    Chicken pho, dried version
    Marie V.

We came here on a weekday when they first opened. We ordered the dried version chicken noodles and clear chicken noodle soup. Everything we ordered was tasty. My dried noodle bowl can used a little more sauce. This is my first time eating the dried chicken noodle, not with soup. Although it is tasty, I would prefer chicken pho with ginger sauce dipping a little more. This dried dish would be good when it is hot and I don't feel like eating hot soup. Service was great and plenty of parking.

I was very excited to try the chicken mixed pho and chicken glass noodle soup, and I ordered both with chicken thigh. Recently, I've noticed that Hanoi-style chicken pho and glass noodles are very trendy . I see many places offering Hanoi flavors everywhere. From my experience, the staff were very sweet and polite. This is something I highly appreciate and was very satisfied with. The food was prepared quite quickly, but for my taste, it was a bit salty. There was one small issue that made me uncomfortable. When I ordered bun dau mam tom, I was told it was sold out. However, a customer who came after me was able to order it (maybe they were friends with the staff and were given priority). Even though the owner came to the table of regular customers and recommended that they try the bun dau here because it's very good, I didn't feel happy about that. If you run a business, it should be fair -- first come, first served ,not based on personal relationships. The restroom was not very clean, but the restaurant itself was tidy. Food: 2/5 Service: 5/5 Ambience: 2/5

Foods is good I recommend it. Service is ok bit slow but its ok , ambiance is ok nothing new from the last owner. I would say portion to be a bit more then it'll be a 5 stars. Updates menu, see pictures.

Second visit in, and we're already regulars. That says everything. The food: * Mien luon (eel glass noodle soup) - the eels were crispy, well-seasoned, and dangerous in the best way. I have zero self control around this bowl. I also had mien luon in Hanoi last year, this hit very close to that high bar * Bun dau was solid, but the cha com and fried tofu? Genuinely unhinged how good that was * They adjusted the dipping sauce on request without missing a beat - stronger, exactly how we wanted it The service: * Owner is warm and accommodating, the kind where you feel like a guest, not a transaction * Attentive without hovering The vibe: * Classic mom-and-pop Vietnamese shop - no frills, no gimmicks, just the real thing * If you need mood lighting and a QR code menu to enjoy your food, this might not be your spot. But you'd be missing out. We came back a second time before we even finished planning when to come back the first time. That is either a glowing review or a cry for help. Possibly both. Keep doing what you're doing.

This is a newly opened eatery--small, tidy, and clean--featuring a simple menu of authentic Hanoi-style dishes. I ordered the *bún giả cầy* It was truly delicious and seasoned to absolute perfection. The pork trotters were cooked to just the right tenderness and thoroughly infused with flavor. The bowl retained heat exceptionally well, keeping the dish piping hot right down to the very last bite. I was truly delighted with this meal. The service was polite and attentive--a level of dedication rarely found in Asian-owned eateries. I will definitely be returning to sample the remaining items on the menu.

A new restaurant. They only have 7 dishes on their menu. Wow! So good! I tried the pho ga (chicken pho) and bun thang. The best bun thang in California. Hands down. My mom usually makes this at home and this bun thang is amazing. What makes it so good? The fresh chicken. The dipping sauce. And the broth. Each dish is made differently. They don't mix the broth. If it's made for pho ga, then they cook a whole pot just for the pho ga. They don't use the same broth for the bun thang. This is a sign of excellent cooking. The attention to details really makes this restaurant stand out. I'm glad to see more Northern Vietnamese restaurants in Orange County. So far, this is the best one. The price is very reasonable for the high quality food. What's the significance of the number 36? In Hanoi, there's 36 provinces in Hanoi. I had a chance to talk to the owner/chef. She's originally from Hanoi amd her parents owned a pho restaurant in Hanoi. I hope the family continues to pass on their family recipes through these amazing dishes for us to enjoy. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. I love it! I will definitely be back. For Thinsulin fans, it's hard to avoid the red light noodles, but it's possible to just make it green light.

The Chicken Phở dried style was tasty especially with the garlic soaked in vinegar. The server was friendly and quick. This place has just been opened a little under a month. Mainly the focus is on various dishes that come from Hà Nội Old Quarter (36 phố phường). The overall vibes are pleasant and quaint. I'll be back to try other dishes as well.

We tried the food here 2 weeks ago and it was so good so we had to return. We came here this time on a Saturday around 11am. The dining room started to fill up. We tried a different dish this time: Bún Thang and Dried Pho Ga (not sure of the name). The food was so good again and satisfying; the broth was addictive. The chicken was so flavorful and tender. Usually, Vietnamese restaurants are very dirty especially in the kitchen. To our surprise, the kitchen here was spotless. Will come back again soon to try a different dish.

I had a very disappointing experience at Hanoi36. We clearly requested "NO GREEN ONIONS" because one person in our group cannot tolerate even the smell. However, the kitchen still added onions. When we asked for a new bowl, they only removed the onions instead of remaking it, even though the smell had already affected the broth. What upset us the most was the owner's attitude. Instead of addressing us directly, she spoke loudly across the restaurant saying, "This is the customer who doesn't eat onions? Why are they so difficult?" This felt very disrespectful. When we gave feedback at checkout, she blamed the staff instead of taking responsibility. Only at the very end did she apologize. We understand mistakes can happen, but attitude and accountability matter. Unfortunately, this experience left a very negative impression.

Let me just say ...bun cha Ha Noi dish is the best I've ever had. No need to back to Vietnam to try Anthony Bourdain's favorite dish. It's here where they grill meat on charcoal. And it's delicious. They give you so much meat and noodles. I've also try the bun đầu with the fermented fish sauce...,it's so delicious. The tofu was fried to perfection along with the fried cha cốm. We come every Sunday the staff is very friendly!

Bún chân giò giả cầy rất ngon. Bún chả làm nhớ vị Hà nội Sẽ thử thêm vài món nữa. Ra món nhanh hơn một chút nữa thì thật tuyệt vời!

Delicious Phở Gà Trộn ( Mixed Combo Phở) and Crunchy Eel vermicelli soup. It was the 1st time ever in my life having these. The staff is friendly. Definitely, I will come back to try other dishes from the Northern part of Vietnam.

This is how pho ga to go looked when brought home. All the cilantro and onions completely wilted. Totally unappetizing

Hue Ky Mi Gia - Food and Service Appear to Be Declining…read more My wife and I decided to try Hue Ky Mi Gia. The restaurant is located in a busy plaza, and the parking lot is shared with several other businesses, so finding a parking space can be difficult. Location and Parking -- 2/5 The location is convenient, but parking can be challenging because many businesses share the same parking lot. Atmosphere and Comfort -- 2/5 The air-conditioning was weak, and the front door remained open, so the restaurant felt warmer than expected. Service -- 3/5 The service was only okay. The waiters were not especially friendly or welcoming. Food -- 2/5 I ordered the mì vịt tiềm. As everyone can see from my picture, my bowl came with only one small piece of bok choy. In comparison, pictures posted by other customers show the same dish served with several pieces of fresh vegetables. The noodles were okay but much too oily. The broth served on the side was not hot enough, and the duck was dry and tough instead of tender. The pickled vegetables were also too sour. Restaurants can change over time. Based on the difference between my meal and the meals shown in other customers' pictures, the portions and food quality appear to be inconsistent and declining. Cleanliness -- 2/5 The dining area was acceptable, but the restroom needed more attention and cleaning. Overall -- 2/5 Stars Overall, our experience was below average. Hue Ky Mi Gia may be worth trying once if you want something different, but the food, service, comfort, and cleanliness all need improvement.

We waited about 30-40 minutes with a few parties ahead of us. They'll take your order while you wait. The restaurant itself is very tiny, no-frills, and more of an eat-and-go kind of spot. We ordered the bánh canh tôm cua, which they're known for. It came with a good amount of crab, shrimp, and meat, and the noodles had great texture, but I found the broth a little lacking in flavor. Would recommend adding in lime and fish sauce provided at each table. My partner got the bún thịt nướng chả giò but thought they skimped on the egg rolls and grilled pork (they used the same meat from the bún chả, which I didn't like). For the wait and food, I probably wouldn't come back since there are so many other great Vietnamese options in the area.

However, I'd encourage anyone who hasn't had the dish before to try it if you're a fan of a thick starchy broth and wonderfully chewy udon noodles. There are different meat options to go along with the soup - crab, pork, etc., or any combination of. There's also a "light" broth option which is less thick but equally delicious. Aside from the soup, the egg rolls here are deliciously crisp and crunchy as they're made with rice paper instead of the standard egg roll wrapper. The restaurant is a great example of a hole-in-the-wall that's 100% worth trying. Expect to wait 20-30mins to be seated during normal dining hours due to the low room capacity and popularity of the restaurant (the food comes out really fast though!).

They were actually one of the first places around to serve this style of noodles, and I've enjoyed it for many years. However, over time, I feel like the quality isn't quite the same as it used to be. Maybe the prices are a little lower now, but the portions also seem noticeably smaller. I recently stopped by in the evening for some snacks. The atmosphere was open, casual, and lively, although both the service and the food seemed a little slow coming out. The balut was way too big for me, so I honestly couldn't really eat it. But the grilled blood cockles were large, fresh, and very juicy, which I really enjoyed. The restaurant itself is small, but it feels airy and comfortable. They also have outdoor seating, which is especially nice in the evening when the weather is cool. After our food arrived, there was no check in, no water refills, and you have to go up to the counter to pay. At least its very convenient, streamlined, and efficient! I found the food to have a great depth of flavor, something a lot of pho places lack. I especially liked the wider noodles which offered a nice chew and texture change. Everything was cooked perfectly, and there were plenty of sauces to mix and match if you wanted to spice things up. Definitely worth a visit!
