With the prior post's issue, in order to ascertain that it was simple, then someone must have taken a quick minute to at least gauge that, right? I wasnt asking for free service, but a similar experience of basic service that demonstrated the desire to earn my business. Due to the lack of it, I spent my hard earned money elsewhere. As is the case with competition, you had a chance to earn my business but the first impression said my time and/or money wasnt needed. As I stated, my review was based on that simple interaction. I don't typically leave reviews, however, this shop DEFINITELY deserves a great one! I took my car in for a rattling noise while driving and a screeching noise while starting up after sitting for a while. I assumed it had something to do with one or more of my belts. But I had been to other mechanics who said they were fine. To begin with, I took my car in a little late in the day but was helped almost immediately! Alfred, the manager, helped me himself, understood my concern, and quickly had one of his mechanics take my car out to figure out what the problem was. Embarrassingly, the rattling noise turned out to just be a hanging skid plate and a loose license plate. Within less than 30 minutes, they figured this out, removed the hanging skid plate, and tightened my license plate for no charge at all! I expected some kind of charge just for looking at my car! And they actually took it out for a drive! I then came back a few days later (as advised) to leave overnight so they could diagnose the screeching noise when started up after sitting all night. They open at 8am and by 8:30-9am they were already fixing the problem! Turned out I needed 2 serpentine belts and a new radiator hose clip (the old one wasn't on right and was causing coolant to leak on the belts, stretching them out). The parts were ordered and delivered, and my car was fixed within just a few hours!! And all for a VERY reasonable price!! I absolutely recommend this shop to anyone with car problems. The staff is EXTREMELY helpful, and they are extremely reasonable and quick! I found my new auto shop for sure! If I could give more stars, I would!! read more

Brought in my car after hearing the brakes grind like never before. I had them done a few months ago by a guy at his home which were done incorrectly and finally paying for not taking it into a professional. Alfred greeted me from my car, I briefly explained what I was needing and he said with a smile "sounds good, let's pull you in for a free brake inspection". Not long after, he walked me over to my car after checking it out and broke down everything that he saw needed to be taken care of. Of course the brakes were destroyed however he gave an amazing price to get both the brakes and rotors replaced. Couldn't thank him enough. Came here for a simple Uber inspection and they made a huge deal over a broken reflector. The app doesn't even care about reflectors on the inspection sheet and before that they tried to charge me to fix a tire pressure sensor that was still working. I just had to fix the air pressure a bit. They wasted my whole morning saying to back for the 40 dollar inspection after lunch and they didn't even want to pass it. read more

Hi this is the place TO GO!!!!!!! I brought my 10 year old truck to this place and my car is perfect. The car was not braking properly,air conditioning didn't work,transmission. ALL OF IT FIXED!! They are good guys and help me keep my car running smooth. They always show you the busted parts and explain just exactly why they had to be fixed. My check engine light came on and I took my Jeep in to see Alfred. He assessed the issue right away and did an EXTREMELY THOROUGH job of explaining what caused the light to come on. He even showed me (on spare parts he had) exactly what the problem was and what it would take to fix it. Then he let me know that it wasn't urgent to fix right away , WHICH WAS GREAT NEWS, and that gave me some flexibility with timing of the repair. I've never had a mechanic do that. Possibly the best automotive shop I've ever used!! Been coming here for months and Eli and his crew have always gave 110% to my vehicle and needs. They're a great group of guys that are professional, skilled, nice and really do care for the customer. True story, I came in to repair a master switch on my driver side door because my windows weren't rolling up and down. Eli and his team quoted me a very good price to simply switch out the part. Little did anyone know that my car had a short in the wiring to that switch and instead of charging me more for the time and labor to fix the short, he had his guys work on it and didn't charge me a dime over the original quote. After I saw the time and work that the guys had to do to my vehicle to fix the short I felt bad that I didn't pay more, I'm talking 8+ hours for what was gonna be hour and a half. I forgot to mention that while my car was being fixed, Eli made sure I had a loaner vehicle to use so I wouldn't miss work. I know I'm not gonna be using any other mechanic for a long time as long as these guys are around!!! read more

Dec. 30th,2018 was the first time coming here since It's hard to find a honest shop now a days, was long over due for an oil change and decided to try Hilo out since I live across the street and i have to say it was a great choice! Alfred and Sergio were so welcoming and took care of me right away. My dad is a mechanic but with his busy schedule I needed to find a shop I could trust considering I have taken my car shops else where and they don't complete what they said they did,Sergio made sure he walked me through all the service that was done to my car.
