this is a popular boba tea and drinks location in monterey park. there are parking options in the garage downstairs. it is located across from the GW supermarket and many other restaurants and stores. there are options to purchase your order through the app, which may have some good deals if you join their rewards program, with the staff in the front, or with the kiosk on the side. the sq ft in the store is small so there may be a need to wait outside for your drinks. they can give you a cute paper bag if you order multiple drinks or request it. the service is nice and my drink tasted good. it was the coconut mango boom. i got it less sweet so it was perfect and light. read more

I wanted to give this place a try as it's been quite popular. I would say it's alright. I got the cloud jasmine tea with matcha jelly and it was pretty good. The cloud jasmine tea was pretty standard and the cloud adds a nice cream similar to other cheese toppings. The matcha jelly was unique and went well with my drink. The flavor is definitely there and you can taste the matcha was the right amount of strength. I also liked that it was decently firm. The wait can be a bit long and it's more of a pick up and go place so there isn't any indoor seating if that's what you're looking for. It's great for walking around the plaza though or sitting outside. read more

My bf and I come here at least once a week and that's after exercising a lot of self control. Heytea is one of my fav milk tea chains in China and the store here in Monterey Park does not disappoint! The tea is so fragrant and the fruit boom drinks are like crack even though I normally don't like fruit tea drinks at all. Their boba is also the perfect texture and the cheese cloud is so good. It's also nice that you can customize a fair amount - besides sugar/ice, you can also select caffeine-free option for some drinks, which is good for caffeine-sensitive people who want heytea later in the day. We've tried so many drinks here and loved all of them, but there's a reason why you see everyone ordering the coconut mango boom, bc it's just that good. They are always SO busy - like minimum 50 drinks ahead of me every time I order, even on weekdays - so definitely download the app and order way ahead of time if you don't wanna wait. The app also has a pretty good reward points system. My only complaint is that sometimes there will be random drinks that take significantly longer than others due to some specific tea still brewing or running out of some ingredient (that you aren't aware of unless you ask). For example, several times I'd order something newer the menu while my bf ordered coconut mango boom, and his would be done according to the estimated time, but mine still wouldn't be done after an additional 30 min of waiting. You should just ask them why one drink is taking longer, bc the app won't tell you if they no longer have the ingredient to make your drink, so you could be waiting around forever. read more

I got the Mango Coconut Boom and thought it was mediocre for a $6.99 drink. Their other teas look good and I got matcha jelly on the side since it sounds good. However I was most disappointed at the service, because my number was shown on the tv, I showed the lady at the counter my receipt and she said she has my drink ready, but she still proceeded to wipe all the other drinks and tend to others before me when I was there first and waited for a very long time. Is it because I don't speak mandarin?? I also noticed that she was messing around with her coworker and purposely dropped a cap to throw at her.. Was in the area so decided to stop by. This location was wayyy more crowded (and also smaller) than the Rowland Heights one. You can order thru their app but sometimes they temporarily disable it when it's too crowded. There was a big crowd when we got there but found out there was no line to order. They have a tv screen displaying what drink orders are being made and which are available for pick up but it is also accessible via their app (and easier if you want to avoid crowding the small waiting area). I ordered the mango coconut boom 30% sweetness and it was the perfect refreshing drink for a hot day. There are fresh mango and coconut chunks in it and I opted to add their brown sugar boba which was chewy and slightly sweet. Overall the drink was good and there are other drinks I want to try out but I might try a different location to avoid the crowds. read more

I've been to Hey Tea twice now, most recently a few days ago for the BOGO deal on their new Triple Supreme Matcha Latte. It wasn't a great experience because of how long the wait was. I also felt bad for the staff who were overwhelmed and super backed up with orders. The drink itself was very underwhelming. The matcha quality wasn't there, and the toppings were just okay. On a different visit, I tried the Coconut Mango Boom, which was really good. The coconut was creamy and the mango was fresh (they're both in season). The toppings also really complement the drink. I can see the baristas taking their time to prepare the drink, with a good balance of foam, cocoa powder and the milk tea itself. The drink itself was very flavorful, with a more subtle taste of the chocolate and cream to imitate a tiramisu! I did get it on the sweeter side, with the only thing I would like to see is a slightly less sweet version, as the sweetness is either full on or at least half. Quality tea with fresh fruit!! Always love a sweet treat and when in the area, there are a plethora of boba options to choose from. I noticed there was quite a few places opening boasting quality teas, so was excited to try out Heytea. It's located in an apartment plaza (?) area, with the storefront on the main street with some street parking. There is plenty of underground parking too, though. The store is quite small and I've seen pictures of the line out the door, but we came on a Sunday afternoon with no wait :) Their menu is impressive with tons of options for the boba milk tea OGs, matcha lovers, and fresh fruit fans. They even have the option to remake your drink if you're not satisfied with it! We ordered for the fam, so got to try their milk tea, mango coconut, mango grapefruit, and matcha. Ordered all of them with regular sweetness and regular ice, and while I usually don't like too sweet desserts, my fave was the mango grapefruit. The mango's natural sweetness was 100/10!! The milk tea is thick and creamy. The matcha doesn't have as strong matcha flavor than other dedicated cafes but still delicious! read more

I like the sago and jasmine tea here because it has strong floral flavor and the sago texture is good but there's always something with their logistics. I've had instances where they mark drinks as ready when they're really not because they ran out of matcha cloud and needed to make more, packed the wrong size straw, and recently the app said my order was ready but the cashier said no and it turns out my drink was sitting on the counter the whole time. The fruit tasted fresh and it wasn't too much of a slushy texture which was great. The mango taste was stronger than the grapefruit. It was $9 for a large which is a bit pricey but I would say it's pretty worth the hype. The shop is small but they seem pretty efficient. I came around 6pm on a Saturday and there was only about 1-2 people in front. Order online is available which is convenient. I would definitely come back and try the other drinks.
