favorite drink of the three had to be the matcha coconut cloud! Luckily I came right before the rush because about 5 minutes later (around 12:30pm) there was a huge crowd waiting to order. The shop is small but smelled wonderful from the tea leaves. I decided to try their green grape boom which is a green grape slushie without the cheese foam. For $7.50, it was okay, nothing too amazing. There are chunks of green grape at the bottom and a hint of tea flavor. I think I was more impressed by the workers who were nonstop making drinks to churn out the orders. I'm curious to try the other drinks despite the steep pricing. Maybe the next time I stop by for brunch in the area! read more

However I was most disappointed at the service, because my number was shown on the tv, I showed the lady at the counter my receipt and she said she has my drink ready, but she still proceeded to wipe all the other drinks and tend to others before me when I was there first and waited for a very long time. Is it because I don't speak mandarin?? I also noticed that she was messing around with her coworker and purposely dropped a cap to throw at her.. A new HeyTea spot added to SGV and I was extremely excited for this spot to open. Located in Atlantic Time Square by the side of the street, this place is extremely busy most days and at most times. Parking is plenty and free in a underground lot. The shop is very small, adding to the large crowds of people, which leads to a lot of people crowding inside. There's no crowd control or line control from the staff which is not ideal. They recently added a self ordering kiosk instead of ordering with a cashier which directs the line a bit but because of the small space, it gets very crowded regardless. Highly recommend to order on their app to avoid long waits and lines. 1. The Mango Grapefruit Boom is always my go to drink at HeyTea, a big plus with HeyTea is that their drinks are very customizable, from caffeine free tea to adding/removing ingredients, this drink is a must try if you love fruit tea type drinks. Cups are very well made and can be closed to save for another time. We ordered ahead and still waited 15 mins when we arrived. I tried the jasmine milk tea with matcha cloud. I got oat milk as well. It was ok. I was a little disappointed since it was my first time and I've heard great things about it. The jasmine was not as strong as some other tea shops in the area. Wait was super super long but the drinks were worth it I'd say. I got the matcha supreme and my friend got the coconut mango pomelo sago. Both were $7-8 including tax but the size is pretty large. Both drinks were not too sweet! The flavors of the coconut mango sago is a lot more robust than the matcha. The matcha was good quality but there are other places I'd rather get it than HeyTea. We love Hey Tea and have visited their Monterey Park and Asia locations multiple times. They have very novelty drinks made with quality ingredients. Some of our favorites include their Grape Boom, which has pieces of grape and grape slushy, and their matcha drinks like their Triple Matcha Latte and the Supreme Matcha Latte. The Monterey Park location specifically is the closest one to us. Although the drinks are always tasty, the service and lines make the experience somewhat more undesirable. We typically park across the street at the plaza parking lot, then cross the street to walk over. There is usually no curbside parking (the curb right in front of Hey Tea). We came during one of their busiest times, when they were running the matcha BOGO promo. There was a line out the door and all the way down the curb. We ordered online , at least 30 minutes ahead but when we arrived, there was a line just to pick up the drinks! Many of the people in the pickup line were those who had ordered after us or whose drinks weren't even ready. The workers take time to bag each drink, which is thoughtful but makes the wait times much longer. The store itself is very small and usually always crowded. We came once more when there was no promotion going on and the line and wait was shorter but similar. The drinks themselves are good. I recommend the matchas, which have a strong tea taste. Their new matcha drink has matcha mochi and jelly, but the mochi is too soft for my taste. They are on the more expensive side, around 7-8$ for a drink. Overall, we are big fans of Hey tea, but the lines and wait times are sometimes overwhelming. Each time we've gone, getting our drinks has taken sometimes an hour or an hour and a half. There is a plaza around the Hey Tea with a Daiso and food places, so could be convenient to wait while you shop. read more

I wanted to give this place a try as it's been quite popular. I would say it's alright. I got the cloud jasmine tea with matcha jelly and it was pretty good. The cloud jasmine tea was pretty standard and the cloud adds a nice cream similar to other cheese toppings. The matcha jelly was unique and went well with my drink. The flavor is definitely there and you can taste the matcha was the right amount of strength. I also liked that it was decently firm. The wait can be a bit long and it's more of a pick up and go place so there isn't any indoor seating if that's what you're looking for. It's great for walking around the plaza though or sitting outside. read more

My bf and I come here at least once a week and that's after exercising a lot of self control. Heytea is one of my fav milk tea chains in China and the store here in Monterey Park does not disappoint! The tea is so fragrant and the fruit boom drinks are like crack even though I normally don't like fruit tea drinks at all. Their boba is also the perfect texture and the cheese cloud is so good. It's also nice that you can customize a fair amount - besides sugar/ice, you can also select caffeine-free option for some drinks, which is good for caffeine-sensitive people who want heytea later in the day. We've tried so many drinks here and loved all of them, but there's a reason why you see everyone ordering the coconut mango boom, bc it's just that good. They are always SO busy - like minimum 50 drinks ahead of me every time I order, even on weekdays - so definitely download the app and order way ahead of time if you don't wanna wait. The app also has a pretty good reward points system. My only complaint is that sometimes there will be random drinks that take significantly longer than others due to some specific tea still brewing or running out of some ingredient (that you aren't aware of unless you ask). For example, several times I'd order something newer the menu while my bf ordered coconut mango boom, and his would be done according to the estimated time, but mine still wouldn't be done after an additional 30 min of waiting. You should just ask them why one drink is taking longer, bc the app won't tell you if they no longer have the ingredient to make your drink, so you could be waiting around forever. read more

Was in the area so decided to stop by. This location was wayyy more crowded (and also smaller) than the Rowland Heights one. You can order thru their app but sometimes they temporarily disable it when it's too crowded. There was a big crowd when we got there but found out there was no line to order. They have a tv screen displaying what drink orders are being made and which are available for pick up but it is also accessible via their app (and easier if you want to avoid crowding the small waiting area). I ordered the mango coconut boom 30% sweetness and it was the perfect refreshing drink for a hot day. There are fresh mango and coconut chunks in it and I opted to add their brown sugar boba which was chewy and slightly sweet.
