Got there on a DJ Bingo night so had a bit of a wait for seating and a bit longer wait for initial service but still an enjoyable evening. The atmosphere was fun and the bingo made the time pass quickly. Once we got the service it was very good. I had the Sloppy Jake and my wife had the Cobb salad with added fried chicken tenders. The food was good and portions were good for the price. The amount of chicken with the salad was amazing for only $2 more. We sat at the bar on a Sunday night. We originally were driving somewhere else but this place caught our eye so we thought we'd try it and we're glad we did! Ambiance was great. Service was great. And food was great! My husband got the classic hot dogs with tots. It was good but tater tots were slightly too salty. I got the chicken and rice and I LOVED IT. chicken grosses me out sometimes but this was cooked perfectly and the sauces were delicious. We had a terrible experience. When we arrived, they told us the wait time would be 45 minutes when we clearly saw a ton of empty tables available. There were seats open at the bar so we sat there and ordered food. We ordered appetizers first which took 30 minutes so when they arrived we immediately ordered our entrees. With a loud arcade and weekly games such as music bingo, don't expect a peaceful meal. The ladies hit the restroom where one stall was out of paper; told the hostess who was absolutely indifferent to fixing the issue. My sister and I picked at ours then meal #3 came. The promise of meal #4 was made. Request for more sauces was made and another 7-10 minutes went by. Sauces arrived, told order #4 was on its way. We all ate small bites of our meals waiting. Our waitress was MIA. My husband got up and found another server, asking to speak to a manager. Note, we WATCHED HIM WALK OVER AND TALK THE MANAGER. No show on manager, no show on meal #4. Another 5-10 min and that food finally showed up. The rest of ours was cold from trying to be polite. Food was finished and we received our bill and STILL NO MANAGER. We were given a slight discount which was appreciated and we gave our server our credit cards. FINALLY the manager shows and asks if we've paid. We let them know server has run our cards (Amex alert already sent). He goes and voids those transactions and gives us a little more discount. I mention how long it took for him to come over and he straight up LIES TO OUR FACES. "I was in the bathroom". No dude, we saw you get the message about us wanting to see you. We saw you talk to other guests instead of coming over. When I called you out on that, you just walked away. Well you know what? And the entrees that were on the menu, were flavorless or just inedible. One of the kids ended up not even getting their food at all and we had to be comped for it. How do you run out of chicken tenders? Even the neighboring patrons were complaining about their food - seemed to be a running theme. Wings were great - 10/10 Spinach dip - 2/10 Burgers - 9/10 Calamari - 8-/10 If you want wings or burgers and you have a lot of patience, this is the place for you. How has this place been in business since 1997? We have been coming to Hilton Head for decades but had never been here. Our usual stop in the Shelter Cove area, World of Beer, went out of business and we'd been looking for a replacement. Hilton Head Tavern isn't it. My wife ordered a burger cooked medium. it came out well done. mostly inedible. She could only manage eating half of it. I ordered a Reuben. I'm not sure what kind of meat they used but it wasn't any normal type of corned beef. Awful! It came with potato chips and even they were bad. How do you mess up chips? We will never be back. And we'll still be searching for a replacement for World of Beer which was an awesome spot. read more

The absolute horrible part of the meal on a Thursday was the disastrous DJ that was playing music there. He was so so bad.
