Worst customer service ever! Waited forever for my order just for it to have been sitting there the whole time!

We decided to go to this restaurant fooled by its 'high rating'. We entered the restaurant at 8 pm (the website said it closes at 9 pm). As we entered the restaurant, the person at the cashier's desk told us that the dine in was closed and that they're taking only take out orders. When it was our turn to order he wasn't properly listening to us and went ahead with the order before we could even finish the order. He was very annoyed and rude with us. He ended up not adding one of the dishes we had ordered but at that point we just wanted to leave. After reaching our place, we found out that two items were missing from our order even though it was billed. He was rude once again after I called back to tell him about the missing order. He was blaming us for ordering late even though the restaurant says it's open till 9 pm and we were there at 8 pm!! Now mistakes like these happen, I understand but it was his rude behavior that was unacceptable. Clearly we did not have a great experience and I wouldn't suggest this restaurant! read more

A New Favorite Excellent Food, Good Service And Nice Atmosphere! Friendly manager who legitimately cared that we were happy. The water girl was very polite and kept our cups filled with vigilance! We ordered: Chicken Chau Chau: A new favorite! Absolutely outstanding. This was a really really awesome noodle dish that I will want to have again next time I am in Flagstaff Arizona. Chicken Thumpka: A little bit sour but oh so tasty soup of goodness! I really liked how full of food the soup was! Delicious! Garlic Bread: Good little appetizer... Not sure how much can be said about bread but it was fresh and the hark sauce tastes good on it. In Summary: This would be in my top 2 choices in Flagstaff Arizona for eating. A hidden gem of delightful Indian food in Flagstaff. I had the chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and basmati rice. I eat A LOT of Indian food.l and this joint is legit! This ain't it, chief. The food was OK. The momos were kind of soggy and tended to disintegrate, and the mixed appetizers were either too wet (fry-ables) or too dry (meat). The tikka masala and madras were fine, not the best but not bad. Same for the saag. We ordered 2 garlic naan and to our surprise got exactly 2 slices of naan. Most places "2 orders" means several pieces per order. The naan itself was just OK. The real reason this is not a great place is the service. We tried calling for half an hour, only to get a voicemail every time. The drive is 30-40 minutes, so it makes sense to order ahead, but we couldn't get through. When we got there, I went in and asked how long the takeout wait might be, and was told 30 min. I mentioned the phone didn't work because I thought maybe they didn't realize, and the host said, "we're busy, and I didn't want to carry the phone with me." This is a business, right? After he told me that, I went back to the car to order (because he was unmasked and so was everyone else inside, and the air was dank with the smell of people), and my partner called. This was maybe 30 seconds after he told me "30 minutes." She was told "45." At 55 min, my partner went in to check. It ended up being closer to an hour, at which point the host called her to tell her that our order was ready. When she went in to pick it up, he spent 3 minutes making her wait while sweeping....nothing. He literally just called her in, after seeing her only a few minutes prior.. She didn't get a chance to ask for utensils because some guy came in asking for onions (???) and the host ignored my partner from that point on. The experience was so frustrating, and meanwhile the food was expensive and not great. read more

Food is amazing. Had the lamb vindaloo which was spiced perfectly as well as the sweetest and most succulent lamb I've experienced. Tried the Gaja Halwa-also wonderful. The prices are extremely reasonable. The service is prompt and friendly and the quality of food is superior. Definitely a place to give a visit! read more

We wanted to try some really good Indian Nepalese food and drove all the way down to Flagstaff from Sedona. I wanted to order baingan bharta (eggplant) with naan but the server was kind enough to tell us that it was more Nepalese style and not Indian thick gravy that I was expecting it to be. So instead, we ordered Chicken Karahi with Garlic naans. They also served complimentary poppadums and lots of them which was nice -only that the poppadums we're a bit too oily. Chicken Karahi was yummy! It came with complimentary rice. We weren't too hungry or else we would have also ordered the dumplings which had great reviews on Yelp. Service was fast and we were really glad to see that the server didn't try to upsell us the menu. Parking is sufficient. This place is nice and cozy with Nepalese artwork on the walls but there isn't any view around the property. We will definitely be back if we are in the area. read more

Eeexcellent food! We had the vegetarian thali dinner combo for 2, you can't beat it!! It included 4 vegetarian entrees, all excellent, a large side of rice, a veggie samosa, a daal soup AND a dessert all for under $35!!! You can't beat it! They also have these combos for 2 in a non-vegetarian option, mixed vegetarian and meat option, or Vegan option! Everything was delicious. I wish they had a location in San Diego :) read more

Food was fabulous! The best Sheesh Kanab I have ever had. The flavor was to die for! The Chicken Tikka Masala was also the best I've ever had. Loved the naan too. We enjoyed this food so much we will be stopping by again tomorrow on our way home from the Painted Desert. One word of advice--if you will be ordering take out CALL the restaurant to place the order. Unfortunately, GrubHub doesn't tell you how long it will take to get the order ready until AFTER you place the order. This place is a to-go whenever I visit Flagstaff. I have tried their Karai Paneer, veg Kurma, dal, garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, lamb tandoor, non-veg thali everything is delicious. I heard this place was good and that's an understatement, it's fantastic. I ordered the chicken tiki marsala with some garlic nan. Before the food came out I was given a small appetizer that included condiments of pickled vegetables. Great and tasty. Dinner came soon after. The chicken tiki Marsala was in nice sized pieces, warm, in a fantastic curry sauce. The nan was light and crispy. They served more than most places I've eaten at before. The imported rice was cooked to perfection, light and fluffy. I'm not from Flagstaff but this fine eatery is now definitely on my places to frequent when in town. Very good at seasoning spice level of two, but, unless you like allot of heat, I would not request high heat. Eight of us ordered dinner out from Himalayan Grill; the order was ready before promised and was of excellent quality. All of the dishes we tried were enjoyed by many. Even more important was the attention to detail by the owner; the staff forgot to include the naan orders in the bag that was picked up. We were contacted and the owner drove the naan, piping hot, to where we were; about 15 minutes away. He delivered the order with an apology and double what we had ordered. Standard yummy Indian fare. A little bland on flavor and spice so If you're new to this cuisine it would be best to try their lunch buffet. Lots of options. Such an amazing find during our cross country road trip! Saw this place had ton of great reviews and we love eating Himalayan/Nepalese cuisine so we decided to try this for dinner. The service staff and owner were very kind, attentive, and helpful! The ambience is casual and serene. We ordered the lamb thupka (noodle soup) and shrimp chau chau (noodle dish). Both dishes had lots of spices and very flavorful. Highly recommend ordering both if it's your first time trying Himalayan/Nepalese food. Can't go wrong! Attn Management: I HIGHLY recommend you go to ANY sit down chain restaurant and STUDY how they take and facilitate orders. I had 5 different people who all knew my order "Frantically" assist me and the food still took 45 minutes (no exaggeration) to appear. In addition I had no silverware, wasn't nicely greeted with the (what seemed like the owner) short with me when I asked questions re some of the exotic dishes. So if you are going to have "Untrained" family members running your restaurant you might aswell LEARN from the best so EVERY negative review is about the service. Wow! What a fantastic place to visit if you are in the mood for some great Indian/Himalayan food. We stopped in for lunch on a random trip to Flagstaff. Situated in the corner of a strip mall, Himalayan Grill has a breathtaking view of the snow capped mountains. Stepping inside you are greeted with the mild wafting scent of incense and pleasing decor. We were seated immediately by the friendly manager. We chose a booth by the pictures of the Himalayan Mountains. After much debate as to whether or not to get the lunch buffet with champagne or something off the main menu, we settled on the buffet. Bottomless champagne and a buffet? Sold!! They had chicken curry, lamb curry, Tandoori chicken, dahl, sag paneer, naan, basmati rice, vegetable yellow rice, gulab jamon, and the list goes on. My favorite thing was the cilantro mint chutney. It had a nice kick of spice making me think of that Franks Red Hot commercial where the little old lady says, "I put that sh*t on everything!" I could eat that chutney on a piece of cardboard and it would be amazing. The manager took care of us and service was excellent. We highly recommend you check this place out!
