    Just Poke tuna and yellowtail
    Kelly P.

Found a gem! I'm in town visiting and was craving poke. It was so easy placing an online order from their website. I tried the poke bowl with tuna and yellowtail, cucumber salad, and miso soup. It was all fresh and delicious and a great price. I ordered to go but when I picked up my order the inside looked cute. The staff were friendly and helpful too. Worth a try!

This place has so many different choices for sauces and proteins and fixings. I did appreciate the variety. I also love eating poke because I feel like I am eating healthier than other choices in restaurants. We came in and no one was in there, but two people came in behind us. The nature of assembling poke bowls is that it takes a minute. There was one worker and she did her best. The look of the assembled bowl was 5/5 top notch! I appreciated that they allowed us to go over and sit at the tables at the sushi place that adjoins it. The only thing missing for me was more flavor, with all those things in there I would think it would be a flavor explosion! I think, for me, it came down to the sauce ratio. I ordered habanero mango sauce and spicy mayo. Maybe more sauce volume would have made it for me. Not sure.

Stopped by for dinner. It was pretty busy in the small shop. Tight area, no indoor seating. When the weather is nice there are chairs/tables outside. We ordered the build your own bowl. Servings are generous. All the sauces and toppings were phenomenal. Tuna tasted fresh. They also have fun drink options Recommend this place. I will be coming back.

This review is strictly for Hinoki Omakase, but I'll leave it here since I can't find a separate page for that experience. We treated ourselves to Hinoki O for our wedding anniversary dinner late last Fall. This was truly a legendary meal. We will be hard pressed to top this experience. We ended up being the only booking that night, which lent an undeservedly private feel to it! We indulged in the standard + waygu option, and each bite was more luxurious that the one before it. Showstoppingly beautiful & melt in your mouth delicious, the entire meal for a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds. We opted in for a sake pairing, and that was delightful as well! Each expertly curated sip matched & complemented the course. Our host & chefs were attentive, personable & knowledgeable guides that brought us along on a culinary journey. If you are a fan of impeccably fresh fish & enjoy the pleasant surprise of not knowing what you may be served, the Hinoki Omakase adventure might be for you! It's worth it to mention that it is a spendy meal, and available by reservation only, but its a unique, highly skilled and indulgent dining experience we're lucky to have in Reno.

This review is for Hinoki Omakase. They also do a hand roll bar Tuesday through Thursday that I don't think many people know about. It is divine. While most sushi options in Reno are AYCE, the hand roll bar uses more premium fish and has different combos based on how many hand rolls you want. The service is equally as stellar as it is for the omakase nights. The vibe here is wonderful, everything is clean and nice with decor that really puts you in the mood for sushi. If you get a chance to swing by the hand roll bar, you won't regret it!

It was quite the amazing experience. Everything was done very carefully and intentionally. It's a very intimate dinner as there's only a seating for 8 people. I've been to Japan and dang, this is the best sushi I've ever had. You get to try real wagyu beef - like the ones they listens to jazz, drink beer and get massaged for 10-13 years. Wow, just wow! They fly the fish from Japan here. You get REAL wasabi. Their menu changes every 4-6 weeks. Please note you'll probably want to do the premium version of this Omakase dinner as it would be sad if you were there for your birthday dinner and others were getting dishes you weren't. Also, they won't do anything special for your birthday, you are just recognized.

Some friends recommended this place, so I finally decided to give it a try. Ever since I discovered poke, I've been obsessed! The spot is small, but they have a few tables inside and outside where you can sit and enjoy your food. The prices are reasonable, and while the experience wasn't perfect, it wasn't bad either. I say that because the person who helped me didn't really understand or hear what I was saying I literally had to raise my voice and repeat the ingredients more than once. I even asked for the seaweed salad on the side, but she put it inside my bowl. I mean, I don't really mind I was gonna eat it anyway but sometimes I just prefer it on its own. Other than that little hiccup, everything else was great and the vibe was really chill ¿Quieres que le dé un giro más divertido o sarcástico?

I cannot overstate how much I love the temaki bar on Wednesdays. I keep coming back time and time again and bringing more people. The vibes at Rancharrah are 10/10, so nice to sit outside as the sun goes down. The fish is so fresh and yummy. The chefs choice nigiri continues to be my favorite, and the unagi was very good too. The fish is buttery and melty, perfect little pillowy bites. Always one of my favorite sushi experiences in reno!

Was in the mood for some poke and decided to try this spot in Rancharrah for the first time. The restaurant is very clean inside and there is seating available inside and outside. The woman who helped us wasn't overly friendly, but she did provide some suggestions throughout. The poke itself was delicious- one of the best tasting I've had in a long time. It was fresh and flavorful, and I liked the combination of sauces (I got the Sesame Shoyu and Spicy Mayo and was told that was a popular combination). The fish did not taste fishy at all. Only thing was the avocado was pretty brown. My only criticism is that there is only one size of poke bowl to purchase, and it comes with two proteins. This was about $17, and it's a very large size. I would love a smaller portion (and cheaper) option for one protein. For a mid afternoon snack/late lunch, it's nice to have the option.

I went here for the first time after pregnancy. So, my review can be skewed since I couldn't eat raw fish for some time. Overall, the experience was a 10 out of 10. Met up a friend to catch up. Entered the store, and it was super clean, and the staff was so kind. They helped us with our order. They gave us time to look over their menu to build our poke bowl. They made the bowls quickly, and we paid. The inside is a bit small, but the outdoor seating is endless. The complex obviously has lots of outdoor seating. It being a weekday was not as busy, so the options were endless. The bowl looked amazing. I got Hamachi and salmon for my protein with rice as the base. It was super delicious. I will say the spice level was not so spicy. Wish it was, but I had some lemon and ginger to help. I should have asked if they had Wasabi. I think I'll do that to make it even better. Check them out. It was super delicious, and the protein was fresh, just pure perfection. I wish I was better at describing the taste. But I loved it and that's that!

Hinoki Poke is easily my favorite poke restaurant in town! Hinoki is a long-standing name in the Reno sushi community and they did not disappoint when they opened Hinoki Poke. You can visit in person and Hinoki Poke is also on DoorDash. The fish and other ingredients is always of the highest quality! Sometimes poke restaurants don't always offer the best cuts of fish, but that is never the case at Hinoki. Their poke bowls are quite large, and I can usually spread it into two meals for myself. You can order from their preset poke menu or create your own bowl, which is always fun! If you are visiting in person, Hinoki Poke is more of a cafeteria-style walk up and build your own bowl type of place. The restaurant has a couple of small dining areas, both indoor and outdoor, or you can take your meal to another vendor at Rancharrah.

Are reservations required? Also, what are the business hours?

Yes, you must make a reservation. Hinoki O opens up reservation blocks online, and there are typically 2 seatings for dinner. This is a semi private chef's table type dining experience.

So I decided to give it a try. My husband and I were there for lunch. Upon walking into the store it is just so light and bright and open. The presentation of meats and seafood are displayed so beautifully. The menu for fresh food cooked right off the grill was right next to the cash register. My husband went with the bison, barbecue burger, and a side of fries, and I had the original burger with my choice of cheeses. Everything was prepared and served hot and fresh! We were offered ranch to go with our fries. I had a house made thousands island type sauce (but way better) to go on my cheeseburger. It was delicious. I asked one of the employees (Sarah) what was in it. She was very pleasant to talk to and very knowledgeable about all of their house made sauces. I told her that I loved the garlic in the Thousands island style sauce so she gave me a sample of their garlic aioli sauce! If you are a garlicholic like me, this is a must try!! Chefs kiss, for sure! I cannot recommend this location enough! When in Reno, it's a must try! If you go, tell Sarah her perimenopause, Indiana, garlic loving friend said hello!

Been waiting a long time to try this place. It did not disappoint. Yes these are ~$20 burgers but…read moreyou get what you pay for. Top quality meat and different meat & cheese choices. (Their Classic in my photo is probably their least impressive looking burger.) I ordered medium rare like always at a high-quality joint but I accidentally got someone's medium-well, and after tasting both, I actually preferred the the medium-well as the grind on the rare part of the medium-rare was a little mushier than I'm used to. Probably because most places you order a medium-rare you actually get a medium. Not here. I'd go medium on a return visit. I like they don't overseason the burger with too much salt like a lot of other places. Eaters with palates desensitized to salt due to a lot of fast food/burger eating may find the need to add salt to satisfy their salt craving. The burger sauce is also served on the side and is a bit milder, and more homemade tasting compared to your average burger sauces. This is great because the meat is so good you really don't want to overshadow it with salty seasoning and overpowering sauces. If you're going to dump a bunch of salt and sauce on it, just go to In-n-Out. They also have sandwiches, tenders and chili. If you think about it, a butcher shop deciding to serve cooked food is taking a risk. If the food isn't that great it can affect their meat business. The shop atmosphere is very upscale with high prices to match it like the rest of Rancharra Village. Very limited indoor bar dining and some tables outside. Not sure if the really high prices for the meats and seafoods in the case are worth it, but the saying "you get what you pay for" at least applies to the burgers here. My only suggestion is take a sharpie and scribble the cook temp (medium, medium-rare, etc) on the paper in the burger basket so groups don't get their burgers mixed up. They verbally pointed it out but it's easy to forget by the time you get back to your table with 3, 4, or 6 burgers. Fry basket is a great value, easily enough for 2 people and probably some of the best thick cut fries I've ever tasted with sort of a very light seasoned crispy panko outer texture to them. Updated Reno Burger Rankings primarily on quality/taste but also value is factored in but to a lesser degree: #1 Armandos #2 Royce #3 Beefy's tied with The Parlor #4 Archies Giant #5 Juicy's

For a small bowl of clearly watered-down clam chowder that didn't seem fresh - and somehow cost around $20, more than some of the best clam chowders at well-known coastal seafood establishments - I'm annoyed enough to write a Yelp review, which I rarely do unless I'm especially impressed or especially offended. Prices are high as expected in this type of setting. But if you have deep pockets and a seafood craving it should fit the bill. Most if my experience is eating the AYCE sushi here. Yes it's about $12 more per person that if you want to AYCE outside the hotel, but the local's 20% discount evens it up. Selection is more limited than most AYCE menu's. Probably the most limited in Reno based on my experience. They don't have things like scallop, unagi, surf clam nigiri. Mussels only available as nigiri sushi not as an appetizer. Etc. Roll menu is decent, you will find something you like if you are into rolls. They are HUGE, so recommend ordering a half long roll when possible. They also have a selection of hand rolls. We got the Salmon Skin Hand Roll which was pretty mediocre as the salmon skin was overcooked, very dry and crunchy like it was a bit burnt. Fish quality it typically on par with the average AYCE place in Reno but overall a half step down from one of the most popular AYCE places just a few blocks North (Tokyo sushi) which is a madhouse during prime hours with long waits so if you can get seated quickly here the convenience of it being in the hotel may be the better choice especially if you want a nicer, special ocassion atmostphere. Service at the bar was not very good this time around. Waited 20 min for them to come get our card to pay. But generally at the bar, because you can order directly from the chef, the server doesn't have to come very often except to get dessert order or drink order. If they had a wider selection on the AYCE sushi menu and some of the texture of the fish (Salmon) was more firm and less mushy, it could be a 5-star experience.
