Carson was great and the 50/50 was good everyone seemed to have a great time. Only take aways. How can you run out of Miller Lite, big tables need 2 cheese shakers, and your window blinds on the west side need to more dense to block the sun better. No one wants to be blinded durning dinner if the only chair available to you faces the window, and a free cookie ice cream thing would have been a cool FREE happy Birthday gift. I was very happy and impressed a manager did walk around and ask how things were. I am a manager as well so I know the importance of it. The actual food was OK but what turn the experience awful is my credit card information being stolen and used at another location at the Moore Hideaway, I did file fraud charges, but don't understand why my information was not protected by this establishment. Love that this is a MIO restaurant (carry local ingredients made in Oklahoma). The pizza was delicious! Loved their crust!! One of our kids ordered the ATW, and the other one did a custom pizza. I ordered a small mushroom and a root beer float. My husband had the chicken parm sandwich and said it was good. The chips were hand cut and fresh. So yummy! Our server Andrew took great care of us and we had a wonderful meal with friends. The only thing that took a little longer was being seated but they said they were short staffed. We visited this location on a Friday night at 7:30 and had no wait. The waitress was attentive yet not overbearing. Appetizer 50/50 fried mushrooms and mozzarella sticks with ranch dressing and marinara dipping sauces. The mushrooms had a slight kick tasting almost like a Cajun seasoning. The mozzarella sticks had a nice breading layer, with even and thick cheese inside. The downside is that the ratio is not 50/50 there are 4 sticks and a bowl full of mushrooms. The Pizza! We ordered a medium thin crust pizza with house red sauce and 1/2 mushrooms, black olives, artichoke hearts, Roma tomatoes, 1/2 pepperoni, jalapeño, pineapple. Including mozzarella cheese. On the create your own - you can choose everything - the crust, the sauce, the toppings and the the cheese. The sauce is the best aspect - it has a sweet yet rich flavor. The pizza was good, perhaps we were idealistic as it is better than fast food but not the kind of pizza I would crave to eat next time I visit OKC. Always great food and service! I've had several items off the menu and pizza and apps never disappoint.

I'm a huge fan of the ATW pizza and the Greek Salad. Went at lunch, got there before noon so no waiting, but it's a busy place. There is plenty of free parking and they have space with an upstairs. I don't know if they have an elevator but I would think they would otherwise their upper wait staff will have really bad knees. Service was stellar and professional. Food hot pizza and cold salad served timely. I never turn down an opportunity to go to Hideaway. read more

Review # 50 Today, 9 February 2019, is National Pizza Day; so of course I went to have pizza for dinner. Location: This Hideaway Pizza (HA) is on the corner of Western Ave and NW 50th Street in NW OKC, OK. It's south of I-44. Hours: Sun-Thurs: 11am-930pm; Fri-Sat; 11am-1030pm Food: Besides pizza, HA offers the standard American fare like fried mozzarella, fried mushrooms, fried pickles, garlic cheesy bread, garlic knots, meatballs, wings, boneless wings, baked cheesy shrooms; then not so basic like fried ravioli. After all these fried food offerings, one needs healthier options like baked pasta, sandwiches, and salads. They offer desserts as well, but I haven't tried any. Pizza: Now to their namesake, HA has 20 different specialty pizzas, and build your own. They offer the typical toppings: meats, cheeses, veggies, fruit (pineapple and mandarin oranges), balsamic glaze, and Parmesan-herb Shake. Their sauces consist of red sauce, BBQ, alfredo, olive oil, garlic glaze, and pesto (nut-free). Pizza Sizes: HA has a 10-inch small that feeds about 1-2 people, if both people are on a diet, right! For me a small feeds me if I haven't eaten all day. But I try to eat only half and save the rest for leftovers. A 12-inch medium that serves 2-3 people, and a 15-inch that serves 3-4 people. Crusts: They offer a thin crust, hand tossed, and gluten-free, which is the only reason I'm able to eat here. But as usual for gluten-free (GF) peeps it's only offered in the 10-inch small at $3 more! Ouch!! It's a good thing for me as I don't need to spend more money on pizza, but not so good if you're throwing a Super Bowl or pizza party. Today on National Pizza Day was my second time eating at this location, and both times I sat at the bar to watch basketball. On my first visit I ordered the Paradise Pie specialty with GF crust. It has alfredo sauce, mozzarella, spinach, Roma tomatoes, mushrooms, bacon, grilled chicken, and provolone cheese. It was really good and a nice break from frozen pizza in the grocery store. The chicken was a bit dry but still very good. Today I ordered the MAUI Magic which has HA red sauce, mozzarella cheese, Canadian bacon, pineapple, and mandarin oranges. This is the first pizza place I've been to that offers mandarin oranges, and I love them, so it was delicious along with one of my favorite fruits, pineapple. The only thing I didn't like was their HA red sauce, as it almost tasted like pasta sauce out of a jar. As the sauce is the staple of a pizza, it can make or break it, as it's tasted with every bite and difficult to rub off. I'm sure others love it, but next time I'll get a pizza with a different sauce. Drinks: Typical sodas, beer, wine, cocktails. My first visit I got the White Sangria, which was supposed to have orange and pineapple chunks in it, but the only fruit was an orange wedge on the rim of my glass. It tasted watered down and the ice made it more watery. So I only got water to drink this last visit. My first time at a Hideaway Pizza was their Automobile Alley location in Midtown OKC back in December 2018. I got the Big Country pizza and it was incredible, but I'll review that location later. Service: The service was lacking in response times on both occasions, but there were plenty of employees around not helping. Maybe they were all on a break at the same time and the Bartenders/waitresses were doing double duty for them, as when they were back in the bar area, they both were attentive. Design: This location is a two-story building with a bar on the 1st floor to the back and tables to the front, surrounded by large TV's. The bar area has 3 TV's. I love the new Hideaway Pizza location. Spacious setting and very attentive staff. We started our meal with yummy Octoberfest pretzel. It was a delightful appetizer to ride us over until our pizza was ready. We ordered a large hand tossed Cimarron pizza. It arrived warm and loaded with cheese and delicious ingredients. We were only able to eat half of the pizza while there. We boxed up the rest to take home and munch on the next day. This location is two stories with ample seating for groups of all sizes. I have no idea how many times I've eaten at Hideaway, and never really expected to write a review. I mean, sure, they're better than Pizza Hut, Mazzio's, Domino's, etc., but I tend to lean toward Neapolitan-style pizzas. I probably don't give Hideaway enough credit. That said, I've never been disappointed or unhappy after eating one of their pies. I stopped by their newest location on NW 50th and Western last night for a meeting. The organizers ordered a variety pizzas and while they all looked good, I went for slices of pepperoni and chicken Alfredo. One thing I do love and appreciate about Hideaway is they know how to bake a pizza. There's almost always a little char on the crust, and the bottom is browned well. Too many other places leave the bottom underdone. If there are many toppings, it just falls apart. Not here. A good crust is critical to a pepperoni. This was great. The sauce was tasty and the pepperonis were crisp. I've had the chicken Alfredo before, but they really nailed this one. There were just enough bacon crumbles to kick it to the next level. It helps that they appear to use quality toppings. I didn't have any last night, but I have to give a shout out to their fried mushrooms and mozzarella sticks. If you're smart, you'll get the 50/50 so you can have both. I love mushrooms pretty much any way they're fixed. These are good. The mozzarella sticks are outstanding; probably my favorites. It would be bad of me to not mention their staff. I've never had a bad experience. Everyone has always been friendly, and happy to bring refills, more ranch and marinara. Kind of bummed with the experience overall. They might have been having a rough night but they weren't too worried about it. We called ahead and ordered our pies for take out. Showed up 35 minutes later when they said they would be ready. After that we waited. And waited and waited. Finally about 20 mins they had them done. I got a small apology like "sorry about the wait" and that was that. Usually wouldn't mention it but the person before me had a similar experience and he complained as well. Then while I was waiting someone else called to complain and the person answering the phones told the whole staff and they didn't seem to worried. Top of all off and the pizza was just fine. I really love the sausage they use and the crust never makes me have pizza regret. The cheese is piled high as are the other toppings. This is a new location which replaced the older location around Western and Fenwick Ave. Everything is so nice and new! Bigger and better! Even their parking lot is so much better! No more backing up on Western Ave praying you won't get rear ended! They have the same menu, same food, everything just a bigger and better atmosphere! There is an upstairs and the place is huge great for a larger party meeting. I've been to so many local pizza places across the metro and had more dominos and papa johns pizza than i'm willing to admit. The best by far is hideaway! They use just the right amount of sauce, cheese and their crusts are so fresh. Even if you aren't a bread person I promise you that you'll fall in love with this pizza! We always opt for a large pizza and split it to pepperoni and pineapple. I'm the pineapple fan and my pineapples are so fresh! They never taste like nasty canned dole pineapples they're just good. I eat at least 3 slices of pizza and feel like a stuffed pig walking out of hideaway every. single. time.! A few of my favorites are the Pepperonipalooza (Red sauce, mozzarella, our traditional pepperoni, cup 'n' curl pepperoni, and deli pepperoni, topped with our Parmesan-herb shake), Sicilian (Olive oil and garlic glaze, sausage, Italian sausage, mozzarella, pepperoni, Genoa salami, provolone, topped with red sauce and our Parmesan-herb shake) and the Boz (Red sauce, mozzarella and cheddar cheese, pepperoni, smoked bacon, sausage, red bell peppers and jalapeños). Also, they carry "Cup and Curl Pepperoni" otherwise known as "Old World Pepperoni" where the small pepperoni curls up and it's my all-time favorite topping! I personally call it "Contact Lens Pepperoni" because they look like huge contact lenses, lol. This particular location is two stories, clean, modern, and my favorite location. I love Hideaway Pizza. I adore their gluten free pizza, because it's uber crispy. Yes, it's $3 more and only comes in only 10" size, but it's what I want!!! I am not Gf though, just like the crust. I love the fact that they have anchovies. And they will make your pizza your way! Tonight I ordered a glass of the Malbec and I saw that they have truly big pours. We sat upstairs (it's two floors) and looked out over the city. It was cool. They also have big tv's for sports lovers. I really enjoyed the bright ambience. They have wonderful fried mushrooms. But if like me, you can resist everything except temptation & pizza, Hideaway Pizza will be your favorite pizzeria anywhere!!! Everything is just right. Loads of great tasting toppings: check. Great, zesty sauce: check. Excellent crusts, thick or thin: check. One time, they discovered a problem with my order, they made new pizzas to suit the order correctly and gave us the incorrect ones for free. So great service and super customer-friendly. The worst Hideaway experience ever. It was our first visit to the two-story establishment. It will be our last. We were seated. It took at least ten minutes before we got up to flag someone to get our drink order. Of all the people to do it, it was the manager. Meanwhile, there are other five wait staffers at the front just standing around and talking. The manager acted uninterested, and he and other workers were more focused on watching the football game than taking care of us. The traditional wings tasted like they had expired; the cheese bread was wet and soggy and tasted like crap. The Greek salad was good but it's hard to mess up a salad. It took over fifteen minutes after we were done eating to get our check, and again that was the result of us getting up to ask for it. Hideaway on Western needs to take lessons from the Hideaway in Moore. Never a bad experience there. read more

Nice atmosphere at the new two story location on Western, polite servers, best Caesar salad I've had in a while but the chicken breast on it was dry & overly salty. I'm writing this as a Hideaway patron of 10+ years because I hope they continue to prosper. The garlic bread appetizer or "starter" has a nice flavor but is HARD, not crispy crust with a soft interior, also - it comes with pasta dishes and we weren't told that so we might have ordered mushrooms or wings instead. We would not order the lasagna or "adult" cheesy mac again - very disappointing!! The macaroni was undercooked, not even al dente - the cheese sauce on it was gluey & tasted highly processed - almost like some commodity issue or block Velveta. The lasagna was advertised with an Italian sausage marinara sauce but I couldn't detect the flavor of it and couldn't visually see any sign of meat whether it was puréed into the sauce or not it just didn't taste like it used to. The server here is stretched pretty thin, my dinner date had to get refills at the bar and 15 mins after paying we are still waiting on take home boxes. This location is new so I'll give them a year or two to work out the kinks but I feel a bit cheated for dropping $40+ on sub par dining. read more

The fried mushrooms are excellent but lackluster service....... Call and order, told it will be 40 minutes, arrive promptly and wait another 30....for NUTHIN! A tried and true Oklahoma classic. Fast and friendly service if you dine in. OR, delish pizza that is awfully tasty a day later in the fridge if you take out. (Yay, cold pizza for breakfast). You can't go wrong with the hamburger pizza, but if you're feeling brave then the Big Country option is the way to go (meat, meat, and more meat). I've always had great service at Hideaway but the food has never been that great. The fried mushroom appetizer is my favorite thing on the menu. I usually get a small pepperoni thin crust. The hand tossed crust is not very good. It's way too much breaking. I tried the pasta once since I don't really like the pizza. It was awful! I won't make that mistake again. So I will just keep getting the thin crust pizza whenever my coworkers decide hideaway for lunch. read more

If you have a disability they will discriminate and tell you to sit on the porch, they don't tolerate service dogs in the building but will happily make you sit in the heat, regardless of your heart condition because they do NOT want your MEDICAL EQUIPMENT inside the building. They talked to me in a way I've never experienced in my time of having a service dog, being treated so poorly, made me feel very unwelcome, the ADA will be contacted. And I will be reporting this location/business for discrimination, UPDATE they are fixing it all and I'm so grateful for them making it right. read more

Food was acceptable, but service was awful. We were seated immediately on a Sunday night in a busy section. Multiple TVs available kept us distracted for the 20 minutes between being seated and getting the server to acknowledge us. Drinks (water and soda) took another 15 minutes and two requests to arrive. Alfredo deluxe pasta and chicken Caesar salad were good and at appropriate temperatures another 18 min later. We are loyal Hideaway fans and ere stoked for the new construction closer to our house. Just maybe suggesting to management to be selective on who they transfer to the new spot. read more
