Service was fast and attentive. Andrea was on point during my visit. I ALWAYS appreciate service with a smile! The atmosphere was joyful and the music was upbeat. I had a feeling that the fries would be really good when I walked by earlier and they did NOT disappoint! I could have had more. I would come back just for the fries. I am purely basing this review on the amazing fellowship and service at the bar area. Although.....I did see some of the bbq and mac n cheese and it looked pretty good and got a good report from one of the other patrons at the bar. They reportedly do have a smoker there to smoke the meats and I would expect that the bbq is probably the best you could get in an airport; especially when associated with the great Kent Rathbun. I was early for my flight in terminal B and Hickory by Kent Rathbun was right beside my flight gate. I decided to have a cold beverage at the bar and I am so glad that I did. How else would I have met the most awesome Amanda, Bartender Extraordinaire! She made the experience so fun and we had really nice conversation even as she was able to serve others and stay so busy. Order the Hickory burger. It's actually quite tasty. The hamburger here was pretty good despite the lackluster appearance. It was fresh and had really good flavor. The fries are lame so chose something else. The waiters are considerate too if you are crunched on time and put in a rush to your orders. EDIT: The server didn't notice hardly eating anything on the sandwich, but says she'd have her manager come by and take a look at that. The manager came by and constantly questioned everything I said about the burger, being cold and hard patty. Said his server said I ate most of the meal and then kept asking questions about what was wrong with the fruit? That's in reference to the menu saying for the breakfast menu, you can have a choice of fruit or hashbrowns as my wife ordered the fruit. They also charged us additional money saying that the fruit is a sub and there's a charge, which is not what the menu says. Please be smarter than I and do not ever eat at this location. They give Dallas a bad name and the hard-working restaurant workers at good establishments. I have stopped here in the Dallas airport several times over the past five years or so and unfortunately, it keeps getting worse every time. Both the food and the service is subpar. For service, they ask you if you're in a hurry or not as if you're on island time somewhere and you must be honest because if you don't know, you will be waiting a long time. Besides the wait, the service itself is lackluster and needs significant improvement. My burger I received was a cold hard patty with tasteless potato salad. It's never good when both things are not working well and when you just want to grab a good bite and sit for a bit in the airport, you'd expect a little more from a restaurant like this. 50 feet away is a new Portillo's and probably for less money would've had a significantly better meal. Save your money and skip this joint. I won't ever be coming back. read more

Came here for lunch while I was at DFW airport! I'm not quite sure if this is considered legit Texas BBQ, but I personally liked the food and didn't find it to be too heavy. I ordered the beef brisket plate and it came with two slices of brisket, BBQ sauce and a side salad. I added some fries as well, plus a drink. It all added up to around $30, which is quite reasonably priced for airport food (at least compared to California!). The service was great, as my waiter even brought me a different type of BBQ sauce to try and anticipated my drink refills before I even got a chance to ask for one! I got 3 smoked chicken tacos - $20ish, and worth less than $1.00!!! You get three corn tortillas that taste like nothing and some coleslaw less the mayo, and for the Smoked Chicken, non-existent!! I had just run across the DFW airport to catch a flight that I just missed. #notarunner. I stopped by to grab a bite since I had 6 hours to burn but was struggling to breath and felt sick. Andrea W was so sweet and took such good care of me. She brought me water until I could recover and checked on me multiple times to make sure I was ok and kept me supplied with water. The grilled cheese was yummy if you like grilled cheese and tomato (which I do!) and the fries were tasty too. Highly recommend due to the awesome customer service and will be back next time I'm in DFW. read more

I had the opportunity to eat here last Sunday, at the location near terminal B, after a very stressful travel date, we had gotten through half of our travel day and I needed a place to sit and relax which my mom who I had been pushing in a wheelchair. The hostess was very friendly and immediately accommodating, found us a place to sit and relax where I could also see the game. We ordered our meal and enjoyed greatly. We both got the hickory burger, my mom got hers with potato salad and mine with sweet potato fries. We also ordered a side of Mac and cheese and had the bread pudding dessert with ice cream. No regrets. It was great and left me sad that I would only try this place again the next time I am at the Dallas airport. read more

Worst breakfast possibly ever! My food arrived cold and was given uncooked bacon. It was quick so wonder if it was already on counter waiting to be served. I had the Ranch Hardy. I told a few nice enough employees, but all seemed clueless as I might have been speaking French. They did correct the bacon with the sausage I originally ordered and it was the best thing on plate. Places like this in DFW airport do not have to compete due to location so unfortunately travelers have to pay. In the end I paid for meal and won't be back. read more

This was a decent place, though the food was hit and miss. Service: Odd greeting from the server seating people. You order on an app and they bring it out to you. It asks you to tip immediately. The server became friendly, and I wish they didn't do pre-payment on the app because I would have tipped her more. I asked her after I ordered to ask the chef if they can give me a fatty piece of brisket since that has the most flavor. And they really took that to heart. The fountain drinks were flat or improperly mixed Coke. Tasted horrible. The server replaced it with a bottle. The brisket was over salted, and possibly over smoked/cooked, but edible. The mac and cheese was a watery sauce with some bacon and cheddar cheese melted on top by microwave. It came with some Texas Toast and pickles. I couldn't get the Wi-Fi to work in the restaurant. I honestly was very impressed with this airport restaurant, the caliber of the staff is better than even any regular outside restaurant I have been into.
