We went to the restaurant in the evening and had a wonderful dinner. The server was knowledgeable and friendly. The food was outstanding. That was the best Lo Mein I have ever had. The atmosphere was upscale but not too much so it was comfortable. I was a bit suprised they didnt have pork or vegetable spring rolls, only avacado. Thefood is quality food and great flavors. I have been to this new location on several occasions and it has never been busy. But service and food is good if you eat it there. Take out is not near as good. However today went today and no one was there to seat us. No one was around at all. There was a woman in front of us who said she'd waited over 5 minutes and had not seen anyone. My mom finally walked around and found someone. We ordered cocktails that never came until we reminded the waiter. For lunch it took 40 minutes to get our food. 40 minutes! We had to pick up my son from school and had 10 minutes to eat. I just have not had an experience here to race about. I hope to though because I love the Hiro on Maple. read more

Our reservations were for a party of 9 on a Wednesday evening. We were celebrating my daughters 12th birthday. Upon arrival I had cake and gifts in hand. I was greeted fairly quickly and seated in a reasonable amount of time. Once the entire party arrived we were all sitting and enjoying each other's company when a man who worked at the restaurant approached us, I'm guessing he was the manager but never introduced himself. He was very rude by starting his conversation off with "you can't have that cake in here and you need to take it to your car or I can charge you $12". When I responded with are you serious, he then stated they have a no outside food policy as they serve there own cakes and walked away. I understand they have a policy and have no qualms with that part, mind you it is not stated anywhere on there website or in writing anywhere nor did anyone educate me when they called to confirm my reservations (my reservation notes specifically stated we were celebrating a birthday) My issue was with his entire approach, no thank you for choosing Hiro 88 for our dinner, no recognition that we were celebrating a special event, not even a polite explanation of their policy. Most of our party ordered sushi but we had 9 meals all together along with appetizers and drinks so it wasn't a cheap meal. It took nearly an hour to get our food and the restaurant was far from busy. Disappointing to say the least and I have no desire to go back. read more

went there for dinner Sunday night (memorial weekend) 2017, 7 people, called ahead, said they were not busy, they weren't but it took 45 minutes to get 5 of the dinners and another 10 minutes for the other 2 dinners. Went in for happy hour. Had not been here before. It was delish. We had a hard time choosing what type of sushi rolls to get. There are so many to choose from. But the firecracker w spicy tuna was the best. Not a fan of the husker, had beef in it but was not very good. We also had Korean spareribs. They were really flavorful and tender. normally i would give this a 4 to 5 star review, but after an 1 hour and 15 minute wait to get food on Sunday at 7pm, the best i could do was 2 stars. we had reservations but it was obvious the staff was unable to meet the basic customer needs. although seating was half full, the kitchen and management were deficient. I don't know if they have sold the restaurant to a new incompetent owner, or the management team was on vacation, but the service is now substandard, and i would suggest that customers go to somewhere else, because Hiro 88 is not able to provide basic service in a reasonable time. read more

We had such a wonderful experience at this Hiro location! The staff was so kind. We sat at the bar because it was packed for a Friday night Happy Hour. The Happy hour specials are SO worth it! We loved the Wasabi Stinger Roll! I have not tried any of the Groupon Specials but heard there are some good ones to take advantage of! read more

This is one of the best sushi places I have ever had. All rolls are good and the friend rice and noodles are the best. They get the food to you in an incredibly timely manner and the waiters are very polite. I recommend it to all my friends. The late night sushi deal is amazing. I met some friends here for dinner last Wednesday evening. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated, which was fine. We finally were seated in the bar area and our drink orders were taken, but that's where things went downhill. Two of my friends ordered drinks and 2 of us just drank water. None of the drinks came out for at least 15 minutes. I think the waiter forgot about us. When the drinks finally came, my friend's drink was wrong. She ordered a mango coconut mojito and she got a regular mojito. The waiter took it back to the bar and came back with a different one that had just coconut in it. It wasn't worth trying to get the right drink so my friend just kept it. At this point we still hadn't had our dinner orders taken. The waiter came to our table (with us still holding our menus) and told us that he was told one of the owners said we had our orders taken. Since we were still sitting there with our menus in our hands that probably wasn't accurate. We probably waited 30+ minutes more for our dinners to arrive. I watched people who had checked in right around the same time as us finishing their meals and bottles of wine and leaving. We hadn't even gotten our food yet. My friends and I only get together as a group a few times a year so we were perfectly happy with all the time to sit and talk, but if I had been in a hurry this wouldn't have been okay. Curry Chicken had a nice smokey after taste coupled with spices in the eggplant. Perfect. Avocado Egg Rolls - outstanding. Ordered online at 6 requesting 7 pickup. Order was waiting on arrival. I placed an order for pickup. I ordered broccoli beef and Szechuan chicken that was not on the menu. I didn't know that and the person taking the order didn't tell me. I was charged $24 for the chicken mistakenly and it wasn't very good. The broccoli beef was bland. I went back and asked Rick the manager to make it right and correct the price for the chicken. He wouldn't do a thing. I'm done going there and I recommend to all of you to find a different place to go for Chinese food. Big disappointment. read more

Stopped in for dinner tonight and quickly wished we would have kept on driving. The salad was with carrot dressing was great and was the highlight of the meal. The Shrimp Tempura I ordered arrived at our table cold. Yuck! I spoke with our waiter and sent it back to the kitchen. The replacement meal arrived at the table and it looked like a mess. The fried tempura onions were sparsely coated in batter and were completely burnt to the point of being black. My wife had the Undon Noodle with Vegetable Tempura. The vegetables were cooked perfectly but the Undon noodles were very undercooked to the point of being chewy. Topping the whole meal off one of the wait staff came by our table and made a production of burping like a third grader as he passed our table. Given our dining experience this evening we cannot recommend Hero 88. read more

Hiro 88 has become our favorite omadestination for sushi. They have a great Happy Hour with a variety of food and drink options. We've tried almost all of the rolls but our favorites are the Firecracker Roll and the Wasabi Stinger. If you like a little more spice the Wasabi Stinger is a must try. The atmosphere is outstanding with outside seating options and a bar area if you are wanting more casual, and two different dining areas if you're looking for a more traditional sit down experience. read more

I have had good experiences at this place. Sushi has always been great. Love the husker rolls and Sunday happy hour is sweet. This was the first time going to the new location. The one on maple has always been a favorite. We got there about 8:00 and for the entire patio and bar area they had three people working for about 20 tables of people. This is a Friday night. After 10 minutes we were finally were greeted. After 20 minutes we finally got a glass of water and our drinks. There's no coming back from that. Since moving out this way we've really enjoyed sushi Japan.
