I used to go to 5th Street at least once every two weeks. However, because of all the construction on Main Street it just got to be too difficult. I would not recommend 5th Street Patio for breakfast. We waited 40 minutes for a simple order of eggs, and it was obvious they were struggling with organization and keeping ticket orders straight. Service was slow and disorganized from start to finish. Even basic things like salt and pepper weren't on the table. When my breakfast finally arrived, my roommate still had to wait another 10 minutes for hers. Unfortunately, her order was also wrong. Instead of fixing it smoothly, they brought out another plate of my breakfast--which I had already received--while still forgetting the grits she had ordered as a substitute for the potatoes. Long waits can happen when a restaurant is busy, but poor communication, mixed-up orders, and lack of organization made the experience frustrating. If you're looking for a great homestyle breakfast in Frisco, Depot Cafe is still the gold standard. The food is consistently delicious, the service is efficient, and it's well worth going there instead. read more

Very clean nice cafe vibe in what seems like an old house. Greeted with smiles & welcome in. Coffee& water all around, self serve which some times is nice. Some of the set up felt like a hotel buffet. I had biscuits and gravy with eggs & side of crispy bacon, Katrina had pancakes. It was flavorful and fresh. Suggestion on biscuits and gravy. Those biscuits are huge, so one biscuit would have been better. Or if two biscuits y'all need to put way more gravy. Half way through the plate it was very dry. Just my opinion & it was a great meal. Treated myself to a favorite spot for breakfast after having some fasting bloodwork. Why am I always so hungry in the morning when they tell me I can't eat? Anyways, this place never disappoints. Cute spot tucked away near downtown Frisco, and staff is always friendly. Blueberry pancakes (so fluffy) and crispy bacon for me! 5th Street is a quaint neighborhood eatery. Decent ambiance. Self service, but prices for tea are ridiculous. They provide a tea bag and the basics for you to self serve sweetener and milk. That is 4.06 for a tea bag, water and sweetener. The tea bag is from a box of 25 commonly found at target or Walmart. Other than the overpriced tea they're worth a visit for a quaint family restaurant to eat and create good memories with family and friends. read more

Such a cute cafe on 5th street! This was recommend to me by the hotel staff during my visit to Dallas. The cafe is open seating and does not have a reservation system. When walking in, you'll order your food first, grab your drinks and the servers will being the good to your table. Our food didn't take long at all to arrive after ordering. The egg whites were lightly cooked when I asked for them to be fried well done. The chicken was overcooked but still edible. Pancakes and waffle was very good. My curse grits were ok, I would've preferred the cheese be melted and the grits to be cooked a little more, they were thick. Overall very cute cafe to visit for quick eating! Wonderful neighborhood counter order cafe! The restaurant at looks like it was a Victorian home converted to a restaurant. There's plenty of seating, prices were reasonable, and the food was delicious! If I knew, I would have looked at the menu or Yelp pictures a bit long. Had people behind us in line, not a fan of wasting anyone's time. Good first visit. Plan to have many more. If you work from home you can bring your computer. We got here between 9am and 9:30am. No one rushing you out. Maybe you can get a little work done while having breakfast. This place is dog friendly. We've been coming here for years for the great food and fast service. Big failure on service today, as they overlooked our ticket and it wasn't until I went to the cashier after a 30 minute wait to ask about it that they worked on it. I found this little spot while looking for good chilaquiles! And I found them! I loved the green salsa , very flavorful, also the portion was very generous, it comes with sour cream, cheese, avocado and I chose chicken to top it off (obviously eggs)!!! Went there for the first time friday and the food was so gross!!! a simple tomato basil soup which tasted days old and out of a can it was more a pink paste than soup! i also got the chicken cesesar salad and omg the chicken was fake grilled rubber or days old! the dressing was sour and again tasted like it was out of a can. the lettuce was the only decent thing. I had eaten there once before so I recommended it to a friend. I ordered their special which was a shrimp basket. Instead of the french fries, I asked for their tomato soup. The 5 little shrimp were more like snack size, and the tomato soup came in a very small bowl. This was their meager presentation. I was left still hungry. This cost $12.99 for the shrimp and $3.50 for the iced tea. I would have been embarrassed to serve this to a customer. It really is a cute little place and has good reviews. I arrived at the right time. There were many open spots in their small parking lot shared with several other businesses. When I entered, a customer had just finished ordering. I quickly browsed the menu on the wall and ordered the Captain Crunch French Toast. After grabbing the utensils and coffee, I decided to eat on the patio. The coffee was slightly bitter but still drinkable. After I saw the bottom of the cup did my order arrive. Because it was slightly pre-sweetened, I assumed no additional syrup came with it. Later, I noticed nearby tables pouring syrup from unmarked bottles. I did notice these unmarked bottles next to marked bottles of mustard and ketchup. I just did not know what was the brown goop inside them. As I said, the Captain Crunch French Toast was slightly pre-sweetened with syrup which prevented it from being too dry. The three slices of toast and the several pieces of blueberries and strawberries was enough to satisfy my hunger. I had some amusement picking up the individual pieces of cereal with my fork. Although I was eyeing the andouille sausage, any additional food would have been excessive. By the time I left, the restaurant was starting to get packed. Fifth Street patio Café is a quaint place to eat in downtown Frisco. With hippie ambience and its wide variety on the menu, I definitely think this is a place to not miss. Came here for the dog friendly patio,unfortunately,that's maybe only one of 3 perks for this restaurant. The food was presented very well,but lacked in flavor and actual temperature. My cheese in my cheese grits weren't even melted! The chilaquiles lacked spice and the corned beef just didn't do it for me. I liked how it was cut from an actual beef brisket instead of the kind from a can,so that was a plus. Another plus is the big protion size. The coffee dispensers had a lot of roast flavors,but they make me feel like I am in a hotel getting complimentary continental coffee before I head out of the door. First time here in a long time. We splurged and ordered a few of our favorites: the chocolate chip pancakes and the bananas foster French toast. They weren't busy, but it seemed to take longer than expected to get our food. My French toast could've used a little more banana, but the flavor was amazing. My wife's pancakes looked and tasted great. Apparently, a pancake on the bottom got folded over and didn't meet the owner's quality standard, so she brought my wife an extra pancake to go. Ugh - this place used to be so good. With the ownership change, it has relaxed a lot of the food standards. The menu remains unchanged, what has gone downhill is the execution. For example, simple pancakes have a harder crust on them so they aren't fluffy. Corned beef hash is merely slices of corned beef with one fried egg on top. This is an amazing family own breakfast/lunch place, they have a varied menu, including a kids one. It's self service, you order at the counter and they bring you the food to the table. Very nice customer service, and prices. We had 3 adult breakfast and a kids, and spend ~$55. They have indoors and outdoors seating, it's on the smaller size so it gets pack easily. It's very family friendly (I would say that's the typical crowd, based on what I saw). They open only until 3pm. read more

I really loved visiting this place. It reminded me of a bed and breakfast in Gruene,TX. Very homey feeling and friendly staff, but pretty busy! I went to an early lunch at this place and had an omelet. No bad but not great! I had no idea where the coffee bar was....no one instructed me to it until after my meal when I ordered the coffee to go. I guess I am just not that observant sometimes. The staff was friendly and there was plenty of seating. There is also outdoor seating. The menu is up on the wall when you come in or you can get a paper menu.
