Went to Hideaway pizza because it was close to where we were staying in Princeville. It's a large restaurant and they seated our big party immediately. The food came out rather quick although they are short staffed like most of the island. They bring out waters as soon as you get seated which is nice after a hot day at the beach. I ordered a Mai Tai and would consider it average. We also got an order of mozzarella sticks and they were slightly above average (came with 8 sticks). For food the table split a 16 inch Hawaiian pizza, a 16 inch rooster, and a 16 inch Italian. The Italian pizza came out first and was really good. My only critique is that the dough was rather floppy. The rooster pizza was my favorite and was very crisp and delicious. I wasn't a fan of the Hawaiian pizza mainly due to the dough and macadamia nuts. They do have a really good house made ranch that I recommend getting (cost $3 extra). Overall I liked the service and ambiance. The food wasn't stand out but it was solid and quick. I'd come back after a long day at the beach but wouldn't go out of my way to make it a Kauai staple. read more

Came here for dinner with my family since it was recommended. The pizza itself was not bad, pricey for what it was! However, this place lacks life, the ambience is that of an old restaurant that management just doesn't seem to care on the upkeep. The service was even worse, took forever to get service, once the food arrived the server didn't bother to come check on us at all. We had someone else take over our table but we were never informed that we had a new waiter. Lastly, my wife found sand at the bottom of her beer glass, yes, 'sand'!! Avoid!!! We arrived and ordered a pizza and told they were short staffed and to come back in an hour and a half to pick it up. Apparently all the servers took the day off which seems a to be a recurring theme in these reviews. That should have been our first red flag. When we came back, there was no record of us having ordered the pizza. Once the owner finally found it mismarked as a "dine in" order in their system, we decided we had to try something else with our hungry kids. We asked to cancel the order and he said he was able to do this with no problem, yet he was unable to produce a receipt of cancellation. I just checked my credit card a week later, sometimes these things take time, and had been charged the full amount with no refund. Going through the dispute process with the credit card company now. B's restaurant down the street had a delicious wood-fired pizza ready for us within 10 minutes after leaving Hideaways. read more

Just arrived in Kauai yesterday and we were tired and hungry. We decided to return to Hideaways Pizza to eat and relax. We were treated by Sandra, a bubbly, positive server. She seated us at our favorite booth and we tasted a couple beers and then ordered two Lagers, a large Greek Salad to share and a large Italian Job pizza (we were hungry). The salad was large enough for two with fresh tasty ingredients. The pizza arrived piping hot and was delicious, perfectly prepared and baked. It has tomato sauce, whole garlic cloves, roasted red peppers, Kalamata olives, mozzarella cheese, and fresh basil. The bottom of the crust was a beautiful golden brown, and the edge just the right amount of crunch. So this spot here we've been passing by Hideaways Pizza Pub since we arrived here Kauai. It's tucked away in Princeville were our family is staying. We kept saying we'd like to some food here. So we did I was so surprised walking in a beautiful Resturant First when you walk in you see a nice freshwater fish tank with lots beautiful fish. beautiful wood thru out the Resturant very comfy place Our server was Joey he's soooo nice to his customers And walk up with 10 of us we called first to rsvp a table with no problem Hideaway pub opens for dinner No problem we're sitted at great table window all on 1 wall it can get dark in there There natural light does come in We had pizza & salads here with beers & wine We all enjoy the pizzas Salad were fresh my daughter & share a entree with roasted beets and goat cheese very fresh, we enjoyed every bite We tried the Hawaiian pizza, blanco, cheese pizza and meat lovers to the pizza's have good flavor & thin crust done right here we had no macadamia on it Greek salad came that was good too! BEST pizza I've had in a very long time, and my half house salad was so fresh it might have been recently picked! I had the Garden Island pizza. The fresh pillowy dough was spread with flavorful olive oil pesto and topped with YUMMY veggies, feta cheese, and raw baby spinach--Wow! I enjoyed the leftover pizza the next day and it was good then, too! The waitress was very prompt and attentive and service good. The dining room was too hot for me; apparently no AC and all the heat from the pizza oven made it uncomfortable. But the view was lovely from this second floor restaurant over the resort gardens and a small slice of the ocean which helped make up for the heat. Just a note--you will have to be able to climb stairs to get to the restaurant as I did not see any elevator. Parking is also a bit challenging, but it's all worth it to enjoy this delicious place!!! read more

We've been coming here for many years and have noticed that the pizzas are getting "crustier" with less toppings and more bread. Very tranquil spot. We are here on a Thursday night and it was not busy at all. Seemed to only have one waitress taking care of about 8 tables spread across the establishment. This seemed to slow the speed of service down just a little bit. However, the food was good. Mozzarella sticks were very good and I didn't even take a picture of the pizza because I was so excited to eat it. That should tell you something haha. Maybe slightly overpriced in my estimation but you do somewhat expect that here in Princeville. $35 for a medium pizza (14' I believe). Vibes were great. Pretty good pizza restaurant in Princeville Town overall, though it is hidden away in a condo community. They are only open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday (5-10 PM), though when I dined in, it was not too busy at all. Most other people came in to pick up their phone take-out orders. Saw a couple other families dining in at the same time as me. Nice setting, views, and relaxing atmosphere at Hideaways Pizza Pub. I had their 10 inch veggie pizza and a lemonade drink, and I thought the food was delicious and the service was pretty good (staff was consistent about refilling my water glass). As expected, prices are rather expensive but then again, this is in a wealthier private neighborhood and there are not a lot of dining options within this immediate area. read more

This is a mixed review because we had a mixed experience. First, this place is hot and muggy inside so I would recommend taking your pizza home or to the beach. Next, there were no local beers. Since there are 3 local breweries on the island, it would be nice to have at least one local option. On the pizzas, the Rooster was just so so. Cheddar is not a good cheese for pizza and it did nothing for this pie. However, we also had half Sautéed Spinach and Pear and half Italian Job. Both were terrific. Just walking into the pub 4 different people were RAVING about the pizza. They were not wrong.. it was SO GOOD! When I originally was looking up pizza on the North Shore I saw it had a 3.8... WRONG.. it's 5's across the board. James provided great service & was attentive to our table & our needs! The whole restaurant was a cool, calm, collected vibe with a great playlist! I have to rave about the Hawaiian pizza.. the macadamia nuts on the pizza was a pleasant surprise, even people who refuse to eat warm pineapple were swooning over this pizza. Hideaways literally means hidden away. Challenging to find in the dark. If you use the satellite map, the restaurant is right next to the pool. Nice little restaurant with minimal modern decor. They are very busy with takeout orders so your dine in experience may take a bit, even if the restaurant seems fairly empty with guests. We chose an app to start which came out quickly. The mozzarella sticks were great but the presentation needs some work. We also ordered the cranberry & pear salad (small size). The pears were diced, not sliced and the salad had quite a bit of dressing, but overall is delicious. We also ordered the 10 inch supreme pizza with gluten free crust ($3 up charge). The crust is very thin with the perfect amount of crispness. The pizza was great! Asked for a side of ranch which costs $3 extra and is very watered down (not worth it). For drinks we had a Stella on tap (which could have been a little colder but hit the spot) and two glasses of Malbec red wine. The Malbec was listed at $6 a glass on the menu but we were charged $15 (which was the listed bottle price). We had already paid our bill when we brought the error to the attention of the staff. We were told it is $15 a glass and $60 a bottle for the Malbec and was wrong on the menu. We were not offered a reconciliation of the bill or even a discount on our next order. Paying an extra $18 than expected due to the error of the restaurant with no offer the correct their mistake, is very off putting. Especially when asked, "you didn't really think you were getting a glass of Malbec for $6 did you?" Umm yes, yes I did, since that is what was stated on your menu... We had no problem paying all the up fees for things as they were stated in the menu or told to us beforehand, but paying for something that was clearly listed differently on their menu with no offer to right their wrong or even a thank you for pointing out their mistake, is just bad business. After seeing my disappointment, the bartender did say he would take care of us next time as long as he was working. I appreciate the gesture but management should have stepped up when he brought it to their attention. SMH Also, do not pay attention to the menus they have on Yelp as they are outdated. They only serve pizza, salad, and a couple apps. No pasta dishes. Although, they do have a full bar (but watch out for the menu price misprints). read more

Check your bank transactions after eating here. We ordered a 10" pizza and a coke and got charged $106. Took 3 in person visits, 3 e-mails and many unanswered phone calls to get our refund 12 days later. After being seated we waited forever for someone to take our order. The waitress was walking around with waters and passed us over and over. Then we waited forever to get a small pizza and a coke. The bartender took our order finally. When we were ready to pay, the waitress walked by us 3 times to clear tables and wipe them down even though the restaurant was not busy... and said she would be right with us. Never did come back. The bartender ended up checking us out. All around the restaurant people were waiting for their food for a very long time. No re-fills besides water. The bartender was nice but overall we would never come back here. We finally got our refund after trying for 12 days. Very thankful he did but you get worried when it takes that long after a bad experience. read more

I had my first ever pineapple on pizza experience here (controversial I know) but it was amazing. My friend got the Hawaiian pizza, the waiter made it known the pineapple was fresh, however the macadamia nuts weren't quite how I'd prefer. The staff was awesome and kept our glasses of water filled, which is nice after spending the day on the beach. This restaurant has an spectacular view with long opened windows that captured you as you ate. As a Italian lover myself, I'd rank this high if you like a thick crust pizza.
