I'll be the first to admit that I am not the most familiar with Nepalese food, but my friend had recommended me this spot so I figured it was worth checking out! Came here on a Saturday around 6 pm with a friend. There were a few folks dining and as the evening went on it definitely got busier, however it seems like there was never an actual wait for a table. The servers were all very friendly and gave recommendations on what to try. Based on their advice we got the following (from favorite to least): - Steamed chicken momo: Ok I am sort of basic listing this first, but it was delicious! 8 steamed momos with a very solid chicken filling, would order again. - Goat Thali: Always fun to get a thali to be able to taste different dishes. A couple of them were a little bit too sour for me personally, but I could tell all the dishes were thoughtfully made - Pork sekuwa: I loved the puffed rice and the spices on the pork, but the pork meat itself was a little too fatty. Again I think this is purely personal taste, and next time I would order it with chicken or beef. All in all, it was a fun way to try out some foods I'm less familiar with and it definitely seemed like a local hangout serving some authentic food. If you're in the area, it's worth checking out if you want to have a variety of Nepalese food beyond the staples.

I came here for dinner with a group of friends. The interior was spacious and lovely with colorful artwork, along with sleek layout. There was a serene ambiance to the place. For my drink, I had a Mango Lassi, which had just the right amount of sweetness and thick consistency. It also tasted bright and refreshing. It was difficult to figure out what to order. At first, I was going to try Thali, traditional Nepali combination platter, but I wasn't sold on any of the main meat options. So, I decided to get the Sizzler plate with Lamb. This consisted of noodles and broccoli, fries, and pieces of lamb on a hot plate. I really enjoyed the lamb, which was succulent, juicy, and well seasoned. The noodles were also cooked well, while the fries were nice and crispy. I was able to try some of my friend's Sukuti Thali, which was dried meat. I got to taste both pork and beef. I preferred the pork, but it was a little too tough and salty for me. I enjoyed the garlic naan, which was bubbly, buttery, and full of garlic flavor. Service was solid. Our waitress was friendly, patient and knowledgeable about the menu. Prices were very reasonable. We had a nice evening dining here. If in the area, I would consider coming back to try the Beef Momo.

When you get off the Q-70 bus from LA Guardia at Jackson heights it always smells amazing. This restaurant has the great flavors to go along with that smell. Just a short block down from the station but a world away as far as ambience and feelings. We had the thali chicken and it had a huge range of flavors. If you have extra time don't eat at thr airport but try this instead.

I was Introduce to Himalayan Yak thanks to a Yelp event. I arrived on a Sunday afternoon and had the place all to myself. I sat at the bar and perused the menu. The gentleman greeted me and made me feel welcomed and comfortable. As soon as I saw garlic naan that was an absolute must and then for my entrée I decided on the chicken tikka masala. The naan was perfect. It came out pipping hot with ample garlic. I love that for me. The chicken tikka masala was flavorful with a great balance of spices. However the chicken was not as tender as I would have hoped. Overall it was a nice lunch. Just A Note: The offer happy hour and live music.

A beloved Nepali staple in the Jackson Heights neighborhood known for their live music and delicious food. This place is a must-try if you're in Queens! We came early so there was ample space and no wait. Highly recommend the momo, chili fish/chicken, chow main and with fluffy egg, and sizzling platters that come with savory gravy noodles. Best to come with lots of people to try more family style!

While we had enjoyed a lovely dinner here a while ago, we returned here on 8/15/2924 for the 12th annual momo crawl as we did not try the momos on our last visit. Solid beef and veggie momos and the sauces offered paired so well. The staff was so pleasant and kind. These momos are at the top of our list out of all the mo.os we tried in the area! We highly recommend stopping in the beautiful establishment for momos and so many other delicious unique dishes.

Came on a Sunday for lunch right when they opened and we were the only ones there for the entirety of our meal. I think another couple came in near the end, but I hope this place gets more business as I thought it was pretty good! I primarily came because of a Yelp event offering a free chai, but I figured we could make a meal out of it as I don't think I would have tried this place otherwise. I was super glad we did. For 3 ppl we ordered 4 dishes: - blood sausage: this was my first time trying a dish like this and it was my favorite. I loved the texture of the sausage (more grainy because of the blood?) and I thought the flavor was good. It wasn't the others favorite. - chicken lollipop: also a very strong dish, the batter was crispy and the chicken was juicy. It didn't need to be dipped in sauce but the sauce (a sriracha mayo of sorts?) was good as well. - beef fried momo w chili: this was a solid option and while the chili was not spicy, I still liked the sauce. The chili sauce did make it less crispy but it still had a crunch. I actually really liked the addition of onions and peppers to this dish. - Lhasa bokchoy: I thought the menu said it was prepared with spices but it was just sautéed bokchoy with some other veggies, so it was healthy I guess. I'm not sure I'd come back, but do think it's a place worth checking out if you're in the area and not sure what to get!

Wish this place served tea until closing

Don't come here if you're in the mood for tea. I arrived after dinner at 9:30pm and was told the place had no tea left. When the waiter saw my confused face, he said that they usually stop serving tea at 8 or 9. I left disappointed. From what I observed while waiting to be greeted, the service was slow and unwelcoming. There was a lack of ventilation and the air was musky. Driving here was also difficult as the streets have many blind spots and parking is limited. Don't think this is a place I'd visit again.

Good place for indian/nepalese cuisine in jackson heights. Ambiance is good and its right next to train station. The service is efficient and menu is ample. Loved their thali and chicken tikka masala. Good portions for money. They also have live music at specific days/times.

Came here with my parents for dinner since we wanted them to try momos! The restaurant is nice inside with a homey feel. Our waitress was super attentive. We tried a bunch of dishes including beef momos, chicken momos with johl on the side, lollipop chicken, 2 orders of garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, the Nepalese goat curry dish, and beef chow mein. We came here for the momos and we're honestly a bit disappointed. They weren't as juicy as some of the Momo trucks we tried. No white or hot sauce to drizzle either. We never had johl before (+$2 charge which we weren't aware of). The johl is served cold which surprised us. We really liked the chicken lollipop, garlic naan, and beef noodles. Everything was served super hot. Solid spot if you're looking to try Nepalese food for the first time but it is lacking a bit in flavor...

Oy. The Sizzler was terrible but the Momo was delicious...what to say. My experience here was good overall. The room is nice, not amazing or anything, with traditional flourishes, but the music when i cames was great...didn't understand a word, and still really enjoyed it. The waiter was nice enough but didn't have the common sense when it was clear I hated a dish to take it back...the Sizzler is awful, unless you're into coke braised chicken and noodles...fn terrible!!! Still, the wine was ok, and the dumplings with thw sauces was not just good but phenomenal!!! Interlaced with scallions...and perfect sough...amazing.

    Mizan R.

The door outside is epic so i had to see the inside and it's really nice vibes and cozy yet tons of room there's live music and a bar the food took a long time to come out despite it being only two orders of momo one is chicken jhol and the other is beef in chili. the jhol on the side wasn't a good idea it was better mixed in but it's cold and i wouldn't recommend it i think the beef chili is much better and spicer next time i'll get that and the sizzling pan the service is awesome very kind and helpful and the ambiance is good i like this place good food but the jhol momo was very peanut based not much jhol to it so get the chili it's A+

I've done both to go and stay, and I love the cups they serve the drinks in. Their matcha and cold brew are my usual go-tos, but what makes this place so exceptionally special is that it's also a cultural shop, selling and showcasing Tibetan craft goods and culture to the younger generation - something you don't really see much, especially being in the largest Tibetan diaspora in the US. Plenty of good seating, and I especially appreciate the signs on some tables that enforce no laptops or other forms of media to minimize loitering, which you'll see all the time at certain tables.

The iced Americano was solid too if you need a good option for your coffee fix. I also tried the momo dumplings & they were decent overall. It was slightly on the mushy side, but still tasted great. The space itself is pretty big with plenty of seating. There aren't many outlets though, so I'd recommend charging your laptop beforehand if you're planning to get some work done. The drinks also took a little while to come out, so service tends to be on the slower side. If you have some time & in the area, I definitely recommend checking this place out!

The store was on the emptier side probably given the weather outside, with only about a third of their 30 or so seats taken. Seating is first come first serve, no formal waiter service, you order at the counter and they bring the food when it's ready. Staff were helpful in explaining what each item was, the protein options (a choice of chicken or beef for each), and level of spiciness (not too spicy though the accompanying sauces had a kick). We ordered-- - Kothey momo $9.99: selected the beef filling, this was a lightly pan-fried dumpling with a thin dough wrapper and savory minced beef filling. Served with a medium spicy dipping sauce. Good! - Thai soup momo $12.99: came in a curry broth with vegetables, my friend ordered the chicken momos and they came piping hot in the soup. Tasty and warm comfort food for a very cold evening. - Chili momo $11.99: deep fried and served with a tangy sweet and sour chili sauce, peppers and onions, my friend ordered the beef version. The spice level on the chili sauce was pretty mild. Yummy. - Samosa chaat momo $11.99: sprinkled with diced tomato, onion, cilantro doused with green chutney and sitting in a shallow bed of yogurt sauce, these deep fried momo were so flavorful. - Tandoori momo $11.99: I'm not sure if these were baked in a tandoori oven but they were sure seasoned with spices to taste like it , and delicious! Tender and juicy chicken filling. - Sandeko momo $11.99: another deep fried momo (this time I asked for beef) topped with a chunky sauce of soybeans, tomato and onion, filled with minced meat. This was another tasty plate! All the momos we ordered came with 8 pieces, while some of the basic flavors come with a couple more pieces. A single plate is a moderate amount of food for a meal though we ended up ordering six different types to share and try. Each stood out in a different way and I'd heartily recommend all. If there was just one critique it was since it was so cold that night (in the teens Fahrenheit) and no outside wind door that whenever a new customer or delivery pickup driver came in, a rush of freezing cold air also came in. It was quite chilly inside the restaurant for that reason and I had to eat with my jacket on. However that didn't detract from the tasty momos, and I'll certainly be back!

I've walked past this place a few times and was intrigued so I decided to give it a try…read more It has a beautiful, well decorated interior and was kept warm and cozy on a snowy day. They provide complimentary popcorn, which is well seasoned and rich with ghee. I was seated in a chair that was very low to the ground. While outfitted with comfy cushions, I was not sure what the proper was to sit on this chair was and I was too embarrassed to ask. My best guess is that it's meant to be a criss cross applesauce type situation, but I had on wet snow boots and didn't particularly want to do that. This isn't a complaint, but just something to consider for anyone with mobility concerns who might be considering visiting. There are some normal style chairs in the front of the restaurant that I'm sure I would have been switched to had I requested as such. Anyway, onto the food. I ordered the "Lahana Ko Faarzi Bhoj" which arrived on a large round platter with a variety of different dishes. I am very new to this type of food, and most of it was completely unfamiliar to me, which was very exciting. The grain at the center of this platter is "chiura," a rice product which has been pounded flat and dried. It has a light and crunchy texture, and pairs well with the thinner, wet curries it was served with as it really soaks up the liquid and expands in size. I've never had this before and it was very interesting to try. The platter comes with two bowls of warm curry, one with black eyed peas and maybe some potato and the other was darker with meat which I preferred. Both were rich and deep in flavor, but the darker one (pictured on the right) was so savory and well balanced- definitely my favorite part of the meal. They both have some heat to them, the kind that builds at the back of the palette throughout the meal, but none of this food was excessively spicy. The main plate has a ring of various cold dishes around the edge, all of which were unfamiliar to me so I can't necessarily identify them. My favorites were the pieces of well seasoned dark meat chicken and the deep fried egg in the center, but it also included some pickled elements, some ground meat and a small skewer, which I found to be quite tough. I really enjoyed trying new, interesting food in such a beautiful space. The servers were kind and there are many other items on the menu that I'm interested to try. I feel lucky to have this place nearby.

The bara itself was fairly neutral in flavor, and the aloo sabzi was paired with strong fermented beans that I haven't acquired the taste for yet. We tried both the plain steamed veg momos as well as the jhol momo. The dumpling filling was very good, but I found the jhol broth a little light - the dumplings also could have been served hotter.
