This spot serves Hong Kong style food and sushi. The sushi here are okay. They did mess up my order a few times before but the cheese bake rice dishes are delicious. It's between $11-13 now depending on which meat you get or seafood. They need to be careful when they pack sushi and hot food in one bag because the steam from the hot food cooked the sushi. I ordered the baked rice with my sushi platter and they put it all in one bag and the fish on the sushi was all cooked. It was disgusting. The service is terrible. Brought it to their attention and they do not care. read more

Great place for a quick bite, lunch, or dinner. Food is priced very fairly and tastes great. The staff are also very friendly, are willing to help, and I have never had an issue with them. My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years and it has always been consistent. We tend to order the Portuguese Chicken with Spaghetti - it is a pretty large serving and is able to feed 2 people. read more

Ok, y'all! I tried some more items from here and have to say that I've been thoroughly impressed. The Beef with Bitter Melon is still one of my favorites, but the Portuguese Cheese Rice with Pork Chop might actually take the top spot. The gooey fake cheese, the perfect pork chop, the massive portion... what's not to love? The French Toast was bomb. My random side order of a Philadelphia Roll was pretty good too. No complaints. H.K. Tea and Sushi is one of my favorite places to eat in Brooklyn. The service and staff are nice and it is very relaxing and peaceful here, which explains why there are always a lot of customers. My favorite are the Portuguese chicken cheese spaghetti and the chicken steak cheese spaghetti! If you come to 20th ave 86th street Bensonhurst, you should definitely visit H.K. Tea and Sushi. HK tea holds fond childhood memories for me, as this spot used to be *the* place to go to. Returning here years later, the place feels the same and the food tastes the same. My go to order is usually the baked minced meat spaghetti, but I had a kick for sushi and decided to try sushi for the first time here. They had a lunch special of 3 rolls for $10ish. It was a really good deal and the sushi tasted good. I also ordered the sushi deluxe which came with nigiri rolls. The quality of the fish was pretty decent and they're generous with the fish - the fish were sliced up pretty thick. Also my partner loves the Portuguese dish here! I'm happy to see that Hk Tea is still kickin' after all these years. Truly a neighborhood staple! read more

Looks like every other restaurant on the block except this one is always crowded. And for good reason! Their specialty is cheese baked dishes which come with spaghetti or rice. I usually order the Portuguese chicken cheese baked rice but my friends prefer the pork chop. The food is decent, not by any means amazing but service is quick and everything comes in massive portions so you can comfortably share a platter between 2 (or have leftovers for tomorrow's lunch if you prefer.) This time around, I tried the beef w scrambled egg chow fun. It was saucy and delicious. 7/10 The sushi was decent, tasted about what you can expect for about $4 a roll. They have all the standard rolls and you can pick and choose 2 or 3 as a combo. 6/10 The cheese baked rice is good as always, came in epic portions. This time around, seemed like the rice was missing some element of savory flavor but was still good. 7/10 The beef curry was alright, could have come with more beef since it was pretty onion overloaded. 6/10 Overall this is a great spot for cheap, decent food in Bensonhurst. Their menu is extensive and I will definitely be coming back to try more dishes! read more

I always order take out here since it is just right around the corner from my job. I get the baked rice with fish filet and corn with cream sauce. I never tried nothing else from here but they definitely do offer a wide range of food. I always call by phone and the order is always ready within 15 minutes, so super quick! read more

Great portion size and very decent food and sushi!! I enjoyed the chicken and broccoli as well as the combo platters. The portion amount was huge and the prices were reasonable. The toast with peanut butter and condensed milk was delicious! The hk milk tea was ok, but not the best. read more

Place definitely changed post pandemic, order the curry chicken, but was extremely disappointed. On top of that I had to worry about the bits of plastic I occasionally have to spit out because the plastic cover had disintegrated into the sauce, I should have probably toss it out as I'm sure it's a major health issue. But I was craving and it was the only dinner I had. I would have over looked this had the taste satisfy me but sadly it did not, the curry was watered down, it had absolutely no taste. Had it not being label "curry chicken" you would Not be able to tell it's curry. read more

I love HK Tea and Sushi! I only get the cheese bake since being introduced to it. I just can't bring myself to ordering anything else after knowing how delicious the cheese bake is. The portion has gotten smaller over then years, but it is still filling and delicious. I've been visiting for years and I noticed last year that their portion side got smaller. It use to come in a large circle-shaped casserole dish, but for the first time, I received it an oval shape casserole dish which was seemed smaller than the circle-shaped casserole dish. There was also no change in price. Even so, their cheese bake is still delicious, but not as good as I remembered. I felt there was not enough sauce or cheese when I ordered take out last week. I was a little disappointed as I am always craving HK Tea and Sushi cheese bake. I just don't think it is as good as it use to be. It lacked sauce and cheese. It was good, but I don't think it was worth the 30-minute drive to visit anymore. The price also went up about $1 for each item, which was expected as many restaurants have raised prices due to the pandemic. Nonetheless, it's still delicious and worth trying! read more

We shared the fried pig intestine, ground beef cheese (portugese?) casserole, lunch 3 sushi rolls and salt & pepper wings. Excellent casserole- omg. Such easy soul food for adult or child. Ever so slight sweetness from bit of tomato sauce, gravy, ground beef, cheese, sautéed onions over a vat of egg stained rice... mmmmm. So dam satisfying. That intestine. Easy, chewy, animally. If pig intestine, offal, innards r up your alley- you need this in your life. It's a wee pungent but actually has more textual interest than flavor and a great Chinese "bbq" sauce. The rest was ok decent whatever. HK tea of course a must. read more

This place used to be good. Their baked spaghetti chicken steak was so huge and oily. They used to use real spaghetti but now use Chinese spaghetti. So much noodle and so soggy. Food portions are too large. read more

I remember my mom used to take me to a restaurant of the same name on the other side of Brooklyn. I do not know if it's the same owner or if it was a chain but I would like to think so (the old I am referring to is long gone). We frequented the place so much for any self-proclaimed special occasion with the family. Good times. As I got older and moved to 86 street with my husband, I was given the opportunity to relive my childhood on this side of Brooklyn. The quality of their food is usually pretty good and the portions really really fill me up, maybe even a little over the top. I love ordering the baked rice as well as tomato and beef over rice! The sushi can be a hit or miss. I've had both fresh fish as well as some fish that I just could not put in my mouth. Same with their oysters. But at the same time, I am known to be specially sensitive to fishy odors. It is unfortunate that this current pandemic caused them to close for now but I will surely be visiting them some more when this is over. I miss their food so much right now. read more

Pork Chop cheese baked rice. This is the dish that I still occasionally dream about after moving out of Brooklyn 10+ years ago. So tender, so flavorful, sooo much sauce! I've tried many times to recreate the dish, but never coming close. So every time I'm in the neighborhood visiting my parents, I will get 3 of these to go, now that I think of it, I have a freezer, maybe next time I will get like 10, since my kids share my taste buds. Everything else? I think is fairly good and fairly standard for a sushi place. read more

I'm surprised I never wrote a review for this 86th Street staple. Nevertheless, here it is. Had takeout here and the food doesn't disappoint. They are well known for their baked rice/spaghetti dishes so give them a try. It will come piping hot. For $10, you will probably be really full or have some leftovers for tomorrow. I prefer this restaurant over Kowloon Cafe a few avenues away. read more

I came here tonight for dinner because the other place we wanted was crowded. I haven't been here in 2 years... but it seems everything went down. Cleanliness- 1 star, our table wasn't fully cleaned (they rushed wiped it) so there was still spills and stickiness there. Our teacups were dirty; one had something that look like boogers. Tea was very light/watered down as if it was the leftover tea water plus more hot water. So we order cans of coke (3). Service- 2 stars, they were busy and it took awhile to get any services; ordering food/drinks to even the check. Food- 2 stars: we order a few sushi items, rice dishes and noodles dishes with chinese toast with butter/condensed milk. Toast came cold (not toasted; was room temp). My beef udon dish tasted as if the beef was leftover beef reheated. Baby corns in the veggies tasted off. Inari sushi tasted freezeburn and stale. Nothing was amazing or good. It was an okay meal but we will not be coming back. I forgot about the food quality so no wonder it's been 2 years since we last came. read more

I am glad that this place opened back up for dine-in. I have been to this establishment my fair share of times and it has never disappointed me. The food always comes out tasty, no matter what you order, and you really can't beat the prices. I used to get such yummy sushi from here. The dishes my friends and I got were $9-$11, and we all got very full. I ordered the vegetable udon today, which was very well cooked and delicious. This is a nice, cozy place to go to for Cantonese food. It's right off the 20th Avenue train station. You can request tea or water which is constantly refilled by the waiters. I order a wonton noodles soup (comes with 4 wontons, leafy greens and noodles -- which hit the spot) which might be considered to be small though it was perfect for my appetite that day. The rice dishes are huge -- good for sharing or if you are really hungry. I didn't get the dish names so check out the picture since I was hungry once I started eating. Price-wise it's reasonable. The restrooms are 1 room for each gender. It is clean. Definitely a spot I would come back to try other items if in the neighborhood. read more

I've been coming here for years and it is my favorite place to get Hong Kong style comfort food. Everything I ordered for takeout today hit the spot, not to mention 4 entrees + 2 sides totaled $44. The takeout order left 4 people super full, satisfied and even had leftovers. Some of my favorite dishes include cheese baked minced beef spaghetti- It's basically ground beef spaghetti with melted cheese and a sweeter tomato sauce. French toast with condensed milk and peanut butter is another classic must get. I also really enjoy their fish filet with eggplant (over rice). read more

I love HK. I've been coming here for years and was craving their baked Portuguese chicken dish after not having it all through COVID. We placed an order for takeout and got that dish, the full size pork chops with special tomato sauce, sesame chicken over rice, and eggplant with beef over spaghetti all for ~$35. Everything was ready in about 15 minutes and the store was very clean and took various COVID precaution measures. Definitely go here to try their baked Portuguese dishes. Decent option if you're craving Hong Kong style food and sushi. We arrived as a party of two and were immediately seated near the front of the restaurant. This spot had a good mix of small and big tables, and would be able to accommodate parties of diverse sizes. Came here for a quick bite with friends and was a good experience. The waitress led us to our table, and then completely disappeared, so we had to wave down a different person to put in our order. Although I've been multiple times before, I felt like it wouldn't be right if I didn't write a review this time around. The wait for a Saturday night was not long at all for a table of 4. Despite this, they were super busy. We were really hungry and we wanted a bit of everything so we ordered a bunch of things and shared. Everything came out within 10-15 minutes except for the sushi and it all looked delicious!! We ordered flat noodles with beef (it usually comes dry but we asked for it to be saucy). It definitely hit the spot. All of the food did. We finished everything, which is typically a good sign of good food :). The wait staff was also very friendly and accommodating. We had asked for avocado to be added to the mango Kani salad and they were able to give us that for a little extra. I definitely recommend this place a try when you're in the area! read more

In my young adult years, this was one of my most frequently visited restaurants when I lived nearby... and I decided to give it a go today since I was in the neighborhood again. I am so disappointed to see the quality go down from what it used to be. I ordered a kani salad and I only saw a few strands of kani. Everything else was pretty much soggy cucumber with liquid on the bottom. It looks almost rotten??? Did not see this until I got home. Kani salad used to be my favorite thing to get there. It was always fresh with masago, topped with Mayo and crunchy cucumber/kani. Today it is just gross. I know Covid hit restaurants hard and that's why I try to support as much as I could but I can't even eat this. I hope they get better. 2 stars because the HK milk tea was still amazing as always. read more

I was really happy to find this place, as I really wanted to eat HK style French toast. For those that are unfamiliar with that type of deliciousness, Hong Kong style French Toast is similar to conventional French toast. The difference being , it is either topped with or stuffed with peanut butter and then they put sweetened condensed milk on top of the toast instead of syrup, it's phenomenal. I was looking all over the city in the Brooklyn area and finally found this place. It's pretty easy to get to and there's plenty of street parking available. Right now due to the pandemic you can only get takeout or deliveries so you cannot eat in. I recommend calling ahead for your order. The food was absolutely delicious! I typically like the French toast to be stuffed with the peanut butter and not have it on top, but it was still great. The skewers were decent, but couldn't hold a candle to the toast. Price wise, everything is low cost and you won't spend more than 30 bucks for two people. Definitely swing by here! read more

Great place on 86th St to grab some HK to Japanese food. Lots of options you can choose from their menu and it's a great solid place whether you want to to-go or dine in. The staff was really kind and you can see how genuine they are from their work. read more

I eyed the low star rating with some trepidation, because many of the criticism was coming from Cantonese people who know what they're talking about and as far as I could tell, judging the place plainly and not on an unreasonably strict curve. Perhaps because my expectations were level set and because the 3 items I had were decent, my normally critical self is going to round up what I would consider a 3.5 star experience to 4 stars. My partner and I biked here on our fancy bikes that we didn't feel comfortable locking outside, and they very kindly allowed us to keep our bikes in the front area. Some tables were occupied, but it was pretty chill on the Saturday afternoon I visited so this might be why they were so relaxed about it. We got the horlick french toast, rice noodles with fish balls, and HK milk tea. It's true that I'm used to Manhattan and north Brooklyn prices but wow things were shockingly cheap on this menu. I didn't expect the best food but the horlick french toast and HK milk tea were particularly good. I think the fish balls and noodles tasted like they were either rehydrated or defrosted and absolutely not made fresh, but again I think this dish was like 5 or 6 bucks? So I'm fine with a little reheated noodle action. What I really came here was for the ambience, and even the haters in the reviews can't deny this place is cute. If I were here with a group I would love to sit in one of their plush booths. They didn't rush us at all and didn't mind me walking around taking dozens of videos. I'd recommend a visit!

A manager approached us and informed us that outside food was not permitted, even though purchases had been made. We were then asked to leave and eat outside in the hot weather. I understand that businesses have policies regarding outside food, and I respect the need to enforce them. However, I believe this situation could have been handled with greater compassion and understanding, given that the group consisted of individuals with disabilities who rely on packed lunches due to financial limitations. As someone who has consistently supported your establishment, I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility and empathy shown. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will no longer be bringing my business or the individuals I support to your establishment. I've come here many times in the past. Usually it's not by choice until tonight. I remember the first time I came here when it first opened. It was with my relatives and I'm not sure what they ordered but it all ame outlooking like plates of mush thrown on top of more mush. This caused me to not want to ever eat here again. I've had that mindset from their 1st month of opening until this past summer. My friends seem very fond of this place and usually request it for lunch on days that we're all free. From the experience I've gained here over the summer I've learned not to order any sushi and not to expect good service. I also learned that the best things to order here are the Cheese Baked Rice/Spaghetti dishes. Tonight I came here with my brother and mom. I ordered the same dish I always order because it's just so amazing that I refuse to eat anything else. It was the Chicken Steak Baked Cheese Rice for $6. This dish is so delicious. Usually. I was a bit disappointed today. The chicken was very flavorful and tender without being dried out like chicken breast tends to get like. What disappointed me was the rice. It was clearly what used to be fried rice. I've eaten this dish a million times and it's supposed to be white rice under there. This leads me to assume that I got rice that was a wrong order and was sitting back in the kitchen forever. On top of that they totally cheated me on the sauce that it usually comes with. If they're going to sell me old rice, at least give me enough sauce to cover it up visually. My brother, against my helpful hinting, ordered a Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box for $9. The chicken came out very dry. On top of that there was so little of the chicken. The California Rolls it came with fell apart upon picking it up. I dared not try the spring rolls it came with. Don't bento boxes usually come with shumai and not spring rolls? It also came with a salad and Miso Soup. The salad was sub par. The soup tasted like any other miso soup. My mother ordered a Beef and Tomato Rice for $4. I didn't try this dish was it seemed rather saucy. I'm used to seeing beef and tomato as just pieces of beef and chunks of tomatoes but this shows that it was actually cooked for a while until the juices came out and caramelized a bit. She's a picky eater and she didn't complain so I assume she liked it too. I'm usually indifferent about this place when I'm with my friends. Aside from their total lack of good service they aren't really that bad. Or maybe it's because I'm always satisfied with my Cheese Baked Rice. I still can't believe that a place that clearly has the word sushi in their name has the most horrible sushi you could ever put in your mouth. Luckily there is Ichi Sushi directly across the street to cure my sushi cravings. read more

The food is always fine with this place but customer service is horrible. Came here for brunch with friend and ordered bubble tea. There was something wrong with the taste of the tea. I complained to the waiter and he just said its like this always and didn't bother to change it for me and just walked away. I've been their customer since they opened and their customer service has never improved a bit. Usually when you pay your bill the waiter and cashier would say thank you before you walk out the door. But with them they don't say anything to you. It's like they don't really appreciate your business. One time when I was there., there were some teenage kids sitting behind me. So the kids asked for the bill and they paid for it but didn't know to leave a tip so the waitress actually stood next to their table and watch them paid for their bill and counted the money in front of them and "TOLD" the kids to leave a tip. Wow, I was shocked. I know the waiter and waitress make their money through tips but I don't think that you should tell the customer to leave a tip with an attitude. read more

First off...the last time I came here was about two years ago (definitely before that pyromaniac incident). I remember loving it very much so. It was simple. The menu was clear-cut and the majority of the items looked very appetizing. The quality of the food is a little above average at best. Not the freshest ingredients, but hey...think of the type of place you're in...not some 5 star establishment we are talking about here. If anything, it is a great place to spend a carefree day. The atmosphere is what you would expect from a place that target the younger crowd (or is that just me)? Will definitely check it out...you know...support them and see what's new after the incident. I got my idea of baking my rice/spaghetti when I'm away for school from this place. SO GOOD. I thank them for that. I'm not really into the whole sushi idea. Maybe the spicy salmon rolls, but that's about it. I did try most of their cooked foods area, and always managed to walk out with a smile. Still a college student, so their pricing works pretty well with my budget. It's nice to come here to catch up on times. As far as imitating Hong Kong foods..hrm...I don't know, maybe I got spoiled, but it's just lacking that special factor. Decor's kinda bland. read more

Excellent authentic Chinese food. Great service. Customer-friendly. Very affordable. Love their big-portion baked spaghetti with Portuguese chicken. Sushi bar offers fresh Japanese sashimi every day. Also famous in Hong Kong style Cantonese cuisines and delicious Chinese snacks. Very spacious. Love the restaurant setting & dining atmosphere. They open early and close late. Parking is convenient (across from the municipal parking lot) and it's just less than a minute away from 20 Ave. subway station on D line & B1 bus. read more

used to be taste good many years ago, now getting worse. Maybe be I will just order their sushi here. I ordered bake tomato meat sauce spaghetti and when it came theres no tomato sauce at all. It tasted like msg. Although we told the waiter to change it and he resend us back the same plate with little additional tomato on top. It taste bad. Will probably come back. You cannot leave hungry. Portions are amazing. Flavor is there but kinda bland. Service staff needs some training as they were disorganized with serving in general but more importantly when they are busy, they want you to finish your meals quickly. Whoever answered the phone at 1:25pm today was incredibly rude. I told him "that is all" after telling him my order and he responded with "wow aren't you demanding". Extremely unprofessional, rude and unprovoked response. I immediately hung up because I will not patron a place that hires such characters. read more

The portion of the dishes we ordered are very small. Too much vegetable and very little meat. I thunk i ordered curry beef and i can count out that it only have 6 beef in my plate and the rest are potatoes. Thats how cheap that are. read more
